It's one thing when Dr. Mike says in a video that he's 6'3, actually seeing him towering over Andrew is a whole different thing
I was shocked at the height difference.... I always imagined dr Mike on the shorter side lol
I didn’t know that Andrew and I were the same height until I saw their height difference and read your comment.
I would like to see Dr. Mike next to Attorney Tom
@@shartazokhan1043 is that Legal Eagle?
@VirgoGoddess90 nope, Attorney Tom has his own youtube channel and a rivalry with legal eagle.
Dr. Mike saying "this is just like wrapping a newborn" while folding the crunch wrap was so unintentionally hilarious to me.
What got me was Andrew’s face right after Mike said that-
My favorite snack.
he does that a fair bit on his own channel, especially when he doesn't get a joke
After watching Dr. Mike struggle with the poblano, now I want him on Hot Ones. It would be kind of hilarious!
I dont know i kinda like it better when doctor mike is alive
As a fellow spice wimp, I'll tell you that the reason that I chose never to become famous is entirely attributed to the fact that I never want to go on Hot Ones.
@@MrQuickLine you need to train. Start with more mild foods and work your way up to spicier foods.
He must think ketchup is spicy, so yes, I took would love to see him tortured 😊☺️
He might literally die.
"You're not like a chef, you ARE a chef." Babs is also so nice to his guests, I love it.
Honestly, this is how training works in a commercial kitchen. You just learn how to prepare the items on the menu, learn how to do the prep and clean up, then get on with getting on.
But wildly inaccurate for what a chef actually is. They're both home cooks.
@@tessat338 exactly, the people that do that are COOKS, NOT CHEFS.
it taked SERIOUS DEDICATION to be a chef, just "going through the motions" AINT IT CHIEF.
@@stapuft Serious dedication doesn't only come from going to culinary school. Plenty of chefs go through what is basically an apprenticeship at restaurants. It's just a matter of how much one is willing to put into the pursuit of the skills and what responsibilities that one is willing to take on.
@@tessat338 just going to school doesn't make you a chef either.
you have to basically BREATHE culinary arts, live for it, chefs are the FIRST ones in the restaurant, and the LAST ones to leave, they work 14-18 hour days, on the regular, just because they FEEL they have to, not because their boss forces them to.
chefs dont just go through the motions, they put their ALL into everything, ACTIVELY doing theings they have no confidence or skill in, JUST to build up said confidence and skill, so that IF they ever have to do it again, they can.
chefs LOVE what they do, no matter HOW MUCH it literally kills them...
both of them can and do make GREAT FOOD, but cooks, are just going through the motions, chefs, are actively trying, with every fiber of their being.
I worked the line at Taco Bell for four years and your Crunchwrap folding technique is better than a lot of my old co-workers. If I had one small criticism, it's put the sauce directly on the tostada and then top with the vegetables or toss the vegetables in the sauce. It reduces the chances of leakage.
I'd also recommend putting some weight on top of the Crunchwrap while grilling to emulate the clamshell grills they use at the restaurant (or use a panini press) to get a better seal. And for anyone that can't find the big tortillas, you can use the regular sized 10" ones and top with a small tortilla like you used for the toastadas before folding. It's a trick we used to use when we'd run out of 12" ones.
THANK YOU wonderful internet stranger!!🥰
Steak weights are magic and everyone should own one.
@Babish_Culinary_Universe...fake lol
Thank you for your sacrifice of sanity to bring us this knowledge.
A Binging with Babish and Dr. Mike collab isn’t something I knew I needed but I’m so grateful I received.
Of all the colabs I've ever seen, this is definitely one of them.
Didn't know he was that tall! Or maybe Andrew is short🤔?
Same here
as someone who is 7 months pregnant and constantly craving crunchwraps but doesn’t want to eat taco bell quality food, i will be doing this soon. maybe not wheat tortillas because they made me sick last time i ate them, but i will be taking the basic notes Babish has presented.
Advanced congratulations for when your baby joins the world!
There are low carb Tortilla options without being whooe grain!
Congrats, and best of luck for your crunchwrap journey!
update: she has decided that she wanted to be here a month early. we welcomed our baby girl 1/10/23 at 4:17pm. she’s currently too small for newborn clothes but too big for premie clothes so we’re sticking with gowns until she grows a little more. she has respiratory issues so there has to be at least one person awake at all times to make sure she doesn’t have any issues in the middle of the night and she has a upper lip tie and a tongue tie so she has problems nursing but she’s been a little trooper and is getting better by the day. ❤️
Nice
Medical grade kitchen precision got me laughing already.
My 1st thought was Hannibal. 😆
I can't help but notice Dr. Mike's "sterile hands" position as if he was wearing a gown and gloves 😂
😂😂😂
ahaha I noticed that as well. So funny
"Who said that?"
"Michael Scott"
"Oh"
This whole collab was great haha. And it makes me want to attempt my own crunchwraps in the near future
It was originally said by Wayne Gretzky
@joedoe7572 It's a joke from the office. Michael Scott wrote the quote on a whiteboard crediting Gretzky and then himself.
