Airing My Grievances (Dartmoor Camping Scam and Joys of being a YouTuber) A WINTER HIKE & RANT!

- A snowy vista, a calming windless day, amazing skies, a riled up hiker!
You may have seen the relaxing ASMR version of this walk - well, I thought after all that I would share for you the original video that I had filmed whilst out for that 'relaxing' walk and had almost ditched completely.
Its basically 20 plus minutes of me having a moan about a few things (and even now its heavily edited), I discuss the joys and frustrations of being a UA-camr and The Dartmoor Wild Camping Scam mainly, which did me well for finally getting a few things straight in my head.

Love the channel, don’t give up Trev majority of us are behind you 👍
Well said my friend 👏
Will be gutted if it's the last year but if you are falling out of interest that's totally fine and I can always come back and re watch old videos. maybe if you do quit, maybe a little update video from time to time about whats going on with you? Cheers for the great content!
Ey up mate! That was the most interesting rant. Very relatable! After meeting and spending time with you at the Rab event I really enjoyed the honest human you are. At that point I’d not watched any of your videos but since have seen a good few and I have to say the time and effort you put in is immense.
I completely understand regarding the effort/reward imbalance and then you get the odd shitty negative comment that says ‘what you’re doing isn’t good enough’ yet they have choice in what to watch and are watching completely free. Jog on! I wish people understood the time, effort, money and stress related to making videos especially to the standard you do. I just got my tax return and, for UA-cam for the year, my net profit was -£300 (yes there is a lot of set up cost in cameras, drones, gear, editing etc) and people still have the audacity to message me saying ‘I can’t believe you’re asking for people to buy you a coffee’ 😂😂😂 when really I say ‘if you want to contribute…’. I do know my efforts will eventually pay off so I can make the effort/reward balanced but it is very much hard work!
You provide a positive service to many people that is informative and entertaining and without doubt you will have changed many peoples lives for the better. You don’t get 27k subs for been average! You’re a top bloke and because of it people want to hear what you say. Keep it going at your own pace and make videos that you want too.
I’ll be up for a camp anytime mate, with or without cameras.
Take it easy
Al
Cheers Al. Wise words. Definitely be up for a camp, bud! Take care mate!
I really enjoy your channel, you have an entertaining personality. I don’t think you re-visit sites etc is such a big deal as no two trips are ever the same. Just upload stuff when you feel like it, and take it easy, try and ignore the negative comments. Best for 2023
Personally this is my favourite wild camping and hiking channel. Such a great personality and I wish you all the best for 2023. I hope you do decide to keep the channel running but you should do whatever makes you happy. If you do decide to take a break or leave the channel, please post a quick video to let your subscribers know so we can send you some kind words and best wishes to yourself and your family.
Ignore the negative people and focus on whatever makes you happy 😊👍🏻
This one and bushman and blue are my favourite too.
Trev mate you're the reason we watch your channel even when you're having a moan, you're an honest down to earth bloke trying to juggle life like the rest of us, I'd be happy with a once a month video and I never get tired of Dartmoor. Personally I think you shouldn't worry too much about content, just do what you like doing, btw the new camcorder is doing a proper job. Cheers buddy.
Trev, don't pack it in. Paul Messner had a similar 'moment.' Now look at him, better than ever. You present well, you are down to earth and you use kit that normal folks can use. Be strong 💪
Good point, I recalling watching Paul's video. Perhaps Trev should speak to Paul?
Trev I’m not even a camper, I’m a cyclist but I love your content buddy. You have given me a good laugh over the years. I know the effort that goes into making a vlog and the money needed for the cameras etc but honestly I film for myself because I just love sharing my rides and showing off our beautiful Devon. I did have a break for about a year and come back because I really did miss everyone and felt a bit lonely. When I’m riding I feel like my subscribers are all riding with me. You love what you are doing and we all love watching you. Hopefully one day when I’m cycling up on Dartmoor I might even see you, and shout summit or nothing at you. 👍🏼🚴🏻♂️⛺️
Is this like a British cultural thing to hang out and slowly complain? I'm eight minutes in , and he said the same monetization and Patreon complaint said by every other serous youtuber. It takes one minute to say. The views are fine. But it's a thirty minute video and I'm now ten minutes in and he just started switching off that same topic. I'm not gonna subscribe. I can listen to your comaint a minute or two, but not ten.
