I already suggested that to them. I am guessing they don't read the comments or all the comments? Who knows but YES that video of YYZ in Rio is SICK or fire as the kids say nowadays. They'll get it I believe in these 2 God Bless
YYZ is the morse code call sign for the Toronto airport. Alex had a pilots license and when the band was coming in for a landing, Neil loved the rhythm of the morse code. The opening beat is the morse code for the airport. They know that when they saw that on their bags, they were on their way home. It's a great song about the joy of coming home after a long tour.
YYZ is good for the stereo speakers. The heck with the neighbors...crank it up!!! And..... the Live in Rio performance....(you'll see Neil toss the drum sticks up and catch them too) ....the fans are literally jumping in unison... And humming parts of the song. Anyways...gr8 choice!!!
This video was a story based around the album cover art for "Moving Pictures", the 1981 album where this song is found. Google the album cover and you will see the characters in this cartoon as real people in the cover photo. IMPORTANT: also make sure that you Google the BACK of the album, which is an extension of the cover. The images are a "triple-entendre": on the front you see the moving men literally moving the pictures, while being watched by several people who are overcome with emotion over those pictures (being "moved" by those emotionally "moving" pictures.) Flip the album over and the whole scene is shown in larger scale with lights and cameras, thus they are making a MOVING PICTURE of the men MOVING those "MOVING" pictures. Rush has a famously goofy sense of humor !
For the _Time Machine_ tour one of the cut scenes features Rash trying to make a music video, but the director (played by Geddy Lee) is distracted by Bavarian barmaids carrying beer back and forth. He tells them, "Ladies, stop moving pitchers!"
videos after as the music came first - not the level of graphics back then, they are known as the best orchestral-rock bands; technique, complex, layered, cassettes were way back when - they are all genius - they were my favourite band in high school in the late 80's - so still #1 - RIP Peart xo
Watch the live show ! YYZ live in Rio see 50,000 fans singing to a song with no lyrics, But please do Natural Science studio version next and get ready for a ride , with this song be ready to expect the unexpected,
Live in Rio for full impact. Look for washing machines on stage, the crowd singing the entire song even though there are no words, and the crowd going absolutely crazy! It's worth it for sure.
This video came out as a re-release 40 years after the album debut. This video is made for Rush fans. So many references you wouldn't get not knowing the band. Should try a live version!!
YYZ is the international call sign for Toronto- Pearson International Airport. All aorports around the world have a unigue call sign. Hos song is off Moving Pictures relaesed in 1981. Alex Lifeson is a pilot. He and Geddy Lee were in Alex's plane with Alex flying. Each air prt transmits their call sign in morse code. The transponders in each airplane recognizes this signal to know what airport they ate near. Neal peart here this tone and ssid that would be a great idea for a song. YYZ was then created. The Alex Lifeson giutar has that Middle Eastern flair to honor all the international travelers that pass through Toronto airport. The beginning of the song is the musical recreation of the morse code sign YYZ. Cool!
Sameul and Lucas I wish so much you reacted to YYZ Rush in Rio Live. INSANE to see 60,000 fans moving in unison and singing to a song with NO LYRICS. Please watch it. Thank you.
You guys love rush you should have checked this out live in rio and another idea check out wheres my thing live with neal pearts drum solo..it will blow you away they are gods end off
Interesting bit of trivia. YYZ is the international designation for the Toronto International Airport,(Rush's hometown),and the rhythm at the beginning is Morse Code for YYZ.
Next Rush song you should react to is BEST INTRO EVER!!!! It’s a live compilation of Rush songs from there R30 Anniversary Tour. If you truly love Rush it will blow your mind!!!😈🎸🤟🤘🤯
Moving pictures is the 7th album, go back and check out 2112, bytor and the snow dog, Xanadu live exit stage left, la villa strangiato, there's so much more
Haha. Im old as dirt and someone just told me to check out Rush. I was telling him the last time I listened to Primus was in the 90s I think, but we had a head banging good time!
You missed the boat on this one. If you really want to see the power of this song which is an absolute fan favorite, you absolutely MUST react to Rush Live in Rio - YYZ. I have seen over 100 live performances in person and I have NEVER seen ANYTHING that comes close to the energy put out by the crowd in Rio.
Time for you guys to invest in a second pair of headphones. Sharing one set of headphones doesn't cut it.... You're both missing half of the stereo sound !!!
Great reaction. Make sure you tag your reactions. When I search for rush reactions your videos don't come up. I assume it is lack of tags like #rush #rushreaction
The kimonos are an inside joke of the band. Back in the seventies they had to do a photoshoot and they didn't know what to wear to look like a band and they were in Chinatown in families come on out and it was a ridiculous picture
Now do YYZ "Live in RIO"! From 2002 and an answer to your "Modern RUSH vs Rush in there prime" question. Watch AND listen to the crowd. I'm just sayin'
1981 for Moving Pictures. The Spirit of Radio and YYZ videos are both within the last 2 years or so, they technology wasn't there to make these videos in 1980 and 1981. The voices at the end were Alex and Geddy.
To see the magnitude of this song, check out YYZ live in Rio! 60 thousand people singing along with the instrumental!
I already suggested that to them. I am guessing they don't read the comments or all the comments? Who knows but YES that video of YYZ in Rio is SICK or fire as the kids say nowadays. They'll get it I believe in these 2 God Bless
Great call
Over cliched request. Studio is best to hear the techniques in this track. Rio is fun but they go nuts for everyone really over there.
YYZ Is in Moving Pictures album (Feb. 12/1981), great reaction. You must see YYZ LIVE IN RIO.
AGAIN GREAT REACTION
This is one you should see live next. "YYZ Live in Rio"
You need to check out this song done live in Rio. The crowd reaction is fire!
"Subdivisions" is probably my fav. But "Distant Early Warning" and "Between The Wheels" are pretty good also.
There are better songs, but Subdivisions is definitely my personal favourite. Reasons.
Yyz is peak Rush. Moving Picture is a classic album.
And the song was meant to have the chaos and pace of an airport...
And the song is Y Y Zed.
YYZ is good for the stereo speakers.
The heck with the neighbors...crank it up!!!
And..... the Live in Rio performance....(you'll see Neil toss the drum sticks up and catch them too) ....the fans are literally jumping in unison... And humming parts of the song.

