I will NEVER forget meeting Elize. They opened for Within Temptation in Chicago and while we were waiting to meet Within Temptation, she came out and we asked for autographs. She offered to talk to the rest of her group if they would come out and say hi. They politely declined (understandable with how incredible of a show they put on) but said they would happily sign our merch. With an armful of merch, she brought it all on the bus and all of them signed ALL OF IT and returned it to us. She stayed around and chatted for a little bit with us as well. Elize was so sweet, kind, humble, and friendly. Incredible people.
Met them once several years (after Jake E though) back during a small acoustic session in my (and their) hometown, it almost felt kinda bad to take up their time standing and chatting after the session but they were super sweet, and Elize in particular is really kind and approachable.
So excited for this one I almost dropped my phone when I saw it. Not enough people know about this fantastic band and that needs to change. So unique while simultaneously being familiar and comforting at least for someone with my taste in music.
Their old stuff was great, truly a mix of heavy and catchy. Now a days they moved to more pop metal and imo that's a downgrade. Then again I got hooked during the 'The Nexus' album cycle so it's a night and day difference between those records. Also Jake and Henrik kept it more heavy, hence why they're gone now. The current composition of the band as it is, is ofcourse a great mix of talented individuals, but no longer the Amaranthe from back then
@@georyd agree, their first 3 albums were really good, then the 2 after that were pretty disappointing but recently i've enjoyed their new songs a bit more, re-vision is great
I’m sad that I’ve only seen them live 1x. I dont know how often they your in the US, but I’ve only seen them have a show in New England the 1 time, iirc it was around the 2nd album.
Amaranthe's combination of three very different voices is just so awesome throughout the entire existence of the band and the variations they go through. It's a very full stage when they play live.
Hi Elizabeth, can you imagine this band singing Sabaton? They do a fantastic cover of Sabaton's "82nd All The Way" and Elize in the music video for it is one of the cutest things you'll ever see. I love their cover as much as the Sabaton original. It's quite a short song so it would be really cool if you did a double reaction to both versions like you did with Wicked Game.
I strongly support this one and I'm even gonna go a bit farther and say the live version with Amaranthe singing this song with the Sabaton lead joining them for the last part is even more powerful and worth reacting to
Finally! SO happy to see this band get more attention. This band actually has some ties to a group/singer you've reacted to before, Melissa Bonny/Ad Infinitum/The Dark Side of the Moon. Nils (Amaranthe's current male clean vocalist) was featured on the song 'Afterlife' by Ad Infinitum (which I believe you've reacted to before). Also, Morten (drummer for Amaranthe and The Dark Side of the Moon) and Melissa Bonny recently got married.
Could not believe you landed on Amaranthine. My daughter and I would sing this as a duet (in the truck, not for public consumption:) and to this day we smile and sind when this song comes up together..... thank you so much for reacting to a classic!
Okay I was at the doctor and I screamed a little when I got the notification lmao While not the best song to fully understand the craziness of their sound, it's still a damn good song and a nice start. Their ballads are top notch. Cried several times listening Amaranthine and Burn With Me. Highly recommend this song too. Also there's Strong where she sings with Noora Louhimo from Battle Beast and is *chef's kiss* About Elize I freaking love her. I interviewed her once and I treasure this moment so much. She's so sweet and insightful. The band changed quite a lot during the years and while I love their current sound, I second listening to their OG sound first. This way you'll get the best experience. Manifest is my fav from the newer stuff btw
I actually randomly found Amaranthe maybe 2 years ago... I somehow in my head thought they had broken up. Thanks to your video, I had discovered that they're still active! Their mixture of "legit"/clean and metal is so perfectly my taste in music. THANK YOU! Amazing reaction as always!
I was one of their publicists from 2012-2016. They are a killer band and put on a great show. There really is no studio magic with them (obviously aside from the overdubs and such). They are insanely talented and I’m happy you took the time to analyze one of their songs!
Once again fun to listen! Still missing young ❤Floor Jansen with After Forever singing Dreamflight at Progpower 2007. It's a vocal nerd gem with 3 singers to analyse. And a great prog song!
Hi Liz. I just wanted to say that I'm a huge fan of your work and have been following you since your first video "Nuvoletta" here on YT and on your social media. His music is catchy, his analyzes are delightful to watch. You are an incredible professional and a spectacular human being, with a special and unique heart, a rare person, who shines and illuminates everyone with your charisma, character, joy and talent. Following you is almost therapeutic as it brings peace, comfort and an indescribable sense of well-being. You deserve all the success and happiness in the world, Liz.