@@elessary2k1 I know. But it's an actual Gretzky quote. The Office just decided to use it
Appreciated the honesty about the chickpea patty being so-so, and Dr. Mike not being sure about the relative healthiness of cheeses :)
Oh man. I remember those Taco Bell training videos. I think the character’s name was Tracey and she would introduce herself every time you started a new one.
Can confirm. That was my first job back in 2010.
Healthy versions of fast food dishes, mixed with light humour and wholesomeness? I want this to be a series
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” being recognised as a Michael Scott quote because it was written on his whiteboard in the background of a single episode for about 8 seconds in frame is my new favourite thing
This is one of the few times that I had to pause and laugh MAO. Pure genius haha
"The Office" has created a huge following that many people forget it's actually a Wayne Gretzky quote!
@@thejuniorseas7683 this is what I came here to say!
I miss watching babish cook,I feel I don’t see him enough
Same. I barely watch the channel anymore. I like the anime food additions, the guy is fun, but I started watching this channel because of the humour and simplicity
Same, I wish Babish was in more episodes. The other people are nice, and I still watch some of them. But I’d watch them all if it was him
There's a reason he doesnt apear in videos that much now. He doesn't owe you anything. Stop being so entitled.
@@Osaaamaaa I’m not being entitled so stop tryna come at me like that. I was just saying what I felt and if you don’t like it then don’t say anything
@@dionnefycf799 your last line shows how entitled you are. You think you can comment anything without knowing but when someone criticizes you, you just go "don't say anything if you don't like it". Then why you say anything if you don't like it huh? First follow your advice then lecture people.
I love the transparency at the end with the chickpeas being a questionable addition to the Crunchwrap
It was so cute when Dr. Mike asked Andrew to cut his crunchwrap lol he was like a little kid all excited.
I would replace the chickpea hashbrown with a sweet potato hashbrown! Seasoned savory, not sweet. If you boiled the potatoes first, then smashed them, formed them into a patty, then air fried them - it would probably be perfectly fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside! I would probably make it like I'm making gnocchi so that the patty would hold it's shape. Season it with some sage, thyme, rosemary, garlic & onion. Now I want to make it lol
That’s a great idea!!!!
Gotta love when two of your favorite creators do a collaboration. Especially when it's this much fun.
Dr. Mike: Amazing hair - Patchy beard
Babish: No hair - Legendary Beard
That’s how it is between me and my older brother, he’s got a full head of hair and a patchy beard, I’m basically bald with a full beard. Seems that you are only allowed one or the other.
This was one of the more chaotic babish videos from the get-go, and I am 100% here for it
If you like chaotic, watch any and all of the Botched by Babish videos. Absolutely pure chaos at every moment and we still get a bangin meal at the end
I like that dr. Mike explains the difference between healthy and Whole Foods. And important separation for diet culture to me ☺️ happy healthy cooking ❤
That is the best "diet" advice ever; happy healthy cooking 💙
I like this because everyone thinks healthy is salads and blandness but you can absolutely have that cheese or that burger but ingredient’s and moderation of foods is where it’s at. Trust me the burger you make from a quality meat with quality ingredients will definitely outweigh the McDonalds value meal in flavor while also being healthier for you.
Price & time are still limiting factors, though.
@@CaptHayfever I would imagine even home cooks who can do this blindfolded will once in a while still go "Honestly, I want this Crunchwrap like right now instead of in 20 minutes."
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take - Wayne Gretzky - Michael Scott” - Babish
I think the chick pea "sausage' patty could work if you added more breakfast sausage seasoning than you would normally put in sausage, and maybe retained some moisture by cooking at a higher temperature for a shorter time.
the chickpea patty wasn’t attempting to be sausage…that’s what the chicken sausage was for. they mentioned several times that the chickpea patty was replacing a hash brown.
@@j-bq5nc it could have been healthy also with over baked crispy hash brown
Would love for Andy to make more 'Healthy Meals' episodes like the cauliflower and brown rice episodes
And non-dairy.
Do you watch the soy boys miniseries?
As a diabetic, it be awesome to see some diabetic friendly sweets recipes
I'm also diabetic and would love to see this!!
Yes!
Also ones that don't involve dates. They're as bad as sugar when it comes to sugar.
@@LadyMephistopheles no dried fruit or applesauce, sweetners aren't as bad as most people think
@@dudeguy657
Assuming you mean "artificial sweeteners" when you say "sweeteners", yes, they are as bad as people think.
@@notahotshot I really think different bodies equate to different levels of harm when it comes to artificial sweeteners. Maybe for a non-diabetic person it's better to avoid them, but if someone is diabetic they may be much safer than the alternative.
This was such an unexpected, yet hilarious collab! I love their dynamic
I wonder if the chickpeas would be less grainy if you simmered them for a while before making the patties? I've found it makes a significant difference if I do that when I make hummus.
falafel patties maybe?
Same here. Plus, if you let the cooking water boil off a bit, I bet you wouldn't even need the egg
@@buzkie314159 AMAZING IDEA
I didn’t realise Dr. Mike was so tall ?😂
Me too, I thought they would be tall and the same height
Yeah I think Andrew is about 5'11" but Mike is around 6'3".
