Such a great time. Thanks for having me, brother!! 🙏
Anytime!
You are keeping the music torch lit, thank you!!
You were great man, listening to you was both interesting and entertaining! Keep up the good work!
Live long & prosper Wolf!🖖🤘☮
You are such down to earth and honest cat...respect 👊
Humble, relaxed, down-to-earth. Wolfgang seems like an aweome dude! Massive respect for his multi-instrument ability, carving his own style and not trying to be his dad.
I was literally saying out loud to myself how humble Wolf sounds as I scrolled past your comment. Incredible for someone that grew up in his circumstances.
@@ryanchappell1506goes to show that while Eddie had his demons, and fame he was a great dad.
Caffeine fix sorted!
No. He’s an axe murderer between shows………. 😂
@@jasonthemason1971 we all have someone in our lives that could use an axe to the head, no? Can you really blame him?! 😉
Wolfey asking his dad to call Paul Gilbert for lessons... I'm still chuckling. He is such a good interviewee
Wolfgang is fast becoming everyone's favourite musician. It's impossible not to like the guy. Much love and respect ❤️
he says the right things, I think he should not engage with hacks but that is me
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
Who's a hack?
@@dmitryowens the insecure music followers who say stupid things pr insult him on social media
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle sounds like he's pretty insecure himself
I am so happy to see Wolfgang come into his own. Such a talent. Loved the interview.
Holy shit, did you snip a lock of his hair when his back was turned so you could have some Van Halen DNA in your possession? I’m just kidding, I mean, yeah I’m kidding…🤫🫢
Wolfgang has the toughest gig in the world. Father is the greatest guitar player ever, and anything he does is compared to his father, or claimed that he's famous only because of his last name. But he really has his own thing going!
He doesn't really pale in the comparison. Of course he got all the possibilities to learn in the world as a kid, but still, he plays all these instruments on a professional level. Seems to be able to do all the dad jokes on guitar too so... He's the rare kid who doesn't have anything to fear from that comparison :)
His dad is Randy Rhoads? Ed is an all-time great, no doubt
@@tseikkisnelkytkaks9013 Well, that "kid" is over 30 years old now, so not as surprising, although still impressive.
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle,
💯💯💯💯. Undoubtedly ‼️. ZAKK, St. Dime, everyone knows that RANDY RHOADS is the ultimate musician and Wolfgang has def learned his teachings. RIP EVH, RR 🎸🎶🎵 & God bless the late, great Delores RHOADS resting in paradise forever ♾️‼️❤️
As 311 would say, “fuck the nay sayers”. Wolf is the real deal and is insanely talented. Glad everyone is finding out.
Not easy to have possibly the greatest guitarist of all time as your shadow. Respect to how he handles himself and good luck to him.
Exactly right and he seems like a humble guy!
he has his head screwed on straight, probably seeing the dark side of success with his dad
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle Yep....
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle That had to be really tough on a young guy.
!!…listen to more guitar players!
Wolfgang is such a nice guy. His mom and dad did a great job raising him. 😇
Sooo true, they did great!
Man I bet his dad is so proud of him. Smiling down on him for the amazing person he is, and musician..
I love how normal and cool Wolfgang is. And he writes killer music. Look fwd to his career trajectory.
yeah definitely to be a son of such a legend, he turned out about as good as you can hope, and he remains normal without having to like, go under a different name or shy away from talking about his family. well balanced individual lol
It's easy to see why Edward was always talking about Wolfgang. He's so humble and real. We're lucky that he is gifting us with his music. 🤘 #WolfgangRulez
That’s proof how well Val and Ed raised their son! He was kept out of the spotlight in his young years as his wonderful mom and dad guided him and let him just be a kid. He is a joy to listen to!❤️
Wolfie is the Best of EVH and Valerie. High IQ, Very personable, humble, natural musician and Pure Bad Ass!. Outstanding! Thanks Ola for a Great interview.
So great we have Wolfie. He has a very awesome vibe . Very good musician too. You know Eddie is so proud.
Wolfgang is such a likeable dude. I'm looking forward to hearing a new album
There’s no too many interviews with Wolfgang, I have to say from the ones I’ve seen. He seemed so relaxed with Ola! Props to Ola for getting him to come on and for being the most badass guitar interviewer on UA-cam!
what? there are tons he seems to do a lot of promotion
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle
Very few rock and metal UA-camrs are as cool, humorous, musically knowledgeable, and down-to-earth as Ola.
Totally love interviews with Wolf.
He is such a great guy.
Love the endearing Eddie Van Halen - Wolf stories.
Wolf is his own person and he’s so humble and genuine.
Love that EVH handed his legacy to Wolf, on that tour when EVH was still alive.
I watched Wolf play bass on that tour and he’s a talented musician.
