Glad you watched their actual video too. It's one of my favorites. :) Mike's outfit in this is his tribute to A Clockwork Orange's Alex character. This video is a great blend of fun, chaos, humor and sarcasm, it perfectly suits the song lyrics and the band itself. It's not an illusion, you are hearing The bass more...The video version is actually a different studio mix than the one one the album... that features the guitar solo as a fade out, and highlights the backing vocals and keys more. This was a design choice. Fun facts...this song hit #92 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #40 on the Mainsteam Rock chart. Though one of their more successful songs...they rarely ever play this live, they got bored of it and felt it didn't read well with live crowds. They officially announced it as their last time ever playing it in 1993. However, they did bring it back at a few shows on their last tour.

i think he alluded in an earlier video to the possibility of going thru the album The Real Thing from start to finish. If he does, boy there's some great and surprising stuff on that record. Not quite the range of craziness on Angel Dust (which i still think is their magnum opus) but a real well put together alt-rock album.

Yeah.. I was in high school when this came out. It was an awesome song. The bass guitar was accentuated because of this particular bass player.