Awesome, looking forward to this and future songs of theirs you get to. Started listening to them last year, so many good songs to pick from! For me faves from each album would be razorblade, on the rocks, drop dead cynical, archangel, breakthrough starshot, damnation flame. And their accoustic ones are cool
Been a fan for a while and finally saw them live in Barcelona this March along with Dragonforce. Incredible to get to see them in such a small venue. Fantastic band!
The truth is, all of Amaranthe's songs are great (obviously some more than others). But my personal recommendation, I don't know if to analyze on UA-cam, but to listen to one of the most beautiful songs you can hear (especially from a metal band) listen to "Endlessly". Elize's voice in this song is very amazing, and the lyrics are beautiful.
Yeah thats a big fluffy lie (on their songs) *Quality before Quantity* *Nightwish* Are just one of the many doing it better as well better Quality on Music Production.
@@Real-Name..Maqavoy And what you said doesn't mean much. Fortunately, when it comes to Floor, I don't lose that much because I can always play After Forever, which I have no problems listening to.
Since you started with "Amaranthine", I want to recommend that you check out "Crystalline", the power ballad from their newest album (it unfortunately doesn't have any harsh vocals, but still a lovely duet between Elize and their new clean male vocalist Nils). Next I would like to suggest "82nd All The Way", this cover version was released as they went on tour with Sabaton. Finally, to recommend some songs from different "eras", "The Nexus", "Maximize", and "The Catalyst", each was the "title-song" for their respective albums (and in no way influenced by them playing all three at a concert last month 😜).
I remember seeing Amaranthe as an opening band for Kamelot in Gothenburg many many years ago. Fun to see them pop up on this channel about 15 years later :D
I just saw them on Roundhouse at London for the first time and I am absolutely blown away with their performance. Thanks for reacting to this song. I love this one!!!
Thanks for giving us your reaction. There was such a chemistry between the way Jake and Elize sang. It's a shame it couldn't continue but I'm grateful for the music they produced together. There was this sweet, dreamy longing when they did duets.
Another great fun video ! Now, you can go in the more "heavy" stuff like "82nd All The Way" and "Archangel". or go extreme with "Boom!1" or "GG6". There are SO many bangers ! hope you go back to them one day ;)
@@hisk7263 yes, absolutely. and on UA-cam, you can watch their official music video, or their live version, during a Sabaton show, doing the doing with them (which is a banger IMO )
Amazing reaction! ❤️ So happy that you finally reacted to Amaranthe 🥰 if you feel like checking more I totally advise you to hear their song "Hunger" - that was the first song that made me a fan of them, and you can hear all their beautiful voices very equally!
Amaranthe is one of my absolute favourite bands ever! I've listened to them for over 12 years and was my introduction to anything rock/metal. Seen them so many times and they are soo musically fabulous, and all their songs are amazing!
A band with three styles of vocal that springs to mind is Alexisonfire. "This could be anywhere in the world" has a post-hardcore/punk feel. Dallas (clean), George (screamer), and Wade (harsh) blend their vocal styles really well.
Manifest is a blast. First time I listened to it I got so much energy from it that was like drinking coffee lol Easily my favorite Amaranthe album along with The Nexus I still need to listen the new album tho :C I'm having kind of a rough year

We finally get Amaranthe on The Charismatic Voice! I'm so happy I found this amazing band a few years ago, they have quite the array of awesome songs! Can't wait to see more analysis of this band, I highly recommend doing the song PVP next, especially since we know Elizabeth is a gamer! Cheers!
I saw Amaranthe live March 10th in Milan. Amaranthine began really slow and it was beautiful! Glad that i recorded ❤ (It was my first ever live concert so i will remember it forever)
Loved this reaction, Elize's voice is angelic! My favorite contemporary music male descant vocalists (High Harmony in contemporary terms) are Graham Nash (CSN(Y)) and Randy Meisner (The Eagles). Thank you as always Elizabeth!
So great to see Amaranthe on the channel, and I look forward to seeing more of your reactions to them eventually. EDIT: I would love to see your analysis of any of their songs from their newest album, Catalyst.
Best analyse their title track "The Catalyst" as that has some of the best mixing between the 3 voices I've heard in their songs. It was incredible to see live. Almost all the songs from the Manifest album are fantastic too.
