It has to be asked: _why_ exactly is Dagan Gera attacking Cal Kestis to begin with? Just look into Dagans' personal background: his only goal was to return to Tanalorr in order to establish a Jedi Enclave on a planet in a corner of the Galaxy that couldn't be reached through normal Hyperspace: making it an effective location for future generations of Padawans and Jedi Knights to receive training without being attacked by external forces. Then when the Nihil randomly arrived in orbit and forced the Jedi Order to retreat from Tanalorr; he wanted to stay behind and fight for the world only to be denied and betrayed by the Council of that era and left in stasis within a Bacta Tank. Cut to when Cal Kestis shows up: telling him that the Jedi Order had collapsed and the few remaining Jedi are being hunted down by the Galactic Empire and Cal wants Dagan to lead him to Tanalorr: with the hopes of bringing other surviving Jedi and Force-Sensitives to the world as well to restart their Order. Coupled with the fact that the Jedi Council that betrayed him is long dead and that Dagan had no clue Rayvis was still alive: Cal Kestis has just given Dagan Gera a second chance to fulfill his original goal, along with the chance that through this act of vindication by history would grant Dagan an informal promotion to Jedi Master due to his seniority as both a surviving Jedi from the High Republic Era and as the man responsible for first discovering Tanalorr and building the Jedi Enclave there. Dagan becoming an antagonist in this fashion makes absolutely no sense.
"as well to restart their Order" This is where you're mistaken. Dagan is never ever bringing back the Order that betrayed him, he would slaughter all of the Hidden Path and their teachings.
@@th0r0shvener52 Blatantly false. It's all too likely that if Dagan was presented with the Hidden Path and the knowledge contained therein, he would have likely kept the original teachings around for future generations of Jedi to learn from not as a basis for the Order going forward, but instead to serve as a cautionary tale of what happens if the Order secludes itself from the Galaxy or serves Politicians instead of working for the everyday people of the Galaxy at-large like the Orders' principles were originally founded upon.
@@0hvist It's not likely because it never happened. You're giving Dagan far too much credit in ability to be reasonable after all that happened to him especially after getting betrayed by his own master. He is no reasonable person and is not in a mindset to cooperate with any one from the Hidden Path. The visuals already give you the answer, look at the kyber crystal bleeding and the force echoes on Devastated settlement. They went with a "Show Don't Tell" approach.
I like the idea behind Tanalorr. Reminds me of some of the really crazy stuff we left behind in Legends. Like the planet where they make living bioships.

You know, always did suspect that wasn't actually bacta in that tank. I mean, not that we know much about his species and how long they live but in the game cal even puts emphasis that he was "preserved in bacta." I think it's water from Tanalorr. I'm thinking they're setting 3 up for a time skip to get cal into post "a new hope" territory without having him age.

Hollywoke are doing feministm agenda and purge all male legacy today.
They can't make series with strong male character without giving woke agenda in script.
Kenobi was great
@@Ayyothatsbrandogaming aintnoway lil bro 💀💀💀
@@rochin76123 When you start a new trilogy with new characters, you're always forced to give the audience a backstory to get the audience invested. Incompetence and a lack of imagination are the real reasons why we didn't get good characters and a good stories in live action.
I want this guy playable in both sides, dark and light
Funny thing Anakin can definitely understand perfectly to Dagan
They tried so hard to make him like Anakin, even used his lines
so this is how red kyber crystals are made, by giving your anger to normal kyber crystal
(its also called bleeding kybers)
First time seeing a crystal bleed! Blew my fucking mind! Great fight and score and honestly everything but the crashes
Although I’m not a huge fan of the High republic stuff, it is kinda cool to actually see the era (somewhat) finally. I hope this video game won’t be the only time we see this era in media
You're already have the entirety of Project Luminous, and the upcoming Young Jedi Adventures, The Acolyte. Eclipse is also supposed to be set during THR but it isn't coming out anytime soon.
We need a show based in this.
Stewie griffin: maybe ummm maybe that’s why he was locked up.
Came to this video because i just had that cut scene play and got distracted for 2 seconds and all of a sudden we were fighting so thank you cuz i totally missed the part when he bled the crystal
Such a badass intro to a villain.
I jumped when he looked at the camera. Straight freaky chills
Tbh I kinda wish he kept his yellow lightsaber and was just kind of in denial that he was falling to the dark side
Those 5 seconds of dueling were better choreographed than the whole sequel trilogy.
Agreed, I always say that ten second hologram of Anakin killing jedi in rots has better choreography than all the sequel lightsaber duels put together
Bro was so strong he bled a crystal in seconds 😮
Dagan Gera was channeling his inner OP Shanks but Sith mode!! Quite strong for a one arm man.
Honestly, Cal escalated the situation by activating his saber.
That “ what have you done!” Was so good
4:52
"A Sith LORD?!"
Who took over the galaxy, create the empire and wiped out the Jedi with only a few left
I like the idea behind Tanalorr. Reminds me of some of the really crazy stuff we left behind in Legends. Like the planet where they make living bioships.
Even before he bled the crystal, I knew he was going to based on how he was talking.
After watching acolyte I had to come back and watch a actual good scene of someone going to the dark side 😂 why can’t we get a story like this 😭
Oh man, is this gonna be the Space Vergil? God I hope he's the Space Vergil.
Or Space Sephiroth.
Focus
This is that one episode of spongebob where Man Ray convinces Spongebob and Patrick to release him from stasis because he's "good" now 😂
Wonder if Dagan is going to appear in the Star Wars The Acolyte.
Did the pacing in this scene feel a bit... rushed to anyone else? And what was with Cal's blank expression? The emotion on his face up to this point was incredible, but it feels so stilted and wooden here. I hope things get back up to their usual quality soon.
These cinematics and their sound mixing like mortal Kombat
You know, always did suspect that wasn't actually bacta in that tank. I mean, not that we know much about his species and how long they live but in the game cal even puts emphasis that he was "preserved in bacta." I think it's water from Tanalorr. I'm thinking they're setting 3 up for a time skip to get cal into post "a new hope" territory without having him age.
I knew he was gonna be a problem the second i step inside and saw him trap inside that thing
7:50
Cal: Hey Dagan... *NEED A HAND?* LMAO
Dagan: Goddamnit... stfu!
Dagan is strong no questions asked but I would like to have seen and Old Republic era Jedi, because they were in battle with the Sith very often
Love the acting in this scene. The shock that the Sith have returned and that they took over. Then the disbelief and relief that the people who imprisoned him are gone.
They’re slowly bringing back the term Dark Jedi they were really popular when I was born
I guess they keeping the "bleeding" kyber crystals to turn em red huh
Yes and I love that concepts bleeding a crystal red for the sith
Vader: My force powers are weakened without my hands!
Dagan: HAHA SHOULDER GO PUSH!
Respawn just knows how to create Star Wars Characters that just fucks
2:19 that flat delivery
Dagan Gera looks like Radagon.
Yes absolutely😂
the way the red saber flys in the air and he jumps to grab it was some next level shit
sick cutscenes
if only they weren’t in 5 FPS
Thanks for the fucking spoilers, UA-cam and Babyzone
Isn't it actually humiliating to be beaten by a cripple?
AH YES.
VADER.
The quickest turn to the dark side I’ve ever seen 😂
Nah he fell hundreds of years ago before he went into stasis.
Frankly bleeding his crystal was a formality by this point.
