It’s a late Birthday presentator you , and for me a early present , my Birthday is 17 th of November . Love from Holland! 😘🇳🇱🎂
Very much enjoyed your reaction.
In My Life becomes more and more relevant as someone gets older. If I return to the High Street where I was raised in London then it is unrecognizable in places and I start to question whether this was the same place that I grew up on and at 67 years old then the reality becomes all to real that some people who you were very close to are no longer with us and also you witness one by one so many great and talented and famous people pass on and some of them are very much part of your journey in life.....
Happy belated birthday. From an another October baby!!!

Happy belated birthday! May you have a life of peace and happiness. ♥ My birthday was just last week. ☺
Nobody else comes close and it was all done in 7 years. I am 70 and it means as much to me now as ever.
This is why the Beatles are the greatest group ever. Timeless.

SANTANA THE GOAT
I was 8 years old when this album was released. I didn't get the impact of this song being so young, but now at 62 years old it moves me to tears. It is amazing how music can move people.
You and I are the same age. And the same thing happens to me. My daughter and I danced together to "In My Life" at her wedding fifteen years ago.
I bought Sgt Pepper when it was released on CD, June 1, 1987. While I wasn’t 8 years old, at 22 I was still too young to really get the impact of the lyrics. Now with three adult daughters, it’s hard to get through lol
And yet the Beatles were in their middle 20s when they produced such magic.
Man up; you disgrace our gender.
Im 62 too. I’m the youngest of 5. My sister is the eldest. She saw them in concert. Lucky her eh?
The Beatles tracks are music for life not just a quick hit and gone... Greatest band of all time
Let me tell you, when you reach a certain age, these songs really hit home.
Isn't that right?! I'll leave it for those who haven't experienced it yet to find out.
It is what makes their music eternal. The lyrics, music itself matures with you. Honestly, very few bands age like a fine wine. Many from this generation do.
I'm only 19 but every time I hear this song I cry a river. It's just so beautiful, the lyrics, the melody. I don't know why I cry but it just reaches deep in my soul
Yeah, tell me about it.
Still not a father, when hearing to this I'm on the side of the daughter. I know it will not be the same within 20 years haha
The Beatles are the greatest band in history.
My wife and i are the parents of a single child - a girl - and when she left home I listened to this song many times, crying my heart out - my heart will ache until i die.
You have my deep sympathy, Bruce - This song has always made me imagine being in that situation because in the late 60's, one of my teenage sisters got into dru ... (can't spell full words that may automatically cause my comment to be deleted by You Tube) and kept running off to London, aged 14 i guess, having to be brought back days later by police, only to run away again ... although I was only about 10, I was conscious of the worry she caused our parents and I think all of us were affected by this and other scary things she did. Butter wouldn't melt in her mouth after she luckily met a good bloke who straightened her head out a bit - She is kinda in denial of her past - understandably . Anyway - I can only hope your daughter is innocently unaware of the degree of pain her leaving caused. As kids or young adults, some of us are simply blissfully ignorant for decades, that our parents miss us. I didn;t realise how much my parents missed me when I moved towns to marry and only visited reluctantly - I wasn;t conscious of what it must be like for a parent to lose contact for any significant period of time until decades too late, when I was told my mum was crying behind the door after I'd gone home from one of my relatively short and rare visits. It's only NOW hitting home how painful it must be to be parted from children especially, as various examples of this keep popping into my life ... sorry I'm being a bit vague because I've started explaining something I can;t really finish. ANYWAY - SUFFICE IT TO SAY, I have a lot of sympathy. My friend has a tiny 3 year old who I adore like she was my own and I now see everything through the lens of how much I would miss her if we lost contact for any reason - It's a strange bond, even though I'm not even related. sorry, I'm blabbing on. I wish I had something helpful to say other than I'm so sorry for you and your wife.
The Beatles r a ace but when folk said that the pixies were hi or women on the Internet well kill death etc
@@stephenbrough8132 Thank you very much for your report, sometimes we need to hear a little about other people’s experiences to open our own eyes a little, I never noticed or thought about the way that maybe my mother would feel if I left her, since she doesn't have many friends, my father died when I was 11, I think I'll try to bring more good experiences to us
@@MaverickGamerM Thank you for responding - It;s quite an old post so I had to jog my memory a little.