I've been a huge Amaranthe fan since the beginning and just seeing your smile and the happiness glowing off your face while listening to the song made me want to go back and listen to it again myself ❤
I jumped when I saw this post (LOL!). I adore Elize Ryd and the fact you went back to the beginning made me so happy, as yes, this is a great choice to dive into. "Hunger" is a great track, too, and the video for that one is just (chef's kiss). Most of their early videos are super fun, honestly :). Jake E has an interesting/enjoyable voice, though I will say that I think getting Nils Molin to follow on after him really did kick it up a notch for them vocally. On another note, Amaranthe is probably the most psychologically positive/happy metal band you will ever listen to. If you want to dive into an absolute bop of a song, listen to "Electroheart" from "The Nexus". I lovingly refer to it as Britney Spears/ABBA meet gridcore and you can headbang with the biggest smile on your face the whole time. Also, Andreas Solveström (their first harsh/gutteral vocalist) gets some feature time to shine on that one.
Every single time I watch the video for this song I fall a bit in love with Elize allover again, not only is her voice phenomenal, but her EYES and the way they're highlighted specifically in this video.... My god! 😍
Thank you so much for reacting to Amaranthe! This is one of my favourite bands for their amazing blend of metal with gorgeous symphonic elements deathly growls and kicking drums. I absolutely love listening to Amaranthe when I go for a run. They’re one of the best symphonic metal bands that deserve so much more success 🫶🏼🤘🏽
This is great! I am actually from the city that Elize grew up in (or atleast lived in) so Amaranthe really does have a big place in my heart. They´re obviously also really big here so this was a great watch!
Amaranthe is one of my favourite bands of the last 15 years, they don't miss. They have more hooks than a fisherman's tacklebox, I can't listen to an album and not be energized. They fuse metal and pop elements in a way that should border cheesy, but their honesty and commitment to their sound makes it just fun and impactful. Can't wait to see more of your Amaranthe reactions, they're so good.
Going back to their first album, I see. A good starting point, a little slower song. You heard some of Elize Ryd with Kamelot already, and some of Nills with Ad Infinitum, though Nills wasn’t yet in the band on the first few albums.
Well this is a pleasant surprise to enjoy after working all day. Finally Amaranthe, hope you dive more into them, one thing I enjoy about them is, every song sounds very different from the last. Hope you’re feeling better soon Elizabeth.
*Yes, finally AMARANTHE, even if this is an old song. Meanwhile Jake E. left the band and Nils Molin is the male clean vocalist, also the male harsh vocalist has changed...twice: in "Amaranthine" was Andreas Solveström the growler, "GG6" was his successor, since June 2023 Mikael Sehlin is the male harsh vocalist. Their new album "The Catalyst" was released on 23rd February 2024.* 🎵🎸🥁💿🔊🔥❤️🔥😈❤️🔥
So happy you found Amaranthe. I hope one day you'll react to Elize and Noora Louhimo duet Stronger. Their voices sound great together! Noora is also amazing singer and is a leadsinger of Battle Beast
Finally you did this track. Its been a banger for maaaany years and dangit its one of the best songs ive every heard! Edit after watching the video: Pianowise, thats almost guaranteed a touch made by Olof (The guitarist who also plays piano, violin (i think) and alot of different instruments!) Jake did indeed leave Amaranthe around 2015 and later created "CyHra" with former In Flames members! He was replaced by Nils Molin (Dynazty) who also fit quite well with the band even with a much darker take on his vocals! Andreas (Harsh Vocals) also left the band after "The Nexus" and was later replaced by Henrik "GG6" Englund who where with Amaranthe til 2022 when he left the band aswell and after awhile without a harsh vocalist Mikael Sehlin came into the picture!
I wanted to thank you and all those who recommended Amaranth. I have been watching the videos non stop for days. This band was made for my ears I feel. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also wanted echo Nexus!
Love this album. They won me over in the first thirty seconds of this video when Elize sings insanely well, and also manages to look incredible in a Wilma Flintstone dress
Hi Liz. You have to meet an artist called Leo Moracchiolli. He makes incredible metal covers of different types of songs and musical genres, having thousands of views. Your videos are super fun and show all your talent. You could start with the cover of "Africa" by Toto, it's unmissable.
PLEASE when you do another video, STAY OLD!!! Go with Hunger and The Nexus before you start with their current music. Their music style changed, and I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not going chronologically through their catalog. Also wanted to add, that this is obviously their ballad. An as such, isn't really a good example of their sound as a whole.
Its very hard to put Amaranthe into a particular bracket because they change styles quite often, you really gotta listen to a multitude of songs to get an idea of what they do.
