/ @628dirtrooster This job was done in August of 2019. We're removed another hive out of this house on the other side of the porch last week. I'll include some still shots of the house on that video when ever I get around to putting it up.
We have new Dirt Rooster merch out now. Some of the new shirts are for the Tennessee Hive Life conference in January but are available on our web site now. 628-dirt-rooster.myshopify.com/

Because of you and friends, I'm no longer afraid of bees. Thank you for that!!!
Listening with earbuds when one of those bees went buzzing by you. I forgot I was watching a video and swatted my own head!
"Where the hobby of Beekeeping is life" well said, little man!
I love this channel. No matter how bad my day is, this guy makes me smile.
🙂🎯👍
I'm with you Val. He's a pretty awesome guy
Agreed
He is so nice and respectful!
@@beewitch5569 I went to Mississippi last summer and picked up two nucs from the Rooster. He knows bees too!
Thank you for Carter’s intro!!! When he sees it he’s gonna be so excited.
You the man!
Good old fashioned entertainment. Education too.
That tree is a frangipanni tree. The flowers has beautiful perfume. We have them here in Australia too. 👍👍👍🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲
Most call them Plumeria here in USA. Same tree, different name.
Had four big frangipani trees in our yard when I was a child. The yellow ones are my favourite.
We had them in our gardens and the hoopoos loved sitting in them in Malawi. I miss frangipanis ours were the beautiful yellow centered ones .
One of our little trees my mum killed by running the dirt bike into it 😬🤣🙈 sorry mum 😁🤣🥰🥰🥰
After two stings to the scalp, “I give one of these when somebody dies.” Tell Pete that a squirrel is just a tree rat.
That's exactly what we call them here--"tree rats". I'm needing to evict one out of my attic in fact, eviction moratorium be darned, LOL.
Seriously this is got to be your funniest one. Between the bees getting you and then Pete finding the dead rat it was hilarious!!
wooooow, that was some of the most pristine comb i have ever seen
I love watching Dirt Rooster. Very informative and interesting channel. Thank you for everything you do.
The cameo from that Carter is the COOLEST!
I dig the photography spills we get at the end of the video.
Hello there DirtRooster. Good to see you and Pete again. See you soon.
The "tree" you were talking about in the beginning of the video was a plumeria. It's a Hawaiian Lei flowers. Beautiful and smells awesome
Thank you Randy. 👍🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️
That wasn't a rat that was the squirrel that chewed through the porch.
I love that the smoker has “Diesel Fuel Only” written on it 😂
Lol that bee a cummins smoker 🤣
this will be the first time that i have seen you run from the bees, it must be bad ass!!
That's cool . "628 Dirt Rooster". It's always an adventure.
Love how Pete was testing the boards for you. 😁
I love when you and Ed Do a video together! I wish U2 would do more together. Love your videos and your bees.
If they were all easy, everybody would be removing bees! Nice job guys! Till next time!
At 21:13 in the second bucket was your queen walking in the middle of your comb I believe… 👀 Enjoyed it!
Beautiful flowers
I have no idea how I ended up binge watching this channel but I subscribed. I am from Boston & live in an apartment & man you guys are so brave! 😱
Hi Jean. Glad you found us.
21:49 You gotta BEE somewhere, eh? lol
Yeah, yeah, I know, Ill see myself out lol
Watching you is a treat. Pete is icing.
I LOVE YOUR BEE VIDEOS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Got to love life when it offers you a challenge. Thanks for sharing.
This job had some difficulties for both of ya! Aww, man! I feel bad, but there was nothin’ anybody could have done differently.
Love watching you guys on a job. Never new seeing honey bees removed could be entertaining and educational at the same time Randy. Your photography is really good. Thanks again guys for a great day!
Just did my first cut out yesterday. Went well, small hive. Got them in a 5 frame box and seem to be doing well. Didn’t get stung til I got home putting them in the box.