I agree. Keep up the good work it is appreciated which I know does not pay the bills but there you go.
Trev - I'm a Patreon supporter of yours and it sounds like it's really getting to you. What struck me is the fact it's not fun any more - I think people enjoy watching you when you're enjoying yourself, rather than stressing out and thinking too much about new content / the algorithm? Just do what makes you happy? You might find that seeing you happy is enough for some people? :-)
If you stopped altogether tomorrow , you can still be proud of all the enjoyment and inspiration you've given to so many. Hats off for simply getting out there and showing what's possible.
Would be genuinely gutted if the channel was to cease. One of the best channels on you tube.
Always about yourself and the gear you genuinely like.
No needless reviews of equipment you wouldn't normally use and proof that anyone to hike and camp on nearly all budgets.
One of the reasons I'm in the middle of setting up my own channel.
Please keep going Trev!
Yours was the first wild camping video I ever watched. if it was not for you I would never have enjoyed the great outdoors the way I have. Never underestimate the impact you have had on people. There are far more important things in this life than algorithams Trev. Keep your chin up bro.
Dont listen to any criticism from any body. Let them go out and film the videos, edit them, post them, week in week out. Tell them to F--- Off.
I have followed you and Nath for the last few years and really enjoyed your channel, so from one happy subscriber I thank you for all your ongoing efforts and hope you continue, but will be happy for you if you dont.
Trev, I’ve watched your channel longer than I can remember. It’s the honesty I appreciate, we share your pain and joys. Treat it like a hobby and enjoy it buddy. If it’s too much leave it alone for a while, we will watch when you come back
Anything you put out is greatly appreciated, just do what feels right for you. Getting to see the outdoors even when I can’t get away is great. Yourself and others have motivated me to get out walking / camping again after a gap of many years. Whether you carry on or not, thank you for the work you’ve put in creating the videos for us to watch.👏👏👏
I’d really like to see you and nath in the Lake District again
Just do what you like and love - dont worry about the rest - if you need time off do it - we will still be here 👍
Trev, you can see from all the comments that you and your channel mean more than you realise to the many people who watch. You bring the beautiful Dartmoor to them and have inspired many more to get out and about onto the moors. You did that for me, and I will always be in your debt.
Paul Messner went through a similar thing mid last year, and the video he put out was one of his highest views, as his own struggles with his channel was aired and you could see his relief for sharing.
You can see people don’t want you to stop, and I for one don’t. And you’ve got your new Sony Camcorder to boot!
As I said on my comment the other day Trev, follow your joy!😊
If you need someone to bounce ideas off, or chat about your channel, or to vent over a walk on the moors or a beer, then just let me know, as I’m Tavistock based. Best wishes to you Trev, cheers Pete👍
Mate, as a new UA-camr I feel for you. My take on being a UA-camr is to post what I like, not what anyone else cares about. I've three daughters and one day i won't be here, so this channel then becomes a medium by which they can see how happy I was when i'm out on a hill in the snow.
When I first thought about jumping into UA-cam your channel was one of the first I came to. What I loved about the channel was your enthusiasm and love of hiking and wild camping. The channels i follow now are primarily those who really love what they do, and they also document their love of the outside via video.
I dislike the channel where it is plainly obvious that content is created purely for cash. I love the conversational style of passionate people who are sharing their passion. I love it that you speak the way you do, you make mistakes, you have a little swear but more importantly your personality shines through.
Don't give a shit about what others say, do what makes you happy. What did you love doing when you started Summit or Nothing. Connect, with the reasons why you started doing UA-cam. That's probably where the passion is. Hope that's helpful.
Well said
Don't give up Trev! You have been an absolute inspiration to me and the missus. If it wasn't for you and Nath, we would have never found our new passion for stomping across dartmoor. We have watched literally ALL of your videos since finding your channel just before Christmas. Best of luck for the future, please keep up the great work!
