I find a little gold everytime i pan the river near my house here in Ohio, obviously i'm about 200 years too late to find gold equal to the smallest flakes you may find in Canada, I always come away with a little though and it's adding up through the years.
Yea it only takes me finding a picked in my pan or sluicebox, to find more energy, sometimes I can be feeling tired and had enough for the day, and if I find a good piece of gold, I'm feeling no pain I'm wide awake 😅😅😅, it's such a buzz gild should be prescribed by a doctor 😂😂😂
OH MY GOD 😮 (I had to spell it out for emphasis!)!!!! The first thing that popped into my head when you grabbed the elongated first nugget was, "That's a golden key!" It certainly was what I would name it! What a fantastic opportunity and operation. That is the first time I saw and learned about a jig. Ingenuity at its finest. The end result was gleaming, clean gold. The jig takes out all the hard work of panning/shaker tabling the cons to separate out black sand, etc. The Pinolyte was huge! From what I could see, the designs were just as stunning. I'm glad that they learned about this type of rock and are separating it out from the tailings. If I remember correctly, your first video at the Flat Bear Mine was when you discovered it and was on video discussing the gem and that this would be the only other place it was found. That is a pretty rare find and those specimens are huge! I really love the smoothness of their mine. Although this happened to be an incredible day for them, they are trying to cross every T and dot each I. Such a beautiful place! As always, I appreciate you sharing this incredible mine with us. Such a joy seeing golden goodness with smiles to match! May you always find gold between your toes! 🦶🦶 Blessings from Alabama ❤️
Nuggets like that can fetch a nice price at auction. large nuggets are far more valuable when left unprocessed. Then again, it seems to be a show piece for the mine owners.
They should make a mold of the large nugget, cast it in resin, then make a resin copy from the mold to send to a brass foundry to make copies of the nugget. It's not every day you find something that amazing.
That was an awesome video, and what I really thought was nice was just the kindness the owners showed letting us all see. Look like they work hard but also enjoy it

I worked in a small mine in eldorado county ca,in the 1970sand 80s,and crushed cemented gravel the nuggets look just like that and our biggest pice of gold was5.5oz.,so cool too see that gold in the rock before it was crushed, and seen a room miners made back in the day and you could see the nuggets in the walls on private property of course, new owners now cant see it but its there.i seen Mason jars full of dime size nuggets and it all went to china town San Francisco, waht a great experience in that time in my life.my wife had so nice jewelry from my earnings at the pit.keep it on coming, showing the real nuggs.

So what do they do with these nuggets they are finding? Do they process them with the rest of the gold, or do they sell them separately to collectors? How much gold do they find per a season? How much do they average a day? Dan, I would love to see you visit more of these placer operations! Most of us really only know mining at 2 different levels: the hobbyist using high bankers or maybe a dredge, or the major commercial operations we see on “Gold Rush”. It’s awesome learning about the wide variety of mining that doesn’t get much attention, and the fascinating individuals making these operations work.
A couple of very nice necklace hangers ! The biggest one I've held was seven ounces , not mine though still very privileged to actually have held it. Gold is beautiful no matter what size from the smallest micro specks to that big beauty at fifteen ounces.
You know I got excited about the whole panning for gold thing, as a new hobby. You know, something to do with my latter years... Went on Amazon got me a little panning kit and all that stuff spent about 60 bucks, only to find out that there's no gold in Texas 🤣🤣🤣 I was very disappointed
And like all UA-camrs with 1.21M subs, he bought all the gold from today for HurdDirt paydirt bags⛏️👌What a ledgend, supporting all channel participants and bringing everyone UP with him. A true pillar of the small scale community.👍👌🇦🇺