You need some 628dirtrooster and pete merchandise. Love your work keep it coming
Another great bee removal! But just about died when Randy shoved that rat carcasse over the balcony! (Too funny! XD)
14:45 - 14:49
Wow, so peacefull❤ Love it!
Excellent video !!!
I usually don't buy honey from the store. Because of pasteurization and processing it just doesn't taste right, besides that, a lot of the time it's mostly just high fructose corn syrup anyway, (Be sure to read the ingredients).
I always buy my raw honey from local suppliers, usually at the farmer's market.
I've recently taken to buying comb honey. The honey often has more character and the wax burns nicely. I just crush and strain.
The first tree was franjapanni, comes in white with yellow centre through yellow and apricot to the pink that you showed.
Wow, he works for plants!! Talk about loving what you do...
That's a good yard. If I were a honeybee? I'd move in, too!
Every once in awhile, I get a sting that doesn't really sink in for about 30 seconds. It hurts like normal at first, then it mashes on the gas pedal.
Like getting kicked in the junk, but more acute.
@ObamfSPIKE i give Rooster static about getting stung up.
Truth be known, I get my lunch ate at least once a week. It's just nice knowing I'm not the only one!
Some of these other keepers act as if it never happens to them. That's why I'm a loyal viewer here.
This channel (our host) is honest about what really happens.
Respect to the ladies for being loyal and putting their life down to protect the queen. People new to this learn from people true to this. All joking aside, mad respect to the Rooster for not editing out the ugly truth of it.
@ObamfSPIKE Exactly. My catch phrase is "I get stung, so you don't have to."
Part of NOT getting stung is knowing what makes them angry.
That ceiling fan splattering bee guts everywhere could explain a few things, but I'm not going to tell the Rooster that. Ill just sit here and enjoy the show.
Anyone that ever tells you they never get stung working with bees ain’t telling you the truth every beekeeper gets stung it’s part of the job and that’s a fact even through the best bee suit money can buy you can get stung.
@@markmurphy8303 i work bees BECAUSE I got stung as a small boy. I was so backwards, that I remember being angry with the bee over it. Now that I'm older and more wise, I get angry with myself for making her have to do that. They put their life down for the survival of their queen and sisters on instinct alone. Mad respect to the ladies.
@@markmurphy8303 oh, and yes. I avoid any stings. It's not about the pain, but about one less bee showing up for work in the morning.
Once in awhile they get caught between the folds of my clothing or in the armpit when I'm reaching up, then my arm comes down on her. Maybe in the gap on my sleeve between the buttons or under the glove (just regular work gloves). If the clothes are just a tiny bit thicker than the stingers, they tend to just scratch the skin a little. I had one today drain itself into my hand because I thought it was on the outside. Little did I know she got inside the glove until I took it off in the truck. My hand looks like a burrito as a result, but again... it was my fault, not hers.
If you want me to I'll gladly ask Charlie if he would give Pete some tips on videoing removals, Charlie is a really awesome teacher. Also, maybe you should have put your watermelon hand next to the rat's body instead of your foot, it would have made it look like a mouse. Oh yea, speaking of your watermelon hand, good thing those studs were on 2 foot centers, your hand fit easily in between them. Great video and a good removal as well, to bad the bees temperament was nasty. God's peace brother.
Good pictures!
A new Rooster video and an afternoon of football; life is good!
Woo wee that was a big one
Rooster Dirt-Awsm
My goats got loose and disturbed the honey bees in the house siding but also somehow managed to alert some European wasps. I got stung by one of each. I'd take a hundred of the honey bees over just ONE of those European wasps!! That wasp sting was excruciating for four days and whoa as me if water got on it!! FIRE AND BRIMSTONE!
First timer I'm going to watch the video and see maybe go and watch some more.. I noticed it's in Gulfport I went there once very nice my best friend's daughter husband and family lived there and there were a few blocks from the water the Beach.. this is during the winter time it was beautiful.. severe massive hurricane came through and I remember her beautiful home it was up high the yard was gorgeous the home was gorgeous and after the storm came and left they had nothing but the foundation and everything was in the water.. that was devastating.. I hope all is well now..