Ayyyyy love this band and the song!! (Though I do feel maybe a different song would have been better for a first impression simply cause this song doesn't exactly showcase all 3 singers equally. You only get like 2 lines of harsh vocals lol)
@@TheMedicinalMan I am really hoping you are joking about that... If you are serious, you should not reply at all because you just called down all the wrath of the Gods of Metal. Every one of their sycophants, the Elitists, will hunt you to the ends of the Earth. They will stop at nothing. Remember a certain reactor that they DOXXED just because they did not like her reactions when she had any sort of critique? She was a real up-and-coming creative, and they destroyed her career and chased her completely off social media. You are not even that important so if they did it to her, they won't be afraid to do it to you.
Saw Amaranthe and DragonForce together last week, great show, just plain good fun. Are DragonForce high art? Possibly not but they are fun and silly and everyone had a great time.
Love that you chose this song! It's my favourite Amaranthe song (maybe together with Maximize) and I feel it's less popular/underrated. Also, I love Jake's voice and timing. Here, as well as in his new project Cyhra.
I love the pure reaction to what has become my favorite band of all time. I also learned today that goosebumps can be paused and played along with the video.. so that was neat lol. I would absolutely love to see this done with their current line-up. Even a comparison of the various line-ups over the years where you can see they worked very hard to not let the band member swaps affect the overall sound. I have never skipped an Amaranthe song, but my current favorite from them is Damnation Flame. Also I will click on literally anything that says Elize was a part of it :D
Well you just gave me a new band to listen too. Had never heard of this group, but Amaranthine was fascinating. I found the album and downloaded if for my listening pleasure. Thanks again for another great analysis and introduction! MB
This is the first song I heard from them and I was hooked! Like one user said, their music has changed as the years go by. Start at the beginning and move one after this. I recommend the Nexus as your next song. Elize has such a beautiful voice.
Discovered them like three years ago and theyve quickly become one of my favorites, not a single song they have that i dislike...they are absolutely amazing
okay......I have not heard many artists get you kinda speechless and the first analysis is "Her voice is really pretty" in almost fan girl emotion. I Love it. And I promise to not make any more comments till I watch this whole thing.
Finally Amaranthe! For me a core part of their music is the hand offs between singers, solos etc especially when they do it rapidly. The songs just progress like a train on tracks. Imo Hunger would have been the best starting point, but I'm excited for you to hear their newer material. To me it sounds like Elize has gained a lot more nuance to her signing over the years and albums and she has such a beautiful lower register. My current favorite song is Interference from The Catalyst.
As a Swede, I find it absolutely hilarious how similar Elize and Agneta Fältskog of ABBA sounds, especially on pronunciation. Look it up, I've not listened much to Amaranthe but every time I do hear them it's the thing that strikes me.
So glad to watch you reacting to Amaranthe, because this band has a special place in my heart. Endlessly was the song we danced with my wife at our wedding a couple years ago. As other comments said, should you react to more Amaranthe songs, start from the past so you can see their progression and evolution through the albums.

"Endlessly". Elize's voice in this song is very amazing, and the lyrics are beautiful.
Second that, amazingly beautiful song
My god! 😍
Saw them live 2 nights ago. Was amazing!
Indeed, saw them last week-end aloong Dragonforce, the whole night was amazing.
Saw them as well. I was busy on the pit though. 😅
Amaranthe's new album is really good, you should check it out... 🙂
It's average
@@binikatz6497 nothing beats the first 3 albums, but it's better than the 4th and 5th album to me
@@binikatz6497agree, single shots like Insatiable or Damnation Flame are above average, but others, well
@@binikatz6497 +1. Manifest was really good.
This is great! I am actually from the city that Elize grew up in (or atleast lived in) so Amaranthe really does have a big place in my heart. They´re obviously also really big here so this was a great watch!
Archangel is probably my favorite. You have to listen to it.
Damn, GG left? He was pretty cool and fun...
@@maxschmidt9461 this was ages ago at this point
@@maxschmidt9461 *I know, but he wanted to spend more time with his family.* 🤔
@@NicholasCorvin though Mikael is great as well. Saw them live last week and he totally naild it in Boom!1
I heard them live few weeks ago, they were amazing.
I saw Amaranthe live a few months ago, they are amazing!!! Great vocals all around!!!
For the love. About frickin time, Warrel Dane and Nevermore Helle and Ignea. Elize is amazing.
So happy you found Amaranthe. I hope one day you'll react to Elize and Noora Louhimo duet Stronger. Their voices sound great together! Noora is also amazing singer and is a leadsinger of Battle Beast
Please do The Nexus, Drop Dead Cynical, or Digital World from Amaranthe next!
Finally you did this track. Its been a banger for maaaany years and dangit its one of the best songs ive every heard!
Edit after watching the video: Pianowise, thats almost guaranteed a touch made by Olof (The guitarist who also plays piano, violin (i think) and alot of different instruments!)
