I always found this interpretation of him in the original trilogy to be really overstated. He just looked cool and had a cool voice, I don't think he was ever intended to be anything other than a cool looking extra who had a humorously goofy death. It's only ever since people deemed him to look cool as shit that he started to get more attention and stories afforded to him, I don't think he was ever anything particularly special in the original trilogy.

I like the difference in Boba’s warning shot based on who he fired it at. He shot at Caij’s feet, a harmless warning shot, but he fired directly at Cal because he knew he’d deflect it.

I don’t hate Book of Boba Fett as much as a lot of others seem to, but damn have I missed the old school bounty hunting boba we all met back in episode 5 and 6. So badass.

I was really hoping one of the lines of dialog would bring that up. Bo Katan recognizes him being clone, and she only dealt with them at the end of the Clone Wars during Mandalore's occupation. Cal actually served alongside them!

He’s a bounty hunter, a shark, looking for a meal. Sharks never attack anything where they could potentially lose.
Boba fought Darth Vader and "won." I doubt he'd have that hard of a time getting through Cal. Oh yeah, and Jango killed 6 Jedi Knights with his bare hands. Even if Boba never got his father's hand-to-hand combat training at that level, he is his Dad's unaltered Clone, so he has that advantage. Regardless, Boba has a lot of training, and is EXTREMELY smart and tactically minded.

They prefer the easier/ safer meals. They are all business, and emotionless. As is Boba. He could probably beat Cal in a fight. But he could also loose. It’s not in his best interest at this time.
@@fudalefu1 Sharks are not really Apex predators. That would be dolphins who are Apex predators believe it or not. The Killer Whale also known as an Orca is a species of dolphin known to go as far as hunting even the biggest whales. Sharks will tend to kill themselves via beaching themselves just to escape orcas. Other dolphins have been known to attack sharks aswell, even if the shark poses no threat.

Sure he COULD deal with Cal, but no one's paying him to, and Cal has been proven to be enough of a risk as is. This is why Boba survives beyond return, because he's a skilled tactician, knows when to fight and when to hide. Like a bantha.
You can't really build a show around a man starting his own crime family while ensuring that he constantly look 100% cold and ruthless. That's not a protagonist, that's a robot.

I think a show about OT Boba would have been just as bad as what we got, but different. I really don't want to follow a ruthless and moralless bounty hunter helping Darth Vader chasing people. They did that in Episode 1 of Mando and immediately abandoned that concept, and rightly so. So having Boba change, become a different person, wasn't the wrong call. I'm not pretending they did great, as in the end he really wasn't badass enough any more. We should have seen more from him and less of the scooter gang, for instance. At the beginning of the show I was annoyed by the flashbacks, but over time I liked them more than the "present time" timeline. On Andor, I still hate the flashbacks to this day, but that's another story. But neither is Andor as great as many people claim, nor is BoBF (or Kenobi) as bad as the same people claim. Are they the best Star Wars out there? Sadly, no. Should they? Probably.
Scenes like this do Boba justice because he is so calm and in control. You can just tell he is capable of so much more violence than he shows. The fact that he doesn't bat an eye about the possibility of fighting a Jedi tells you everything you need to know.
When you think about it, Boba kinda excels as a *side* character. He's a mysterious badass who strolls into the story and then strolls out. He's at his best when the focus isn't on him, otherwise you lose the 'mysterious' part that makes him so compelling.

@@benwasserman8223 I don't think it's as shallow or specific as that. Boba was inspired by The Man with No Name, for sure, but then it makes perfect sense for a bounty hunter character.
I like how they handled this. Short and sweet, the right amount of dangerous professionalism mixed with uneasy truce. We’re all echoing Cal here, ‘Nice not to be the target for once.’ Since so many times the Bounty Hunter is a danger or antagonist to the running Jedi. And also props to Cal for deescalating yet also having a decent dialogue with Boba.
Boba knows firsthand how dangerous Jedi are due to witnessing how his father died and his own failure to kill Mace Windu. He has wisdom bounty hunters like Caij lack. As he told Shand, he's smart enough to know what jobs are avoidable because he *thinks* unlike the majority of the people who hire him and those he associates with. Caij never thought about how easily Cal could kill her because she was so wrapped up in the thrill and threw her life away for nothing.

