Hearing that Cow Bell, you know it's FM, & Mick. No one else can do it quite like he does. ------so different on her solo tours. ---------------------WolfSky9, 72 y/o
While I was into pat Benatar in 1983 , high school, my friend Jessica loved Stevie and wanted to be her. In 2024 I listen to Stevie 80 percent more than Pat.
Actually this is how she performed GDW during these years. Wasn't cause she was blasted. 🙄 She has expanded it much more now. Has for past 15-20 yrs. And changes r deff not due to being hi. 😂
Awesome stuff!!! I remember wanting to go to this concert but I was too young! Now watching it it's kind of like I went to it now...Thanks for sharing!!!
Well for us oldies that were there, yt is just amazing to have and watch our old bands. Some we saw and many we didn't. I come across bands / singers I had forgotten about but loved back in the day. All at our fingertips now. Us kids use to have to sit around a radio praying for the dj to play that song... When it finally came on, we all tried to write the lyrics as fast as we could. 😄😄 It usually took many listens to finally get all the lyrics.
yeah, hopefully we will come across the entire set. i notice that this was a show from the summer of 78. i wonder if they did Sisters of the Moon at this show. i have an early live version of sisters that they performed at the end of the Rumours tour. its cool to hear hgow the song changed form that incarnation, to the studio version and then to the live version on the tust tour and then on the mirage tour.
In this video she still has that innocents in her voice and look, a softer Stevie if you will. Just finding that strength and having that knowledge that has molded her into the woman we all love today . Timeless, ethereal ,strength, and beauty. Put into a tiny little box of dynamite. I swear i would buy an album of her simply vocalizing ...no words needed just that perfect raw emotion.
I love her, too. She prefers to be in the back "with the boys." She never got her due.... but I think she is really shy and is ok with that. I also think she is glad to have Stevie and Lindsay willing to front the band.
I love the way she ends the song (a sort of a chant for lack of another word)..it's a tad bit different from the 77 Japan version..not much but just a bit..I wish she'd sing it that way nowadays..
Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever know unless we can get to ask her personally, but it could be that at the time she might have forgotten the words and made them up as she sang..I saw once where they have teleprompters with the words of the song the group was singing..maybe back then they didnt have that..I'll have to pay closer attention to the song now..lol..
I love it when she changes the words. She's changed Rhiannon lyrics many times over in places. I think it shows she's a true artist and her songs remain a living creation - not something frozen eternally in one version.
Unfortunately, I still cant't hear the change of words..anywho, it's a great vid with or without the changing of words..as a matter of fact, that's with any song by any singer, I just cant seem to listen to the words that closely unless it's the reprise or just repeated so many times that I can't miss it..oh well..
@@bkswanson2461 And with Lindsey's psychedelic guitar sounds around her, it's really quite the experience! Where would we be without those witchy wails...no one else like her.
No I don't... :( It was only a partial recording to begin with... I apologize. Maybe somewhere out there the full concert exists! You are very welcome by the way!
its so interesting to see how GDW performance has evolved over the yrs...now Stevie does her coke dance with her infamous gold shawl, lasting a good 10mins or so!!
The great old days my queen take me with you the most beautiful good witch living on this Earth today take me with you my queen rock on forever and ever you beautiful beautiful good witch I sang your songs on my life you are my life take me with you my queen take me with you
First off, let it be known that I've always been a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks. I'm a man, and I've performed several of their songs on stage countless times both playing guitar and singing........mainly as either a solo acoustic act or acoustic duo. Folks everywhere have sworn to me that I sound exactly like Stevie Nicks, and I was always blown away by that. But I've gotta say, this is already the 2nd LIVE performance of this song from the 70's where Stevie Nicks totally screws up the lyrics.......and she wrote the lyrics for this song. This was obviously due to all of the cocaine & alcohol they were abusing at the time. Of course countless other bands have fallen victim to drugs & alcohol as well. It's just sad, really.
Shes definitely high off her ass here!!😂😂 I love these performances.. at least it's showing the real reality of the rock star life
she is the most beautiful talented high singer

I will love Stevie Nicks and FM forever.
This music defined and shaped our lives. We were there. We lived this with them. Xo
I was there!!!! 20 years old.
I love the ending. Her wild throaty cries are awesome!
While I was into pat Benatar in 1983 , high school, my friend Jessica loved Stevie and wanted to be her. In 2024 I listen to Stevie 80 percent more than Pat.
She is thinking the words and there is quite the delay when it comes out of her mouth. she was so high!
Stevie is so high here. Love the change of tempo in this.
***** Yeah, her timing is a little off in some places here, but she's ever the enchantress still...
Why do you say that - because she wipes her nose?!
Yes.very much

I just missed the Beatles. My older brother saw them and even had a Beatle haircut until he went in the military.

yep. they were ALL bloody high.

Yes, Sisters of The Moon from this show is on UA-cam.

Thanks so much for posting this. This song is so profound in many ways. Definitely magical.
Christine McVie was also great, but always in the shadows. She did three solo albums. I wore them out like anything FM.
I love her, too. She prefers to be in the back "with the boys." She never got her due.... but I think she is really shy and is ok with that. I also think she is glad to have Stevie and Lindsay willing to front the band.
@@paulk9985 whatever they did that worked for them made them legends!! 💚
Check out her bluesy sound with early Fleetwood Mac and Chicken Shack. Christine Perfect then but her voice was made for the Blues!!!!
Lindsey’s playing is so awesome in this clip!

I agree. I hate how she changes the words now. Really annoying. IMO. She should sing it how she wrote it.

the consummate rockstar.
Mick's jungle drumming makes the song go.
High as a kite but still phenomenal❤❤❤❤
A person can be very creative when high!
In my humble opinion, I think the drugs amplified the band's talent.. But I could be wrong. ✌☺
Even when she is sober! Her recent crack dance performance during this song on the last few tours is fantastic
You can be just as creative if not more so without drugs. I'd like to enjoy their music without some idiot mentioning drugs.

How u.get it.
No doubt "prior to this performance she had made use of the Gold dust woman's Silver spoon.
Ever-Nicks.period !
The ending is cut on the VHS. Sorry
awesome, thanks for postinf. do you have the entire set?
A tad bizarre. Yep, higher than a kite, but not in a functional way. They usually are better when they're high, but she was just too out of it.
Hard to see, but that doesn't look like Buckingham on lead guitar, which might explain part of it.
We were all high back then!

The Capital Center
Something very "Doorsy" here. Jim Morrison vibes
She would definitely be the female Jim for sure

did LB have his hair short in 78? hmmm
He had just cut it only a few weeks before this August '78 show.

Not their best performance.
heard Willie Nelson wrote and gave it to her, didn't want credit.pretty cool if it's true.
no Stevie Nicks wrote gold dust woman
Stephanie wrote it herself...
Alltribeslady17 17 Stevie writes all her songs
Stevie wrote this. Waylon Jennings covered it on the Waylon and Willie album.
Not true at all. The song was famously written by Stevie as she and the entire band descended into cocaine addiction.
