This property was incredible to see. By request of the family we kept some details private. This is the home of a retired physician and his wife. They own six hundred acres of farm and forest land as well as other homes on the land. The entry to the property is a beautiful winding drive through pine forest with a circle drive around a huge oak by the front door There is a single plank wooden swing hanging from two inch diameter rope on a limb of the great oak that reaches toward the house. The house somewhat secluded and is not visible from the road. You may be able to tell by the size of the walk out basement that the home is rather large. The living area with the garage are approximately twice the size of the basement work shop.
We had the opportunity to go through the home to check the floors and walls for heat signatures because they thought there were several hives in the home. I knew going into this job that we wouldn't find nearly the problems that they thought they had. I was told the house had upwards of nine or ten hives according to a pest control guy who had been out to look. I knew this was very unlikely as I have never seen a single property with more than five hives and that was an unoccupied property. An occupied property with more than a couple of hives is pretty rare. The living area of this home was immaculate and somewhat up to date. The garage and work area were just the opposite. Wherever the Mrs. had little influence there was a lot of clutter of period pieces from the fifties through the seventies. and not much of it was junk. You can see one of the items in the photo montage at the end of the video. It was a Westinghouse cooker of some sort on top of a cabinet factory built to hold it. I thought it was a neat piece and had never seen one so I made a picture.
We did only find evidence of one hive location but it was apparent that there had been multiple die outs and rehabitations over decades in this same space. It was confirmed by the owner's daughter that there had been a bee problem in this home since the late 80s. When we were done with the removal of this hive we closed the entrance permanently which should prevent future infestations. This removal was done over two years ago and we haven't been called back so I have to assume our work did the trick.

Dekay's Brown snake - harmless - is a common snake found throughout the United States and range in the entire state of Mississippi. They are small and brown, often with a noticeable lighter middorsal stripe. Adults can grow to around a foot in length. Sides may be dashed or checkered, but individuals are variable. Anecdotally, those not familiar with snakes may call them “baby copperheads,” though the are completely harmless to humans and pets
I will accept that, but sure looked triangle headed to me! Belly looked plain though. I'd have killed it.
This customer is very close to my heart. My dad had a large house with his model airplane workshop in the basement. Dad passed 8 months shy of his 90th birthday. Dad was very active until the last 4 months of his life. His heart got weak and he couldn't up and down the stairs. I have his models, equipment, tools etc. Each of my kids and grandkids got one of his model planes. That is a feat because the planes have a 6ft wingspan! There are a few smaller ones but dad was into the large planes. He was a pilot back in his youth and was in the Army-Airforce in WWII
That layer of wax moth debris was so thick it was a wonder the queen cage was not sucked into it like quick sand. This video proves that bees are not particular where they build, even if it's in the graveyard of another beehive. God's peace brother.
I'm always happy to see you guys together on a job. It's entertaining with just Dirt Rooster but now it's a party.
Oh c'mon guys, that's not a snake--that's an overgrown earthworm! LOL, seriously though, what a cool workroom that is. Glad the owner got a chance to come down and take a peek at what you guys were up to. Randy, your photography improves steadily, some really neat shots!
That's a Dekay's Brown grass snake. TOTALLY harmless! Glad you let it live.
Me too...glad he missed
Missed? Oiooh.
Oh my Goodness 😰!
Yes you got Her 🙌🐦
Well Done ✅😊.
JO JO IN VT 😆💕
She made it to the cage safe and sound. :)
That is one HECK of a basement work room!! Those must be 12 foot ceilings? I'd LOVE to see the rest of the place.
Fourteen foot ceilings in that dream of a man cave.
As a fellow bee rescuer, I can identify with not always coming across those perfect picture hives! Hey, I look forward to hearing you speak at the Alabama Bee Conference! When I saw your name as one of the speakers, I knew I had to attend!
Looking forward to the conference.
I appreciate your respect of the owner's request that you not show the house. But dang - I would have loved to see that house! What I could see was intriguing. Always good to see you sir, and your partner in crime - hope all is going well in this very hot summer. God bless you both!
Hello there Julie. Was thinking about you a couple days ago and was a bit concerned since hadn’t heard from you in a while. Glad to see you commenting!!
I wish I could have taken you on a tour of the whole property.

Thank you Mike! I've been away, but am home again,, lots to catch up on with my favorites!! Sir Randy of the DirtRooster clan is the first channel I started following, so I just started catching up on his first! See yours soon!