Enjoyed the photography More than the video itself. Still always a good day when you post. Side note: I would rather swim in the bayou than THAT pool.
Well I enjoy practicing photography more than editing videos. LOL
Wow she sounds like a great daughter…I had my right hip replaced back in 2020 and I had it pop out TWICE in 6 months and you talk about pain…damn o damn did that hurt…. But I don’t know if my daughter would install a life for me to my bedroom…well guess not since my bedroom is on the first floor lol…. You guys do a wonderful job with these bees and I don’t like them cause I’m allergic to the stings and since I can’t outrun them my ass would be in trouble lmao…🤣😂👍
I learn so much from your videos and I laugh and enjoy your company
I love those old angel wing begonias. Those have been passed down for a loooooong time.
I always love watching your videos especially when you have Pete and/or Mr. Edd working with you, you guys are so entertaining to watch, great job dirt rooster.
Well I’m a fan of Frank Lloyd WRIGHT’s vintage architecture and I’m a NEW fan of this 🐝Keeping/Removal Video! So I’ve got a TWO-in-ONE treat today!
WOOHOO!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
This video has a tour of the inside of the house. ua-cam.com/video/wBr0d68x8PE/v-deo.html
Awesome
So satisfying seeing that hive get removed. thats a lot of bees.
Mean ol bunch of Bees!
Good Job Guys 🙌💥.
JO JO IN VT 💕😄
That was a good video. Now, to look in the description, to see if the Queen was found, and the hive took off.
It's funny how I can watch myself have blood drawn and get stitches, but I get the heebie-jeebies every time I see the honey dripping down. I have such an issues with sticky that I can't even watch my kids eat pancakes!
OMG I jumped when that man yelled I thought a big rat 🐀 jumped out of somewhere! Whewwwwwwww 😱
10/4 on the dead rat. I had one once. Made4 a good pet I didn't know had. Ate power cords. DE-con got it. GBWYall!
Maybe a little tender loving care on this entire home might make it last a few more years...... and that pool.... I see they are growing things, maybe they are harvesting algae....
Been looking forward to this hope you are well and keeping safe take care from England
That "Tree" with the pink and white flower (2:00 time) is a Plumeria tree - very popular for use in Hawaiian Lei and behind the ear hair adornments. Very pleasantly fragrant.
As always love your content and your photos are amazing Randy. Love them always.
You are too kind! :)
We love rats...& bee's x x x. love to watch these bee keeper's too
Great surroundings for the job! I don't particularly like rats either!
You shouldve had Mr. Ed with you... You know he wouldve found that Queen, lol
You said you have to Bee 🐝 somewhere towards the end of the video…. No matter where you Bee 🐝 you will Bee 🐝 there! Love your videos!
Those scalp stings just plain suck. You took it like a champ. I’m still a big baby after 25 years, when it comes to fingertips, ears and scalp stings. Stay safe
Oh man, that humid heat and a suit…my sympathies! Dallas isn’t that humid, but we sure are plenty hot with bad air from the wildfires. Oooph!
Houston was pretty nice this past weekend.
@@628DirtRooster Dallas temps improved but our air quality gutted. I have severe asthma. Enough said. .Glad you had a nice weekend. :)
Are they fun 🤩
They were just mad you didn’t heed the “Do Not Disturb “ notice!!
That got me rolling on the floor laughing!!! That was great!!!
Here for The Mummy reference, stayed for the bees.
"This honey has a great smoky flavor!"
Thank you
Thanks for the views Paula
That’s what they make Hawaiian lays out of
Dead rats and pine needles, or....?
Alt title......If it could go wrong , it probably did. Just ask the rat
yay fragipani !!
We got that plant in Hawaii.
