For the Deluxe series, Hondo set up a plant in Japan for top of the line instruments. The regular lines were made in Korea, by Korean's, trained by Japanese luthiers. I have a 1983 Deluxe 935 in cherry finish with stock Di Marzio pups, that is a super solid piece of kit. Better than some Gibby 335's that have been in hand. Almost everyone that plays it wants to buy it.
Some of the old Hondos are sleeper guitars 👍🏽 specially if you pick up a Fame series model or the deluxe series, those were made of solid wood not the layered aka ply.
I got what I thought was a Hondo body very similar to that off marketplace for 60$. It was H/H configuration. In the neck pocket was a weird stamp... .. .. .. .. DiMarzio! I scored a dimarzio explorer body made in the usa on marketplace for 60$ Canadian. They were made of boogie bodies. I gotta finish making the rest of it. I got a USA Carvin neck for it.
🤟😁👍Stopped in at Zimm's , "just got paid today, got me a pocket full of change" to buy that geeetar but they were boxing it up to ship. Dane said they got a phone call 2 hours after the video was released and it was sold. Boogers!😥
Wonder how the guitar sounds!!!! 🤔 Hondo went out of business years ago!!! I remember seeing the ads for Hondo in the early 80s!!!! The guitars always had these cool flashy paint job schemes!!! 😊 Paul Dean of Loverboy fame had a signature Hondo guitar made for him back in 1983-85!!!! 😊😂😊 😃 😊 😀 😄 I love your channel bro!!!! ❤🎉❤🎉😂🎉🎉❤
I’m looking for a 70s Kay Thin hollow body made with what Kay called Tiger Wood. It’s model KH90T but I want the Fender looking Headstock instead of the Les Paul style headstock.
I would love to have a cheap inexpensive explore shaped guitar!!!! 😊😂 since Epiphone explore guitars are going up in price!!!! And a Gibson explore is beyond my reach!!!! Too expensive!!! 😮
First new guitar I ever bought was a hondo les paul copy, early 80's.

My first guitar was a Hondo les Paul copy copy when I was 10 years old 🤘🏻🎸

I have a red Hondo V. I did some rewiring, it's now my main Axe. ❤ The Atomik sends. Peace ✌. 😊
A great vintage project guitar. A fave entry level guitar from the 80's!
I remember seeing Michael Denner of Mercyful Fate with a Hondo during the Don't Break the Oath tour.

Well, if it sounds as good as it looks it ought to sell quickly! :)
only real people know this is a reupload cause the other half of the vid was missing
Did you find a back plate for it? Did Hondo make guitars for other companies?

id pick aria or hondo over gibson any day. 🍻
Go buy a guitar today, hell go to Zimms
How much?
Already Sold!
@@ZIMMSGUITARS that sold fast
What did it sell for?
@@davidkastin4240ofcourse it sold fast the guitar looks super cool
Why is this guitar only 21 frets?
Old fender style neck. 24 frets would have been cool on this but they just didn't put a lot of time in to sending these to market.
@@brucemyers5463 24 frets were unheard of in the early 80's.

What are You asking for this Guitar??
If that guitar were a dog it would be 280 years old.
set of 9s would have helped, 10s are prob a bit big for that old girl zimm. lol
Sorry to say those tuners are crap, you see them on cheap beginner guitars, you'll spend more time tuning the guitar than playing it lol