Excellent comment!❤
We seem to be entering this amazing phase of interviews with musicians. Nuno with Beato, Noel Gallagher on That Pedal Show, and now WVH with Ola. They're all re-igniting my passion to write and play guitar again after a horrible period of zero motivation. CHEERS TO ALL OF YOU! ❤
I can agree and I think it’s sick as well but if you need other people to reignite your motivation to play music or write music i think you got a problem of your own
@@j.jaguilar9770 Everyone goes through periods of time where they feel unmotivated to play or practice. There's nothing wrong with getting inspiration from others to reignite your passion.
@@d472kone Yeah i totally read that first comment wrong bro lol i didn’t mean to come off dickish 😂
@@j.jaguilar9770 you're all good bro
It's interesting you put this guy in the same league as Nuno or Noel. I'd love to hear your justification for that.
What a friggen chill dude, wish his career the best.
Wolf seems like such a genuinely good dude. I'm happy for him and his success he's definitely earned it.
Such a humble guy with an enormous talent. Stepping out of the shadows of his father, he has only proven how incredible and talented he is. All the haters need to shut up and listen to his music. The Taylor Hawkins concerts are proof that he s the real deal. I'm a massive fan! And, Ola - what a great interview. Wolf seemed so relaxed with you!
Wolf’s heritage is his! Just so proud of this fine young humble man!❤
Man, as a big fan of his dad, I love how humble and easy-going Wolf is. What an awesome young man! Glad he's out doing his own thing and he's becoming successful.
Since I saw the "Distance" video (which made me cry!), I've been a fan of Wolfgang. I mean, the multi instrumentalist thing is amazingly impressive, but it's his vocals that just absolutely slay me. Amazing stuff.
I cry every time I watch that video!
@@christopherhuff3123 same.
Love this kid so much. The music world needs to hear his words .
Love seeing two great musicians hanging out and talking shop. God Bless.
Mad respect for him for doing his own thing, can’t be easy being the son of the greatest guitar player in history. Wolfgang seems like a really chill, great dude. Very natural and interesting convo!
I love interviews like this, so relaxed and genuine. Wolfgang is such a lovely guy.
I saw Mammoth open for Alter Bridge in Boston back in February. They were simply amazing. What a tight band.
I recently turned 50. Came up like many with massive respect for Eddie. My father was a musician and got me into music at a young age. At this time in my life, with kids of my own and recently losing my father, I have to say I enjoy watching this young man continue to develop and flourish on his own path. He seems like a genuinely good person and massive credit to Eddie and Valerie. Wolf is the son of rock guitar royalty but has found his own way and has his own style. Rock on Wolf! Your pop is insanely proud and can’t wait to hear more from you. God bless.
Well said dude. I’m 46 and I never thought I could be impressed and blown away by a new Muso/band. Wolf is such a blessing and what it needed right now 🤟🏼
Wolfgang is a fine young man! Thank you Ola for brining us a down to earth interview! Nobody does it better! \m/\m/
Love Wolfie, and loved the fact that the conversation wasn't pointed into EVH, but rather grazed thru it in a very natural way. Good friendly vibe all the way.
such a huge talent in this guy. awesome.
Saw Mammoth at Gröna Lund on Tuesday and the three guitars merged so well. Best guitar sound I've heard in a very long time! Also Wolfgang is an incredible singer! His sense of pitch is just perfect!
Great interview or I should say chat - relaxed, easy going, no curved ball questions - just two music pros talking. Love it!
Sweet! You got Wolfie! He’s an incredible talent and a totally down to earth guy. Major fan girl here!
Wolfgang is such a skilled guy! Such a legend!
Seems like a very down to earth an nice guy!
His latest stuff is really groovy!
glad he turned out to be a good guy, a lot of kids of famous musicians do not choose the right path
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle Well EVH seemed to be a really good dad, and WVH does seem like he doesn't have it in him to be a bad apple, but I guess it is hard to discern what the main ingredient is to make a cebretity kid turn rotten. Not that they are necessarily bad people, but rather troublesome. It is individual and probably a combination of both genetics and upbringing. Sorry for the long answer. Be well and take care!
@@apathtrampledbydeer8446 no problem , always appreciate thoughtful answers
Impressive, what a great guy and already like a role model or the blueprint of how human beings should act more. Legend on his own!
Lots of respect for that kid. Refreshing to see and hear a person in that unique position be so humble.
Wolfgang is such an amazing person and I love seeing him doing his own thing and killing it. Great interview my friend. 🤘🏻
Great interview, very personable and real. Wolfgang is such a sensible, true, and down to earth person despite his talents and famous parents. I know Eddie had to be proud of him. Love how he wants to keep it real by playing it live without tracks. Tracks cheat both the audience and the performers.