You'll always be one of my favourite youtubers regardless of what you put out. You are the reason I go wildcamping and why my life was turned around by getting me off my ass . 100% behind you Trev
Trev you are an inspiration to so many people, take a break by all means and recharge your batteries, rediscover your mojo etc etc but don’t give up.
Don't completely give it up Trev. Put your family and yourself first and just do what you love. If you have time to make videos do it and your real followers will be here to watch when you post! 👍 keep up the great work.
Dont go anywhere, Trev! People watch your channel because they like what YOU do, i have known you since we were five years old, and i can testify that you are just being yourself when you make your videos, dont quit, dont give up, take a break and come back with a fresh head and those pair of sl#gs Nath and Stan, your core subscribers will understand and wait and your channel will be even better than it is now.
As many folk have already written .. please don't stop making videos. Your channel is one of the best wild camping channels on UA-cam.
Every film you have made has provided great viewing.
Regards from Whitley Bay
Love this channel and you both are great Trev I will miss you if you go but you gotta do whats best for you, and never let a troll upset your day!
Beautiful video, camcorder did you proud. This was lovely to watch and didn’t matter that you didn’t camp. Part of how you feel is due to all the changes and pressures of home ownership along with not having been able to do Everest base camp. I’m still more than happy help out with logistics of coastal path walks save you having to keep doing circular walks. You are never criticised by those doing better than you.
Love the channel, I haven't been able to watch as much last year as I was so much busier myself outdoors. Whatever you film, I'm sure we'll all enjoy it. I'm sure you have more positive comments than negative, don't dwell on them.
These are the kinds of people we need to support, real open and honest in this world of fake personas.
Big fan of the content and am more than willing to keep paying over a break, complainers be damned.
Sorry to hear that you have been so stressed, Trev. Watching your adventures has have helped me in some tough times. You have also helped give me the confidence to start wild camping myself, and I am really grateful for that. Glad you’re happy with the new camera. Some of the shots in this video look really good!
My first introduction to Dartmoor & Wild camping was you & Nath mate, opened my eyes up to some other great Dartmoor UA-camrs & whole new possibilities,
Keep doing what you're doing👍
Don't want to lose you, Trev. Your truth is synced with most of us who wild camp, Keep giving us all the shit you can throw at us! :)
Must have found your channel back in September last year while planning my charity walk from Plymouth to land end. I’m brand new to wild/stealth camping and I must say watching your video have really gave me a lot of confidence. Has taken me back to when I did ten tors
There's more milage in nature and candid conversation than a algorithmically induced tarp set-up, good luck 👍
I'm often finding pages like yours don't pop up on my notifcations anymore - I've no idea why but it might be because I'm subscribed to a lot so I miss new stuff on many channels that used to pop up regular.
I don't blame you for feeling jaded. You've been doing this a long time and it cannot be easy carrying on the channel alone. The time I enjoyed your channel the most was when you two were together as it ws entertaining to see two good mates bouncing off each other and provided laughs.
Good luck with whatever you choose to do for your own future. 👍
Whatever you decide, thanks for the content and do what's best for you.
Seems like there are a lot of people on here who had exactly the same reaction as me ....I'm 54 and wanted something to do for decent exercise .....found your channel...loved it and " the rest is history" as they say .
Getting out and about whenever possible.
So thanks for that !
I have appreciated your channel for many years now. Tbh especially the coastal walks, as that is what I was searching for when I found your channel. But I also have really liked to get a view of Dartmoor and several UK mountains. I can understand that it can be stressful to keep a channel like this going. We will really miss it if you stop making new content. But that should be entirely up to you and your family. I loved to see the snow covered Dartmoor here. I was in Cornwall last week and I took a walk up to Trencrom Hill between Marazion and St. Ives. The hill and the surrounding fields were powdered with snow and it was very beautiful to see the South West of England with snow. Good luck whatever your desicion will be! All the best, Torunn 👍🏻😊
keep going bud if you enjoy camping keep the channel going simple i and others love this channel
Trev, just want to say thank you for introducing me to the moor and the benefits of being out. Appreciate your hard work.
