When it comes to coffee, its quite the same in all of scandinavia, plus Finland. Easier to speak English than make subs afterwards btw.
Dragonland is a very underrated band. Glad that he's keeping it alive even though Amaranthe seems to be much more successful.
"Under The Grey Banner" is still a banger album.
I came here 50% to see if I hear anything about Dragonland during the interview. Great to see this happy spoiler 😂
Astronomy is still a top album for me, and it's pretty much never talked about.
@@erthenmusic Their whole discography is amazing. I think my favorite albums are Under The Grey Banner (very melodic) and The Battle Of The Ivory Plains (THE definition of power metal for me).

Thanks, Ola, Olof and Elize! I got to see Amaranthe with DragonForce in Dallas last year. I hadn't listened to them much before, but they've quickly become one of my favorite bands. The Catalyst is a banger of an album.
This was a surprise to wake up to! Been hooked on this band for years. I never would have guessed they play in Drop A! I get his point, and can’t imagine figuring out a riff that low.
Going to see them in Manchester on Saturday. Can't wait! Last time they were in the UK they all got food poisoning and had to cancel. Hopefully not this time! 🤞

Especially on I'll Sing You Home her vocals are giving me goosebumps every time. The guitar solo in that song is also friggin beautiful. The whole first album is amazing. I think it's on the same level as Avantasia.

Saw these guys live, I loved their first 3 albums but the pop scene kinda took them over and I don’t listen to them as much. Olaf is a killer guitarist and I feel like he definitely holds back

My daughter worked in a hotel when Elise came in with the band cursing on Nils Molin creating drama 😂. She’s awesome and her gig helping Nightwish out was an epic.
Moccamasters don't turn grey if you treat it right. Ours is over 10 years old and we allways pour water in with pot. We just rinse the pot with water when still hot and wash every removable part in dishwasher once a month. Still like new.

As for drums vs vocals, Deen Castranovo in Journey changed into triggers live when they recruited Sean Mendez’ FOH sound engineer so Arnel would be able to sing great again.

I agree with Ola that, in the not-too-distant future, e-drums will be on stage. Currently, a lot of really heavy drummers are playing much smaller kits (well, less toms but more cymbals), which I think is because large kits take up so much room. With an e-drum kit, the number of pads can go back up, *and* they can have some cool ass sounds, to boot.
The fans aren't ready for that. I've seen what happens when a local metal band brought out a hybrid kit with a kick pad not a proper kick drum. They were mocked mercilessly.
@@Patrick-857 Yeah...I believe it. I guess we're still too close to the 80's where e-kits were considered anti-metal for us metal heads. Drummers will have be like, "Don't like my kit!? Listen to this MFers..." and play a solo that sounds like a tank battle. 🤷🏻♂

Wow, I enjoyed this interview a lot more than I enjoy Amaranthe music 😂 Probably unsurprisingly, but it seems evem more so its a commercial endevour, not a naturally formed band. Its really popular so glad for them it worked out, even though personally I dislike their music. Pretty sure they they'd be even more popular in early 2000s, when things like Evanescence along some other American metal core (or however you call it) bands where somehlwhat mainstream.
i do have 2 coffee machines. one big which takes time and a "Nespresso" like, fast one

You know, they talk about ways to lessen the volume of the drums in the vocal mics. I wonder how some of those "quiet/apartment safe" drum heads and cymbals would work in a live setting. Like Ola said, everything is mic'd up so a majority of the audience won't notice. But even someone in the front row would hear quieter, but still analog live drums. Not the tap tap tap of the pads on an E-Kit.
Nah, that's for kids. Professionals use those plexiglass panels to isolate sounds on stage.
Never been a fan of their brand of metal but lovely people, like all of us Swedes 😉

Personally i think the backtracking should be as little as possible, Sabaton have keyboards sometimes tracked and possible some of the Choir, but i want the core instruments to be played, is part of metal?

A drug is anything that alters your physiology by definition IMHO. So yes indeed, Coffee is a drug and can contain chemicals with in. Goats found the Coffee been in Africa so the story goes. Cheers to Ola.
I don't see any problem for the band to switch to an electronic drum kit if it's more convenient for the singers: Garbage has been using e-drums for years and no problem. Drum VSTi-s sound very natural nowadays and even live drums many metal bands are often used with triggers anyway.