It was like a scene from the mummy? What. Just f'ing great. I am supposed to be studying for a stats exam but now I cant. I cant let a video title like that wait. I need to watch now!
Here goes.
Pete will be emotionally traumatized by that rat!
Pulled my Honey off yesterday got 2 stings ( not when removing the Honey ) before and after 1 as I put my suit on in the shoulder and 1 over my left eye at my hairline , got a Yappy Eye today
Still better than what happened to the rat. Just say'n.
Indian Jasmin Tree AKA Plumeria.
and the red variety too nice.
smells so good but poisonous
Thanks Randy and Pete. Very entertaining. Did you find your queen?
Those where some mean girls . Glad you where able to get the gals and guys out of there and relocate them somewhere more suitable. I was amazed the home owner had you put the ceiling back up given the damage from termites and the rodents . That rat was one mummified rat . Where you able to locate the queen once you got them home ?
I wish I could remember about the queen. This was shot two years ago.
@@628DirtRooster That is ok I totally understand . Your video just showed up on my for you page 😂 😂 😆 😆 .
@@Thetis058 It's a new upload but it was recorded way back. Takes me a while to edit sometimes. LOL
@@628DirtRooster I understand.
That tree is a plumerias, what they use in Hawaii to make leis
Poor Charlie
That is the State flower 🌺 of Hawaii! The Hibiscus 🌺 flower
At least it wasn't scarabs beetles.
I am pretty sure that is a squirrel carcass
Pete wouldn't care if it was a unicorn carcass. I looks close enough to a rat to run him off.
I think of you a lot... someone I know who has been a beekeeper for over 40 years went out to his hive area ... and for whatever reason (environmental?) the bees weren't playing that day, and he was stung over 100 times on his hands and arms ... he didn't even realize it, just saw all of the bees covering him... well, he made it inside and collapsed and was paralyzed a bit before he could call for help... he is in the hospital, and the bee venom has shut down his kidneys (renal failure) ... he is in dialysis for now...
I recently had occasion to use one of those "Giant Ladders" and it was the most uncomfortable ladder experience I have ever had. I've spent a lot of time on extension ladders too. Those rungs kill my feet, calves and ankles. I'll stick with Werner now.
Franklin Lloyd Wright was a seriously weird dude bro…beyond weird he was a very dark man.
I would not expect anything else from one of his creations.😎
Haha. I haven’t researched him. Not really sure what he’s even famous for.
@@628DirtRooster A creepyhonor for sure to be inside a FLR home-however next time I’d bring a Priest and a flamethrower..
I’ll be rewatching this one on Halloween. 🎃
@@niagra898 LOL We'll have that opportunity tomorrow. Got another one on the other side of the porch to remove.
Randy, did you end up keeping that hive in one of your yards? I don't know that I'd want some perpetually angry bees.
I am in Ontario Canada and have not seen a honey bee in two years. When l was a kid you saw them all the time. Now only bumblebees and the tiny bees. A shame, its like, where have all the bees gone? I can't ever get local honey anymore.
I found a dead bee by my door with it's little tongue still out. I think my cat killed it. I saved it to show my grand children.
They'll get over it once they find out they are getting a better home with no dead bodies.
That previous person is mistaken! The fragrance is great!
I would be interested in learning more about propolis and how bees make it and how they use it.
Are there things that a beekeeper can learn from the quality or quantity or type of propolis ?
Are there varieties of propolis ?
Is propolis useful for the beekeeper ?
Propolis is tree/plant resin mixed with bee saliva and a little wax. They collect the Sap/Resin when foraging.
The particular make up of the propolis depends on the bee hive and what resin is locally available.
And local conditions like temp and humidity.
So its slightly different in every hive.
Propolis is used as a traditional medicine, and by some wood instrument makers.
@@quadg5296 so do some beekeepers collect and sell propolis to the wooden instrument makers and others ?
Are there any uses for propolis that beekeepers have ?
If propolis is good for wooden instruments is it also good for wooden bee hives, for example ?