The best band ever! Timeless classic!
Look at that smile. Priceless. Music is the universal language. And the Beatles united a lot of us folks. Unfortunately not all of us.
The lady who played the harp was a session player from one of London's professional orchestras. Apparently she came in and Paul and Mike Leander [producer] said 'we want it to sound like this', so she played just that. She was paid £19. :) . The backing singers are just John and Paul.
Sheila Bromberg. RIP.
"She's Leaving Home"...One of my favourite ever songs...Harmonies, clarity of delivery...and of course...an amazing story...just genius and beautiful x10
The lines....Daddy 'OUR babies gone....which then becomes...'How could she do this to me' where the mother becomes so 'internal, almost selfish...which shows the relationship she had with her daughter.....wow....just pure genius.
The mothers lack of awareness....expecting they know what their daughter needs and wants...and their ignorance of how she really feels...all about them and their pain. A lesson for any parent. Perfection personified.
AND...No needless 'middle Eight'!

Over 200 beautiful and meaningful songs - the greatest group the world has ever known. A special moment in time certainly. Timeless music and song writing by an amazingly talented group of the fab four. 😁
Top selling musicians of all time.
She's Leaving home always moved me. "A Day in the Life" is another great song from this album
In my life did the work here🥺.
A day in the life seems to be a very different Beatles song from the ones I’ve heard😁
@@MorenikejiTaiwo 😁
Back up singers are Paul up high and John down low. It was a John Paul and George (Martin) operation.
And to think they did not have White Priviledge.
In my life is the most moving song by the greatest band of all time. They will never be surpassed, NEVER.
EVER
We were so lucky to have them in our lives for five or six years.
The Beatles can never be surpassed, music has evolved away from beauty, melody, and tenderness.
Unheilbar an Beatlemania erkrankt.❤
So many Beatles songs use the contrast between John and Paul's voices so effectively. This is one of the best.
Excellent point!

I love your reactions 💕
The Beatles the greatest band of all time
She's Leaving Home didn't get a lot of airplay in the US when it came out. I've always loved In My Life. When it came out in 65, I was in high school. As the years go by it has become even more meaningful. Thank you for your beautiful reaction and the heartfelt comments Baby Girl.
Take care of yourself❤
Thank you so much🙏❤️
@@MorenikejiTaiwo You're welcome!❤
When the album came out, it was played over and over again on all radio stations in the US. It was heard a plenty!!!
@@newms69 It's a beautiful song, I just don't remember hearing it. I guess In My Life was more meaningful at that time. And resonates even more now.
part of it was there were no singles released off of the Sergeant Pepper Album, and this probably would have been a B side if on a 45 rpm at all. i think Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds would have bee a great single...except everyone believed that trash about it meaning LSD. but instead we got All You Need is Love around the same time for the single.
What can we say, these guys were brilliant.
Beautiful song! Whoever gave this a thumbs down must be tone deaf
lol
Definitely the negative people have no musicality and are probably stuck in one genre of music as well.
Or just have poor taste.
It helps me to believe those people have a small phone and very fat thumbs.
Or mad!
Beatles only get richer with age
The greatest music is honest
Two songs that help you understand why The Beatles are so loved. Two wonderful, emotional songs out of their hundreds of greats.
And that's why The Beatles are famous.
Imagine. McCartney was 19 when he wrote these lyrics.
The world is a better place, because the Beatles walked this earth.
John Lennon wrote the lyrics and the music
@@dermotohalloran6482 Not according to most sources. This is largely Paul's, which he wrote in 1967, not at 19. Lennon contributed the part he sang (the backing vocal) , which I think makes the song even better.
Also, the lyric is very un-Lennon like. 9 times out of ten, Paul wrote the narrative lyrics, whereas the bulk of John's lyrics were first person
I was talking about In My Life.
