    You are so right! Not everything should be eaten raw. Certain food items work better in the body if slightly cooked or steamed.

    To everyone trying meal prep, I suggest this: plan your weekly menu. Cook/prepare your evening meal,,plus the extra portion(S) you want for the next day lunch. I have been doing it this way for about 40 years and it is cheaper and a lot healthier.

    When I was eating a more plant based diet, my mindset was that if its labelled vegan, or "accidentally" vegan i thought yay its healthy. Which i later found out the hard way, my body was like no way! So what your saying now is something I wish I heard like last year! Lol great video 💖

    loved video. I have a little struggle with too much pasta. Trying to space out meal plan evenly, ie: every 3 days. I am curious how much tofu , if any you use. I am starting to use it in alot of meals. I am on the fence on how safe it may be to eat on a regular basis. Cant wait to read all your info.

    surprisingly informative - you go girl! Regarding food dairy - I'd like to recommend cronometer, which is free, and also helps calculating how much energy you need based on height, weight and activity level (BMR) - most importantly it tells you about your consumption of vitamins and minerals. I've used it periodically for years. Regarding meal prep - stews and soups, hearty salads and starch based meals stay stay delicious for much longer than light salads or the like - and don't store prepped salads w. dressing in them :)

    The optimal manner to lose weight will be a plant based diet, but this one will require a regular bowel cleansing: So, take at least every second day early in the morning on an empty stomach 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil in order to prevent an intestinal blockage, for in the case that you will eat a lot of fruits or vegetables your large intestine will be really filled and you will remark this one occasionally unpleasant, this especially during the night.

      Just a heads up, in the US, a registered dietitian (RD or RDN certification) is the most qualified professional to give nutrition advice. RDs have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in nutrition science, complete 1200+ hours of supervised practice, and pass a national board examination. If you're looking to get or give nutrition advice, an RD or RDN is the certification you want to seek, not just a nutritionist.

    I just wanted to reach out to you. now that I am aware your a certifiable nutritionist. I started a food journal today 7/12/20 and I have have made a inventory list. If our panty, freezer and crisper a few weeks ago. I have been meal prepping for over a year and am very aware of how important that is. I was just wondering if there would be anything else that could make my transition to partial vegan. I know you mentioned eating my whole food and grains, so that’s my question is.

    Just curious on your opinion on drinking fruit smoothies I've heard some vegan you-tubers say they feel it's a lot of sugar entering your blood stream too quickly and the fiber is lost from those fruits. Just wondering what you think about this. Should I not be drinking smoothies?

    • @CowboyLikeMegan
      @CowboyLikeMegan 6 років тому +10

      Emily M I'm obviously not Alyssa, but I actually feel my best when I have a smoothie for breakfast. I drink it slowly over about the span of 30 minute or an hour, so it should help make sure I'm not taking it in too quickly. I'd have to look into the issue of it losing fiber, but I have a feeling that's not completely the case, because when I'm on a smoothie kick I notice that my bowel movements come more often and are more regular.

      don't look for help here, the author of this video doesn't mention the obvious things and gives lots of secondary tips, which may be good but the foundation of how not to get *FAT* or lose *FAT* is missing.

    • @nezzylearns
      @nezzylearns 6 років тому +2

      athena energy Shine . If you want to lose weight I would recommend eating lots of leafy greens, carrots, celery, and peppers for seasoning and for protein small handful of walnuts and almonds, beans, and chickpeas. For fruit you can eat any just don't over do it. Avoid over consumption of smoothies, bread tortillas . Last try walking daily or look up a online workout to do in your home for 30 minutes a day

    • @Apollo440
      @Apollo440 6 років тому

      yes athena, and don't think about *fat* (as in oil which is 100%, avocado and nuts which are at least 60% fat). Just skip it like 99% of all vegan channels and consultants do. They need to live of something, so don't let their families starve withouat a new model car and do everything, except thinking or doing anything about *fat* intake. Oh, and of course - avoid carbs and starches, which have been 90% of all thin peoples diets during the last thousands of years around the World. Why? Well because the consultants have to live of something, duh. And who would it be if not you? Cmon, don't make it hard.

      juiicii1 one tip about the salad prep if you want to try, keep the cut up ingredients separated, not mixed up I mean, and for the avocado, you can just cut the avocado in half and keep it with the skin on until you're ready to eat it then scoop it out. Otherwise, the salad wouldn't taste anything but yuk as you said! I agree!