The collab we didn’t know we wanted but we needed.
Honestly! Delightful but totally unexpected. :D
The cliché comment we never wanted, but still got anyway.
I love Dr. Mike, and having him say "There are knives" immediately broke me. I love UA-camr collabs lol.
“A fork in case I get hungry “ that’s a mood 😂
Healthier versions of things like this is great I’d love to see more of these!!
I've needed this. Crunchwraps are like the only thing i love at Taco Bell, but to see an amazing healthy version is greatly appreciated. Also a collab between two of my favorite youtubers.
I love this so much! Can’t wait to see what other healthy versions you make
It was really nice to see this! I never felt talked down to or judged, it was just 'hey here's a tasty thing that isn't actually that hard to make.' Nice.
Finding out two unrelated channels I love did a collab together is one of my favorite things!
I love how Dr. Mike has his hands up like he's being gowned when putting on the apron and then immediately ties it in the front like an isolation gown.
I never imagined these two being friends/collabing but now that they've done it I want more videos of them together
Loving this collab, it opens up for more health-food content, and we are able to know the effects of certain ingredients & alternatives, how they taste & mix from different tasting profiles & perspectives.
I just made these today. The taco seasoned meat alone has changed my cooking forever.
Thank you Babish!
Definitely a version of this that includes the Poblano is the Overstuffed Quesadillas from El Pollo Loco! There's a Poblano Chicken Quesadilla that we recently kind of eyeballed and made with ingredients we bought at a Mexican market, with the large tortillas and everything.
We didn't air-fry anything (you do not need to if you don't own one), only grilled, and used mozzarella. It was really delicious! And it tasted mostly like it, and probably without all the preservatives too. And even better yet, the $10-12 dollars we'd spend getting one, made us six!
I'm glad you're making these kinds of videos! It comes at an interesting time in my life where we are doing the same for the sake of my own health and it's such a satisfying thing to do and also see others do. Thank you!!
I'm subscribed to both doc mike and babish, and seeing them one after another in my notifications was hilarious
We don’t go to Taco Bell for health, we go there for convenience
I swear Dr. Mike is the cranberry juice of UA-camrs. Dude’s just everywhere. Babish, DeFranco, LegalEagle, boxing. Idk how the man has time to be a doctor 😂
He’s explained that he works one day a week at a clinic. I think he does mainly social media stuff

How about on any day in December, you make either:
Gingy from Shrek franchise
Grandma Spankenheimer's Fruitcake from Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer movie
Chef Doctor Mike sounds like a DJ name and now it's stuck in my head.
Babish knighting Dr. Mike with an apron and then Dr. Mike putting a fork in the pocket was not what I was expecting to see today
As healthy as a boat party in the height of Covid !
"cooking for yourself is healthy"
He says while I'm cooking up risotto with a heap of parm and rich homemade stock 😅
Remember kids, no food has an inherent virtue or sin and you are neither better or worse as a person for the food you eat! And if anyone tells you otherwise, they're trying to sell you something.
a duo i didn't know i nedded
I made these for my kids all time during soccer season! They loved them and super easy to prep many in advanced!
Whenever someone tries to make a tasty food healthy I die a little. Thanks, I hate life now
This is a mash-up I never knew I needed but this was great! hope to see more in the future!
For the chickpeas, what if you add a little lemon, garlic, spices and tahini and make kind of a hummus sauce? I actually think I’d like to make variations of these. Thanks!
hummus in breakfast food? nah
@@j-bq5nc Why not? I think only Americans eat bacon and eggs/cereal for breakfast. Polish have side salads, Asians eat ramen… why not hummus in the morning? Just a schmear?😂
I really enjoy making my own breakfast wraps and feeding my friends and family so thank you for widening that to crunchwraps. Something now I shall definitely be doing.
I’m loving this dynamic 😂
I wish this was a series. I loved it!
Was not prepared for how tall Dr. Mike is
Same. Idk why but it made me really uncomfortable. His legs look extra long, like he’s on stilts or something
Oh man, it's like the most ambitious wholesomeness goofyness crossover.
Never thought I would experience it
Andrew: “use the pocket however you’re feeling. I prefer pancake, but you do you.”
I always hated how little veggies Taco Bell put in the crunch wraps. When I make it I LOAD IT DOWN with veggies and it always turns out better. I’m gonna save this recipe cause I’m always wanting to aim healthier.
A collab I didn't know I needed, but very much appreciated
every single collab with doctor mike people are always in awe of him, I would be sweating buckets If I were andrew during the swiss cheese reaction.
Ah yes a healthier crunchwrap only made with whole ingredients ft a $600 blender. A true youtube DIY.
Just use a cheaper blender?
@@bendent4416 cheaper ones wont handle what he did with it.
@@DrBrangar tbf, he just did it to speed up making a béchamel, which can easy be done on the stove. It just requires whisking by hand
You don't need a $600 blender to make that exact cheese sauce. It just speeds up the process. But I get your point. "I can't replicate what you did, because I only have regular consumer kitchen equipment, and not a hundred thousand dollar studio kitchen."
