    ah yes he crown jewel of compositions, this song is an achievement in music history. An honor to solo over this. And thank you a beginner trying to make sense of triads and CAGED these help a lot Of course it's super fun to stay in pentatonic but adding a little flavour makes it that much better

  • @HighStakesDanny

    I broke thru. This is exactly what I needed to understand what is going on with music all these years. yes...you can stay with pentatonic but why not learn the triads and change with the chords! This is why I love Jazz but struggle with it. no why they change scales with each beat but they know the general scale and go from there within the measure up a semitone and down a semitone. You have enlightened my playing and my mind. please keep these changing scale video coming although this one will last me months. Thanks so much!

      You made my day man. I'm glad this is working for you! I always tell my students that lead guitar is basically rhythm guitar, with more notes. If you can play the chords in any area on the neck, you then have the tools to play a great lead too.

    The charts do make all the difference when it comes to not having to actually think up whatever changes are coming. Sure, this is a skill you have to develop if you want to be actually able to play anything interesting, but damn, jut using the charts once in a while makes it so effortless...

    I don't know if somebody had already pointed it, but during the verses it's shown G minor instead of G# minor. It may confuse those who are not good with harmony theory.

    That's great, you should give this kind of tip more often on your track videos !

    • @phildrag
      @phildrag 4 роки тому +2

      you are right. There is a very slight pass through the C# harmonic minor , then C# Mixolydian (very brief) then back to C# minor (that is when the G# becomes major and then the C# also goes major)
