Taron Malicos is like a composite of Maris Brood (Dark Jedi and living on a planet) and Rahm Kota (old man Jedi and a student) from The Force Unleashed games he also shares both characters aspects of being Order 66 survivors and being bosses you have to fight.
I really liked his character, like _really_ liked him. I often find that characters that use and/or struggle with the Dark Side are much more interesting. I also agreed with some of his points, and I wish they had done more with him. The Jedi fell from grace long before the Clone Wars. Blinded by their dogmatic and one-sided views, they couldn't see the real enemy coming until it was too late. The Jedi were the cause of their own downfall. It was time for something new, something that could surpass the Jedi. Although, what would surpass the Jedi would not be what Malicos wanted to create. While I agreed with some of what he believed in, like understanding and controlling the power of the Dark Side, he was still a madman in search of power. He was no Sith, but he might as well have been one. He let the darkness of Dathomir consume him instead of learning to control it, like he claimed. Whatever Order he would've built, would've been no better than say... the Knights of Ren. It is my belief that true power can be obtained by uniting the Light and Dark Side as one, which is why Malicos would fail. He would've ironically made the same mistake as the Jedi. But still, his character was interesting. And I hope that one day Disney will give us a TV Show/Movie about a Dark Side wielder, an interesting one like Malicos.
The Star Wars lore is so fucking interesting I love it so much. Respect to the developers for not making another money grabbing Star Wars game and instead further adding to the lore
Protip for those having difficulty with this fight (not on story mode) force push is your friend...when he charges you or throws his lightsaber you can force push him out of that...you can also force push when he tries to throw rocks at you to throw them back... That being said however only force push when he is at full guard if you can because it takes a huge chunk of his guard and if you break it he will get back up at full guard without giving you an opportunity to inflict real damage

Me: "Is this a game or a movie"? Everyone else: YES!
There's a difference between recognizing your peoples fallibility and dismissing their virtues so you can embrace power.
Cal is an example of the former, Malicos the latter.
7:34 Me when Cal Kestis comes back in the Mandalorian
Correction: former rogue jedi. Hes been consumed by the darkside for years.
The second phase of this fight really brings me home the Abyss Watchers due to the combo with the jump attack at the end. One of my favourites boss fights from the game.
I absolutely love this game. The lightsaber duels were intense but I always love trying to go at it with Darth Vader. Just battling him makes it the most fun.
8:53 you can literally see the quality drop lmfao
I cant imagine it's easy to make a smooth transition between cutscene and gameplay level graphics
@@erikeste7177 I want to agree with you, but we've had smooth cutscene to gameplay transitions for years now, look at GTA 5.
@@YearOneThorn that's because GTA 5 uses the same graphics in cut scenes and game
Dude lost all of his shading
Does it thru the whole game you notice it quite bad rendering goes in cutscenes aswell like there half finished
He could’ve been far cooler.
Why didn’t he used any nightsister magic?
All these talks of power from him and Merrin were for nothing.
ZCHER MAN it takes a long time to learn those powers, he was just learning the dark side to be able to tap into them.
It’s sourced from the dark side, but it’s a special set of powers derived from the power within the planet. Watch the clone wars again, it explains.
He fights as if he’s still on the light side
IIRC the main reason why the sith hated them, was the nightsisters remained neutral as much as possible.
ZCHER MAN not for nothing the mention of his power was to persuade him, he might’ve not had any power or was so cocky he thought he didn’t need it
Hard to believe that Taron Malicos is the second Spartacus from the tv series. And he’s also J.D Fenix in Gears of War, not to mention Weather Wizard in the Flash tv series. Liam McIntyre is an underrated actor.
Gotta love when you stop moving and the enemy just sits there looking at you. Really ratchets up the tension...
@Caramel Johnson that because he was. He is not taking much damage at all.
Reckoning I played it on Jedi master & went thru 5 stims & finished him with 1hp. Really hard to fight & almost impossible to dodge those stupid rocks
@@ryanb6614 Its quite easy, you dodge once to left then once to right depending on the position of the rock then dodge (roll twice) away from the 3 rocks, i got him to 35% at jedi grand master after 2 hours i gave up and it was hard even on jedi master i only had 3 stims though, should'v explored more i guess =)
@@ryanb6614 similar for me I was on Grand Master difficulty and he was definitely not easy if he landed a hit
i think my fav line is "dont you understand? im not interested in power"
Cal: I might be the last of my kind.
Luke: "Am I a joke to you?"
He wasn't a Jedi yet.
Luke was like 5 at this point, lol
He only become a full Jedi after ep 6.
And Obi-Wan is still in hiding and looks very much like his revenge of the sith self during this time.
Techno Viking is back, and he dual wields
Taron was such badass character and well acted. Wish we got more of him.
Taron Malicos is like a composite of Maris Brood (Dark Jedi and living on a planet) and Rahm Kota (old man Jedi and a student) from The Force Unleashed games he also shares both characters aspects of being Order 66 survivors and being bosses you have to fight.
"So, weary traveller. You seek to enter these ruins! Many have tried. None returned."
This dialogue is fantastic.
4:10. Oh, I love that effect to her voice. Reminds me of Mother Talzin.
