Stevie Nicks is so generous to her backup singers, too. She's really lets them have not just some harmonies but some total lines just between the three of them. She gives them the same love she gives her fans and that we give her; it's like a harmony between her, the band and backup singers, and us but a harmony of love for all of us and that's part of what makes her songs and performances so special! She's a very classy lady with a true gift and the generosity to really dig into the material and give us a piece of herself. We're so blessed to have her with us!
I was just looking who sang the "stand back!!!" at the end, and found this live performance, and see it's the lady on the left, which is Sharon Celani. She truly gives them some serious vocal volume in the mix! Love it...

Sharon, Lori and Marilyn look listless and unprofessional . Look at how the backing singers for Stevie looked later like 2004 etc and on...not hardly moving and looking classy instead of Lori jumping around waving her arms circa the 80's!!!!! I love that she did that. I don't see a point to having the artist appear live if you're just gonna make them lip sync. However, on the Crystal Visions DVD audio commentary, Stevie repeatedly mentions how long it took before she felt she got good at lip syncing. She might have demanded a pure live performance MAYBE because of that. Watch the music video for "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" for instance. Later in the 80's you can find her doing lip synced performances. I think there's one from Top of the Pops for "Rooms On Fire."
Debbie Harry pretty much said the same thing in 1981, when she performed, "Call Me" live. And, just like Stevie, she rocked it. Yet another reason why these 2 women are forever cool.
At 2:15, Lori Perry, Marylin Martin, Sharon Celani, in that order. And OMG, this Solid Gold performance is 38 yrs old! Stevie was only 35 when this was broadcast!

I love this song from the early 80s. This rare performance was stunning. The moment when Stevie dances with the male backup dancer is magical. Love Stevie Nicks. I admire his woman since I was living in Colombia back in the early 80s, a truly artist.
Everytime I see her it makes my heart flutter and then I hear her voice and I just melt. I've had a crush on Stevie Nicks since I was 10 years old and I will until the day I die.
GOD I MISS THE 80s . There has never been and never will be another time as great as the early 80s. It was pure magic. You could feel it in the air. It was intoxicating.
This is one of the best and most pure musical performances I have ever seen. From Ms. Nicks to the band and the backup singers. It encompasses the song, time, and the essence of all of them.
1) Excellent print. 2) I always thought Solid Gold did lip sync. That is one of the reasons I never watched. If you can perform live on Burt Sugarman's Midnight Special, you can sing live on any TV program. and 3) To hear Stevie improvise new lyrics is exciting.
Stevie Nicks wrote this song and collaborated with Prince. In an interview I watched, Stevie said she heard "Little Red Corvette" on the radio and wrote "Stand Back" and contacted Prince to ask if he would be interested in working with her on the song and Prince immediately said "Yes". She said he arranged and produced it. Also, Stevie said that they both owned the song (She and Prince) 50/50 ownership. She is truly a classy lady and a "real" artist and honest too. So many artists Prince has collaborated with and worked with over his career -- he touched so many lives. ua-cam.com/video/U_nAAl1PTLM/v-deo.html
Some organizations give a pseudonym and Stevie Nicks as the writers. That pseudonym is Prince! Prince + Stevie Nicks may have met back in the 1970s: both stayed in The Bay Area ( Record Plant in Saucelito) to record their albums. Another Bay Area story. Prince once asked Jonathan Cain of Journey if he needed credit for a song that Prince thought sounded similar to Faithfully. JC said no; inspiration =/= sampling. JC had his blessing on Prince!
Prince helped with music arrangement. The synthesizer is integral to this song and that part was composed and played same night he was asked to. I am a big Nick's fan and Prince was first class in every way. The negative press he received is simply inconsistent with who he was. Possibly the most generous artist ....Ever.
I'm so glad I got the opportunity to see her perform in Seattle last year. She's about my age in this performance and is still rocking it all these years later. I will see her every chance I can, she's such a beautiful person and incredibly talented performer.
Simply iconic! A lot of great female singers throughout history but Stevie is up there with the best of them! Congrats on being the first female inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame......TWICE! I remember seeing her back in the early 90's at the old amphitheater at Canada's Wonderland.....AMAZING!

