- Hello Beatles friends! I attended the Storytellers event with Paul McCartney and Conan O’ Brien at the BMCC TriBeCa Performing Arts Center in NYC on 06/15/2023. Paul discussed his new book “1964 Eyes Of The Storm” with Conan. Here’s my video post of the event. I only recorded about 24 minutes of the event. Enjoy and thank you for watching!
Conan said it best: Nobody has brought more joy to more people than Paul McCartney.
Exactly. Thank you for watching!
Definitely.
The Beach Boys are tops on that list. Paul might even agree with me.
Great job, I agree completely with the sentiment.
@@superdoov Not even close, and I am a huge Beach Boys fan.
We still have two Beatles around, reminders that the magic we felt was not a dream or imagined from a fairy tale.
This comment hit my soul really well - how true are these words 👍💟
❤
@Scott-tv6vcWhat was the real name of Pete?
Sobre todo para las nuevas generaciones Aunque sea el deleite de conocer a los 2 Beatles aun en vida
Seen Paul McCartney twice and both shows were magical. My hubby talked me into seeing Ringo's All Star Band a couple of years ago. I was surprised at how awestruck I was and remembered that he was such an amazing part of some of the greatest musical history ever. I thanked my husband for talking me into something I didn't realize I needed to see. The only other remaining Beatle. ❤
Paul just wears it all so gracefully.
YES. He knows who he is. Unassuming and genuine.
I was there. It’s really quite moving being in the same room with the man. Incredible.
Can you say more about that? I'm curious to know what that energy is like. Paul is my absolute fav, but I've wondered about seeing him in person because, to be real, he's not the deepest thinker, he's a ham, etc. I say all this with love, btw - of all the people I've never met, I love Paul most. I'm just curious what he brings to the room. I do think it's possible I'd just break down in tears if he were within 20 feet of me.
Conan?
I agree. Thank you for watching!
@@SAK1855 I mean, just watch. It happens in every single room he ever walks into. When there is a room full of superstar rock stars, when he walks in, they instantly turn into 10 year old fans.
@@loosilu I watched it. I'm wondering what it felt like from the POV of someone there. He represents so much more than himself in those rooms, I would imagine it's like all of your beautiful memories just become manifest before you. But that's just a guess.
He and his bandmates have been a huge part of my life since I was four. I’m grateful to have breathed the same air
Absolutely. Thank you for watching Jeff
Same here since I was 4….. long live Paul and Ringo!
Dichoso
Yeah...what hits me is there are 7 BILLION people on the planet, and this man called Paul is one of four from now over 60 years ago that people still know...what is it like to go to bed at night knowing at least half the world's population knows who you are? Im a guy...if thousands of gorgeous women chased me when i was in my 20's i would have made a fool of myself daily...now we didnt have social media back then (thank goodness)...and they were not saints, but again, who can relate to this life? We have seen so many with fortune and fame that became weird or recluses or...these guys handled fame better than anyone...look at Ringo...he's 83 and dances at the end of his set with the All-Starrs...incredible really.
This dude is 81 years old, wearing an outfit that would not loook out of place in a grocery store, and within seconds he owns the room and gets the women to scream on command.
8 billion*
greatest composer of melodies in popular music history
Love Paul Forever! What a gift to humanity he is.
Feel the love in that room, hanging on to Paul's every word. What a joy to watch. I love the audience reaction to the photos. Very touching.
I agree. Thank you for watching!
He owned the room in SECONDS!
@@loosilu he owned the room before he walked on!
@@buddyneher9359 true! and he owned it decades ago. He did that.
A walking talking living legend, let's enjoy Paul while we can....
He’s not going anywhere
He's so wise and funny I am completely enjoying the lad. We would not be complete or as nourished without the Beatles.
Exactly.
This is Epic
The recent interview of Paul Anka by Bill Burr of all people, is fascinating in Anka's reminiscing about Elvis and coming across the Beatles before they were internationally famous. Here's a 7 minute clip of it...ua-cam.com/video/yXvhBKxoDTQ/v-deo.html
"We were cool". "Thanks for clearing that up."
Conan really is a great interviewer. Funny but actually listens. Good questions too.
@@atroyz Conan is brilliant. The right amount of humour without detracting from anything.
One of the greatest songwriters in history. Melody pours out of him. Turns out he's also a great photographer too. My copy of the book arrived yesterday (if you'll excuse the pun). Wonderful story-telling images.
What’s the name of the book??
That’s great Ian. Hope you enjoy the new photo book from Paul. Thank you for watching!
1964 Eye Of The Storm
@@Beatlevinyl85 thank you
I absolutely love this man. I hope he lives well into his 90s…
I do too :)
I agree! Conan O' Brian should be immortal!
I'm jk, well, I do want Conan to be around a long time, too! I am happy that Paul is still around and able to share everything with us ❤️ I loved this video and I love The Beatles ❤️❣️❤️
Living legend! He’s 81 years old today, 6/18/23! God bless you, Sir Paul!