@@628DirtRooster
Thank you sir. My designer and architectural background was itching to go exploring, but those homeowners deserve their peace and privacy. I did enjoy your artsy photography at the end, you do have the eye! You always have but it continues to develop and improve!
Thank God this guy helps him he does most of the work, hes in most of the Videos this guy really helps alot, . And knows alot about bees,
Welcome back to the 628 PeteRooster Channel...
Love how you document older buildings and equipment. Pretty soon here all the history will be lost with new construction
That looks like a real nice house. Incredible to thin those bee’s were living in that house for all those years. The only thing I can think imagine if you guys had got there before they swarmed.
Randy, good video! I’m surprised that Pete didn’t run away when he found the snake. That must be one big house!
I think he did run but he had time to settle down before he got the camera and went back out.
Amazing how calm and static those bees were, Love it🥰🤩 Glad they will be better looked after with a better home #savethebees
I really like the photography you are including at the ends of the videos. Some very cool shots!
Glad you like them Dana!
Rooster, I always have Van Morrison in my head. I sing Tupelo Honey. 🎼🎹
GREAT show old man 👴 . You be my hero. Learn so much here.
Thank you Henry
I appreciate the pictures Randy
More on the way in the next video.
Randy, that 1st sign said it all (Dead end, No outlet) thanks for another great video.
Just truth in that sign
I always love the pictures at the end and the music. Today you really blessed me with that song I looked it up and downloaded it I really needed that reminder! Thank you.
Wonderful! Have a great day Patti
Love Pete's Laugh.
Dekays brown snake. Harmless
In my older years now I see the pictures your showing in the videos and think what memories and what it was like years ago of those places. Thinking process changes as the age creeps in.
Keep singing Van Morrison...she’s as sweet as Tupelo Honey, Honey baby from a tree. She’s an Angel 🎼
She really is an angel
Great vid! Glad to see you all again.
Wow, Randy, just wow!
GREAT JOB (as always). Loved the photos AND music choice! :)
Wow! What a workshop!
Man I love to see your photos in your voids takes me home when things were simpler
Great episode! Thanks!!!
Awesome job Randy and Pete!! Definitely more difficult than my last cutout. Thanks guys!!!!
Love the soundtrack at the end of this one. Almost got a little * Emotional 🥹 * . Very nice
Very nice song.
I think this one is my favorite video so far. Good job. Awesome work. Keep 'em comin'!
Thanks Barbara. Only took ten hours to edit. haha
Great video! Love your photography! Fun to see Pete The Heat Signature!
If I wasn't scared of bees, I'd love that kind of work. I grew up in the country and I'm no stranger to getting stung, but I think DirtRooster gets stung more in one day than I have my entire life.
Very Cool........................
Great video.. Love the photographs at the ends of your videos!!!✌🏻
Great video Rooster 🐓 y’all be safe and GOD BLESS y’all buddy Amen 🙏
Always fun Randy
I love watching your videos and with Pete it's rel entrertaining great job guys

It's a nice work place. Great job boy's
Good eye Randy!
Great photos, really quality
Pete is one of the hardest working men in the bee business! There's a story right there! #singlehivehoney
Love the pictures you took very nice
Great video as always, loving the photography and music at the end of the video too
Great to see the notification of this video! Sorry Pete ran across a snake :(. What a hive. Thanks for sharing and letting me tag along :)
Love the outro photography Randy…Thank you 🙏
another great video! thanks brotha!
Heart comb. Upside down. ❤
I wish I could find a nice old workshop like this, for sale, but without the bees, and DEFINITELY without those dam roaches!!!!
always look forward to your urban decay photos
Really enjoy the pictures and music! You are a great video maker and I can tell the bees just love you!
So nice of you
Another great video Randy! I really like that song you used at the end of this one.
Great photos
Thank you Donett
Awesome
I love your montage at the end Mr 628….📷🤛🏼
From watching the small footage of the basement, you can see that at one time, the home owner was an active gentleman… shame that he’s unable to use the basement any more…💔
Sheww that is a nice shop
I love your free tutorials on pest control! I would never of gotten into the business if not for you two and the Hornet King. Thanks again for all your hard work, and keep these awesome videos coming please. Edit: Can't forget Mr.Ed of course! :)
I wish I could do more of what hornet king does but we don't have hornets down here much.
@@628DirtRooster Oh really? Didn't know that, you do seem to have your fair share of many different species of wasps though. Just did my first hornet removal last week. Thought wife was going to film it but she just shot a few bad pictures lol. Thankfully the customer took a really short video and posted it on Facebook I believe, it got a few hundred views and was well received. Hoping that will stir up some business soon.