Paul wrote She’s Leaving Home in 1967, based on a newspaper article. He was about 25 then
@Paul Tuff She's Leaving Home was written by Paul, In My Life is John's
"She's leaving home" was mostly Paul with John joining in. Paul switching doing the back up part and John taking the lead as it is termed. "In my life" was all John on lead with Paul and George singing back up. They also added piano, an electric organ or harpsichord and cello driving that first melody. They covered or reinvented several styles of music genres in their short 7 years recording together. Amazing songs. They were all great on their own but they were amazing together! Keep going with the Beatles you will be amazed I hope. Fun seeing your reactions!
Paul sang the verses. John sang
the counterpoint.
1st song: Paul sings lead. John sings backup. 2nd song: John sings lead. Paul sings harmony.
Hello - thank you for keeping this classic pop music relavant to today's younger people that weren't around when The Beatles were releasing their albums. I'm grateful I grew up in this era, and I'm also thankful that many new fans are hearing what I've been listening to for 60-plus years. No doubt so much great music was released from 1960-1990 (or thereabouts) which I love, but The Beatles were truly the greatest! Continued blessings to you and your channel.
In She's leaving home -Paul sings the main part and John comes in and adds the vocal counteracting Paul in the chorus....it's a beautiful, bittersweet song. In My Life is John on lead vocal
quite simply the greatest band of all time................I don't need to say more
It must be hard for bands that came later knowing they can never compete.
The one and only Beatles.
Making me cry for more than 50 years :-) (She's LH)
The Beatles were no happy accident. They changed music, fashion and art. DESTINED. Supernaturally gifted some say...regardless, GOAT. Glad to be raised in Beatlemania. 😎
👏
These songs take me to heaven. Beatles the best of the universe !!!!!!!
I love your reactions and especially this one. The Beatles are musical gift from the heavens. I guarantee the more you listen to them, the more you will understand music even more than you do already… how it evolves and how it could potentially changes the world.
Me, I still cry when I listen to it. And I heard it when it first came out...
It is wonderful to see younger generations appreciating the musical creativity of my time ( was born in 1952)
This music can only be beneficial for them .
A truly great song about real life. Their outsider perspective is interesting. Not used much before the Beatles. Thanks for sharing. You're perfect for this medium.
"Something inside that was always denied for so many years" and "She's leaving home after living alone for so many years." Always thought those were the deepest lines from any Beatles song.
It's a song about a teenage runaway
Proof that Paul could write lyrics that were just as good as John's.
@@jp783 It's a song about a young woman eloping.
@@thadtheman3751No, it's not....it depends on what you mean by elopement. She was a runaway, not getting hitched
Great points - I recall my Mum singing this song to me as a 7 year old.
What abeautiful song...never eillbe forgotten...
There are no back-up singers, just the genius Beatles !
What are Beatles exclamation marks?
I think she meant Johns background singing
I think she means Paul's falsetto. Such high notes but definitely McCartney.
First again I have to say.
You are absolutely gorgeous!!!
The Beatles, the best band of all time...
The Beatles lyrics are so fantastic, they always leave pictures in your brain .they tell a story that you can see, in your thoughts.
Thanks for playing two of the greatest songs ever recorded by the greatest band that ever existed - period! There will never be a better group of musicians. Ever.
Watching you brought tears to my eyes. I remember the first times hearing She’s Leaving Home. So moving
……..and as I keep watching, I started to cry with you as you spoke of your family
You are absolutely beautiful. The Beatles are the greatest band of all time. This song is so touching. I was 6 years old when this album was released.
When a new Beatles album was released, I had it that day. When I heard this song, I had the same reaction as you. After all these years, I still just start singing it to myself. It is Masterful.
This song and Eleanor Rigby get me every time. At 74, I’ve been listening to the Beatles for a long time. I loved the pure innocence of her question about who the background singers were.
There are so, so many excellent Beatles songs - I hope you get to listen to all of them. Your reaction is always lovely to see :)
There is NO ONE like The Beatles!
This is why the Beatles are the greatest band of all time you listen to them and it brings you to a time when all was good and brings tears to your eyes long live this music
I haven't heard this song for a long time and almost forgotten it but it gave me goosebumps hearing it again
There's no bad Beatles music. There are some that aren't great, but the vast majority are excellent and really leave our jaws dropped. #Beatles4Ever
Enjoyed your reaction again. It's hard not to let emotions enter your heart with certain songs and the Beatles certainly did write some excellent lyrics.
