I will NEVER forget meeting Elize. They opened for Within Temptation in Chicago and while we were waiting to meet Within Temptation, she came out and we asked for autographs. She offered to talk to the rest of her group if they would come out and say hi. They politely declined (understandable with how incredible of a show they put on) but said they would happily sign our merch. With an armful of merch, she brought it all on the bus and all of them signed ALL OF IT and returned it to us. She stayed around and chatted for a little bit with us as well. Elize was so sweet, kind, humble, and friendly. Incredible people.
Met them once several years (after Jake E though) back during a small acoustic session in my (and their) hometown, it almost felt kinda bad to take up their time standing and chatting after the session but they were super sweet, and Elize in particular is really kind and approachable.

Hi Liz. I just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan of your work and have been following you since your first video "Nuvoletta" here on YT and on your social media. His music is catchy, his analyzes are delightful to watch. Following you is almost therapeutic as it brings peace, comfort and an indescribable sense of well-being. You deserve all the success and happiness in the world, Liz.
Since you started with "Amaranthine", I want to recommend that you check out "Crystalline", the power ballad from their newest album (it unfortunately doesn't have any harsh vocals, but still a lovely duet between Elize and their new clean male vocalist Nils). Next I would like to suggest "82nd All The Way", this cover version was released as they went on tour with Sabaton. I discovered Amaranthe with their song "Amaranthine" back when the group debuted in 2011. Been on their journey with them ever since. They just released their seventh studio album, The Catalyst. Here's a breakdown of the discography and band members: - Amaranthe (self-titled debut album, released in 2011) - The Nexus (released in 2013) - Massive Addictive (released in 2014) - Maximalism (released in 2016) - Helix (released in 2018) - Manifest (released in 2020) - The Catalyst (released in 2024) The current line-up of members and their roles: - Elize Ryd (2011- present, female lead vocalist). - Nils Molin (2017 - present, male clean vocalist. He debuted on the Helix album after Jake left the group). - Mikael Sehlin (2023 - present, harsh vocalist. He debuted on the group's most recent album at the time of writing this comment, The Catalyst. He replaced Henrik after he left the group to spend more time with his family). - Olof Morck (2011 - present, original core member and founder of the band, lead guitarist, writer, and keyboardist/synths). - Johan Andreassen (2011 - present, bass guitarist). - Morten Lowe Sorenson (2011- present, drummer. He is married to Melissa Bonny). -------------------------------- The former members of the group are: Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg (2011 - 2017, clean male vocalist. He was on the band's first four albums. I do believe he was a co-founder of the group with Olof, but I may be mistaken there. He was replaced by Nils Molin). Andreas "Andy" Solvestrom (2011 - 2013, harsh vocalist. He was on the band's first two albums. He was replaced by Henrik "GG6" Englund Wilhelmsson). Henrik "GG6" Englund Wilhelmsson (2013 - 2022, harsh vocalist. He was on the band's 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th albums. He left to spend more time with his family. He was replaced by Mikael Sehlin). Thanks for reacting to Amaranthe!
I remember seeing Amaranthe as an opening band for Kamelot in Gothenburg many many years ago. Fun to see them pop up on this channel about 15 years later :D
Amaranthe is one of my absolute favourite bands ever! I've listened to them for over 12 years and was my introduction to anything rock/metal. Seen them so many times and they are soo musically fabulous, and all their songs are amazing!
Once again fun to listen! Still missing young ❤Floor Jansen with After Forever singing Dreamflight at Progpower 2007. It's a vocal nerd gem with 3 singers to analyse. And a great prog song!
Thanks for giving us your reaction. There was such a chemistry between the way Jake and Elize sang. It's a shame it couldn't continue but I'm grateful for the music they produced together. There was this sweet, dreamy longing when they did duets.
A band with three styles of vocal that springs to mind is Alexisonfire. "This could be anywhere in the world" has a post-hardcore/punk feel. Dallas (clean), George (screamer), and Wade (harsh) blend their vocal styles really well.