You've done Dartmoor's tops but there is a lot to it around the edges and in the valleys. There are miles of footpaths both round the edges and even the rest of devon. Some of my favourite places on the moor are actually in the river valleys, woods and fields on or near the borders. You've also got Exmoor not that far away and Cornwall. I bet though, you could probably spend a year exploring footpaths just around near where you live. What can be quite nice is a walk that starts in a village somewhere and passes through fields and old lanes, out to the moor for a bit and back perhaps via another route to the village for a pasty and pint in the pub (or maybe a cream tea).
You need to enjoy what you are doing even though most of us just enjoy seeing you out and about wherever you happen to be. Maybe seeing a bit of different scenery for a change will re-ignite your enthusiasm. There is a lot more to Dartmoor than just the tors although it took me about 20 years to work that out!
Out of all the camping channels yours is the most real and down to earth. You call a spade a spade. That is your niche. I appreciate the commitment it takes to do a video a week. Especially as you have to carve that out of family time. As in life, getting out of a rut is hard. You seem like a pragmatic chap and I'm sure you'll figure it out. The negative people will always find things to complain about - so sod them. Hope you keep on making the content so I get my chuckles.
I remember finding your channel, you were hammock camping as a trial. I have watched many of your videos and it's your obvious enjoyment of what you were doing that made it enjoyable to watch, I hope you are able to find the spark that enabled you to make those funny enjoyable videos. I know a small audience won't generate the revenue for you but sometimes you can have a profound effect on someones life that you will never know, we all struggle sometimes but you have helped people in their times of struggle. Good luck Trev
I love what you do, honestly having you videos makes my life that bit better, my fitness was inspired by your time and effort making these videos. Who cares what people say and what numbers come back. IMO if you can make one persons life better then its all worth it, but make sure your happy is what is most important, there will always be people writing negative stuff, let my message drown there's out
Trev, I enjoy watching your videos. Don't be so hard on yourself. People like your videos because of who you are. You have a unique personality that makes your content so watchable and entertaining. Don't try to be a perfectionist, nobody wants that. Hope you can keep going and enjoy your life at the same time.
A good, honest video chat, Trevor. Good to hear your views on UA-cam, wild camping and life. I can’t imagine, having only tried a minute or 2 of video editing, how much effort is required to put together one such as yours. From a viewer’s point of view it is really appreciated as I love the framing of your shots and you really capture the beauty of the moors.
Wild camping really gets me angry as I can’t believe this landowner is going to take money from a short funded DNPA when they’ve already announced cuts and closure of the Princetown office. And yes, we can all go wild camping stealthily but I feel sad for those people it will really impact who can’t yomp miles into the moor but can only get 100m from their car. IMHO this landowner knew what they were doing & doesn’t know the difference between wild camping and fly camping, but that also it seems goes for the BBC who I heard also said “wild camping” and then showed the “invasion” and filth during the pandemic of dirty fly campers. The fight should go on and SO should your UA-cam channel 😊 All the best from t’other side o’moor 😊
Sounds like you’re going through a similar thing Paul Messner did. Burnout and boredom. Just do what you enjoy and don’t let UA-cam dictate how often you produce content. Hopefully you’ll work it out. Your channel got me through lockdown in the uk when I was there caring for my dad. Tony
People moan, "There are too many adverts in the video", swiftly followed by "Vodafone broadband......" made me laugh! Keep up the good work!
Love the channel Trev, inspiring people to get outside. Most of us are behind you. ♥️
Great balance Trev, well done! 👍🙂
And thanks for your honesty!
Please don't stop Trev, love your videos, but understand your frustration. Great footage, was lovely up there in the snow, we strayed from the path from Great Links to the Dunnagoats last week, very hard going (poles helped alot especially to haul yourself out of the snowdrifts 🤣). Your channel has inspired us in our walks (along with other folks). We are now more adventurous in our walks (safely of course) and are thinking about wild camping again after getting some kit 11 years ago and then life got in the way. So thank you for all the work that goes into your channel.