🥺❤️
The "leaving home"-girl is real. Melanie Coe. She gained a certain degree of notoriety herself through this song and relationships with one or the other medium-sized celebrity. She also appeared on a TV show as a dancer in 1963 and won a small award, that was presented to her by Paul McCartney.
The video of that, on a teen music show, is on UA-cam.
Bless you, beautiful, sensitive lady .. peace x
The backup singers....John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr.
May you find all the love you want.
I was fifteen when I heard this for the first time and I was moved when I heard it. Now I am seventy and it breaks my heart despite that I have heard it so often. What a gem of a little song.. Immortal! When I'm Sixty-Four was also a big generation-hopper.
This was very sweet. Some people compare the Beatles harmonies to a gift from god. It sounds crazy until you listen.
It's crazy but in their harmonies you can hear every voice and personality come through
This song breaks my heart. There are no villains just sadness.😭
Hello my favourite baby girl! 😘 Two brilliant songs by one of the greatest (if not The Greatest) bands ever! A really good choice!!👏. In "She's leaving home" Paul is singing the verse and John takes over in the chorus (with Paul doing the background vocals). The other two members of the band, george and ringo, were not on this song. The instruments you hear are a small string orchestra, particularly a cello - (which you commented on, in your Chris cornell video as your new favourite). And also a harp is being played. I am not surprised at your reaction to "In my life" It always gives me such a poignant, heartfelt feeling of rememberance as well... thank you for sharing about your experiences and being so vulnerable... Another wonderful reaction! Huge hugs 🤗 🤗🤗 and much love 💕💞💕💞
Oh wow!👏🏼
The other two members were not on the song?!😮.Wow just wow!
My love for cello is definitely strong I’d say then😁.
Many many thanks🥰🥰🥰
Beautiful this song is
She's Leaving Home has got to be one of the most underrated songs that Lennon and McCartney ever composed, it has so much meaning for people òf a certain age, it is both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time
You're adorable, you are so sweet and such a dear heart. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about loved ones. Hugs!
I’ve never heard that first one, but “In My Life” is one of my favorites, and just one of the countless examples of why the Beatles are the greatest band EVER!!
"She's Leaving Home" is my favorite Beatles song, so thank you for reacting! It hits on so many levels. First is just the beautiful melody, it's so lovely and moving. But there is also some ironic humor in the song. The same event is seen as a tragedy by the parents, and a triumph by the daughter. The music evokes the melodramatic reaction of the parents ("How could she do this to me"), but the lyrics are about the daughter wanting to escape the suffocation of home, find her own place, get a job, and live her life. And the lyrics tell us it's a happy ending for her: "She is having fun".
Are you aware that this song is about incest? This is apparent from the lines "Meeting a man from the motor trade" (which is a euphemism for a 'back street abortion") and the husband's line "What did we do that was wrong? We didn't know it was wrong.) You really should do your research before commenting. :)
@@angharaddenby3389 Ah, "Motor Trade" is not or was not a term in the USA. Curious though, that does not explain why she is having fun.
@@angharaddenby3389 of the billions of comments I've read on the internet for the past 3 decades, yours stands out as the most ridiculous and untrue.👎
@@michaelmelling9333 Spot on

In essence the lyrics reflect the old saying - "The only constant in life is change!" As you age, like me at 75, they bring more and more memories and emotions, and yield more meaning!
Thanks for sharing your enjoyment of my favorite group. Happy Birthday!
This one of my favourite Beatles songs.
She’s Leaving Home:
Paul McCartney was the main singer also adding back up vocals for himself and in the "sheeeeeeeeeee" part
John Lennon did the almost spoken word part during the "sheeeeeee" part
A whole string arrangement was used (5 violins, 2 violas, and 3 cellos)
Sheila Bromberg played the beautiful harp section btw
Hope I'm helping a little bit with this :)
Great job, thx
But it's Lennon (double-tracked) singing the part of the parents.
@@finosuilleabhain7781 You right.
I've always took the Lennon parents lines as the main singing in that part and Paul's "sheeeee" as the backup vocals for that. That's why I said he did backup (idk why I said for himself tho) and Lennon with the spoken word.