But he could just as easily share his father's fate, who died because his jetpack malfunctioned at the worst time possible. No matter how good you are, no matter how experienced...you can still eat shit because of something as simple as that. Hell, Boba ended up in the Sarlacc just because of that. A blind man accidentally sets his jetpack off and he nearly gets digested for his troubles. Bode dies because his blaster malfunctions and leaves him completely helpless to be shot when he very nearly solo'd a Jedi Knight and a Nightsister on his own.
His father was a hostile target on a live battlefield, hardly some poor innocent. Perhaps Mace didn't need to kill him, true, but neither was he unjustified in using lethal force.

Life is good, your dad had you right after a big payday and you're basically set for life, but because of the contract your dad signed he's on retainer for basically whatever bounty hunting job they can come up with. One day, after a particularly awful job where your dad saw his love interest rat him out and had to kill her to keep you and himself safe, a man with a glow sword comes to your home and tries to arrest your dad. You two escape of course, but now you're homeless. Your dad goes to his boss to figure out what the fuck to do next. Then, the guy who tried to arrest your dad comes back with an army of dudes with glow swords. Big fight ensues, your dad is called on to protect your boss. You then can do nothing but sit and watch as your dad is decapitated by a dude with a glow sword, and instantly your childhood is basically shattered. Your dad's savings are probably confiscated, you're homeless, and you have no one to go to until a couple of your dad's friends pick you up and turn you into their runt. That was what the Clone Wars was like for Boba. Whether or not Jango needed to die, IDC, Boba got the shit end of the stick, and the republic never tried to help him or understand what he went through, they literally left him on Geonosis as a orphan and no one gave a shit. Its no real wonder he turned into this jagged, cold bounty hunter.
I like that even though Boba Fett doesn’t like Jedi, he’s too professional to kill one when they aren’t his target. Frankly, that’s very in character for him. Most people don’t get that.
Exactly why if he stuck around at the end of Mando Season 2 and saw Luke, he wouldn't have tried to kill him. He had orders from Jabba to take Luke down, likely for a hefty sum of credits. With no bounty to claim, there was no point.
They also don't get that he doesn't hate all Jedi, just the one that killed his father: Mace Windu. That's the only Jedi he ever hated and would have killed with or without a bounty. But he never got his chance in the end. He was too young, too inexperienced and too out of control back during the Clone Wars. So, he's bitter about that but doesn't take it out on any Jedi survivor. At best he pities them, but there's a sense of understanding the loss they suffered is similar enough to his own.
Absolutely perfect. Few games can replicate a character as perfectly as this game did boba fett, his mannerisms and the way he holds his gun is spot on
It's likely why he worked for the Empire in the first place. He hated the Jedi almost as much as the Sith did. Cad Bane throws shade at him about it, but Boba didn't give a shit about the Empire's objectives or politics. Vader obviously respected him and paid him well, in a twisted way, maybe reminded him of Captain Rex.
Just realized how boba points his blister at caij and flamethrower at cal, he remembers the old mandalorian ways. Also can’t forget that little hate for the Jedi jango part as well.
Boba being an honorable man once again. He came for her, encountered another high reward bounty (who he could likely takedown easily), but he wasn't here for Cal, and Cal isn't starting a fight. He even tells Cal he hopes they never meet again, as in he hopes he's never sent after him. Boba's a good judge of character, recognizes Cal as honorable and smart, and respects him for it

It's very clear the moment you see the blaster and the gauntlet, you know who it is. The jetpack 'might' give it away, but that grapple hook gauntlet and EE-3 Carbine are unmistakable.
I love Temuera’s voice and cadence as Boba here and in The Mandalorian. He incorporated Jason Wingreen’s menacing growl. Temuera is so much better now than in his voice dub in Episode V.
It would have made my day, except that I was waiting for a playable PC port to be available, and in the mean time this very video popped up in my recommended and spoiled his appearance for me.... 🙄
Being a clone isn't everything, he might sound similar but his cadence and manner of speaking isn't quite the same (after all, the clones grew up around each other, while Boba was influenced by Jango's own mannerisms). Not to mention by this time he wouldn't exactly expect many clones to be as he remembered them either. Sometimes it helps to just not think about it too hard though
Ironically enough, the clones in Jedi: Fallen Order were voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who voices them pretty much everywhere else besides the Prequels. The last time I saw Temuera Morrison as a clone trooper was in the Kenobi series.

