Gold Dust Woman during its Rumours tour was Stevie at her best. She really gave it her all. Many times she would be sprawled out on the stage doing the wailing at the end. Oh how I miss her early performances. This one from NYC 1977 is still awesome in my book! Thanks for posting the audio (and the wailing is suppose to be creepy and haunting...makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up).

I watched a series called "Classic Albums Rumors", it showed them explaining the production! Unfortunately it didn't show Richard talking about taping Stevie wailing! It might be VH1! "Witch" should be researched as a word. Hollyweird has done much to demonize, as has Christian dogma. I am a HUGE fan of Stevie, I am a singer. She is unafraid of delving into the parts that are not homogenized and pretty, which makes her the goddess she is and I would even call her a High Priestess.

I remember a guy that TOTALLY looked like Iovine (but def could have been Dashut) & he was talking in the 3rd person about taping her while she was wailing! I thought I was showing Stevie my love, plus I was so excited that I could barely hold it in. But I've since learned that bands don't like for you to scream since you can't hear the music if you're screaming. It's disrespectful to the band and other audience members. Beatlemania was a bad influence on a lot of people, I think.

Due to their individual addictions they were not allowed to leave (because if they did, it would be nearly impossible to get them back in the studio) so one night - for a break - Stevie went down and starting making these noises playing piano, Jimmy - unbenounced to Stevie - recorded them! Rest History!
I have watched many of her videos she can sing very high and has strong lungs, I do believe it is her, she has a video where she hits the various notes while singing go google it, it is her range of vocals, she is that incredible of a singer.. proof in hearing it.