His father was intensely proud of him & called it "long ago", that Wolfgang was the real deal & was going to go far. Why else do you think Ed & Al asked him to be in Van Halen! You think they would let just anyone in their band, even if it was one of their kids?! Yeah...NO. And he learned from the very best! Van Halen played live, each & every show, no reason uber talented Wolf would think to do anything different & cut any serious corners. (That would certainly piss off his father & uncle to no end!). They are all true musicians & they PLAY!
Wow, there's so much of Eddie in Wolfgang. A very well spoken and humble young man. I wish Wolfie all the success in the world.
Such an inspiring young man. His inflections/timbre and mannerisms are quite reminiscent of his dad but is def a man of his own making. Remarkable parenting, Eddie. We miss you…
Big thank you, Ola, for this episode🤘🏻!
Wolfgang is a fantastic human, and a deserved progeny of a musically tremendous family. Thank you for this fantastic interview
This is such a great interview! Bravo Ola! Wolf is a colossal talent just like this dad and uncle. He really seems like a truly genuine dude!
What an absolute pleasure to watch this chilled and humble gentleman! Such a kind and amazing dude! Thank you, Ola for chilling with this good egg 😊😊
Wolfie is an amazing musician!
Ola!! This is GREAT! Nice to see such down to earth interview style and Wolf is such an open and respectful guest.
This is awesome. Especially love his reflections on, and passion for, live music. Great get, Ola!
I absolutely love the music Wolfgang is putting out. I also cannot say how refreshing it is to hear the opinion of play your instrument live. I appreciate going to a performance where everyone is actually playing and no parts are "flown in". I've been to so many shows that my band covers and they don't have the ability to cover all the parts they did in the studio.
This young man is a great representation of his generation of rock. Very humble and appreciative. One of your best interviews Ola.
I was impressed with them at Download, his voice was great.
Wolfgang is such a sweet guy. I think it’s great that he’s finding his own way musically, yet he continues to help keep his fathers legacy rolling, from every angle. I’m sure dad smiles that iconic smile down on him each and everyday. Happy for you Wolfie. Miss you Eddie. Cheers Ola, this was an amazing surprise.👊🏻😎🖤
Yes, very affable and likable and absolutely no ego. That's impressive given his background on both his father and mother's side.
@@Siloguy I’m sure Wolfgang has seen what egos can do to you. He’s definitely a levelheaded guy.
Just two cool dudes hanging out. World needs more of this.
Great interview! I love to see Wolf molding into his own story, he’s so humble and amazing! His mom and dad did a wonderful job raising him, he’s just amazing! Love it!
With a tear in my eye, genuint glad för din skull Ola 🙏🏻❤️🎸
Well, that sure was a nice surprise! Wolf is an amazingly talented musician and seems like a genuinely good person. Like many young guitarists, Eddie was a big inspiration for me, but not in the same way as most others. Sure, he had some musical influence, but what hit me the hardest was when I found out that he was self-taught, just like me. It was the extra motivation I needed to keep me from getting frustrated and giving up. It's pretty rad to know that Wolf taught himself, too, and that he plays everything on his records. I started releasing music myself a couple years ago, and I played almost everything on my songs, aside from drums and 1 guitar solo. Love the music, Wolf! Keep it coming! Thanks for this, Ola!
The gaming talk warms my heart!
EVH did a wonderful job with his son. He’s uber talented and such a humble and chill cat. Having the best guitarist that ever lived as a father has to tough in some ways. He knew if he tried to emulate his dad people would sling darts at him. Very intelligent to do his own thing and be respected for it. Like DLR said about him when they toured in 2015, “the kid is bringing it. “
Ola, this was badass. 🤘 I don't think I've ever seen Wolfie as comfortable in an interview as he was with you. Just two iconic dudes talking music, gear, life, and video games; what more could you ask for?
I believe in the future of rock with this Kid!
He's done so well for himself. This was a really great surprise.
Saw Wolfgang at download festival last week, AMAZING way to start the festival. So down to earth and humble too.
I've gone from only being casually aware of Wolf to seeing him perform 4 times in less than 12 months, starting with the Taylor Hawkins concert in London, and then twice supporting Alter Bridge in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and also Metallica in Amsterdam. He seems like a really chill dude and he's making great fucking rock music 🤘
Such a well rounded man, and such a humble person, you guys had the best conversation, I love your dynamic, nothing forced and Louise Approved!!!!