3:55 I LOVE how excited Dan is to find nuggets!! .. Even when they are his friends gold! :) .. He doesn't really care about the money .. it's just finding gold!!!
Such a cool operation! So, that was what, a $16K to $20K day? I wonder how much they have to find per day to stay ahead of the game. Very nice video, Dan!
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻 Dan I have missed you so much. And your videos. I had respiratory failure and a heart attack. On the 7th of Octobe.r So I'm way behind on my videos. So I get to do a marathon. And I can't think of a better way to start. Okay, I caught Carson's name and Joe's. But there's three other people there, besides you. So I want to thank all four of you, for the entertainment. This was just amazing.
Wow, dawn, I just came across your post? Watching Dan's gold something else, isn't it? But I most importantly, I want to pray for you and your recovery. It seems to me like you're doing better with what I can read. But I definitely want to lift you up and pray, and heaven Father, give you the best of health, God bless you from Olympia Washington.
as a young Lad i have found Several Pieces Of Lost Gold Jewelry, a smashed ring on the street, and a necklace at a carwash. I should start prospecting ey. 😂
So we assume you're going to fill in all the holes ect that you've done after you're finishing in that area. You know, rehabilitate the area. ? Or are you just going to walk away and move on ?
Ive watched dan for quite a while. I live near medford oregon where its my understanding there is gold in my area. I wonder where to even start though? Its kind of daunting with all the laws, where you can and cant do what, on top of where i would even start looking! But i would love to find enough gold someday to make and have my own ring made out of it!
Come and join us on live chats with Dan's Sunday premieres. They are at 6 AM Pacific Time. We all enjoy the stories of what each person has found/done for the week. I always learn something new because Dan has his "Geology Lesson of the Day" (or GLOTD), in which he shows in depth explanations on finds and answers questions. Dan has an incredible knowledge base and wants everyone to learn. Hope to talk to you there! Welcome to the Hurd Herd!
.Hey Dan, that "Hand Full" matches that prospectors beard pretty well! Lol! .... Great excursion, Dan, seems like a good bunch of people, their getting good results! Interesting piece of equipment....⚒️⚖️💰🤠
Oh my gosh that's a lot of gold and we love to see a lot of gold so thank you Dan❤ for making this video for us❤ because you know we all love to see the gold❤ thank you for your friends that are doing this to clean the environment of gold❤❤😂
Just curious. I noticed one of the nuggets was attached all around a big rock. Do you smelt all the gold down your self before you try and sell it? Or do you sell gold raw like that, and somehoe factor in weight of the pebbles, rocks, ect?
I looked at uk gold prices recently and it seems to average around £2,800 an ounce but the price changes constantly and it was around £2,500 but also upto £2,995 so your doing well if you can pull an ounce a day from a small claim I don't know what the overhead would be but it's gold you work hard you will get pay dirt.
I was surprised to hear him. Say that we're catching the flower gold. Because catching fines, you usually have to have real clean water. Because the water is obviously heavier the dirty. The water is so having really clean. Water is very , very important to catch fine gold
At todays prices 10 oz of gold depending on purity is aprox 25,500$ as of august 29 2024 at aprox6:39pm and that doesn't include the premium of the nuggets which could add an extra up to 10% on the price!!

You have to love Dan Hurd's enthusiasm. His videos are great.
Boy I hope that they are treating that one with quartz specimen correctly. I'd love to get my hands on that one without dissolving the quartz
For anyone that is curious, 10 oz of gold is worth approximately $20.4k USD.
After melt, I’d assume they’d have 13oz of pure gold. I checked prices and it was $25,752 US or $35,339 Canadian. That’s a reasonable car lol
Plus nugget price
That nugget would never sell for spot. You could get at least a 2.5x multiplier from a collector.
What do you all think the operating cost per day is?
@@andymarshall33261800+ , they said 1000 in fuel easy plus workers, and all the business cost of maintenance on machines and other bills.
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for bringing us along for such an adventure Dan!
Hi Dan , hope all is well. Looking at that nugget, I wonder if any might get pushed out with the big rocks. And the specimen nugget is really cool.
My fav piece was the one half quartz and half gold, absolutely beautiful.
