I’m glad you mentioned the “pressure” or “clamping” sensations many people experience when using active noise cancelling (ANC) headphones. I’m one of those people and it’s not only uncomfortable but it makes almost all ANC products unusable (and I’ve tried many, from $50 to almost $1,000. The pressure is tolerable for a while, however the nausea is not. Thank you for including how much pressure you’re experiencing in your review as that aspect is often left out of many reviews.

well another thing besides "head pressure" is a feedback. idk if I'm the only one experiencing this. but basically I'm yawning while listening to song on anc headphones.
as I yawning, the headphone's driver gives a loud & constant feedback like when you got 2 mic getting close to one another and it screech like crazy.
only happened to me once. probably happened bcs of science or some sht. resonance from my ear probably match the frequency of the anc. and it goes "reeeeee" feedback like crazy.
turned it off and on again, never had that issue ever since

I bought them as an upgrade. I fell in love with them almost immediately. Wearing headphones 8-10 hours a day at work meant quality was essential.
me too, their a huge step up from regular airpods, they took a bit to get used to when i first got them, probably due to the larger size but once i got used to them man are they nice, i work on noisy construction sites and the noise cancellation is so good i often use them over earplugs, what’s nice about them is their essentially earplugs that play music and that you can turn on and off without removing them, and for other loud things like mowing the lawn or going to a concert or something like that they work just as well, that coupled with the surprisingly balanced sound, superior fitment( like seriously i have yet to find a pair of earbuds that fit as well as airpods do) dolby atmos support, great battery life, the surprisingly rugged and solid build quality and bluetooth connection that works so well it’s probably faster then plugging in wired earbuds make them the best earbuds i’ve ever owned, most of my old wired earbuds have been givin away at this point because the airpods are just that good

The ease of use is something that's magical alone. I use them all the time because there's ZERO hassle putting taking them out of the case and putting them in. It's one of the times where "It just works" fits Apple's products. Not audiophile but close enough for me and most people. It's a pleasant experience.
In my opinion the coolest part is the transparency mode. I don’t know if that was a feature on the old ones or not, but it’s very helpful.

Just want to say thank you Linus!!! I got these based on your recommendation and took your advice on using them. At home, I use the noise cancelation to take the edge off with my kids after hard days. I am not joking when I say these changed my life. They take my stress level way down and have helped me enjoy the sadly little time I get with my son. Thank you SO much. I probably wouldnt have thought of using them without any sound going through them but it is amazing just to quiet my life down just enough for me to relax and my kid to have fun!!!

I have non noice cancelling headphones but they have excellent passive cancelling and when my kids are too much after work I just put them on with nothing playing… it’s like real world volume control lol
This review is hilariously informative and hands-in-the-air one of the best reviews I’ve ever watched. I just ordered the AirPods Pro (APP) but kept asking myself if I should have gotten the PowerBeats Pro (PBP) instead. After watching an endless stream of comparative reviews between the two, I stumbled across yours. I’m not going to lie: you’re not my go-to Apple review simply because you do have a slight disdain for Apple, sometimes founded and sometimes not. With that said, if you endorse them considering that disdain, then they have to be quality. And inasmuch as I want the PBP for their black matte finish and 9 hour battery life, ultimately the ANC of the APP, the smaller case, the wireless charging, and the Find My Device features are too much to turn away from. I didn’t even know that the PBP don’t show up in Find My Device (thanks for that tidbit). Finally, a review that actually helped me make a decision on what to purchase.

The fuller mids and bass are mostly due to the canal occlusion effect. By removing the path for those larger, more powerful waves to escape the canal, more of their energy is retained against the eardrum. This also should mean that they can be played at lower sound pressure levels and achieve the same perceived decibel level. Of course this also means that they can be played at overall higher SPL which would increase the already significant risk of noise induced sensorineural hearing loss.

I got some of these and I absolutely love them. When I bought them they seemed expensive but now if I lost them id buy another pair the next day.
i keep mine on transparency almost permanently. nice to have quick conversations with people without having to pull one out or pause my music provided of course that im not listening at ridiculously high volumes which i dont. these have made my try ios for the first time switched to a xr just because of them

I bought them as an upgrade to my airpods, and I was actually considering switching back to the original airpods because I like the tap controls, but once I found out the pros had ANC, I absolutely had to keep them. I’ve never heard of ANC before the pros tbh

These earphones have a ton of innovation, you just wouldn't be able to tell judging by this "review".

If you think these are innovative, you're blind or don't know what you're talking about. Barely anything relating headphones, earphones, phones, etc are innovative anymore. Everyone copies eachother.

These airpods are an original product, the tips are patented and the methodology used to create a seal without pressure sensation is ingenious in its whole package.
