Play along to this backing track to learn how to solo, refine your lead guitar skills, and fully understand the fretboard. This jam track is in C# Aeolian and uses the chords F#m, B, C#m. It is a great example of a chords progression that does not start on the I chord. In this case it starts on the iv. These used to really trip me up when I was a baby guitarist... Try it for yourself if your don't believe me: which sounds better: F# minor pentatonic, of C# minor pentatonic? If your answer is C# minor pentatonic, then we're playing C# Aeolian!

I never thought I’d get into Zappa for some reason. Although I love funk, progressive and rock music all in one. I need to explore his catalog again. Your tracks are so great. Jam on these for an hour easy.
He has got an amazing array of stuff, there’s a lot that I can’t get into, but there’s a lot that I really love.

This was also one of my first backing tracks. When i started i knew no scales or theory at all, i just did one of my favourite solos ever which included blues penta, harmonic minor and a bit of some weird flatted lydian thing that I still can't quite explain. i stole it from some bebop scale. But I'm getting there! Thanks :D

C# Bebop Minor works too in small doses, I kept shifting between aeolean, minor pentatonic, and minor bebop and it never fell apart on me lol

I am loving the triad fingerings, it has opened a new world for me. I'm a bass player and have never needed to play chords. This is helping me to be a better guitar player, even though I'm not one. 😏👍