YYZ from the live album "Exit Stage Left" with Neil's drum solo in the middle of the song is SURREAL! ;-)
Three geniuses at the peak of their creativity and masters of their art.
Watch the live show ! YYZ live in Rio see 50,000 fans singing to a song with no lyrics, But please do Natural Science studio version next and get ready for a ride , with this song be ready to expect the unexpected,

You guys love rush you should have checked this out live in rio and another idea check out wheres my thing live with neal pearts drum solo..it will blow you away they are gods end off

Nominated for a Grammy AWARD
They were robbed!!!! 😂
@@ginamarandino6451 big time, the Polices Behind my Camel sounds like background music from a sixties grade B horror flick, not even a song imo.
@@Fred-vy1hm Grammy's have always been a popularity contest. The Police were HUGE in the early 80's. Rush were just starting to hit the stratosphere.
This song was incredible yall
The glass crash sound was actually Neil slamming a piece of plywood against a wooden stool.
Their second live album Exit Stage Left has a version of this with an extended drum solo. Well with the listen.
got to watch this live in Rio, incredible
La Villa Strangiato is another great one.
even if it's on your own time check the live version from Rio out.
Absolutely!! The crowd hums along!! And Prof. Peart tosses/catches a drumstick! Classic!!

The Big Money is a powerful song, and still relevant.
Would love to hear you react to ByTor and the Snow Dog - drums are killer! Also it goes hard.

Same song. Live in Rio. 60 thousand people .Singing to an instrument
If you want an aggressive beginning listen to One Little Victory and/or Driven.
This was off of their Moving Pictures album 1981. You bros need to check out the Live in Rio version of this song.

The beginning of the song is morse code for 'YYZ', which is the call letters for the Toronto Airport. (I think it's Toronto, I could be wrong)
You would be CORRECT!
