I like the idea of having to find an enchantment template (like the armor trim) then any librarian can copy it into a book for an emerald price

  • @WaynesWorld69

Personally I'd prefer to see the enchantment table and anvil systems be reworked. The villager tied to the biome seems to be a "fix" without a real fix.

  • @FenrirInFlowers

I certainly hope they've dropped these ideas for villager rebalancing. While well intentioned, I think these biome specific trades would be highly detrimental to player creativity.

  • @johnmorris8621

I believe every player should explore as much of their world as they themselves see fit. This Biome dependent mechanic interferes with that.

The villager resettlement program was not a very good idea IMHO and yes, they really need to step up their communication on things.

Out of the proposed changes, I think Mojang could still use some of their ideas...... they just needed to weed out the bits that were a REALLY bad idea. The big thing I've said since the beginning of this nurf idea is that they needed to think about the players who didn't have the confidence to roam thousands of blocks from spawn as well as the people who just didn't have the time. They were the ones who would ultimately suffer the most. There were still a couple of bits that would definitely be a good idea to look into.

My issue was if you were a traditional skyblock or flatworld player it pretty much destroyed your world.

Mojang us trying to kill their golden goose. Im done no more updates if this goes thru

  • @adamgeigerjr6995

Its not just the villager nerfs ... its the focus on such meaningless early/mid game stuff & still zero investment into a better "end game"

  • @BoomMC_Inc

It wasn't a villager nerf. It was a librarian inconvenience update. It made the game worse.

  • @mikegwillis

Wish they would make Jungle, Swamp and Cherry Grove villages ...

I have been playing worlds with the villager trade nerf for a while now and really like it with one addition. The show all trades pack. All the travel is much more interesting than rolling villagers. And having to setup bases in all the different biomes is also a fun challenge.

  • @ElderShottsV

One way to combat this,( I know this won't be for everyone) is to just get all your villagers squared away before this is ever implemented into the game especially on longterm worlds.

I love the idea of moving the librarian trades between biomes, but the fact that the specific enchanted books aren’t the max trade, if they took that away, I’d be ok with it

I just started a world with the 1.21 and Librarian updates turned on (MC Bedrock). But I'm also using the Magic Add-On, so I can easily Teleport those Villagers back to my home base after I find them. I'm also kind of forcing myself to NOT Speed Run as well, so I need to reach certain levels before I can access/do specific tasks. Like lvl 50 lets me enter the Nether, 100 = The End, 150 = Automated Farms, 200 = The Wither... or something to that affect, plus minor quests for each. This will kind of force me to explore more and find these Librarians too.

Do you think Mojang puts out ideas like the villager nerfs, knowing it won't be liked, to drive feedback on ways it could change in ways the community would like?

  • @jonnyblaze2692

I liked the changes, especially for the armorers and the wandering trader. The enchanted books sucked because they didn't offer the highest level. Other than mending i usually just build my own books using xp farms and enchanting table

  • @RayDarkShadows

I don't like how they took away a bunch of books from the villagers making it almost impossible to acquire other books since the enchantment table kind of sucks. It's not like it's easy to get them to trade what you want, the constant lectern breaking and placing is already tedious so, I don't see why they call it "rebalancing"

  • @ThePurplePassage

The villager nerf probably died with kingbdog's post talking about how everyone was fine without mending before they got accustomed to it

  • @Jeannie649

They need to fix the enchanting table. Communicate with the community.
