I've tried Nicotinamide supplements last night. I needed to share my experience. After swallowing the pill I felt like it was burning my stomach. I said to my husband and daughter I will go lay down on the couch for a few minutes. Minutes later I felt like my hands were burning and it was climing up my arms and finally after 15 minutes my whole body was in hives, I was red and hot. It was litterally burning inside. My husband wasn't in panic (he's a doctor) but he went and bought Benadryl. One pill didn't do anything, I was still burning and the cold towels on my body were warming up in 5 minutes. He gave me a second Benadryl and finally got the hives to slow down. I went to bed and this morning I still have a few red spots on my legs and arms but it's not burning anymore. My word of advice, get the ingredient in your food you never know how you will react to any new supplement.

I had all my vericose veins removed as well over the last 7 years or so. The best thing I ever did because they caused so much swelling and pain for me. I didn’t so much have a problem with them being so unsightly because I have so many tattoos. Vericose veins can easily be removed and the removal can be beneficial because vericose veins can eventually cause swelling and pain. Keep in mind to follow after care instructions from your doctor because deep vein thrombosis can happen if after care isn’t properly followed.

Just speaking for myself, I started taking collagen about a year ago. I didn't expect much but after a lot of research decided to give it a go. Musculoskeletal health wise, bloody amazing! My gut health magically healed after a few years of trying EVERYTHING and spending a fortune on natropaths, digestive enzymes, probiotics and prebiotics etc. All fixed. My skin is incredible, hair, nails etc. DO IT! You don't have to spend a fortune. Just do your homework and you can find a great hydrolysed collagen around 500gms for around $60 to $70. Chuck it in a smoothy or your coffee or whatever.

Niacinamide changed my skin. I bought one of dermalogica's salicylic acid serum (an ingredient my skin has always loved) and saw an immediate improvement in my skin I've never seen before. I looked at the ingredients list and see that niacinamide is the second ingredient in the product. It TRULY is amazing. Less marks, less redness, feels smoother, feels softer. 👍👍
That's absolutely riddled with fragrance and potentially phototoxic citrus oils. All of their products are. Get rid of it. The Ordinary has a Niacinamide and Salicylic Acid serum for $AU11 each instead of $AU100 for a bunch of essential oils on your face.
I just counted. About 1/3 of all ingredients in it are fragrance.
@@taranullius9221 Are we talking about the same product? Mine has no fragrance. In fact, it stinks like oregano- I think it's an herbal enzyme or something in it. Dermalogica age bright clearing serum.
Glad to know, I bought the derma GEEK night cream with 3.5% Niacinamide in it. My skin seems to like it too, My skin looks more plump in the morning. I'm 41 years old. I also bought a silk pillow case and sleep mask because it's true that it doesn't absorb the moisture from my skin and my hair. I bought those from Celestial Silk because they had a gift set of 22 momme Mulberry silk for 60$

Thank you very much for this information. I have AKs, SKs, have basal cell cancer and rosacae. I visited a dermatologist this week and was prescribed niacine 500 mg twice a day plus other treatments. Your thorough explanation is extremely helpful.
Thank you for mentioning something related to bullous pemphigoid. It’s so hard to find much info on the disease at all, but it’s so debilitating. I’ve been trying to help a family member, and I appreciate any content I can get!

I don’t know why but once I began using NAC the hyperpigmentation vanished 10 times faster. NAC is freaky and fast on all systems of the body. It’s a miracle to my body. Evens emotions, helped me get over my attachment to an ex boyfriend I couldn’t get over, cleared my Covid lungs in 2 days and who knows what else it’s doing.
I just began Methylene Blue USP supplementation as well. I’m a Van Lifer so yes, I live full time in my vehicle (have a full kitchen) but I just don’t have good lighting. I look in the mirror every few weeks to take a deep look (other than the gym) and yesterday, 1 month after NAC began and 1 week of MB and my melasma which was only 40% faded (drove a convertible for years) was literally gone. Gone. My skin was even and milky. WTH? We’re missing a big supplement here that I discovered. And NAC and MB is cheap.
I'm allergic to Niacinamide. I'm not allergic to anything else. I have super NON sensitive skin, I can probably use hot sauce as lotion and be okay but for some reason Niacinamide makes me extremely itchy and it makes my eye swell, even when I apply it far away from my face (example: feet/legs)
I think I might be too! I started using Cerave and my face & neck itch daily. I used The Ordinary Niacinamide with no problem except slight stinging. It might be a reaction to one of the Cerave ceramides- I'm switching back to Neutrogena.
Niacinamide irritates my skin too.
@@jt8142 me too! i know most people swear it but i actively avoid any products with niacinamide because it literally breaks me out. had to even get rid of a milani setting spray that was irritating, turns out it has niacinamide in the ingredients, which seems to be trending with makeup products. glad i’m not the only one… life is much better and clearer without niacinamide in it!
Yes!!!! B3 worked for my dark under eye circles. I also eat a lot of fat and protein and limit sugar, because eating a lot of sugar breaks down collagen

Would you please talk about thyroid issues, exercise sweat, milia, itchy whiteheads that don't completely go away, blackheads, dry climate, dry skin, a smell to the whiteheads.
My sister lives in Europe and has been prescribed Zinc for her skin before. She said the FDA doesn’t approve it’s indication for acne, but the EU does, so I’ve been taking it for a few months and I think it may be helping. Every time I take B vitamins my pee turns neon yellow and I’m convinced I’m not absorbing it. 😅
How do you figure your dosage?
I was taking ZMA which makes you sleep better at night. My gut biome results advised me to take magnesium, so currently taking magnesium solo but plan to switch back to ZMA I did notice a deeper sleep when taking it.

So much hype around NAD drips and nicotinimide right now. Thanks for the info!
Take betaine and glycine in a 1:1 ratio if you take these Vitamin B3 forms. The liver issues are primarily due to B3 depleting methyl donors. So supplying them with it via betaine and choline and methyl buffers like glycine helps offset this.
I didnt completely understand this, are you saying to take betaine and glycine at the same time as niacinimide?

There are a couple Vitamine B3 derivatives. But most doctors recommend Niacinamide over Nicotinic Acid ☺️
Thank you for this information Dr Dray. You look absolutely extra beautiful in this video👍. I think that color group you have on really compliments your skin coloring.
@notyourmom I've done the resurch after your comment and it was exactly that. I couldn't beleive people actually don't mind that huge reaction. For me it's a no no. Not interested.

Oh how I wish I could use niacinamide. They even started adding it to my holy grail shampoo and conditioner. I have had to change nearly every hygiene product I've used most of my life since they are over using this ingredient and changing perfectly good formulations. Talk about varicose veins next pleeease. Loving your videos!!!! 😍
i have a recent video on varicose veins
I had laser surgery for my varicose veins in my legs in about 13 years ago. It was the best thing I have ever done. I always had nice legs but the veins were terribly embarrassing and traumatizing. All of these years later I only have one tiny one that I will have injected soon.
Great, informative vid Doc! This lip looks great on you btw girl! 🤎
Is NAD beneficial for the skin?
Hi Dr. Dray,
Thank you for this information. Recently discovered your site and so glad to found you. Your skin looks so radiant, too.
I heard taking collagen powders orally doesn't do much for skin, but taking amino acids help with the skin? Any thoughts on that?
Based on the information on the video, do you think this supplement could be potentially good for people with lupus? Since it can be diagnosed later in life, maybe it can repair the sun damage u took when u didn't know u had lupus. Could you make a video on lupus? :)