There is also the fan theory that Vader likes to work with Boba cause of his time in the clone wars but that is just a fan theory no proven evidence for that one just something fun to think about.
The three minutes he’s on screen here are better than the entirety of BOBF, and show off more of Boba’s actual character than all the time he had on that show. 😂
I guess this is the closest we'll have to playing Star Wars 1313. Plus it's nice to see Temuera Morrison back, though I half-expected Dee Bradley Baker or Daniel Logan to voice Boba in this specific era.
Force users can actually use the force to augment the damage of their lightsaber, now. Im not totally sure if that’s new to the Disney canon or always, but cal probably did that because he really didn’t want to kill Caij.
I saw an article that said they wasted Boba here and I have to disagree. This is what I want to see from Boba. Someone who's cold, calculating, threatening, and there for business, not pleasure. I wouldn't have wanted a boss battle with him because as the player, I wouldn't want to lose, but at the same time, all the threatening presence around Boba Fett disappears if the player beats him. I think what we got from Boba Fett is perfect.
True, they let us fight him in TFU ultimate Sith edition, and the fight is stupid easy. In the character log they state that Cal and Boba part with an "uneasy tension", suggesting that this isn't the last time these two will meet. Wouldn't be surprised if he makes an appearance in the next game hunting Cal as a bounty. They could still make him a boss battle, with the requirement being taking his health bar down halfway, at which point he decides Cal is not worth the effort. The set up could be Boba sneaking up behind Cal, and Cal sensing him last second. Cal swings his lightsaber around, only to be shocked by Boba blocking it with his beskar-laden arm.
It’s nice to see Temuera Morrison return to Star Wars. He voiced clones in the OG Battlefront, Bounty Hunter, and now Jedi Survivor. 😮 This man is a legend.
This scene actually helps out massively with a scene in Book of Boba Fett that bothered me. Boba Fett calls Cad Bane a "gutless murderer" to which Bane retorts the same to Boba. But this scene showed Bane was wrong. He went for the disarm with Caij and spared Cal, despite his hatred for Jedi, even though he probably could have easy killed them both. Boba was always an honourable man like he claimed to be. He just had a dishonourable profession.
Allow me to quote the last time we saw Boba Fett before the Mandalorian. "No more innocent people are going to die. Or be locked up, or live in fear." Book of Boba Fett didn't ruin the character. it ruined what people WANTED him to be, based on their own expectations based on his 6 minutes of screen time, even though what is established outside of that proves otherwise.
@@classic_jam A scrapped Clone Wars arc, which included the standoff between Cad Bane and Boba Fett. That arc of having Boba Fett becomes a good guy and stand up was moved to the book of boba fett.

I don’t think he knows that Boba is a clone, much less one without the age acceleration. At this point when the game takes place, most of the clones were decommissioned, ‘retired’, and died off, so it has been sometime since Cal has seen one.

Bo-Katan was an adult when she fought with and against clones as she said to Boba “I killed many of your kind.” so she would remember their voices much more clearly then Cal who was basically 10 years of age and had other things to worry about with the empire. And before you point out that Kanan also recognized Rex, Wolf, and Gregor as clones even when he was young when 66 went down. Keep in mind, when Kanan first met Rex, Wolf and Gregor, Kanan didn’t recognize them even as they spoke and wore clone trooper armor. It was until they said Rex’s number (CT-7567) and Rex confirmed it was his name BB did Kanan recognize they were clones. They were even wearing their armor and driving an AT-TE. Boba here is wearing his father’s armour and nothing else to indicate or confirm that he’s a clone. We just have meta knowledge that cal doesn’t have. But would be interesting if Cal did know Boba is a clone.
I’m pretty sure Cal recognizes Boba’s voice as that of a clone trooper. Now as to the fact that Cal may know that Boba Fett is pure unaltered clone of Jango Fett is unknown, but he may have been read into that bit if intel.

You can't really build a show around a man starting his own crime family while ensuring that he constantly look 100% cold and ruthless. That's not a protagonist, that's a robot.