I felt that when he said I know what it feels like to lose everything.
Taron Malicos is such an interesting character, and badass. I would love to see more of him
Taron has two lightsabers. He is impossible to be stopped. He is even more powerful than the Emperor!
@everyone No way can he beat the Emperor. He barely defeated Cal Kestis!
Cal: While I'm here I can find out who this Wanderer really is!
Wanderer: Taron Malicos!
Cal: ... I have no idea who this is.
She's totally talking about Greivus
The Star Wars lore is so fucking interesting I love it so much. Respect to the developers for not making another money grabbing Star Wars game and instead further adding to the lore
I love the whole old weary traveler persona…then the robe falls and you hear that rumble.
The crazy dude from God of war makes his return.
Sven He was Spartacus in that TV show. Did phenomenal
The voice actor has to be the dude that played Spartacus after Andy's passing.
Similar for sure
It is!
Yea it’s him for sure
It is, good ear
@@dariontapscott207 thanks bud
10:47 r we not going to ignore the fact how awesome that part of the duel was?
Her talking about a betrayed separatist general (Grievous) is like talking about ghosts. People who are dead but whose destruction is still felt in the present.
Taron Malicos was one of my favorite star wars villians Jedi turned Sith.
Correction a Dark Jedi Taron was not a Sith
This mans has no shirt and is taking blow after blow from a light saber like how
Tris The o mighty the farce
Even a shirt wouldn’t have done much, they cut through steal.
Did ever play the TFU? IT'S A VIDEO GAME!
@@tonyknighton4019 You ever saw Mordhau or For Honor combat system? Hmm?
@@trynox4fun259 IT doesn't have to ANY of of those games just because one is doing something doesn't mean the other should do the same, i swear that's the problem with Video games and other media these days.
Is it wrong that when the scene, where he offers you to join him. I really badly wanted to be allowed to join him.
To be honest, Taron had more personality then most in the game. I would have loved to see a comic on him, or a movie or two.
Yeah was thinking if the game would've been in RPG format that would've been a cool pathway.
But Disney not allow you join Dark Side.
You're talking about a KOTOR experience...
pirotess2 It’s a story based game about a Jedi, what did you expect?
i got stuck on this dude for like 3 hours, the next day my friend gets up to this point in the story then one shots him
Taron is a greatly written character
This game has so many great characters
'Cuz I'm a wanderer...a wanderer! I roam around-around-around-around
”WHO are you? I am spartacus!
"No I am Spartacus."
I thought it was him! Such a distinctive voice ha!
The other Spartacus
"Very good, Jedi!" *epic entrance*, *miss*.
Malicos is one of my favorite characters, and everything he said about the Jedi i agree with
Taron: "I'm here to kill you because I am evil!"
Me: "I knew that for awhile."
Taron: "Wait. How did you know?"
Me: "The black rope."
Taron: "That doesn't need anything?"
Me: "Look most evil jedi walks around wearing black ropes, black capes or way too much eye liner. It like you all shop at the same store."
Taron: "Well, then better run, before I strangle you with my black Rope!
I am not even sure why I carry so much of it."
i love how he says 'Die, welp!'
SUCH A BADASS
First clip I've watched from the jedi fallen order and its 30 times more interesting than any of the bullshit Disney put out RIP star wars saga.
JET the mandalorian series is really good i give disney some credit but yes the last star wars movies been garbage
b spoon I’ve enjoyed the last movies so far, but I can understand the grievances. Hopefully Rise of Skywalker can wrap up the trilogy well.
A: This is Disney Star Wars
B: The media they've put out are all good apart from TLJ which overshadows the decent stuff like Mandalorian or Solo
This really needs the background music in order to make it a great battle scene. Cal’s theme really empathizes his growth in power and determination.
Well, Malicos is right. The Jedi fell before the purge and both EU and NU confirm that merely bringing back the old Jedi order will not do.
Luke's Legends New Jedi Order: Am I a joke to you?
Is the Cal suppose to look exactly like Cameron Monaghan? - the young joker from the Gotham series
Obviously that’s who plays him😂
That’s the guy who played cal, so. Yeah. 🤷🏻♂️
They motion captured his face and body for all the cutscenes
taron was a badass hope we get him in future movies and the sequel to this game i wouldve joined him his a badass
Malicos wasn't exactly wrong about the Jedi, doesn't mean he isn't a nut job, but he has his moments of clarity.
“Who are you?”
I..am..SPARTACUS!
Malicos: "BACK JEDI!"
The Jedi: 12:00
This game would have made a better movie than the crap we've had foisted upon us.
It's not that great if you squeeze it into 2 hours. There's not even a star war battle.
Lol I knew this was boring
@@Radb707
Still far better than cAsInO aNd SpAcE hOrSe
Yes this wouldve been a really good movie
I felt more connected to these characters than any in the sequel trilogy
What I love is that even though Taron is obviously the villain here, nothing he says is truly wrong. He's misguided, sure, but he is right about Jedi falling long before, and the issues that led them to that state they were in. This is a truly amazing game
Damn that boss fight was hard to watch. Swing, swing, swing, spinning swing, repeat