This has got to be my most favorite of her outfits - she looks so beautiful. Solid Gold takes me way back but the lip syncing was hokey - glad Stevie insisted on doing this live! Stand Back has always been one of my favorite songs which who would have ever thought my two favorite artists in the entire world had collaborated on. Prince and the Queen of Rock and Roll...royalty together.
No one looked as I walked by Just an invitation would have been just fine Said no to him again and again First, he took my heart, then he ran No one knows how I feel What I say unless you read between my lines One man walked away from me First, he took my hand, take me home Stand back, stand back In the middle of my room I did not hear from you It's all right, it's all right To be standing in a line Standing in a line I would cry Do not turn away, my friend Like a willow I can bend No man calls my name No man came So I walked on down away from you Maybe your attention was more Than you could do One man did not call He asked me for my love And that was all Stand back
Stevie Nicks is the real deal. She always sings live and she has never or rarely lip-synched in her career. When I watch her performances I have never seen her lip-sync. She is a true rockstar and she has been through a lot during her career, but she still came through it all and is stronger than ever. I have so much respect for this lady for doing whatever she wants to do with her music and also taking part in Fleetwood Mac and being loyal to the band that made her and its other members stars to begin with. Stevie Nicks is one cool lady and I hope that she continues to make new music. We need a woman like her in the music industry. :)
Absolutely love this....ESPECIALLY when that dancer came up to her and started moving and grooving to the beat..sooo sexy the way they danced to this!! WOW
19 dislikes?! i feel sorry for you close-minded "people". why watch if you KNOW from the start what it is? are so narrow minded that you don't like it because she changed it up a little...like she's ALWAYS done with all her and Fleetwood's brilliant songs?! oooohhhhh...for SHAME!!! i'm so glad that i got to see something i remember from my childhood, because i watched "solid gold" EVERY week...and i remember this. so thank you so much JEFFREY CHRIST for uploading for people who appreciate it!
Why not throwing all this modern shit away and just recreate the late 80s forever!!! Music, Filter quality, movie style, hair styles, orange lipstick, the coke, aerobic,.... I MISS ALL THIS AND I WASN'T EVEN BORN THEN! 😭😭
Damn, Stevie Nicks I just saw you in the season finale of American Horror Story Coven and you sang Seven Wonders Live. It was like 1987 all over again. I had no idea you did two episodes, as soon as the episode starts the music starts and you walk in the door and start singing. Love Stevie Nicks.
Stevie Nicks is an amazing performer and songwriter! She has put everything she has into her music over the past four decades and how lucky are we that she shares her stories with us. "Stand Back" is one of my favorites from Stevie. I loved seeing Stevie mentoring on American Idol. She could certainly teach today's "artists" a thing or two!
If you never saw Stevie Nicks live on stage, you missed One Of The Seven Wonders Of Rock . This is just a sample of the kind of performance she exhibits on stage with Fleetwood Mac. She was, and still is,A Force of Nature. Her talent is unbelievable-Singer,Song Writer,Artist, and Poet.
Camera man missed the best shot of Stevie when she said "NO......It's really NOT ALRIGHT". That was THE magic moment of the song and was not caught on tape. This is a great version of Stand Back never the less.

Agreed 💯%
No one looked as I walked by
Just an invitation would have been just fine
Said no to him again and again
First, he took my heart, then he ran
No one knows how I feel
What I say unless you read between my lines
One man walked away from me
First, he took my hand, take me home
Stand back, stand back
In the middle of my room
I did not hear from you
It's all right, it's all right
To be standing in a line
Standing in a line
I would cry
Do not turn away, my friend
Like a willow I can bend
No man calls my name
No man came
So I walked on down away from you
Maybe your attention was more
Than you could do
One man did not call
He asked me for my love
And that was all
Stand back
Stevie Nicks is the real deal. :)
She's still performing and I'm happy she didn't stop
Solid gold was on channel 10 Australia in early 80's, great performances, stevie in particular
Absolutely love this....ESPECIALLY when that dancer came up to her and started moving and grooving to the beat..sooo sexy the way they danced to this!! WOW
This is one of the best live shows for stand back i've seen :)
Her performance brings chills on my spine. Out of this world awesome!
Solid gold omg was a great time of life ,,wasn't like tose days now
Stevie always rocks it!! Even in 2020 this woman is a rock goddess!!!! 💜💜💜💜
Hot as hell how I miss my decade the 80’s🤓😭😪
David chin hell we all miss the 80's better yet I'miss mom,
Same. Let’s go back!
Why not throwing all this modern shit away and just recreate the late 80s forever!!! Music, Filter quality, movie style, hair styles, orange lipstick, the coke, aerobic,.... I MISS ALL THIS AND I WASN'T EVEN BORN THEN! 😭😭
@@Ehre95akaFisha the coke! 😂😂 I was just a little kid in the 80s, but I remember watching all this awesome music, and I miss it too.
Damn, Stevie Nicks I just saw you in the season finale of American Horror Story Coven and you sang Seven Wonders Live. It was like 1987 all over again.
I had no idea you did two episodes, as soon as the episode starts the music
starts and you walk in the door and start singing. Love Stevie Nicks.
There were great 80s songs and then there were the best.
Her talent is unbelievable-Singer,Song Writer,Artist, and Poet.
one of the few live performances on Solid Gold that wasn't lip-synched
SIMPLY INCREDIBLE IN EVERY FACET ~
Love that hot dance sequence in the middle. Prime 80s shit
Camera man missed the best shot of Stevie when she said "NO......It's really NOT ALRIGHT". That was THE magic moment of the song and was not caught on tape. This is a great version of Stand Back never the less.
And he missed it twice
Such a beautiful woman who sings a classic song
2021 who's with me listening? Forever on my playlist 🥰
2022 I miss her in the seventies and eighties. Haley Rinehart has my attention atm.
2023😊
Waddy Watchel was lucky to play with both Linda Ronstadt and Stevie Nicks ❤
Wonderful performance.
I would love to just sit and talk with this amazing woman. Such a legend!
Can somebody please tell me where the MUSIC has gone? I feel like I grew up with this women ! Thank you Stevie