I know exactly what you mean about us UA-camrs creating white noise about the Dartmoor legal battle. I decided not to discuss it in too much depth because even some of those well-informed UA-camrs have been (unintentionally) spreading misinformation at times. It's great to hear someone talking about the trials and tribulations of being "a UA-camr". It all looks so easy from the outside! You clearly still have a solid and loyal following. Keep doing the stuff you want to do 👍 ATB, James.
Trev, keep it going if you can :) . Most of us bleedin' love your channel. I appreciate its hard to get out and with Patrons and the algorithm you feel pressure. I'm sorry you're feeling like that but we all appreciate you mate. Matt
Perhaps you need a collab with someone. Perhaps like Paul Messner. Might be fun.
It sounds like your motivation to go camping is now all about the video and the channel as opposed to going camping for the love of it and making a video. I really enjoy your videos. You have a unique and entertaining personality.
Views … I feel your pain 🤣 Whatever you decide to do, we’re looking forward to the rest of this year’s videos. Wishing you all the very best. Trev, you definitely get the medal for UA-cam’s most honest walking / hiking channel. Great to hear the views and information you shared today - much respect 🙏🙏
Most of your subscribers appreciate the content you provide, relaxing, informative and uplifting, cannot fathom why anyone would go to the trouble of complaining about your efforts, you gotta do what you gotta do, but make sure you continue at least for yourself
Firstly thanks for all your hard work with your vlogs , I do hope you can get your mojo back and I for one world be gutted if you stopped. So once again thank you very much
From a Princetown exile.
Trevor, I loved watching your footage. You make the landscape look inspiring.
I loved listening to your moan , your common sense approach to your UA-cam vs life issues was spot on.
Watching your older content, it was your love of the outdoors and enthusiasm to get other people to try it, showing kit and equipment to help others that shone through.
It seems to me that as your channel has grown, it has taken the love you have away. It has now become more like a business than a hobby.
I think you need to choose, get back to your roots, have fun, take us to new places, show us new kit...Good or bad.
Or concentrate on building a larger following, making money along the way, with the aim of doing it full time.....
I don't think you can do both.
Good luck for the future, whichever way you choose. We will follow..........
Your content is superb, honest and true to who you are.
All you need is to truly enjoy what you do. If certain elements are stressing you then drop them. And just do what you enjoy, it shouldn't be a chor but a joy. You've really helped me out with some ideas in the past and your channel has always kept my attention. In short do what's best for you. Be happy..
People always find something to moan about. I watched you all the time... even won some goodies off you! Then life happened. You are great because you've shown budget gear and given us a great laugh at times. I love your Dartmoor camps. It's a place I've never been. It's wonderful you've shown the beauty of it.
It's been a horrible few years. People are just a bit arsey at the moment. Lots of folks have lost their mojo. You have to do what's right for you and yours. I can't even imagine how much work goes into making videos!
I wild camp all over the place. I've never had any trouble. I'm sneaky and respectful of the landscape. I learned a lot from you when I was starting out. Still use that naturehike I won as my summer tent!
I'm off to corrour in March. Keep stomping! You've done amazing stuff.
Hey trev ! 1st & for most look after no 1 ( yourself) as u say where are the big hitters, Ray & bear probably kissing each other’s arse , I think u should plough all your efforts into your own ends & make as much little monetary gains as possible & let everyone kiss your arse!