Awesome, looking forward to this and future songs of theirs you get to. Started listening to them last year, so many good songs to pick from! For me faves from each album would be razorblade, on the rocks, drop dead cynical, archangel, breakthrough starshot, damnation flame. And their accoustic ones are cool
I saw Amaranthe live March 10th in Milan. Amaranthine began really slow and it was beautiful! Glad that i recorded ❤ (It was my first ever live concert so i will remember it forever)
I just saw them on Roundhouse at London for the first time and I am absolutely blown away with their performance. Thanks for reacting to this song. I love this one!!!
Another great fun video ! Now, you can go in the more "heavy" stuff like "82nd All The Way" and "Archangel". or go extreme with "Boom!1" or "GG6". There are SO many bangers ! hope you go back to them one day ;)
@@hisk7263 yes, absolutely. and on UA-cam, you can watch their official music video, or their live version, during a Sabaton show, doing the doing with them (which is a banger IMO )
So happy you found Amaranthe. I hope one day you'll react to Elize and Noora Louhimo duet Stronger. Their voices sound great together! Noora is also amazing singer and is a leadsinger of Battle Beast
Going back to their first album, I see. A good starting point, a little slower song. You heard some of Elize Ryd with Kamelot already, and some of Nills with Ad Infinitum, though Nills wasn’t yet in the band on the first few albums.
So great to see Amaranthe on the channel, and I look forward to seeing more of your reactions to them eventually. EDIT: I would love to see your analysis of any of their songs from their newest album, Catalyst.
Best analyse their title track "The Catalyst" as that has some of the best mixing between the 3 voices I've heard in their songs. It was incredible to see live. Almost all the songs from the Manifest album are fantastic too.
Its very hard to put Amaranthe into a particular bracket because they change styles quite often, you really gotta listen to a multitude of songs to get an idea of what they do.
Well this is a pleasant surprise to enjoy after working all day. Finally Amaranthe, hope you dive more into them, one thing I enjoy about them is, every song sounds very different from the last. Hope you’re feeling better soon Elizabeth.
I've been a huge Amaranthe fan since the beginning and just seeing your smile and the happiness glowing off your face while listening to the song made me want to go back and listen to it again myself ❤
I jumped when I saw this post (LOL!). I adore Elize Ryd and the fact you went back to the beginning made me so happy, as yes, this is a great choice to dive into. "Hunger" is a great track, too, and the video for that one is just (chef's kiss). Most of their early videos are super fun, honestly :). Jake E has an interesting/enjoyable voice, though I will say that I think getting Nils Molin to follow on after him really did kick it up a notch for them vocally. On another note, Amaranthe is probably the most psychologically positive/happy metal band you will ever listen to. If you want to dive into an absolute bop of a song, listen to "Electroheart" from "The Nexus". I lovingly refer to it as Britney Spears/ABBA meet gridcore and you can headbang with the biggest smile on your face the whole time. Also, Andreas Solveström (their first harsh/gutteral vocalist) gets some feature time to shine on that one.
Discovered them like three years ago and theyve quickly become one of my favorites, not a single song they have that i dislike...they are absolutely amazing
Hi Liz. You have to meet an artist called Leo Moracchiolli. He makes incredible metal covers of different types of songs and musical genres, having thousands of views. Your videos are super fun and show all your talent. You could start with the cover of "Africa" by Toto, it's unmissable.
@@TheMedicinalMan I am really hoping you are joking about that... If you are serious, you should not reply at all because you just called down all the wrath of the Gods of Metal. Every one of their sycophants, the Elitists, will hunt you to the ends of the Earth. They will stop at nothing. Remember a certain reactor that they DOXXED just because they did not like her reactions when she had any sort of critique? She was a real up-and-coming creative, and they destroyed her career and chased her completely off social media. You are not even that important so if they did it to her, they won't be afraid to do it to you.
Saw Amaranthe and DragonForce together last week, great show, just plain good fun. Are DragonForce high art? Possibly not but they are fun and silly and everyone had a great time.
Amaranthe is one of my favourite bands of the last 15 years, they don't miss. They have more hooks than a fisherman's tacklebox, I can't listen to an album and not be energized. They fuse metal and pop elements in a way that should border cheesy, but their honesty and commitment to their sound makes it just fun and impactful. Can't wait to see more of your Amaranthe reactions, they're so good.