@@flibsshostar1394 Ah, I get where you were coming from now. It sounds as great now as it did at the time, though I still wonder how it worked out with that man from the motor trade. She was having fun, but for how long?
@@chiefline7084 By a weird coincidence I'm meeting up with him for lunch tomorrrow. If I remember to ask I'll get back to you.
Classic Beatles 🖤
Such a beautiful song
It's ALL Beatles/vocals. Between Lennon/McCartney/Harrison, they contributed nearly 400 amazing pieces of music. Unreal. No one, NO ONE, will ever duplicate the importance and musical contributions of the Beatles.
" I've just seen a face I can't forget ", and that's Yours. You have the most beautiful smile. Thank You for making my day brighter
In the chorus Paul sings: She.... is leaving..... home. John sings the part of the parents asking "what did we do that was wrong?" etc
When the melody takesover, I can see heaven coming out of your eyes
You can hear John’s voice alternating with Paul’s,and singing, bye, bye. It’s such a beautiful song.
A brilliant song a brilliant album!! The Beatles!! Absolutely brilliant!! Check out a day in the life from the same album
Two of the best early Beatles songs which does not mean they are inferior to later ones.
Hello, my beautiful favourite baby girl. How wonderful it was to see you react to both of these songs. Despite them being 55 years old, both songs are timeless and perfect examples of how music is truly an emotion, though we all feel that emotion differently.
She's Leaving Home is Paul McCartney's heartbreaking statement on how we can love so much that we hang on too tightly, not allowing those we love to feel like they can be themselves. Each verse describes a different part of the morning where the daughter leaves home, the shock, the tears, the sense of betrayal and the young woman's feeling of freedom at being able to make her own decisions. The line in the second verse "How could she do this to me?" shows the mother's inability to understand what her daughter needed as well as a selfish focus on her own anguished feeling of betrayal. The beauty of the melody and the instruments masks the pain and joy on opposite sides of the story. Each side of the story, the parents and their daughter, separated by that pain and freedom. We can only hope that, some day in their future, all will come together and find ways to mend their broken family hearts. Paul was only 25 when he wrote this, showing an incredibly mature outlook on family relationships.
In My Life was written by John Lennon and, like She's leaving Home, displays an amazingly mature look at life, death and love. John experienced two major traumas when he was young - his mother's tragic death and the uncle who was helping to raise him having a fatal heart attack right in front of him. This song is one of John's earliest attempts to try to come to terms with what those losses did to him and the emotion in the song is one we can all feel. Seeing your eyes, my dear Morenikeji, describing your grandfather was like looking into the window of your soul. I turned 60 last week and I felt exactly what you were feeling as I can recall my mum and my 6 year old brother in the same way. Beautiful memories of people who made my life a better place because they shared it with me. But John takes the song from his, and our, pain and then turns it to the present and to the one who shares our deepest trust and loyalty in our love for them. What could have been a song about loss and darkness, gently turns on the warm light of our hearts. It makes the song an emotional ride that ends with us feeling happy, despite the pains of our past.
I should add, my friend, that if you listen to a song with your lovely sister by sharing your earphones, most songs from the 1960s were recorded in Mono as well as Stereo. Stereo will have the separation of sound that you experienced here. Mono will have all the sound in both ears so, if you include your sister, you will both hear everything by playing a Mono recording.
Take care and stay safe, my favourite baby girl. ☺♥
IF you pay attention to the lyrics, this song is actually about incest.
Thank you for a wonderful review.
When Paul sings what the wife says it really sounds like he’s crying
There are place's I remember all my life though some have changed!! Uff beautiful 🎵

She's Leaving Home opens with a harp and is accompanied with violins, violas and cellos. Along with In My Life it shows the remarkable growth of John Lennon and Paul McCartney as songwriters. Paul sings the verses and the elongated 'Sheeeeee' is leaving Home' parts while John sings the "We gave her most of our lives' and the 'Bye Bye' parts. Happy belated birthday Mo. Wow, it seems like only yesterday you celebrated your last one. I hope you had a wonderful day. I am sure your "Grandpa" is looking down with pride at what a wonderful young woman you have become.