Jake did indeed leave Amaranthe around 2015 and later created "CyHra" with former In Flames members!
Strong by Amarathe ft. Noora Louhimo (from battle beast) is quite a good female empowerment song!
Bad ass song and women
I hope I see more Noora reactions
I wanted to thank you and all those who recommended Amaranth. I have been watching the videos non stop for days. This band was made for my ears I feel. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Also wanted echo Nexus!
Their new song, "Stay a little while," is another ballad like this. Would be perfect for a reaction.
Dude is a god!
I find it so cool how they can make a band work with 3 vocalists. The music all just fits together so well and is really fun to listen to.
Go make your own videos then
+1 to the main comment. Hunger and The Nexus are great!
I concur
This was on their first album....
@@Shenaniman what's your problem?? I'm trying to help her understand the band's sound better. There was no negativity in my comment... Unlike yours.
FINALLY!! I've been a fan of them since the beginning and they STILL don't have enough eyes on them IMO
Its very hard to put Amaranthe into a particular bracket because they change styles quite often, you really gotta listen to a multitude of songs to get an idea of what they do.
Eurometal.
seeing you fangirl over this band is some dopamine I didn't know I needed today
Ayyyyy love this band and the song!! (Though I do feel maybe a different song would have been better for a first impression simply cause this song doesn't exactly showcase all 3 singers equally. You only get like 2 lines of harsh vocals lol)
Yay, Amaranthe incoming. So many good songs are waiting you and us to enjoy of your vocal breakdowns and just pure enjoyment.
This is how you Segway into dragonforce with the doomsday party feature of amaranthe
No no no, we don’t need to analyze dragonforce. There’s absolutely nothing to analyze there beyond poor musicianship and theatrics
@@TheMedicinalMan poor? lol
@@TheMedicinalMan huh?
Saw Amaranthe and DragonForce together last week, great show, just plain good fun. Are DragonForce high art? Possibly not but they are fun and silly and everyone had a great time.
Love that you chose this song! It's my favourite Amaranthe song (maybe together with Maximize) and I feel it's less popular/underrated. Also, I love Jake's voice and timing. Here, as well as in his new project Cyhra.
Should check out ELEINE - We Shall Remain
Been waiting for this one! Elize can hold the band without the other vocalist, IMO. Love her voice.
Day/video 52 of requesting a return to Ne Obliviscaris.
Also yay Amaranthe! One of those long overdues.
Lucky enough to see them in London a couple of days ago, they are amazing live 🤘
One of my favorite bands out there. Just saw them live in Paris last week.
Awesome song! The vocals from all the singers are great. I think I need to check out more of their music, thanx for the intro!
I don't even know what to recommend next! I hope you do any of their stuff! I love the harsh vocals mixed with the clean. It's so good!
Her voice is gorgeous. Never heard this, so it's great you featured them.
Thank you for reviewing Amaranthe finally. This band has so many great songs over the years. I can't wait for you to review more of their great work!
Well you just gave me a new band to listen too. Had never heard of this group, but Amaranthine was fascinating. I found the album and downloaded if for my listening pleasure. Thanks again for another great analysis and introduction!

Loooove Amaranthe!! ❤
Glad you finally made one about them
Im back after watching after video. Amazing! Beautiful song and voices!!!!
This solo is one of my favorite guitar solos... Like ever. It's so perfectly fit into the song. And it just shreds ❤
Nice to see you finally got to Amaranthe. There are so many lesser known bands that deserve your input.
Often labelled as Industrial...
So happy you finally got to Amaranthe, one of my fav bands ❤
FINALLY!!!!! OMG I can't believe I missed the live. I've gotta hit the notification AND the subscribe button I see!
As a Swede, I find it absolutely hilarious how similar Elize and Agneta Fältskog of ABBA sounds, especially on pronunciation. Look it up, I've not listened much to Amaranthe but every time I do hear them it's the thing that strikes me.
The is an amazing song and as always I love the enthusiasm you bring and the way you break down things, I am not a singer but it is fascinating to me.
So glad to watch you reacting to Amaranthe, because this band has a special place in my heart. Endlessly was the song we danced with my wife at our wedding a couple years ago.
As other comments said, should you react to more Amaranthe songs, start from the past so you can see their progression and evolution through the albums.
My wife and I did something similar with "Amaranthine" as our dance song!
Thank you Elizabeth. Finaly Amaranthe. More please🙏🤘
i can tell you elize is fun to watch live, saw her live to many times. and shes good
I love everything about this album, band, song, I could listen to this for days!
I'm so glad you did Amaranthe...I love them