Ayyyyy love this band and the song!! (Though I do feel maybe a different song would have been better for a first impression simply cause this song doesn't exactly showcase all 3 singers equally. You only get like 2 lines of harsh vocals lol)
Amazing reaction! ❤️ So happy that you finally reacted to Amaranthe 🥰 if you feel like checking more I totally advise you to hear their song "Hunger" - that was the first song that made me a fan of them, and you can hear all their beautiful voices very equally!
Love this album. They won me over in the first thirty seconds of this video when Elize sings insanely well, and also manages to look incredible in a Wilma Flintstone dress
PLEASE when you do another video, STAY OLD!!! Go with Hunger and The Nexus before you start with their current music. Their music style changed, and I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not going chronologically through their catalog. Also wanted to add, that this is obviously their ballad. An as such, isn't really a good example of their sound as a whole.
Every single time I watch the video for this song I fall a bit in love with Elize allover again, not only is her voice phenomenal, but her EYES and the way they're highlighted specifically in this video.... My god! 😍
We finally get Amaranthe on The Charismatic Voice! I'm so happy I found this amazing band a few years ago, they have quite the array of awesome songs! Can't wait to see more analysis of this band, I highly recommend doing the song PVP next, especially since we know Elizabeth is a gamer! Cheers!
Thank you so much for reacting to Amaranthe! This is one of my favourite bands for their amazing blend of metal with gorgeous symphonic elements deathly growls and kicking drums. I absolutely love listening to Amaranthe when I go for a run. They’re one of the best symphonic metal bands that deserve so much more success 🫶🏼🤘🏽
Loved this reaction, Elize's voice is angelic! My favorite contemporary music male descant vocalists (High Harmony in contemporary terms) are Graham Nash (CSN(Y)) and Randy Meisner (The Eagles). Thank you as always Elizabeth!
Saw them live last December, and yeeeears before met some of the band members (Elize included) at a bar after their show. Sat together with them and talked about their coming album, they are really wholesome irl. And always surprises me how effortless her singing looks like, almost like it's just breathing for her. No strain, just epic vocals.
This is great! I am actually from the city that Elize grew up in (or atleast lived in) so Amaranthe really does have a big place in my heart. They´re obviously also really big here so this was a great watch!
Well you just gave me a new band to listen too. Had never heard of this group, but Amaranthine was fascinating. I found the album and downloaded if for my listening pleasure. Thanks again for another great analysis and introduction! MB
I would recommend Amaranthe song "Strong" featuring Noora Louhimo (from the Battle Beast). Elize's and Noora's voices are just perfect together! And then dive into Battle Beast! Maybe "Eden" or "Wings of Light"
I wanted to thank you and all those who recommended Amaranth. I have been watching the videos non stop for days. This band was made for my ears I feel. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also wanted echo Nexus!
Jake E is still such a big loss for this band...but verry happy to see they are killing it to this day. Saw them recently on a concert with dragonforce and it was such a good show!
okay......I have not heard many artists get you kinda speechless and the first analysis is "Her voice is really pretty" in almost fan girl emotion. I Love it. And I promise to not make any more comments till I watch this whole thing.
Someone said it before, but I will repeat it - when you'll watch next Amaranthe's song, stay with the old ones! Keep the chronology, cause this new Amaranthe's style is something else - I can't say it's bad, cause I really like it, but it's just different. If you want to meet more of this band, listen to "The Nexus", "Hunger", "1000000 Lightyears". Just after it, you should try newer songs from Manifest album, like pretty awesome "Strong", "Crystalline" and "Make it Better". At the end you can try newest "Insatiable" and absolutely stunning "Stay a Little While" from The Catalyst album. I think that will be a pretty awesome journey that will show you how this band changed over the years. Much love for you and Amaranthe. ❤
Finally Amaranthe! For me a core part of their music is the hand offs between singers, solos etc especially when they do it rapidly. The songs just progress like a train on tracks. Imo Hunger would have been the best starting point, but I'm excited for you to hear their newer material. To me it sounds like Elize has gained a lot more nuance to her signing over the years and albums and she has such a beautiful lower register. My current favorite song is Interference from The Catalyst.

