this is a masterpiece i remember this in the sixties and this is even better especially being in the open air magical voice and what about the orchestra as well as the ladies choir singing like angels respect and best wishes to the people in denmark from the uk xx
Gary Booker has recently passed away Feb 2022. . Here was only 22 born 1945, when he had done the original. It was released in 1967.. He is a creative genius. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent. One of the best singing voices.
When you said you didn't pay attention to the lyrics and still feeling the whole vibe is why you can be moved by a song without understanding the language. That's the magic of music.
Joh. Lennon and Bruce Springstein considered this to be one of the best songs ever recorded. The chorus gives the performance a fuller sound. A rock classic.
Mo, I’m so glad you were finally able to enjoy this masterpiece. That was The Danish National Orchestra and Chorus with Procol Harum. The 1967 original is very beautiful too. Has always been my favorite song.
Baby Girl; popular as they were in the 60s they were way ahead of their time and as such, were a bit of an acquired taste. I’d say they held up to the test of time. True masterpiece.
possibly the greatest rock song ever. It makes a visceral, immediate connection. Very emotional, moving. Saw them in New Zealand back in the 1970's...they didn't play this song for some reason. I was devastated. I'm okay now.
When this song first came out in 1967 the only place you could hear it was on a pirate radio station called Radio London. I was greatly influenced by the British pirate stations and started my own pirate station in 1977 in Northern California. I ran it for 10 years before I got caught and given a $15,000 fine in mid 1987. That's when I moved my pirate station to the internet. There was no software available then for running a radio station on the internet so I wrote my own and had it up and running September 1987. 34 years later I'm still running that pirate internet radio station.
Mo, your elegant facial expressions as you watch the videos and enjoy the music say as much as your words afterwards do! I love going to your channel not because of any extensive knowledge of the history of music but because of your genuine appreciation for and enjoyment of these classic songs. There is a purity in and a sincerity to your reactions that is lacking in so many other music reactors! Given your appreciation for great music I am going to give you some songs you are sure to enjoy reacting to! "Why" by Annie Lennox from 2000, "The Battle of Evermore" by Heart from 1995, "Old Man" from Neil Young in 1971, "Vincent" by Don McLean from 1972, "The Air That I Breathe" by The Hollies, "If" by Bread and "You Make Me So Very Happy" by Blood Sweat and Tears! Please stay genuine, as what you have here is very special!!
There is a question asked of us by the orchestra and especially asked by the lead singer, "can you trust me to romance you, to not take from you, but to fill your heart?" As the passion of the music increases, we are pressed to answer, "yes"! This can be very fearful moment.
This has to be the ultimate rendition of this song. I recall hearing it on its first release in 1967 and it was constantly on the airwaves, haunting, beautiful, Gary Brooker sounding exactly the same in1967 as he did in 2006. It was one of those occasions where pop music collided with classical music, in this case a Baroque Bach sounding chorale to great effect. The seemingly random words without any obvious meaning when set to music which brought the lyrics to life telling a story influenced John Lennon. He acknowledged this himself. 1967 saw Lennon's 'Strawberry Fields Forever' and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' from the Sgt. Pepper sessions. I seem to recall that 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' was voted Best British Pop Song of all time circa 1976. Beautiful video, beautifully presented and produced. Thank you so much.
Truly a Classic ... however, this version is truly the best ... 54 years after the original was made ... He still got it!!!! Love your reaction. God Bless.
That oboe creeping out from the wings and taking centre stage just brings chills! Ever since I started making mix tapes on an Elizabethan reel-to-reel tape recorder in 1964, this song has always been in the top 10 of my playlist.
This song was written in 1967 and is still as relevant today as it was then.Gary Brooker Co-wrote the song sang it and played Hammond organ. What a legend.
Do you see that many of our songs from the 60's and 70's lend themselves well with a classical orchestra. I'm so glad I grew up in those times. Denmark was very lucky that night.
Mo, I was in college when this came out and have enjoyed it ever since. It is a song that does bring out a lot of emotion. It is a true masterpiece! Thanks for the beautiful reaction!
Thank you for not interrupting this concert. This might have been to 10th or15th review of this concert I have watch tonight. You are the first one to not interrupt it with your own take on it. Yours at the channel then I will come back to thank you again.
I'm 69 years old and I consider myself lucky to have been able to see Procol Harum live several times over the decades since the early 70s. Each time they were fantastic. I never saw them live with an orchestra and choir, but nonetheless, they were always great.
I've seen quite a number of reactions on this, but yours was by far the most impressive one. Just so genuine and undisguised... It brought tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my forearms. All the verý best to you from Germany 🙂🤎
Many, many years ago, when I was a soldier, I was always away. Funny, I had a care package from my mother with fig newtons and a cassette...this was the song. How odd? I can not tell you how important these items were to us, and I imagine everyone before and after us. Support the troops my brothers and sisters. Love this song. All the best to you. Cheers.
The last 30 days for me have been really shitty for me, I've lost my best friend and my brother-in-law, then I come, home from a weekend festival which has been emotional for me. Then I see your reaction.and it lifted my spirit so much x
Step 1 - Orchestra prelude Step 2 - Gary Brooker and orchestra Step 3 - Gary Brooker + orchestra + band (Procol Harum) + choir PROCOL HARUM is a latin expression that means "beyond these things" ❤ RIP Gary Brooker 1945 - 2022
The orchestra is the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. They do an amazing rendition of the theme song of the old Clint Eastwood movie "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly". Well worth a look.
One of my favorites. I remember when it came out. Hi I'm Roger. You need to hear Linda Ronstadts song, Long Long Time. The Greatest female singer of all times. Please
Thanks so much for your reaction Mo, the lead singer and piano player Gary Brooker has not lost any of his emotive powerful vocal performance, and it is so so lovely seeing a lovely young girl like yourself getting so much from this exceptional performance. PS hats off to the Orchestra, I think the faces on all concerned were of total commitment and beautiful playing. PPS loved the drum fills, really made me think of the great Ringo Starr.. Keep it going Mo'.
Gary Brooker, the Procol Harum front man who sang one of the 1960s' most enduring hits, “A Whiter Shade of Pale,” has died. He was 76. R.I.P Gary Brooker.
You must find the version with the third and final chorus in it… When you hear the third chorus it will make the song all come together… But you never seem to hear them play the third chorus… I loved the fact that you did not talk all over the song while they played it like most of the people do… this is my very favorite all-time song, and it will be played at my funeral…best wishes…
I just Love you Baby Girl 😍.. You always have the Most Honest, Sincere, and Heartfelt Reactions..and if I may add.. you are such a Beautiful Woman 🤗!! Your Smile is infectious 😊!!
Thanks for sharing this , I've not heard this version of the song before OMG how beautiful was that absolutely stunning and like you I had to get myself back together emotionally . I going to listen to it again I think this is better that the original WOW still can't get over how beautiful that was . As always great to see you your like that song stunningly beautiful . Take care
I was at that concert, sitting in the third row in front of the stage. That was one of the greatest concert experiences of my life.
Much envy from here.