U don’t owe anybody anything, what u have done 4 Dartmoor on your channel speaks 4 itself, u are in my opinion probably the best communicator/ wild camper on you tube! Keep the faith trev ! & keep going x
Trev me & my son love the channel. starting watching you and a couple of other wild campers during lockdown and I'm now committed to do my first wild camp with my son this spring... love the adventures and when things do go wrong your honest enough to show it! Keep the faith :)
Trev, I’m so glad that you made this video. It’s good to chat and get it all out of your system. I think that many UA-camrs have a real passion for their subject matter, but then UA-cam pile on the pressure. It must be hard, I certainly could not put the time and effort in as you and Nath have. However, can I just say, the wife and I (plus Bobby the Labrador) climbed Caer Caradoc (Church Stretton) last week. We are both in our mid fifties and have ongoing health problems. It was very hard work, but we got to the top and back down. But all the time we talked about your channel and how it has inspired us. We talked about how important this channel is to normal people who just want to enjoy the British countryside. Over our week in Shropshire we hiked up many of the biggest hills in the rain, mud and high winds, and at each summit we did our own version of your famous summit war cry. Although ours is ‘Buck it and follocks’! We really hope that you decide to carry on with the channel, but it is what is best for you that is important. We can always re-watch your content as we do with so many of our favourite channels that for many reasons fell by the wayside. Just take care of yourselves, we love your moans and rants, we love the swearing and silly jokes. Understand that you have touched many people out there (not like that) and inspired us to get off our arses and put on those walking boots. In a world that is all show and bollocks, it is important to have down to earth people with down to earth and very enjoyable content. Keep the faith you lovely moaning buggers!
Haha... I like your catchphrase better. Really appreciate that comment thanks. And so glad that we are helping others enjoy the outdoors. Congrats on your latest climb. Sounds awesome!
@@SummitOrNothing There's an idea Trev. A Shropshire challenge for you, Hope Bowdler Hill, Caer Caradoc and 'The Lawley'. Gentle giants that will have you blowing a bit on the ascent. ;)
Hi Trev. Carry on as long as you are enjoying it. We love watching your adventures but wouldn't want to to not enjoy doing them. I think your list of things you want to accomplish this year, (finishing the SWCP etc) is a great idea. If you do stop, please leave your videos up as we often go back and watch them. Cheese and ATB, John.
Personally I thought that was a very good and balanced view of the Wild Camping situation. I agree. I'm sure that you will find out what you want to do with the channel. Always enjoy your videos and you are a good ambassador for Dartmoor. Thanks Phill
Totally love your channel Trev. Thanks for being honest all the time. Don't stress over the complainers - they must know where the UA-cam door is if they don't like your content. No-one is forcing them to watch! There are loads of us who do love you channel! You are a very watchable guy and I love what you do. I agree on the wild camping upset. People camp on the SWCP, in Wales, in The Peak District etc - and it's not allowed. People will still do it but as you say all the shouting and the knee jerk reactions has not helped. Shame Nathan isn't about - you two are fun together but if he's busy then just do what you do....... you are great. Take a break if you need. Family and the house etc have to come first but just remember you are loved on UA-cam :-) Thank you for all the effort and time you give us. All the best for 2023.
Please stick with it Trev, best down to earth, honest and entertaining hiking channel on UA-cam,forget about the naysayers they'll always find something to moan about.
Don't always have to brave the weather. One of the most memorable videos I can think of was you trangia cooking in the garden and cleaning up your gear shelf. 👍
Everything looks bleak in January mate, and the whole court case thing has been a real downer not just because of the result but also because of the expectations other have on people to support one way or the other.
You're my favourite channel, well produced and down to earth content. I don't think it needs Nath. Just keep wandering where it pleases you no matter if you've filmed there before, nobody remembers old video locations anyway.
Spring will be along soon and things will look up.
Totally spot on with everything you said mate
I was attracted to your channel partly by the banter between you and Nath but also seeing Dartmoor. Being at the other end of England I have only been there 3 times and wild camp once about 7 years ago. Do not try to put out a video every week as you have to enjoy it and if you do not then we will not. You are entertaining. The important things in life are the family and spending time with them. Dartmoor will be there after the children go there own ways. If they want to take part in these videos then that is good. I would not have time to read all the comments you received and would certainly not read the nasty ones.
Mate, can't please everyone, keep doing your thing. Keep hoping to bump into you up on the moors. All the best for 2023.
They will never stop the real wild campers, you walk 5 miles into the moor, in the evening it gets dark, you put a tent up, and who is going to find you at night, ......nobody. Who in their right mind is going to walk around dartmoor in the pitch black !!!!.