- The Nexus (released in 2013)
- Massive Addictive (released in 2014)
- Maximalism (released in 2016)
- Helix (released in 2018)
- Manifest (released in 2020)
- The Catalyst (released in 2024)
The current line-up of members and their roles:
- Elize Ryd (2011- present, female lead vocalist).
--------------------------------
The former members of the group are:
Joacim "Jake E" Lundberg (2011 - 2017, clean male vocalist.
I have been following you for a while - Your enthusiasm for metal music bring a tear to this old metal head's eye...
I hope In this moment gets in rotation soon, but it's an awesome choice 🤘
The fighter. I need the reaction to the official video
Thanks for giving us your reaction. There was such a chemistry between the way Jake and Elize sang. It's a shame it couldn't continue but I'm grateful for the music they produced together. There was this sweet, dreamy longing when they did duets.
Amaranthe's new album is really good, you should check it out... 🙂
It's average
@@binikatz6497 nothing beats the first 3 albums, but it's better than the 4th and 5th album to me
@@binikatz6497agree, single shots like Insatiable or Damnation Flame are above average, but others, well
@@binikatz6497 +1. Manifest was really good.
Please do The Nexus, Drop Dead Cynical, or Digital World from Amaranthe next!
I just saw them on Roundhouse at London for the first time and I am absolutely blown away with their performance. Thanks for reacting to this song. I love this one!!!
That was a great show.
Another great fun video !
Now, you can go in the more "heavy" stuff like "82nd All The Way" and "Archangel". or go extreme with "Boom!1" or "GG6".
There are SO many bangers ! hope you go back to them one day ;)
Is “82nd all the way” their Sabaton cover?
@@hisk7263 yes, absolutely. and on UA-cam, you can watch their official music video, or their live version, during a Sabaton show, doing the doing with them (which is a banger IMO )
@@hisk7263 Yes
FINALLY!! I've been a fan of them since the beginning and they STILL don't have enough eyes on them IMO
"Endlessly". Elize's voice in this song is very amazing, and the lyrics are beautiful.
Second that, amazingly beautiful song
You've gotta do their version of 82nd All the Way, and also their song Endlessly!
Totally in 💛 with this song! Love the combination of the music with the versatile vocals. Awesome! 💛🤘
One of my favorite bands out there. Just saw them live in Paris last week.
Saw them live 2 nights ago. Was amazing!
Indeed, saw them last week-end aloong Dragonforce, the whole night was amazing.
Saw them as well. I was busy on the pit though. 😅
So happy you found Amaranthe. I hope one day you'll react to Elize and Noora Louhimo duet Stronger. Their voices sound great together! Noora is also amazing singer and is a leadsinger of Battle Beast
Archangel is probably my favorite. You have to listen to it.
I find it so cool how they can make a band work with 3 vocalists. The music all just fits together so well and is really fun to listen to.
Going back to their first album, I see. A good starting point, a little slower song. You heard some of Elize Ryd with Kamelot already, and some of Nills with Ad Infinitum, though Nills wasn’t yet in the band on the first few albums.
Awesome song! The vocals from all the singers are great. I think I need to check out more of their music, thanx for the intro!
If you listen to ending again all 3 are singing together. His scream is quieter and layered below the other two.
Strong by Amarathe ft. Noora Louhimo (from battle beast) is quite a good female empowerment song!
Bad ass song and women
I hope I see more Noora reactions
Yay, Amaranthe incoming. So many good songs are waiting you and us to enjoy of your vocal breakdowns and just pure enjoyment.
For the love. About frickin time, Warrel Dane and Nevermore Helle and Ignea. Elize is amazing.
Saw them live 2 days ago. They were incredible. So pleased to see you reviewing this band.
Its very hard to put Amaranthe into a particular bracket because they change styles quite often, you really gotta listen to a multitude of songs to get an idea of what they do.
Eurometal.
