Are you in college now? How's life going?
@@shadyspades Hahaha oh dang how did you find this old comment? Yeah Im a Jr. At SDSU right now. How about yourself? Getting ready for the ACTs?
I didn’t prepare for the essay at all and got an 11, just know the basic structure of a fully fledged essay, know how to back up your points with real-world examples to appeal to the reader and occasionally use advanced vocabulary. Also, switch up sentence structure and use a lot of transition words/phrases!
My channel I did the exact same thing and got the exact same score lol. It’s pretty easy as long as you use alluring points and back them up fr

A bit of constructive criticism here, nothing harmful at all :)
I would love it if the top and bottom bars on the thumbnail were not red because the UA-cam's "already watched" indicator is also red. It makes it confusing to know if I have already seen this video or not.
Thanks. Please continue making excellent content.

Bruce Deal that is literally nothing compared to other things. Plus 250 hours of video!!!

Hi Brooke - could you tell me if the ACT essay stands alone as its own component of the ACT ? For example, a student who originally took the ACT and got a score of 30 of 36 for their composite score and a 10 out 12 for their essay writing portion. If that student wanted to retake the ACT, this time without the writing portion and they now get a 34 out of 36 as a composite score, would they then report to a college that they got a 34 composite score and 10 essay score ? If the college does superscore, to my mind this would be a non-issue. However, if the school does NOT superscore the ACT could this be an issue ? Could the school that does NOT superscore look at your highest ACT score of 34 and would it then be considered a test without writing ... or does the essay stand alone as its own entity and come along for the ride ? Thanks for any advice you could offer.
Thank for a great video. MAKE MORE VIDEOS
More ACT goodies on the way! Thanks for your support
Is the theme of most essays similar to the one presented in this video?

I just wanna say I made a 10 from this video alone
I would personally make my thesis of the essay that due to social media we create superficial and impersonal relationships. This occurs because when people are on social media they have the ability to create personas that differ from their real-life identity and personality. An extreme example of this would be a catfish, and since there is an entire television series with several season dedicated to catching catfish, it is proven that meeting someone on social media who is not being themselves is not an uncommon occurrence. Would this be a good thesis/argument?
It's funny I saw the pop-up of you reading too fast & I thought "No, I actually though not fast enough." I don't understand why I'm a turtle during the actual test!! (practice tests)
For the SAT PREP, I got 3 different books for Reading, writing and math.
I am a sophomore, so I think I have time to go over each book, page by page (I think)
Should I divide the prep for the 3 different sections by doing
TEST PREP SCHEDULE 1
Math- day 1 (1-2 hours)
Reading- day 2 (1-2 hours)
Writing- day 3 (1-2 hours)
Or
TEST PREP SCHEDULE 2
Day 1
Math- 30 mins - 1 hour
Reading- 30 mins
Writing- 30 mins.
Day 2, repeat schedule and so on..
I want to be able to study and cover more ground on each section, so, which division of prep would be best?
1-2 hours.
better to do a lot of a little than a little of a lot
Im an English Education major trying to take the ACT rather than the PRAXIS, my test is in the morning and I am STRESSED. I JUST NEED A 6 ON THE WRITING!!! UGH.
When writing the essay, do we need to include all three perspectives, or do we write about the one we agree with?
Amy Manning she addressed this, write about what you agree with so you have ONE argument. Perhaps you can also address the counter argument and refute it as well though
2:11 she said "interic-actions" instead of "interactions" lol
DO WE HAVE TO EXAMINE ALL PERSPECTIVES OR CAN WE CHOOSE 2? in all caps bc this issue is bugging me
YOU CAN CHOOSE! Old essay required you examine ALL new prompt is at least one.
ayo good luck boys
who’s taking it tmo
Do the examples have to be real factually correct examples (for example real statistics or real current events)?
Harshi Rasania I’m gonna say: you shouldn’t try to make up things that can be found out/known facts. You can obviously make up facts from your life, because the person reading it doesn’t know you. Basically, it’s suppose to be real, but you can enhance somethings as long as it’s not drastic.
ACT readers don't have all the time in the world to fact check everything. Obviously, you can't write "Gordon Ramsey wrote the Bible" but if you say "in an interview Gordon Ramsey has confirmed his love for chicken tenders" they're not going to look it up to prove you wrong.
The way you explain the DOs and DONTs come off to me that you have to talk about all three prompts. is that true? Am i allowed to just talk about one perspective? and if so, is it better to talk abt all three? and is it better for organization to have smaller paragraphs rebuttling for perspective one and two and develop ur idea, and then in the third body paragraph, agreeing with the third perspective and make it more in depth?
evilcrumbs Talking about all 3 is always better because addressing all 3 prompts shows that you have an understanding of all 3 perspectives given and it solidifies your perspective.
On that grind for tmrw lmaoooo
can we ONLY talk about 2 perspectives or do we have to talk about all 3?
pretty sure you have to talk about all three
TheEpicGene15 she literally says you don’t have to use all three

wtf i dint even get to take tha ACT
So I’m studying for the act, I’ve watched both the tips and majority I of this video, however I believe the tutor stated don’t use given information or use beyond examples but for the last “do” that resembled “writing inside out” it seemed to promote using given information to build a reasoning. Would it be safe to assume that it would be recommended to use the given example and make or remember a slightly digressed example to build my reasoning up?