I'm a few years younger than Paul McCartney, and sometimes find myself thinking 'I hope I *don't* outlive him' because I love these moments with him so much I want them to go on and on, and not be without them. I hope this makes sense.
More than you know.
Makes sense to me. He cannot die before me - I just couldn't cope 🥲
He has to outlive me. I don't think I will be able to deal with the ghastly alternative.
@@clarathordiss3663 Agree with you. It would be like the world had just stopped spinning.
"Make sense"? I was holding it together watching this until I came to your comment.
This was an entire blessing Conan. Wow just wow, ❤
Happy Birthday Paul❤🎉Tomorrow 18 June is your birthday ✨✨✨🙏🏻😬🎊👏👏👏👏🎉✨✨✨✨God bless you Paul McCartney
McCartney is amazing; still putting new things after all these years. What a human treasure.
The ambassador of culture to me for the whole Earth. Happy birthday Sir.
Great podcast! Sir Paul is the best. Can’t wait for the “new” Beatles song later this year. Beatles 4ever! (Conan is great too).
Thank you for watching Michael!
Now and Then 🎵🎶
Thank you on behalf of those like me who couldn,t be there.
And thank you, Paul
You can see the love Paul makes in the photos he takes.
And in the end ❤️
Thank you for watching!
Very clever of you, and true!👍😃
TY for posting. I got teary more than once. What gift you are to all of us, Sir Paul.
Yep, those photos of John and George...
Gets me every time.
You’re welcome Paula :)
Love you Paul McCartney from Australia to you with love 💕
Paul is the greatest who ever lived. No contest
a perfect human being.
Paul and Ringo are the best and age gracefully and Paul is going full steam music and concerts how amazing from the beautiful Beatles days, Love him very much and I am a mere 66 and also looking good for my age but not a vegan but more so lately into intermittent fasting only a couple of months ago and quitting a lot of Beer (totally) and cigarettes but still look young but don't know about my insides, Yikes!!! ☮✌💖
a very Happy Birthday to Paul...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR.PAUL.
8️⃣1️⃣ YEARS FULL OF FAB MUSIC AND SENSITIVITY THAT YOU GIVE TO THE WORLD.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
YEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAHHH
beautiful. This is the most openly I’ve heard Paul speak.
Happy birthday Macca!
It's amazing how many of us have the same (or very similar) memories. I was 3 1/2 when The Beatles went on Ed Sullivan for the first time. I was already a music fan, listening to the music my older siblings listened to on the radio and record player. But when they came along I was immediately taken in by them. Their suits, the long hair, those cool boots, those accents, the way they stepped back and bowed at the end of each song. And most of all the music. I was a fan for life from that moment on. My brother bought 'Meet The Beatles' right around then, and I knew and loved all of those songs when I was still three! We got the UA version of 'A Hard Day's Night', then 'Something New', then 'Beatles 65', and on and on. My sisters Mary and Terry and I would say 'let's play Beatles' and we'd pretend we were them, trying to mimic those English accents. When the cartoon came on we were devoted fans. At some point tbey started showing the movies on TV and we always made sure to watch them. My younger sister and I got money to buy an album from our parents when we were maybe 8 and 6 six years old, 1968-ish. I don't remember why, that was the only time anything like that ever happened. Our brother who had 'Meet The Beatles' had moved out with his records two years earlier, and we both immediately knew that was the album we were buying. We walked up to Wards by ourselves (yes, back then kids were allowed to do that) and bought the record and went straight back home to play it. We wore that album out. I can honestly say my life would have been different (and lesser) without The Beatles. I've been playing in bands for many years and always play and sing some Beatles songs. Thank you, John, Paul, George and RIngo. You changed the world of music and were an important part of millions of peoples lives, including mine. And thanks for posting this! I'm sure I'll be watching it again on Conan's page when he gets around to posting his version.
You’re welcome Jim. Everything is well said here. Thank you for watching!
Love it! Happy birthday, Sir Paul!
@paulmccartneypriv I'm absolutely "made up" with your reply...like your reply is made up. But ta very much anyway! 😏🎶"You tell lies thinkin' I can't see..." 🎶 C'mon, anyone who guesses the song that came from wins 💰💷🏆, lol 🤣
Paul is a wonderful soul
This is extraordinary. Thank you so much for taking the time to record and share this with us.
You’re welcome. I wanted to record the entire event but I feared I was going to get into trouble by the Tribeca staff. Conan will make this event available for his podcast. Thank you for watching!
Happy birthday Sir Paul ❤!
That was really beautiful ❤ Thank you for sharing! I love the photos of John and in particular the photo of John and George together was lovely.
You’re welcome and thank you for watching!
How i love this man such a genius
Got the respect he deserves.
Thank you very much for sharing this interview my friend. Always, since I was thirteen years old, I have greatly admired this great human being. It surprises me more with the passing of time. It's an example to follow. I will always love him in the good sense of the word. My respects to Sir Paul McCartney today and always. Thanks a lot.
You’re welcome. Also thank you for watching!
Thanks Conan. That was so great.

