The process you have from bringing supers in, extraction, rendering and bottling is perfect for you. You and Charlie bring supers in, the gang comes together for one long wonderful day of extracting and then you can work on the rest alone at your own pace. The equipment and setup in the honey house is awesome. I know it's a lot of work but from processing through cleanup, you make it look easy. Blessings to you. Thanks for sharing

Mr Ed!! I couldn't stand it anymore and had to become a paid member of the channel! Keep making these great videos. I actually had asked you this question yesterday on another video you posted but now I see my answer here in this video.. Is has to do with running into barrels and THEN running the cappings into the spinner vs going straight into the spinner with everything. We are expanding our honey house as we have about 200 hives and 700 shallow/medium supers we run through. Right now we are using 2 Harmony Farms slit uncappers and an old 60 frame dadant extractor than we can fit about 95 shallows at a time for a 10-13 minute spin. We are dropping that into a sump with a screen to catch the big chunks and then pumping it into our holding tank or barrels. We then do a final filter into the bottler tank when it's time. It's labor intensive to say the least. I love the way you do things but would like to dump straight into the spinner from the extractor and then pump into the holding tanks; skipping the 3 day barrel portion . You said in your video that would be a bottleneck so my assumption is that the spinner would not be able to keep up with what's coming out of the extractor? Sorry for the long post/question, but I really value your opinion on all this and would love to hear from someone who done this before!!!

I can't explain how satisfying it was to watch him not leave any honey to waste in the barrel. I used to watch cooking shows growing up, and I was poor as a kid but blessed at the same time. It was a nightmare watching how much batter or mix or whatever people would leave in bowls just to wash down the drain lol.
@@aquatikcamel4034 I can tell you didn't grow up in the most lavished of conditions either, you really get it. You don't leave the meat for later, you show that you're grateful for it in the moment and consume it completely, even if you're too full. When you don't know when you'll get another nice chunk of meat like that, there's no way you could bring yourself to waste it and you literally can't afford to. Cuz meat is rare isn't it? You know, we probably both grew up on stretch meals. And I don't even need to describe to you what a stretch meal is either! I can remember a time when getting a full glass of juice was like....almost dangerous lol! Even now as a grown man I always feel like my mother is gonna walk in the room and say, "nope, you ain't drinkin' all the juice up cuz that's all we have, you get half a cup" lol.
@@_The_Traveler_ I didn't grow lavishly but at the same time , I didn't get to the lowest level of struggling to get daily meals but I hope you and your family are doing better brother. I remember the days we used lanterns and those irons you put coal in to iron your clothes tho

This was the first time i have watched your videos. I watched the previous video and this one together. So I got the view of the complete procedure of harvesting the honey from beginning to end. They were super interesting videos. I learned a lot about beekeeping and harvesting honey. I have always loved honey even the first time I tasted it. My mother worked in a country grocery store, where the owner bought some of the products he sold from the neighboring farmers. A few of them kept a lot of bees to help with their crops and to sell the honey as part of their income. So my mother had access to fresh produce and of course freshly harvested honey. She brought some jarred honey and honeycomb chunks home. She gave me a piece of the whole honeycomb when I was about 4 yrs old (I am 76 now). The memory of biting off a piece so impacted me that when I close my eyes and think about it, I can still feel the delicious sweetness running down my throat. Then chewing on the wax, to get the rest of the honey out, was truly heaven to this 4-yr. I was hooked. As I got older, I learned some facts about honey. The one that was God-inspiring, was that honey NEVER spoils no matter how long it is kept. Your videos are interesting. I was only going to watch these 2 because bees are extremely fascinating to me. But, you have just received a new subscriber because of the way you have presented the information regarding the bees and your beekeeping. Now I have to go to the store and get me some honey and comb. 😄 Looking forward to watching more of your videos. God bless. ✝️

Oh thank you, Mr. Ed, for ending this sad week with an uplifting video! I've been feeling pretty down last couple of days, but your beaming smile, and the sight of those bees drinking up that honey at the end made me feel better. Sometimes it's hard to see the blessings, isn't it, until someone shows us? Thank you!

Great video!! Really did enjoy it !! Thank You
Thank you. I never had an interest on bee keeping but I was curious about the kind of process that a experienced bee keeper would have to go through. Its actually quite fascinating and the equipment is amazing. I'm sure its not cheap but the methodology and sequence was something I never thought about but now that I've seen it, I'm very impressed. Mr. Ed
Awesome that you have become a member on top of being a subscriber for more than a year, thank you very much for that. Please do me another favor, reach out to me on my email, oscelata@gmail.com I'd really like to talk with you. God's peace.

I get ya , you gotta lick your plate clean
@@aquatikcamel4034 This, and the secondary rule was, "If you don't finish your food now you'll be seeing it later"
@@_The_Traveler_ That's why you never leave meat for later

Mr. Ed
