Nothing tells me "this is out of your price range" than a free tomahawk steak as a sign up bonus
I mean it's not really free, they probably just make less profit (but still profit) with the whole package, all of the other times you get railed :D
Earn more money
I had the same thought when purple mattress was give like $150 off first purchase lol
@@breathinginsilence it's a mattress, not a hat
@@NadiaSeesIt you sound like Joe right now
Missed the chance to call this a one-pan one-can meal
The image of the chicken standing upright just makes me laugh so hard for some reason 😂
Same! Reminds me of LittleBigPlanet letting you put a turkey on your head.
It looks like the turkey on Monica's head (and Joey's before her) on "Friends." I kept waiting for it to wear sunglasses!
Now all I can think of is Andy in the mirror saying "crispy skin by any means necessary" and that's really gonna get me through this life.
Voice over Andy has a great sense of sarcasm and afterthought towards the Chef Andy on camera.
"A conservative drizzle of light olive oil and a liberal sprinkling of kosher salt" ah yes, the centrist veggies :D
Great, now the vegetables are getting into politics
@j.corbygaming2693 don't worry. As long as they stay in the squishy middle there isn't any reason to panic.
+
Olive Oil: I don't want to help poor people.
Kosher Salt: Me neither.
@@Silverwind87 just so long as people know it's literally both parties who are part of the swindle.
I like how the chicken was standing up after cooking. In my mind she was a little soldier who gave a salute with her wing as she came out of the pan.
That pan sauce shot, once you added the butter actually made my mouth water. Great simple recipe Andrew!!
Babish took a blowtorch to the bird like "we can fix this in post." 😂
I’m always happy when a basics ep comes out cause it has the most banging intro
I was just thinking how much I dislike the intro lol
@@benjyskutch-freedman6839 -- Agreed. It lasts twice as long as it should, and the audio sounds chopped together. I don't think it's terrible, but it isn't pleasant, either.
This is the second time that Andrew has misidentified what are clearly oyster mushrooms as maitake mushrooms on this channel. He also didn't mention the Brussel sprouts at all.
Seconded, those are oyster shrooms. Maitake have pores, not gills.
you need to get in to contact with him about this
This recipe is like an early Christmas gift for me! This is gonna be the highlight of my Christmas menu! You nailed it!
This meal was my mom's favorite lazy meal to make when I was growing up. She always made it with Budweiser from a can! But I might try out your recipe since it looks delicious!
My mom still makes this. She uses Guinness, preferably skunked Guinness for some reason. She says it turns out better that way.
@@jeepjockey3217 thanks for the idea, I'll try it out next time I craving something new!
Thank you, Andy, for this video. My husband and I love watching your segments and seeing all the great dishes you make.
@-OFFICIALBABISH-most obvious scam
Roast chicken and vegetables is just the greatest simplest classic Dishes ever. It was Julia Childs favorite dish, and across history i think people from all walks of life would agree.
"but why stop at potatos when you can include all manner of root vegetables" - proceeds to add a bunch of things that aren't root vegetables
"served with a steaming hot jus" that's also not a jus
5:04 the word "mount" in "mount with two tablespoons of butter" is pronounced mon-TAY (monté, past participle of french monter, "to uplift", which is what happens to sauces when you add half a cup of butter to them). Note that even the automatic captions thought the VO said "melt" instead of "mount".
I'm not entirely sure, but don't cans have a thin layer of plastic inside? Wouldn't heating it up create some toxic gases or other substances that may be harmful? I've always used glass bottles instead and actually never even heard of this version.
You’re probably thinking regular soup or stew cans which do. Soda and beers I think are just plain aluminum
@@angrypredator2704 I have seen videos of people taking the thin layer of plastic from coca cola cans so I think most cans have them since it helps the aluminum not affect the flavor.
@@angrypredator2704 nah pretty much all cans have a layer of plastic, as another commenter said i’ve seen videos where they dissolve the aluminum in acid and just leave the plastic
It's food safe plastic, so it's _probably_ fine, but don't quote me on that one.
@@angrypredator2704 nah, literally everything canned or boxed (like broth) has a layer of plastic on the inside
I've watched this a couple of times to make sure, but those are definitely NOT Maitake (grifola frondosa/hen of the woods) mushrooms. They look like Blue Oyster mushrooms. Hens don't have gills.
Great idea with the vegetables!
the way the chicken looks in the oven is so funny for some reason she’s just like 💃🏽
Hey~! This is a classic in my household! Thanks for giving your version.
FYI a touch of baking powder mixed into the dry brine will make the skin super crispy. Note I says baking powder, not baking soda.
@-OFFICIALBABISH- If you're going to scam people, at least make it somewhat believable
Honestly a killer execution on a classic, Babs. Love this.
Is it my imagination or did he add Brussel sprouts in with the vegetables and completely forget to mention them?
Ah yes, that famous root vegetable, Brussels sprouts!
@@MrSplic3r why the sarcasm? He did add Brussel sproutes
@@jtorola around 2:10 Babish says, "We can include all manner of root vegetables." while slicing up Brussels sprouts
It was your imagination, nothing wrong with the root vegetables he used /s
@@SongbirdOfficial ...yeah, and Brussels sprouts aren't root vegetables. They're leaf vegetables, hence the confusion why they were shown while mentioning root vegetables. He mentions the potatoes while slicing some yukon gold potatoes, then mentions adding all manner of root vegetables like the yukon gold potatoes, but showing sprouts. Likely there were multiple takes that got spliced wrong in editing, but the confusion is from him adding two different things while saying to add the same thing twice.