He is round
Wolf having Coffee with Ola?!?! What could be better?!?! I've seen Wolf live 3 times now with Mammoth... wish I had seen him play with his dad! I'm very excited about the SA-126 semi-hollow guitar coming out! Ola... do you have a semi-hollow Solar guitar? I can imagine one, but very pointy and shready... it would be Chugaliscious! Thanks for this dropping on my birthday... it was like a special, magical gift! 😎🤘🎸🐦🎵🎶🎹🎼🐺
Wolfgang Van Halen? Nice Ola Wasn't expecting this. Wondering what you guys were going to jam to after interview. Probably some MESSUGAH 🤘⚡️🤘 Saw Wolf 2 years ago in Atlantic City open up for Guns"n"Roses. This young man is so talented. I wish him all the best on his musical journey. ROCK ON!
No matter what you think of Wolf’s music you have to give him props for wanting to walk his own path and he seems genuinely like a nice guy.
Wolfgang is awesome and mammoth wvh kick butt on stage I seen him three times now and it gets better every time I'm very fortunate to have caught one of Wolfgang's guitar picks and I have it proudly displayed with the guitar pick I caught from his pop
I saw Mammoth in Paris on May 19th, they were opening for Metallica and sounded WAY BETTER than Metallica ! I enjoyed the show very much, Wolfgang’s voice and guitar playing are just awesome live !! Congrats on everything 🎉🎉
Love Wolfie. Your live gigs are a thing people need to see. Keep going brother. Thank you Ola for this.
Great episode! Wolfgang sounds so humble and a cool dude
My head was so f'd up this morning. This whole conversation, the easy interaction, and the cool vibe rested my mind and grounded my legs. Maybe I can actually be productive still today!
Thanks, guys. I needed the pick-me-up.
Love your band ❤️ mammoth Rocks I love your first album. Love his voice he is awesome
Ola! I don’t think you remember, but I was the swedish kiddo dressed in black who shouted your name right after Pantera at Sweden Rock. I stood in the front row and was gonna give you one of the multiple picks I caught, but I was completely starstruck after the show and got a blackout. Love your content ❤🤘
Love Wolfie, he could so easily just live off his name but he is actually going out and grinding and making his own path. Hell of a player and song writer and from all accounts a really great dude.
Wellll he has no choice but to use the VH name. And he is using Mammoth which WAS VH name prior to renaming to Van Halen
That was an unexpected guest. I like that. Cool guy. I like he is doing his thing. It´s hundred percent not easy with a legend as a father.
I remember him starting playing bass in Van Halen and a lot of people thought that was "funny".
But hes a really good musician and songwriter too. He proved a lot of people over the years they where totally wrong. Well done Wolfgang 👍
What a great interview! I hope we get to see some of that jam session
Awesome! This is like the first channel I've seen interview WVH. He might just as well not existed in my universe because only a couple of people ever mentioned him in the past couple of years, before that nothing. But I saw the memorial gig some time ago and he kicked ass. And it's so wild to think that he was learning Chop Suey! as a kid just like I was. And I've been listening to 10 000 days so much for the past five years. And oh my god, to think that you'd tell to your dad "can you call Paul Gilbert to give me a lesson?" and he would. That's so, so unbelievably awesome. Just thinking of getting a lesson from Paul Gilbert. Like both those dudes, EVH and Gilbert seem like so extremely wholesome guys. I wouldn't even care how much they can teach, I'd just love to suck part of their love for music.
GREAT interview Ola!! Wolfgang is so humble, I love hearing people's "starting out" stories. Blink 182 tabs! Love it! We all suck at one point!
SICK!!! did not expect this!!! Awsome man!!!
OMG thank you for this Ola!
Champion, what a cool chilled respectful dude. Great interview Ola
Awesome get! Wolfie is def one of my fav newer artists
Wolf seems so likable, this was a great interview and the new Mammoth WVH album is killer!
What a nice kid! His dad and his mom must be very proud of him! Big fan of your music and yourself Wolfgang! Cheers from Brazil!
Much respect for Wolfie , so much talent. You can tell the apple didn't fall far from the tree , he learned from the master!
Killer interview Ola, Wolfgang is such a wonderful Human Being and Mammoth kicks ass.
Great interview ..thanx for making this. I really enjoyed it 🙂
I love Wolfgang. What a beautiful soul. ❤
Absolutely unexpected ❤❤
Well how cool was this!? W2G, Ola. WVH is the real deal. A very talented, dedicated musician that has done a great job at carving out his own deal.
Great interview! Thanks guys! 👊
Great interview! I enjoy watching your channel Ola, thank you!
He’s such a nice down to earth guy! His parents did good raising him. 👌
So glad I’m going to see him open for Metallica/Pantera. Wolf is a cool dude.
Awesome to see you both and just being real. Thanks!
Awesome interview! Thanks!
An incredible gig at Sweden rock festival 💪🏻👍🏻🤘🏻
FIRST WOOW. You never told us :D.
The best interview I heard in a very long time ! Great stuff
Thanks for the video! Cant wait for new release