@@erikaleo5469 exactly why a boba fett show was a bad idea in the first place. They had to completely change his character in order to build a solid foundation for a show revolving around him. Boba works best as a supporting character.
I think a show about OT Boba would have been just as bad as what we got, but different. I really don't want to follow a ruthless and moralless bounty hunter helping Darth Vader chasing people. They did that in Episode 1 of Mando and immediately abandoned that concept, and rightly so. So having Boba change, become a different person, wasn't the wrong call.
I'm not pretending they did great, as in the end he really wasn't badass enough any more. We should have seen more from him and less of the scooter gang, for instance. At the beginning of the show I was annoyed by the flashbacks, but over time I liked them more than the "present time" timeline.
On Andor, I still hate the flashbacks to this day, but that's another story. But neither is Andor as great as many people claim, nor is BoBF (or Kenobi) as bad as the same people claim. Are they the best Star Wars out there? Sadly, no. Should they? Probably.
Scenes like this do Boba justice because he is so calm and in control. You can just tell he is capable of so much more violence than he shows. The fact that he doesn't bat an eye about the possibility of fighting a Jedi tells you everything you need to know.
When you think about it, Boba kinda excels as a *side* character. He's a mysterious badass who strolls into the story and then strolls out. He's at his best when the focus isn't on him, otherwise you lose the 'mysterious' part that makes him so compelling.

@@benwasserman8223 I don't think it's as shallow or specific as that. Boba was inspired by The Man with No Name, for sure, but then it makes perfect sense for a bounty hunter character.
Boba Fett always chooses the highest bounty that is worth the offer. And bounty hunter always chooses the right price.
That or his strong sense of professionalism, he's paid to capture Caij, not Cal, so he has no reason to fight Cal, for the time being.
I like how they handled this. Short and sweet, the right amount of dangerous professionalism mixed with uneasy truce.

Since so many times the Bounty Hunter is a danger or antagonist to the running Jedi.
And also props to Cal for deescalating yet also having a decent dialogue with Boba.
Boba knows firsthand how dangerous Jedi are due to witnessing how his father died and his own failure to kill Mace Windu. He has wisdom bounty hunters like Caij lack.
As he told Shand, he's smart enough to know what jobs are avoidable because he *thinks* unlike the majority of the people who hire him and those he associates with. Caij never thought about how easily Cal could kill her because she was so wrapped up in the thrill and threw her life away for nothing.

But he could just as easily share his father's fate, who died because his jetpack malfunctioned at the worst time possible. No matter how good you are, no matter how experienced...you can still eat shit because of something as simple as that. Hell, Boba ended up in the Sarlacc just because of that. A blind man accidentally sets his jetpack off and he nearly gets digested for his troubles. Bode dies because his blaster malfunctions and leaves him completely helpless to be shot when he very nearly solo'd a Jedi Knight and a Nightsister on his own.

Boba is one of the few characters who actually has a pretty justifiable vendetta against the Jedi
His father was a hostile target on a live battlefield, hardly some poor innocent. Perhaps Mace didn't need to kill him, true, but neither was he unjustified in using lethal force.

Life is good, your dad had you right after a big payday and you're basically set for life, but because of the contract your dad signed he's on retainer for basically whatever bounty hunting job they can come up with.
One day, after a particularly awful job where your dad saw his love interest rat him out and had to kill her to keep you and himself safe, a man with a glow sword comes to your home and tries to arrest your dad. You two escape of course, but now you're homeless. Your dad goes to his boss to figure out what the fuck to do next.
Then, the guy who tried to arrest your dad comes back with an army of dudes with glow swords. Big fight ensues, your dad is called on to protect your boss. You then can do nothing but sit and watch as your dad is decapitated by a dude with a glow sword, and instantly your childhood is basically shattered. Your dad's savings are probably confiscated, you're homeless, and you have no one to go to until a couple of your dad's friends pick you up and turn you into their runt.
That was what the Clone Wars was like for Boba. Whether or not Jango needed to die, IDC, Boba got the shit end of the stick, and the republic never tried to help him or understand what he went through, they literally left him on Geonosis as a orphan and no one gave a shit. Its no real wonder he turned into this jagged, cold bounty hunter.

I like that even though Boba Fett doesn’t like Jedi, he’s too professional to kill one when they aren’t his target. Frankly, that’s very in character for him. Most people don’t get that.
Exactly why if he stuck around at the end of Mando Season 2 and saw Luke, he wouldn't have tried to kill him. He had orders from Jabba to take Luke down, likely for a hefty sum of credits. With no bounty to claim, there was no point.
They also don't get that he doesn't hate all Jedi, just the one that killed his father: Mace Windu. That's the only Jedi he ever hated and would have killed with or without a bounty. But he never got his chance in the end. He was too young, too inexperienced and too out of control back during the Clone Wars. So, he's bitter about that but doesn't take it out on any Jedi survivor. At best he pities them, but there's a sense of understanding the loss they suffered is similar enough to his own.
Absolutely perfect. Few games can replicate a character as perfectly as this game did boba fett, his mannerisms and the way he holds his gun is spot on

Vader obviously respected him and paid him well, in a twisted way, maybe reminded him of Captain Rex.