Great show and recipe. I enjoyed making it at home.
Please do an episode on the Reuben Sandwich.
Thanks
I remembered making the Jamie Oliver version! That still gave me the giggles to this day!
Try it with Goya juice. Guava my favorite. Becomes tropical
This looks amazing Andy
Wow I feel like I could actually pull this off. That's a nice change in feeling
I am kinda confused. Usually cans like this have a thin plastic coat inside, so the drink doesn't get contaminated with the metal (for flavor). Is that not the case in the US? Because I can't imagine, that heating up that plastic while it's inside the chicken would be that healthy, or am I wrong? And even besides that plastic coating, what about the outside coloring?
I was thinking the same thing. Yes, all cans have this. It's because acidity of the food or drink will deteriorate the metal. Don't do this unless you just don't care about purposely ingesting microplastics.
Could this work with a soup can to avoid the plastic?
Thanks Babish!
Genius one cast iron skillet meal most properly perched indeed!
“Crispy skin, by any means necessary”? Great mantra for whole yardbird! Not for the bleary-eyed maw glaring back at me from the bathroom mirror though😳
This looks delicious!
Always opted for the spatchcock chicken method but this has intrigued me!
Very delicious and yummy
The perfect recipe to come out on my 21st birthday, thank babish (:
happy birthday _!_ :)
Happy Birthday!
Happy coming out
Hey, it’s my birthday too! Happy Birthday!
@@cam4636 No I did that a couple months ago lol
As a CNY man i love Flower power getting some World wide love.
Wow amazing recipe friend! Like a lot how you made it! See you 🦇
But they're $5 at Costco!
Mmm that looks delicious *drools*
British person said they were making this and a Jamaican said “I don’t see any bacon”
I Australia well at least my part of the country we call this launchpad chicken.
What types of beers go best with this dish?
please do meals from "The Menu" next!
Would this work with cider?
Drunken chicken is what we call it.
Yum
I'd love to see you do some ground chicken recipes including chicken patties/cakes. (like fish/crab cakes but chicken)
Love everything in the recipe! except flower power 😂 sad since i live near Ithaca
Imagine trying to convince a chicken that this is going to happen to it's body after the chicken dies.
Please do Big Smoke’s Order for your 10M subscriber special.
3:30 That phrase would make a great tee shirt!
Do you know Korean famous singer "Seung-ki Lee"?
Thank you Babish
bab the impaler
You should do Beef Stroganoff from Symphogear.
Not used to seeing a watch, kept looking at it.
would the lining inside the can be dangerous when heated? same with the label?
Yes, you should not roast anything with a plastic label on it.
Depends on the label material. Most aluminum can prints are apparently UV cured, and thus highly resistant to chemical damage. Aluminum cans themselves should be safe for heating up so long as you don't put any kind of acid in there.
sorry did you just say that brussel sprouts were a root vegetable
Or, if you're Jamaican, this is Bacon Chicken.
I don't know about cooking a chicken inside of a can that has both paint And plastic that isn't in any way described to be food safe at high temperatures.
THAT WAS FREAKING RIGHTEOUS!!!!
What is the music in the Babish videos?
Can they?
Love babish what a wonderful Comedian
❤️
Its probably late but how about the Plum Pudding from Mickey's Christmas Carol?

The paint and metal getting heated inside the bird gives me the ick
Yep people that understand chemistry cringe
ALMOST AT 10 MIL!!!!!! 9.94 MIL AS IM WRITING THIS
Those mushrooms looked more like oyster mushrooms than maitake to me?
I agree with you and also commented on this. He made the same mistake in a previous video, but I don't recall which one.
PS: Is it just me or is the "OFFICIAL BABISH" comment a bit "phishy"? I wouldn't send them any personal info without expecting to get ripped off.
This video was exactly the amount of time it took me to eat 12 boneless chicken wings. Great timing.
I've been a ButcherBox subscriber for YEARS! I want a free tomahawk steak! lol
I enjoyed butcher box, make sure if you keep it thou you SELECT what you want for the 2nd month that they send it. it wont be the same as the first selection. I got stuff I could use but items I wouldn't necessarily seek out
Regarding the Beercanchicken. At least in germany they warn about this because the colours and stuff can contaminate the chicken.
"Less than two hours" not counting the fact that I'd have had to start it at least three days ago.
Close to 10 mil, congrats!
"How Lin-Manuel Miranda Orders a Pizza" watch it... i challenge you
1:42: *Vietnam flashbacks to the Turturkeykey episode intensify*
I love flower power ithica brew co is a fun spot
Don't the cans have a plastic liner inside them, basically a can shaped bag? Is that safe to bake?
I'm not asking again, make the bowl of nails from the spongebob movie WITHOUT MILK
But what about the paint fumes from the can?!
Does any of the metal seep into the chicken? It looks amazing but the paper-thin metal can kinda scares me.
Yum😁
PLEASE MAKE THE TARTS FROM "TO ALL THE BOYS I'VE LOVED BEFORE” FOR VALENTINES DAY PLLSSSSS
So close to 10m subs!
Incredible
You can't fool me with those drumsticks in the thumbnail Andy
Those look like oyster mushrooms, not maitake.
I wonder if broccoli would work, I dont like artichokes.
Oh man, if you used the Mexican name for this chicken, this would be your last video.
Maybe I'll try it on New Year.
Curious minds want to know, what is the forbidden name?
I want to see you make turducken
Isn't there a plastic layer on the inside of the can?
How about on any day in December, you make either:
Gingy from Shrek franchise
Grandma Spankenheimer's Fruitcake from Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer movie
