Morenkeji, welcome to the your new life long love affair with The Beatles. A bit of trivia about this song.... George Harrison performed not one, not two, but THREE different versions of his guitar solo for the song. The first was recorded during the live takes which were recorded on film in January 1969. In April 1969 George overdubbed his original solo with a 2nd "subdued" version, and that was the version released as a single in March 1970, which predictably went to Number One. However... George Harrison was quite chummy with Phil Spector in early 1970 - his solo album All Things Must Pass was produced by Phil Spector. At that time, Spector was tasked by The Beatles to do some "tidying up work" on the unreleased album called Let It Be, and George Harrison did yet ANOTHER overdub solo for the official "album version" of the song. This final version was played on Les Paul through a Fender Twin cranked to the max, and it has a much gnarlier harder tone to it. That's the version you've played in your video. If you'd like to hear the original "softer version" on the "45rpm single" you can find it on Spotify under Let It Be in the 2015 Beatles album release called "1". The guitar solos are so different most people think the songs are entirely different takes.
There are sad folk out there that just thumb down anything and everything, I doubt they even stayed to the end of the video. sad times we live in I am sorry to say. TROLLS.

Paul McCartney's mother, who died when he was a teen, 14, 16 or so, was Mary McCartney - He said one of the things that him and John Lennon had in common when they met was that they both had lost their mothers recently - Lennon's story is particularly tragic
Something similar happened to me at 10 years old , My mother left an abusive man not my father and we could only find an old damp caravan to stay in ,, I awoke in the middle of the night and felt a presence and I felt not words but feelings telling me all would be good, I went back to sleep happy ,,
She says it sounds like a church hymn and that's what it was suppose to sound like. Before the Beatles version came out Paul McCartney sent a copy of the song to Aretha Franklin to record a version. Aretha's version was the first one that some people heard.
I was a bit young for the Beatles, my brother and sister saw them in the Cavern, when I got older I used to go to all-nighters in the Cavern and listen to Mo- Town, great videos
If you watch the new ‘Get Back’ docu-series you’ll see that the true 5th Beatle was a black man. Billy Preston. He brought this session together. He’s the keyboard player. I’m white by the way. The Beatles were true music for everyone .
Most of my siblings and I were in grade school when The Beatles entered our lives and believe it or not, my parents would not allow us to listen to them. Of course we did listen at school and my older sister and I started using the lyric's at home on the sly when we talked to our younger brothers and sisters. My mom made a comment one time and told me she noticed me saying nice things to my brother Tom and my older sister couldn't hold it back. She started laughing and blabbed that we've been saying the words to Beatles songs for almost a year. Mom didn't believe her so we would bring home 45's from our friends and play them for her on her record player. I remember hearing the song named "Something" playing over and over and over again after we went to bed one night. To this day my sister and I don't know which one or if they both listened to it that night. My dad would only say he didn't like the long hair and for me not to get any ideas about growing long hair and didn't want me to listen to the communism song (Imagine). It took me a while to figure out which song he was talking about and turns out the Catholic church didn't like that song either. I love the song "Imagine" and I didn't grow long hair and a beard until I got out of the Air Force, but the hair and beard only lasted a year and a half. Thank you for giving me and I'm sure the rest of us, the chance to watch you listening to and reacting to, all this great music. Ed D

This song is about a dream that Paul had knowing the band was going to make their last album, his mother Mary came to him and told him to let it be. It is still one the best songs ever and it invokes so much emotion. To me I think of my grandmother who meant the world to me and I still miss her. I think that's what is great about this song, it means something different to everyone.
OMG, I just want to give yo a big hug. Your message to your dad and everyone was touching. Your father is a blessed man to have you as his daughter... I would be the proudest man on earth with a daughter like you. Stay Awesome and beautiful Baby Girl.
"Mother Mary" is Paul's long-deceased Mom. She advised Paul in a dream because he was quite troubled during the time leading to the Beatles breaking up. She told him to simply "let it be," that things would eventually resolve. I think it's interesting that Paul included the line "I wake up to the sound of music ..." since he composed many of his hit songs from music he heard in sleep, just prior to awakening. Paul was pretty angry when he was played this collection of songs because much of it it was embellished by Phil Spector. He was completely unaware that Phil had got hold of the tape. Paul has said he heard this song in his head as a lone piano, possibly also with acoustic guitar and electric keyboard. Luckily Phil seems to have held back a bit with "Let it Be," never unleashing his trademark Wall of Sound on it. That might've been disastrous.
He also woke up in his childhood home to the sound of his mom and dad, aunties and uncles and friends singing songs with his dad playing the piano. they were a very musical family his dad especially.
The Beatles had such wonderfully simple songs that were complex at the same time. Try out "Eleanor Rigby", "Martha, My Dear" and "Hey Jude." But they have a billion great songs for you to discover.