Boba being an honorable man once again. He came for her, encountered another high reward bounty (who he could likely takedown easily), but he wasn't here for Cal, and Cal isn't starting a fight. He even tells Cal he hopes they never meet again, as in he hopes he's never sent after him. Boba's a good judge of character, recognizes Cal as honorable and smart, and respects him for it

It's very clear the moment you see the blaster and the gauntlet, you know who it is. The jetpack 'might' give it away, but that grapple hook gauntlet and EE-3 Carbine are unmistakable.
Or there are those like me who recognized the toes of his shoes and style of his flighsuit leggings first
I love Temuera’s voice and cadence as Boba here and in The Mandalorian. He incorporated Jason Wingreen’s menacing growl. Temuera is so much better now than in his voice dub in Episode V.

Is nobody gonna talk about how cal was friends with clones and yet he doesn't recognize Boba voice and yes different voices
Being a clone isn't everything, he might sound similar but his cadence and manner of speaking isn't quite the same (after all, the clones grew up around each other, while Boba was influenced by Jango's own mannerisms). Not to mention by this time he wouldn't exactly expect many clones to be as he remembered them either. Sometimes it helps to just not think about it too hard though
Ironically enough, the clones in Jedi: Fallen Order were voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who voices them pretty much everywhere else besides the Prequels. The last time I saw Temuera Morrison as a clone trooper was in the Kenobi series.
Are we forgetting how Bo Katan (if I spelled that right) was able to recognize Boba's voice as a clone of Jango.

There is also the fan theory that Vader likes to work with Boba cause of his time in the clone wars but that is just a fan theory no proven evidence for that one just something fun to think about.
He is STILL, and always WILL be my favourite Star Wars character ❤

I saw an article that said they wasted Boba here and I have to disagree. This is what I want to see from Boba. Someone who's cold, calculating, threatening, and there for business, not pleasure. I wouldn't have wanted a boss battle with him because as the player, I wouldn't want to lose, but at the same time, all the threatening presence around Boba Fett disappears if the player beats him. I think what we got from Boba Fett is perfect.
True, they let us fight him in TFU ultimate Sith edition, and the fight is stupid easy. In the character log they state that Cal and Boba part with an "uneasy tension", suggesting that this isn't the last time these two will meet. Wouldn't be surprised if he makes an appearance in the next game hunting Cal as a bounty.
They could still make him a boss battle, with the requirement being taking his health bar down halfway, at which point he decides Cal is not worth the effort.
The set up could be Boba sneaking up behind Cal, and Cal sensing him last second. Cal swings his lightsaber around, only to be shocked by Boba blocking it with his beskar-laden arm.

This scene actually helps out massively with a scene in Book of Boba Fett that bothered me.
Boba Fett calls Cad Bane a "gutless murderer" to which Bane retorts the same to Boba.
But this scene showed Bane was wrong.
He went for the disarm with Caij and spared Cal, despite his hatred for Jedi, even though he probably could have easy killed them both.
Boba was always an honourable man like he claimed to be. He just had a dishonourable profession.
Allow me to quote the last time we saw Boba Fett before the Mandalorian.
"No more innocent people are going to die. Or be locked up, or live in fear."
Book of Boba Fett didn't ruin the character. it ruined what people WANTED him to be, based on their own expectations based on his 6 minutes of screen time, even though what is established outside of that proves otherwise.

I don’t think he knows that Boba is a clone, much less one without the age acceleration. At this point when the game takes place, most of the clones were decommissioned, ‘retired’, and died off, so it has been sometime since Cal has seen one.

Bo-Katan was an adult when she fought with and against clones as she said to Boba “I killed many of your kind.” so she would remember their voices much more clearly then Cal who was basically 10 years of age and had other things to worry about with the empire.
And before you point out that Kanan also recognized Rex, Wolf, and Gregor as clones even when he was young when 66 went down. Keep in mind, when Kanan first met Rex, Wolf and Gregor, Kanan didn’t recognize them even as they spoke and wore clone trooper armor. It was until they said Rex’s number (CT-7567) and Rex confirmed it was his name BB did Kanan recognize they were clones. They were even wearing their armor and driving an AT-TE.
Boba here is wearing his father’s armour and nothing else to indicate or confirm that he’s a clone. We just have meta knowledge that cal doesn’t have. But would be interesting if Cal did know Boba is a clone.