Good video, hard work, great music!
That road sign at the cemetery! Dead End, No Exit. No truer words.
I love the random pictures at the end, I sometimes get a bit emotional, the pictures of times past or forgot. Thank you for that
That's the kind of things I like to document.
Monster colony. Good stuff Randy!
That's one of those that has been Massive before and working back up to it again.
Wow, the Art Deco building at the end of the video was unexpected. Aside from your entertaining bee rescue videos, I am really enjoying your photography, you have a really good eye for composition and scenic context. Look forward to seeing more of your work as I check out more of your videos.
Maybe I can get inside it some day.
Nice photography.
Thanks for visiting
I bet those bees appreciated the rescue after losing swarms like that to the workshop windows.
They fought us all the way.
Love love love your photos at the end!
Thank you Diane
When y’all asked if ol dude had a discussion with the snake, he shook his head like oh nah I didn’t talk to him 😂😂😂
Cemetery shot, very true.
They just wanted to be clear about what business they're in I guess.
Great vid, nice to see some more pics. I'm actually doing some astro imaging right now!
I was watching someone live on TikTok earlier who was zoomed in on Saturn, I think it was. It was flurry but you could see the rings.
That appears to be a common Decay's Brown Snake. Congratulations gentlemen... you almost killed a slug eater. ;);)
I think that's what it was.
This looks more like bee rescue. Also glad that snake survived
Bee and snake rescue is our new business model. lol
Casey casum. That brings back memories.
Used to listen to the American top forty every weekend.
Bees swarmed at a golf course here and sat in several piles on the cart path for days. I have never seen that on any videos.
Great time watching the extraction of that hive. Did it still have a lot of hive beetles?
Not many
Hey Rooster 🐓
So after watching and reading through the description from this video specifically, i have a question I never considered. Is there a "common" amount of hives or a natural maximum population of bee's in certain areas or climates? Also want to tell you, there's never enough video of you and Pete out doing cutouts, that friendship you guys have reminds me of some past friendships that I miss, always Joking around, laughing and having a ball, even when working, especially when working! Making a job not feel like work, at.all.. Thanks for sharing what i presume is just one of many many cut outs that haven't made it to YT yet.
Hey TJ the amount of hives for an area is only limited by a few factors. The two main ones would be available food source for a given area and available spaces to make a home. Jus this year we removed ten hives from an area where they were no more than a mile apart between the two outside ones. That area could probably handle a hundred hives during a flow if there were places for them to move into. Of course if you were to look at more arid environments their hive load per square mile would not be nearly as strong due to limited resources. So in the end it just depends.
Yep, plenty more unedited removal videos waiting to be put together.
@@628DirtRooster Interesting, thanks!
Love your videos👍🏻
Thanks Mary
It's wild they populate a cavity over and over for so many years. I recently did a cut out the Family said had been there for 43 years. The wife was kinda emotional about the removal. They wanted some comb for the kids and grands lol
Man, I could never afford a place this big for a lifetime unless it's in the middle of nowhere
Great video, but would be nice to see the bees move into their new home.
Please, please give Mr. Edd lessons on camera operations. Your the best .
Good Time Charlie handles all that. I'll have a word with Charlie. ;)
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
See Rooster 🐓 being tall has it’s perks I’m 6’2 and I know it pays off every now and then
Pete gets all the best jobs........
His life is a dream. Gravy jobs and he keeps a lot of the honey too.
The pictures at the end were AMAZING BRO!!!! Wow. You stirred up my emotions that I had tucked away in a little closet.. I can't wait to see your photo book... Storys in every picture.
Next time I'm up we'll have to go on a photo walk.
Hello
My uncle built Model airplanes in the air force and live in Biloxi Mississippi at the air force base.
Keesler AFB. I'm very familiar with that place.
Seemed to be a very well worn hive tucked away inside that big old home Randy. Again tho I also must compliment the way you include some of your rich photography towards the end of a video. You must be working on a pictorial history of your area / region? Keep these videos coming, pictures too! -Bob...
I have some photo projects in the works. These were just some random shots that were on the SD card in my camera.
@@628DirtRooster I would suggest that the randomness of the shots as you post them to your videos is part of the attraction, aside of the quality of the shots capturing reality in a natural form. Very Enjoyable as you do post them up!
Them queens sure lay a bunch of eggs now that is crazy
Have you ever tried a hand uncapping tool to cut out with?