Well this is a pleasant surprise to enjoy after working all day. Finally Amaranthe, hope you dive more into them, one thing I enjoy about them is, every song sounds very different from the last. Hope you’re feeling better soon Elizabeth.
Their new song, "Stay a little while," is another ballad like this. Would be perfect for a reaction.
Dude is a god!
I saw Amaranthe live a few months ago, they are amazing!!! Great vocals all around!!!
This is how you Segway into dragonforce with the doomsday party feature of amaranthe
No no no, we don’t need to analyze dragonforce. There’s absolutely nothing to analyze there beyond poor musicianship and theatrics
@@TheMedicinalMan poor? lol
@@TheMedicinalMan huh?
Im back after watching after video. Amazing! Beautiful song and voices!!!!
Amazing reaction! ❤️ So happy that you finally reacted to Amaranthe 🥰 if you feel like checking more I totally advise you to hear their song "Hunger" - that was the first song that made me a fan of them, and you can hear all their beautiful voices very equally!
Should check out ELEINE - We Shall Remain
Love this album. They won me over in the first thirty seconds of this video when Elize sings insanely well, and also manages to look incredible in a Wilma Flintstone dress
PLEASE when you do another video, STAY OLD!!! Go with Hunger and The Nexus before you start with their current music. Their music style changed, and I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not going chronologically through their catalog.
Also wanted to add, that this is obviously their ballad. An as such, isn't really a good example of their sound as a whole.
Go make your own videos then
+1 to the main comment. Hunger and The Nexus are great!
I concur
This was on their first album....
@@Shenaniman what's your problem?? I'm trying to help her understand the band's sound better. There was no negativity in my comment... Unlike yours.
Yessss, one of my all-time favorite bands from my late teens! Please listen to some more of their music, it's well worth it! 😃
Day/video 52 of requesting a return to Ne Obliviscaris.
Also yay Amaranthe! One of those long overdues.
Cheers!
Her voice is gorgeous. Never heard this, so it's great you featured them.
Lucky enough to see them in London a couple of days ago, they are amazing live 🤘
I don't even know what to recommend next! I hope you do any of their stuff! I love the harsh vocals mixed with the clean. It's so good!
What is more interesting is how they voices combines together. Amazing. They really fit each other
Well you just gave me a new band to listen too. Had never heard of this group, but Amaranthine was fascinating. I found the album and downloaded if for my listening pleasure. Thanks again for another great analysis and introduction!
MB
seeing you fangirl over this band is some dopamine I didn't know I needed today
I love everything about this album, band, song, I could listen to this for days!
I'm so glad you did Amaranthe...I love them
The is an amazing song and as always I love the enthusiasm you bring and the way you break down things, I am not a singer but it is fascinating to me.
I would recommend Amaranthe song "Strong" featuring Noora Louhimo (from the Battle Beast). Elize's and Noora's voices are just perfect together!
And then dive into Battle Beast! Maybe "Eden" or "Wings of Light"
Thank you for reviewing Amaranthe finally. This band has so many great songs over the years. I can't wait for you to review more of their great work!
I wanted to thank you and all those who recommended Amaranth. I have been watching the videos non stop for days. This band was made for my ears I feel. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also wanted echo Nexus!
i can tell you elize is fun to watch live, saw her live to many times. and shes good
Been waiting for this one! Elize can hold the band without the other vocalist, IMO. Love her voice.
Jake E is still such a big loss for this band...but verry happy to see they are killing it to this day. Saw them recently on a concert with dragonforce and it was such a good show!
They have awesome style. I love Nexus and On the Rocks, so much fun that one.
okay......I have not heard many artists get you kinda speechless and the first analysis is "Her voice is really pretty" in almost fan girl emotion. I Love it. And I promise to not make any more comments till I watch this whole thing.
kinda thought of Ann Wilson and Heart toward the back end of the song (with the harmony). Great song. 1st time listen to this group.
Finallyyyy...!! Now it's definitely time for In This Moment! We got Elize... now we need Maria!
This solo is one of my favorite guitar solos... Like ever. It's so perfectly fit into the song. And it just shreds ❤