Det må virkelig have været en fantastisk oplevelse 😀

MEGA
This is one of the best live performance I ever heard. Fantastic.
Notice how humble Gary Brooker is- “Thank you for having us” Not full of himself though he could be, compared to the trash today passed off as music.
@MrZocor He said "thank you so much, thank you for having us"!!
@MrZocor When did he mention Denmark?
this is a masterpiece i remember this in the sixties and this is even better especially being in the open air magical voice and what about the orchestra as well as the ladies choir singing like angels respect and best wishes to the people in denmark from the uk xx
This sung is a Masterpiece sung by the late and great Gary Brooker Procol Harum RIP.
RIP Gary Brooker. Your music will always be remembered.
Just beautiful especially when the oboe comes in.
Can't. Ask for much more. A beautiful lady, reacting, to a beautiful song.
RIP lead singer Gary Brooker thanks for this great masterpiece!

I was 20 when this song was released and I have loved it ever since. But the recording of this concert brought tears to my eyes. It really did.
One of the best songs ever made
This version is a masterpiece...
Gary Brooker still sounding as good as he did in the sixties. Amazing song.
💯
It really is how he still do the high notes. Nor an easy song to sing in your 20s never mind 60s
Better actually.
Saw them of first tour in Boston 1968 ... in a place with folding chairs set up on a dance floor !!
and every tour of the US since - plus ...
nous savons tous que G. Brooker est un grand musicien! 15 albums magistral !
Absolutely flawless performance by all involved. Sooo well done
One of the most beautiful songs ever. The older he got, the deeper from his soul this song came.
The emotions are stirred cause its straight from Heaven🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👼you can see THE angels crying its so beautiful
One of my top 5 songs ever!
This 2006 concert is such a great exhibition of the band's enormous talent...
I did buy the DVD when it came out and watch it regularly. Superb.
When you said you didn't pay attention to the lyrics and still feeling the whole vibe is why you can be moved by a song without understanding the language. That's the magic of music.
That's right. The lyrics are abstract as well, conveying images rather than literal meaning. It can cross language barriers.
I have no words, but WoW !!!!!!!! Just a Beautiful Masterpiece !!!!!!!!
Joh. Lennon and Bruce Springstein considered this to be one of the best songs ever recorded. The chorus gives the performance a fuller sound. A rock classic.
Timeless Masterpiece!!! I was 15 when this song was "born" in 1967...and it will be a favorite of mine forever!!!🎵🎼🎶🎧🥁🎸🤘🤘🤘🤘💜💜💜
A timeless song that moves the Soul
Eye / Ear opener. I've heard this song 1000 times. Never a version like this. Mind blowing.
What a beautiful melody, I've been listening to this song for over 50 year and I still love it.
Mo, I’m so glad you were finally able to enjoy this masterpiece. That was The Danish National Orchestra and Chorus with Procol Harum. The 1967 original is very beautiful too. Has always been my favorite song.

Would love to see the Danish National Symphony Orchestra live. Tuva Simmensen & all that. 👌

This musical number was played on the church organ at our wedding in the church 25 years ago
This song gives me chills of emotion & I flashback to the 70's when times were simiplier.
This is one of my very favorite performances

The singer didn't just play the piano, he wrote the music. :-)
Off the scale on my talent meter.. :-)
Everyone wells up with this version. Ethereal and gorgeous
Beautiful song touched a woman with a beautiful soul and looks.
Beautiful song. Goes right into the heart.

Gary sings this song just like he did back in the late 60s. Watch the original video. Check out those clothes and haircut's.
