Humble, relaxed, down-to-earth. Wolfgang seems like an aweome dude! Massive respect for his multi-instrument ability, carving his own style and not trying to be his dad.
I was literally saying out loud to myself how humble Wolf sounds as I scrolled past your comment. Incredible for someone that grew up in his circumstances.
Wolfgang has the toughest gig in the world. Father is the greatest guitar player ever, and anything he does is compared to his father, or claimed that he's famous only because of his last name. But he really has his own thing going!
He doesn't really pale in the comparison. Of course he got all the possibilities to learn in the world as a kid, but still, he plays all these instruments on a professional level. Seems to be able to do all the dad jokes on guitar too so... He's the rare kid who doesn't have anything to fear from that comparison :)

The Taylor Hawkins concerts are proof that he s the real deal. I'm a massive fan! And, Ola - what a great interview. Wolf seemed so relaxed with you!
Totally love interviews with Wolf. He is such a great guy. Love the endearing Eddie Van Halen - Wolf stories. Wolf is his own person and he’s so humble and genuine. Love that EVH handed his legacy to Wolf, on that tour when EVH was still alive. I watched Wolf play bass on that tour and he’s a talented musician.
Man, as a big fan of his dad, I love how humble and easy-going Wolf is. What an awesome young man! Glad he's out doing his own thing and he's becoming successful.
Mad respect for him for doing his own thing, can’t be easy being the son of the greatest guitar player in history. Wolfgang seems like a really chill, great dude. Very natural and interesting convo!
I recently turned 50. Came up like many with massive respect for Eddie. My father was a musician and got me into music at a young age. At this time in my life, with kids of my own and recently losing my father, I have to say I enjoy watching this young man continue to develop and flourish on his own path. He seems like a genuinely good person and massive credit to Eddie and Valerie. Wolf is the son of rock guitar royalty but has found his own way and has his own style. Rock on Wolf! Love Wolfie, and loved the fact that the conversation wasn't pointed into EVH, but rather grazed thru it in a very natural way. Good friendly vibe all the way.
Since I saw the "Distance" video (which made me cry!), I've been a fan of Wolfgang. I mean, the multi instrumentalist thing is amazingly impressive, but it's his vocals that just absolutely slay me. Amazing stuff.

Saw Mammoth at Gröna Lund on Tuesday and the three guitars merged so well. Best guitar sound I've heard in a very long time! Also Wolfgang is an incredible singer! His sense of pitch is just perfect!
Such an inspiring young man. His inflections/timbre and mannerisms are quite reminiscent of his dad but is def a man of his own making. Remarkable parenting, Eddie. We miss you… Big thank you, Ola, for this episode🤘🏻!
The first time I've heard Wolfgang in conversation. Humble, extremely talented, multi talented at that! Being still a young dude, he can not only play like his dad, but he has the opportunity to break into his own style!
Great interview, very personable and real. Wolfgang is such a sensible, true, and down to earth person despite his talents and famous parents. I know Eddie had to be proud of him. Love how he wants to keep it real by playing it live without tracks. Tracks cheat both the audience and the performers.
His father was intensely proud of him & called it "long ago", that Wolfgang was the real deal & was going to go far. Why else do you think Ed & Al asked him to be in Van Halen! You think they would let just anyone in their band, even if it was one of their kids?! Yeah...NO. And he learned from the very best! Van Halen played live, each & every show, no reason uber talented Wolf would think to do anything different & cut any serious corners. (That would certainly piss off his father & uncle to no end!). They are all true musicians & they PLAY!
Wolfgang is such a sweet guy. I think it’s great that he’s finding his own way musically, yet he continues to help keep his fathers legacy rolling, from every angle. I’m sure dad smiles that iconic smile down on him each and everyday. Happy for you Wolfie. Miss you Eddie. Cheers Ola, this was an amazing surprise.👊🏻😎🖤
I absolutely love the music Wolfgang is putting out. I also cannot say how refreshing it is to hear the opinion of play your instrument live. I appreciate going to a performance where everyone is actually playing and no parts are "flown in". I've been to so many shows that my band covers and they don't have the ability to cover all the parts they did in the studio.
I saw Mammoth in Paris on May 19th, they were opening for Metallica and sounded WAY BETTER than Metallica ! I enjoyed the show very much, Wolfgang’s voice and guitar playing are just awesome live !! Congrats on everything 🎉🎉

EVH did a wonderful job with his son. He’s uber talented and such a humble and chill cat. Having the best guitarist that ever lived as a father has to tough in some ways. He knew if he tried to emulate his dad people would sling darts at him. Very intelligent to do his own thing and be respected for it. Like DLR said about him when they toured in 2015, “the kid is bringing it. “
Well, that sure was a nice surprise! Wolf is an amazingly talented musician and seems like a genuinely good person. Like many young guitarists, Eddie was a big inspiration for me, but not in the same way as most others. Sure, he had some musical influence, but what hit me the hardest was when I found out that he was self-taught, just like me. It was the extra motivation I needed to keep me from getting frustrated and giving up. It's pretty rad to know that Wolf taught himself, too, and that he plays everything on his records. I started releasing music myself a couple years ago, and I played almost everything on my songs, aside from drums and 1 guitar solo. Love the music, Wolf! Keep it coming! Thanks for this, Ola!