Only the idiots who camp 400m from Haytor car park, camp by the side of the road, and leave all their shit all over the place are the ones causing the issues.
I started hiking during the pandemic, went to a couple of Campsites in Dartmoor. When I got back home I found your channel and learnt about wild camping and the whole 'leave no trace' ethic. I've now done several wild camps there and I feel like they've changed my life. So if you're down about the algorithm and the impact of your videos, I feel for you because they've made a huge difference in my life. Thanks Trev! Please keep going as long as you can.
You've got more subscribers than I could ever dream of getting. Really enjoy your work, so don't want you to quit. Saying that, it's not worth wasting your life making these vids if you're no longer enjoying it. Camping is never gonna make masses of cash on youtube in my view - you might get free gear etc which is pretty good though. Good luck in whatever you choose to do
Screw the complaints. Some people have got nothing better to do. Appreciate your videos and perspective on wildcamping. Keep up the good work! 👍😎
Always love your videos 😊 I hope a rant and reflection gets you feeling you’ve got your mojo back 😊keep up the work you bring much joy , loving the new camera 😊x
Darn it - I typed a massive comment and it's disappeared.............Right, in a nut shell (I'd actually typed the longest comment in history!) I'd be gutted if you stopped doing your channel. I don't understand the algorithm and plan never to understand it. I just do what I want to do and what I enjoy doing and I film it because I love it. I love filming, I love editing and I love the social side of it too - if people love it, brilliant, and if they don't then fair dos.
I think you need to get back to doing what you love for you, not for anyone else. We love you, your humour, your banter and your adventures, be they hikes or camps. I know its easy for me to say when I'm barely making any money, but strip it back to once a month and do what YOU want to do. I'm sure almost everyone would stick with you and for those that don't stuff 'em. The bigger your channel gets the more attention you're going to get from ar$e holes sadly.
As for the Dartmoor stuff I'm sick of talking about it for now lol but I'd be well up for joining forces for a charity hike to raise funds if you were up for it!
Always happy for a natter too if you wanted, take care Trev, lots of love, KGW x
You smell 🤣🤣🤣 Do you know how long I've scrolled through all these comments to find yours? Yeah... 2.45 minutes...❤️👍😂
@@BurtonOutdoors why do I smell?! 😂
@Karen’s Gone Wild! Just playground bants... don't get your MLP hair in a twist dudette 😂
@@BurtonOutdoors 😂🤣😂 oh I see I thought I’d typed something wrong! 😂🤣😂 I read it about five times 😬
@@ksgonewild 🤷♂️
It must be hard work coming up with new ideas all of the time, but I love what you do! I hope you keep it going.
Great footage btw. Looked amazing. 🙏🏻x
I hope you keep going with your channel Trev. You've made me laugh out loud so many times and I appreciate your honest, down to earth manner. Keep up the great work mate and long may Summit Or Nothing continue. 👍👏🏼
Lovely, contrast, detailed shots, Trev - new cam is great! Keep up the good work! 👍
Trev, Yours is my favourite channel by a long way. Well done for all the great videos. Great to hear your thinking on this video, & appreciate all the time, work it must take you. Rare to see someone so honest, down to earth & geniune with a great sense of humour.
Always very interesting, really well filmed & put together video. Thanks very much!
Come up to Scotland, walk the Moray Coastal Trail....and more. Your rant about the wild camping and not knowing the whole story and overblown reactions is spot on, it's social media in a nutshell. Enjoy the channel
Love your channel, i have followed on multiple accounts, even found the hike and cave you slept in , on the Brecon's. you gave me inspiration! please dont give up. Plus you just brought a new camera :)
Trev! I love your channel and you do an amazing job! Honestly though, you do what makes you happy :) If this channel has therefore ceased being a good thing for you, then that's your choice and don't feel guilty or sad about it. I can imagine it's a huge amount of work for little or no pay off. Thank you for sharing your adventures to date though. I have thoroughly enjoyed coming on your trips with you. Emma x
Crack on Trev, I love the channel and all its content. Really hope you will continue long into the future, you’re a trooper. Take care.
