On 29 February 2012, Davy Jones was found seated in his car complaining of chest pains and having difficulty breathing. He was rushed to Hospital in Stuart, Florida where he was pronounced dead of a severe heart attack. Jones is survived by his widow, Jessica, and four daughters from previous marriages. He was the lead singer of the Monkees. This song is called "I wanna be free"
Davy Jones was my first love too. I could listen to his voice forever. He was such a big part of my teenage years. There will never be another man like Davy Jones because God threw away the mold when he made Davy. When I heard he died I cried a lot. As someone else said Davy is leading the choir in heaven and he is the sweetest angel of all. You will always be missed & remembered forever.

Davy was one of my first crushes. At 8 years old I had no idea what the song was about but it made me cry. Love you still, Davy.

What a sweet song, compared to now the sixties was a more innocent time. So the romantic mood seems believable from this era.
Hasn’t been a cuter guy since Davy & I doubt there will be!!!! He was pretty perfect looking, I don’t see any flaws!!! Loved his singing, always loved it when Davy sang the lead. He’s singing in the Choir in Heaven with the Angels now & I bet it’s beautiful to hear. 💕

Davy Jones left behind a great legacy of songs that will always be remembered and cherished for many years into the future. He was a member of a great rock n' roll band "The Monkees"

I love the Monkees , they were and still are a great band, miss you Davy and this song always takes me back to the Monkees concert in Portsmouth UK back in the 90's, what a fantastic show it was.

I truly loved this song as a little girl, and Davy Jones, when my older sisters were crushing on him like mad.
But now that I got to understand the lyrics, it isn't such a sweet song after all. It's a jerk song camouflaged as romantic. Lol, I love it for the melody and Davy's voice, nevertheless.

Her name was Katherine Walsh. She was 19 when they filmed this. Sadly she died in 1970 at the age of 23 from a drug overdose.
