I met David in 1971 the night before a concert he was giving at Monticello Raceway in New York. It was raining and he was the only other person sitting at the concession stand. He was wearing a suede floppy hat and sunglasses apparently an attempt to disguise himself. Me being a young teenage girl, I recognized that look that he was thinking Oh no here we go again. I told him not to worry, I wasn’t going to bother him and that I had problems of my own. (My mom and I had just gotten into a fight). He genuinely seemed to care and we just started chatting. I told him that I was attending his concert the following afternoon and he asked me what I was going to be wearing so he could pick me out of the crowd and dedicate a song to me, which he did. Terribly saddened over his death.

This song, The Partridge Family, & Mr David Cassidy take me back to a magical time when the world was full of promise, & anything was possible. It's funny how so many people repeat that line about how this song "knocked the Beatles out of number 1." According to the Billboard rankings, the two Beatles number 1 hits in 1970 achieved that ranking much earlier in the year, way before "I Think I Love You" which came along in the fall of 1970 and actually took over the number 1 spot from The Jackson 5 song, "I'll Be There", not The Beatles. Some also claim it was the top selling song of 1970...no that would be Bridge Over Troubled Waters.

must be very PROUD of them"!!!! My mother said, " These are my twins and my youngest"!!!! When we got done everyone was
cheering and applauding us!!!!! My mother then told everyone, " My children have been dancing since they were babies and can

One thing is certain: apart from his incredible appearance in his heyday, his voice was so unique, soulful and powerful in one. He also wrote good songs, could play the piano and guitar. David Cassidy was not only revered as the best looking guy, but especially because he was a great musician! Thank you for the music. RIP David Cassidy

I held hands and kissed my first girlfriend to this song at a little preteen "sock-hop". I can still feel that surge of first love that you never really experience again in quite the same way. The kind of deeply dramatic love that makes you hug and kiss your pillow in bed and whisper all the hot teary declamations of passionate love that you wish was the object of your desire. All such a painfully melodramatic and inevitable part of growing up I wouldn't have missed for the world.

And most young girls back then felt exactly the same; these were amazing years to be coming of age and songs like this are part of the soundtrack of those lives. If nothing else, l can say l was blessed to be a part of this time.

So many memories from my younger days traveling with my family. Had this song copied on a cassette with Knock Three Times and Sugar Sugar. Plus others. I had only 1 tape which was played on my tape recorder, over and over. In a small car with my parents and sister from Virginia to Tennessee and down west coast Florida and up east coast, during Christmas break. Im pretty sure after two weeks, my dad confiscated the tape once home.

Tony Romeo signature masterpiece. David was amazing , what a handsome man and that voice. Its funny the production company Screen Gems never knew David had such a great voice and agreed to let him sing lead along with his Stepmom Shirley Jones. And as they say the rest is history !

Zoe Lopez The 70s had the best TV shows @ Music. I got lucky Allman Brothers played at a local Bar. Im good friends with Johnny Reznic from GOO GOO DOLLS in Buffalo,NY The Rolling Stones played here 6 times. It sucks Buffalo is looked down on cause of our winter weather, I will admit some winters Lake Erie dumps 10-12 feet. Buffalo is lucky Niagara Falls is close for Tourists. Its cool having Canada for a Neighbor

@das 1988 Indulge my Compulsive need to refine a quote worth pondering with constructive observations. If you can utilize words as you did "Barometer", you shouldn't overlook typo's like "Movie." Also, the proper application of the difference between effect and affect. You chose incorrectly with effect. Just Sayin.... : )

They don't make them like they used to. How many shows nowadays have a Format like the Patridge Family and the Monkees for example which the cast does a show and tune at the end.....Unique. Those days are missed but thanks to the Internet can be re-lived. Love their songs also!