Been a long time fan of your channel, just keep being you and don't apologize for being you.
Mate, keep up the good work and just keep doing what you’re doing. Great channel, great content and very entertaining.
Been loving your channel for the last couple of years now, gave me the push to get out and about and would be a shame for it to end, but in saying that you need to do what's right for you.
You do you mate, put yourself and your family first..
You've done amazing and accomplished so much, inspired hundreds of people me included. You can only be proud of this journey wether it continues or not.
We both love your vids, happy to keep watching!
I feel your pain Trev, but please keep the channel going.
Like yourself, I try and get out as often as I can to create content, but life gets in the way. Its not a full time job for us. You might be fortunate enough that your channel raises enough money that you can use to create better content, but it doesn't do your Monday to Friday job, or pay for all the other things that being a responsible adult requires. Your content is great, well filmed and edited and I know how much time it takes just to get SOME content out let alone the high quality stuff that you publish!
With regard to the wild camping on Dartmoor ban...My thoughts sort've went the same as you. Wild camping is not explicitly allowed over most of the UK. I have been wild camping for many years and think I've only ever wild camped "legally" twice. So in all honesty, not a lot has changed!
BTW the footage from the new cam looks crisp. And now you've splashed out on it, you have to keep the channel going 😜
This is why I love watching you and your channel, you say it like it is and we’re both like-minded. Don’t cave into the pressures of the social machine. Do what you can when you can but only if you want to! I’ll DM you later 👍
We love any content you do Trev ❤️ ! Don’t be downhearted , just do what you can when you can for us . Please don’t stop . Also so enjoy your great choice of music . Spend many an evening catching up on ones we missed before we followed you . Ignore the moaners , they should try it eh !!!
Your channel was my first camping/hiking channel, you inspired me to have a go. Thank you for all you do, don't go you will be missed.
You explained your stresses well. I've always been in awe of everyone who has a channel. It's so tough to do the filming and I have experienced the time involved in producing videos. Your videos are uplifting and calming when I can't be out. I'm sure others will think the same. I understand why you might stop but I massively hope you don't. You'd be missed.
Watch all your content Trev as and when you post. You don't owe it to me or anyone else a film every week without fail and life does get busy. You do without doubt inspire people to get outdoors.
Focus on what makes you happy (and I hope that means you continue the channel ) ATB Pete .
My two pennies worth- I’m not a patron (don’t know how that works tbh) but I enjoy your videos, but if your not enjoying doing them then don’t do them. I enjoy bushcraft and have had a lot of people telling me to do videos etc so I recently tried to make 1. It’s very basic (no music, talking, fancy thumbnails etc) and it took best part of 3 hrs of filming/ playing to get a 15min video (which should be shorter but the editing did my bloody head in) I don’t know how long the editing took etc. but I now appreciate how much work you and others like you put into making your videos and for myself, I thank you 👍
As for the moaners- tell them to go and whistle.
I for 1 hope you carry on making the videos as seeing how you’ve progressed with things like the wild camping gives the rest of us hope that we’re not complete numpties (don’t take that as an insult as it isn’t meant to be)
Do what you enjoy doing and sod everyone else.
Hope this makes sense?
Cheers mate 🍻
Hi Trev, I'm glad your not giving up! I as many here appreciate and understand that life gets in the way of are hobby. Your channel is the main one that inspired me to get out there and do hiking and wild camping and i always enjoy your content.
When ever or where ever you go, we will follow, and what ever you do we will enjoy! As your a down to earth top bloke 👍
Loved the footage on this, beautifully captured. Its not all about the mountains.
You're a natural, watching your vids is like going for a walk/camp with a mate. Keep on just being you and remember people only pick holes in others to make their own sad little lives feel better.
Would live to see you and Donna on a camp. Be happy and have faith in yourself fella 👍🏻
"you put too many adverts in your videos..." BAM! Advert. I don't care though, you've given me plenty of entertainment over the years and I hope it continues! I bet you get way more positive comments than negative... keep up the good work Trev, don't listen to the haters!