Just got the book. It's beautiful. ❤❤
Thank you endlessly for this! How I wish I could've been there! This made me so happy to watch. We were once all so young!
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for sharing this! I’m a New Yorker but I had something I just couldn’t get out of last night which is why I didn’t buy a ticket. Looks like a great time; love Paul’s stories as always and Conan is such a big Beatles fan. My copy of the book is coming tomorrow- super excited. Paul is someone who can make me happy any time, any day! I could never be grateful enough for him. I’m a huge Wings fan too :)

A very nice and warm, intimate, yet casual talk on Paul's mates, their lives, personalities in photos of the past, yet so up to date as if it was Yesterday. Thank you for sharing. Much appreciated. I hope you will give your take on the program in the near future. Well done. The book seems like a fascinating read for Beatle fans worldwide and other on lookers. It is Fab. Thanks so much !!
Hello DJ Reid. I had a great time at the event. Thank you for watching!
The photo of Brian is the best I’ve ever seen
I love that photo of Brian too. Thank you for watching!
Spectacular interview! Love Paul!
Thank you so much for this. I doubt I’ll ever get a chance to be in the same room as McCartney but this gets me a little closer.
Sir Paul is the greatest songwriter of all time
I'm better
What a joke
When a Beatle takes a photo the F in F-Stop stands for Fab!
no way that happened omg. Just seeing those two humble, funny and creative people interact makes me happy
I agree. I had an amazing time :)
Terrific recording, I feel like I was there.
Thanka for sharing this with us. Its beautiful!
You’re welcome and thank you for watching :)
Enjoyed that - makes the book even better. Saw a similar thing, even though I live in NZ, with Ringo at the El Ray when he launched his Genesis book about 5 years ago.. Thanks again.
It’s just awesome

Thank you so much for posting this. Really great for us not lucky enough to have been there to get a glimpse of the show. Also really nice to hear Paul telling some different stories for a change. I'm going to the exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London on July 1. Thanks again
Hello Beatleytones. Great to see you. I wish I recorded the entire event but I fear I was going to get in trouble by the theater staff. But Conan will have this event available on his podcast. Hope you enjoy the exhibit in London on July 1. Thank you for watching!
I was only 2 1/2 when the Beatles made their 1st appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. I remember thinking that I was going to see giant beetles playing music when Ed introduced them. I do remember walking around the house signing I Wanna Hold Your Hand. Came to love Rubber Soul later in my 20's, still my fav🤗
How fantastic was that to be in the audience taking a picture of a picture that Paul took with Paul in the picture 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing!

You’re welcome and thank you for watching!
I was Row E aisle seat to the left. Very surprised the interview centered around the new photos. But nothing about the new song, which did not make the Anthology, BBC4 covered it this week.
Hello there. The discussion event was only going to be about Paul’s book and not about the new song. I really didn’t want Paul to talk about it. Only focus on the new book. Thank you for watching!
Yes, we know that there will be a new Beatles song coming. It makes you wonder, could there be more than just one laying undiscovered somewhere?

Thank you so much for sharing this. I sort of wish it wasn't edited, but I rather have this than nothing! So amazing! And amazing to see people who grew up in that era to post here on UA-cam so that we can further vicariously experience what they were fortunate enough to experience in person
Hey, Marv... this must have been one of the most exciting hours ever spent in your life.
I am also grateful The Beatles didn't go the big saxophone player route.