It doesn't surprise me how well spoken how humble Wolfie is , his parents raised him right, Wolf is going to be superstar and he has not relied on his father's is he carving on his own, path full respect , Mammoth is a band I would love see on solo tour, and to be honest he's type of young man you just love to sit have a cup and just chat about music, great interview Ola !! Your Dad is smiling down on you Wolfie extremely proud of what you have accomplished so far ,
Love Wolfie, he could so easily just live off his name but he is actually going out and grinding and making his own path. Hell of a player and song writer and from all accounts a really great dude.

I TRULY love how he has forged his own way and completely differentiated himself from his father. On top of being such a great musician he's almost impossible not to love as a human being!
Wolfgang is talented beyond measure, but is also clearly a lovely fellow too. I like the way he talks. Very soft spoken and full of warmth and kindness. Best wishes to him. This was a great interview.
Awesome! This is like the first channel I've seen interview WVH. He might just as well not existed in my universe because only a couple of people ever mentioned him in the past couple of years, before that nothing. But I saw the memorial gig some time ago and he kicked ass. And it's so wild to think that he was learning Chop Suey! as a kid just like I was. And I've been listening to 10 000 days so much for the past five years. And oh my god, to think that you'd tell to your dad "can you call Paul Gilbert to give me a lesson?" and he would. That's so, so unbelievably awesome. Just thinking of getting a lesson from Paul Gilbert. Like both those dudes, EVH and Gilbert seem like so extremely wholesome guys. I wouldn't even care how much they can teach, I'd just love to suck part of their love for music.
i was there close to the stage, stood there for almost 10 hours to see Pantera. Mammoth did a great job and so did Pantera. thank you so much Wolfgang for an amazing show! i didnt even know it was your band before i walked over to your stage and i was blown away by how good you played and i really loved that foo fighters cover! good luck to you man :D
Incredible talent yet grounded and humble at the same time. He’s an impressive young man talent not withstanding. I love his music - preordered the second album and can’t wait for it to drop.
Great interview. I am really liking this kid more and more as he progresses with his career. I admit I was a complete doubter towards him when he took over on bass for the final VH album and tour but now that it's a whole new universe with his own band and playing/recording all the instruments on his Mammoth albums... Wow. Wolf definitely has a rare gift for music and I can't wait to hear more of it in the future.

I stood in the front row and was gonna give you one of the multiple picks I caught, but I was completely starstruck after the show and got a blackout. Love your content ❤🤘
Wellll he has no choice but to use the VH name. And he is using Mammoth which WAS VH name prior to renaming to Van Halen
What a nice kid! His dad and his mom must be very proud of him! Big fan of your music and yourself Wolfgang! Cheers from Brazil!
Wolfgang Van Halen? Nice Ola Wasn't expecting this. Wondering what you guys were going to jam to after interview. Probably some MESSUGAH 🤘⚡️🤘 Saw Wolf 2 years ago in Atlantic City open up for Guns"n"Roses. This young man is so talented. I wish him all the best on his musical journey. ROCK ON!
I TRULY love how he has forged his own way and completely differentiated himself from his father. On top of being such a great musician he's almost impossible not to love as a human being!
Well how cool was this!? W2G, Ola. WVH is the real deal. A very talented, dedicated musician that has done a great job at carving out his own deal.
Nothing but respect for him. One of the best examples of a professional musician today and a future legend
Great episode! Wolfgang sounds so humble and a cool dude
The gaming talk warms my heart!
GREAT interview Ola!! Wolfgang is so humble, I love hearing people's "starting out" stories. Blink 182 tabs! Love it! We all suck at one point!
Thanks for putting this together Ola! Wolfgang is such an awesome guy, I have massive respect for him. I can't wait to hear the new album!
Awesome get! Wolfie is def one of my fav newer artists
Much respect for Wolfie , so much talent. You can tell the apple didn't fall far from the tree , he learned from the master!
Wolf seems so likable, this was a great interview and the new Mammoth WVH album is killer!
He’s such a nice down to earth guy! His parents did good raising him. 👌
Killer interview Ola, Wolfgang is such a wonderful Human Being and Mammoth kicks ass.
i was there close to the stage, stood there for almost 10 hours to see Pantera. Mammoth did a great job and so did Pantera. thank you so much Wolfgang for an amazing show! i didnt even know it was your band before i walked over to your stage and i was blown away by how good you played and i really loved that foo fighters cover! good luck to you man :D
So glad I’m going to see him open for Metallica/Pantera. Wolf is a cool dude.
Incredible talent yet grounded and humble at the same time. He’s an impressive young man talent not withstanding. I love his music - preordered the second album and can’t wait for it to drop.
Champion, what a cool chilled respectful dude. Great interview Ola
An incredible gig at Sweden rock festival 💪🏻👍🏻🤘🏻
I normally don't do podcast format stuff, but i was interested and i really enjoyed it. Wolfgang is so down to earth, great interview.
Absolutely unexpected ❤❤