      Jillian Sandrey
      Hi there. I just graduated from IIN a couple of months ago.
      And, as a vegan, I can tell you that it leaves much to be desired. 😒
      While they do strongly promote eating way more fruits and vegetables than in the SAD diet and have many lecturers give talks about the benefits of a plant-based diet....raw diet...etc.. They ALSO promote their concept of "bio-individuality"....that every individual person's dietary needs is different.
      So, one day you're watching a video about how you can heal your disease with a plant-based diet, and the next day be watching someone explain how awesome the paleo diet is and how our bodies are meant to run on meat. 😝
      Needless to say....most days I was just f*cking angry. Lol
      But I swear....I SCOURED the internet for a school that's sole curriculum was plant-based nutrition. The only one I could find was Dr. T Colin Campbell's program (which I totally loved and still might pursue just cuz) but, unfortunately...it does not give you that shiny certificate to hang on your wall stating that you are officially an "Integrative Nutrition Health Coach".
      I still wish I would have been able to find another option.
      I encourage everyone to do their research before committing their time and $$$. ❤

I have also looked into Dr. Campbell's program which is less expensive and (I have heard) highly informative. Question: Do you feel more in authority to give health advice now as compared to before you got your certificate?

      Karen Jordan you should look into turmeric! It's an amazing anti-inflammatory! Also, I would look into CBD products (can be eaten or used topically).I know so many people using the benefits of CBD it's a crazy strong and natural anti-inflammatory and more! It the non-psycho active part of a marijuana plant and you can buy it online! Here in the US there aren't any restriction and I would be surprised if England as any on them! You don't need a prescription or anything for that. Hope this helps you! Definitely recommend researching on your own!🌹🌸🌱

    What do you think about lower carb vegan

    • @Simplyquinoa
      @Simplyquinoa  5 років тому

      I think if that’s what works for your body then awesome!! I personally don’t eat a ton of grains bc I feel better that way, but it’s all about how you are as an individual 🤗 I’d say test things and see what works. Try lower carb for a few weeks and if that works then awesome! But if you feel tired and sluggish, then your body might need a higher carb diet. I can’t give nutritional advice without knowing your full history and background!

      Susan Spratling here are ton of vegan athletes you could look up and you can still eat a high protein diet all from plants!

    • @Simplyquinoa
      @Simplyquinoa  6 років тому

      +Susan Spratling I don't think that should be a concern at all! As long as he's getting adequate nutrients and macros, there shouldn't be any muscle loss. Fat loss tho, more probable!

      MsBellaFate this relates to what she started talking about at 7:02. Quantity of how much you're eating still matters even if everything you're eating is "healthy". Hopefully she will do a video expanding on it more :)

    What is the difference between vegan and vegetarian? A lot of things say vegetarian but there is cheese and terrible oils in it I am finding it hard find good food with no cheese/dairy , no meat, and no oils

    • @MathildeSyrup
      @MathildeSyrup 6 років тому +7

      MsCrystalclear23 vegetarian means no meat but can contain eggs, dairy or honey while vegan means no animal products at all bc it's more than a diet it's an ethical standpoint against animal exploitation.

    I'm new to your video...And I L💜've'n them especially this one 👍👌👏 But I'm a lady with a over active thyroid who is NOW boarder line over active/slight under due to medicine keeping me at a level so becoming a vegetarian/vegan/ plant based has really helped with my condition as we are what we eat! Which I do believe in that saying!....But my Biggest disappointment is fine hair! And being a Hairdresser I'm sad my crown & glory is not a good advert....And I'm hoping with a great plant based diet with taking supplements! Will help? I notice in this video your hair is still better than mine but you also have a fine head of hair? ....Do u feel your hair , nails ect....improve with your eating diet?......I look forward in more great videos 💛 Have a wonderful day from UK.

      The filling used to be made with lard back in the day. Nowadays it's a lot of sugar, chemicals and hydrogenated garbage. Oreos are TECHNICALLY vegan, but they are highly processed and those who eat them tend to be FAT, unhealthy vegans. Please avoid.

    • @akuma2892

      There is some debate on if Oreo's (from Nabisco) are 100% vegan as the company itself says they cannot guarantee. They do however make 100% organic/vegan oreo's (Newman O's). Though... I'd recommended sticking to a whole food plant based diet 99.9% of the time. Refined sugars will wreck you over time.

      astrozombie are you exercising doing HIIT cardio or weight lifting. I was the same way until I joined a gym and learned what to do. I still have the stubborn fat areas I need to lose but I definitely slimmed down and toned up in my legs and arms and my face has even slimmed down. But 1300 cal a day also is too low. That's what worked for me

    • @c0uc0u

      Janna Banigan Maybe you don't eat enough fiber, maybe you don't drink enough water. Water or liquids in general will help everything go down ;)

    • @ordinaryguy815
      @ordinaryguy815 6 років тому +2

      Janna Banigan In my experience hard to digest whole grains slow down my bowel movements. You have to drink alot of water to supplement those hard fibers, or your poop will become hard lol. Fruit that has high water content is best for digestion. I find white rice digest better than brown, and i find quick oats digest better than whole. Just my 2c

    Can someone explain what those "toxins" in our body are? Everybody keeps talking about it, and just like unnatural vegan on UA-cam said in one of her videos: nobody's explicitly saying what they are. So please, someone educate me. What toxins are they? Like chemically, and what harm do they do?

    • @moooobkityy
      @moooobkityy 6 років тому +2

      Theonlydays you can read them. They are on labels of products that you might be using everyday. Deodorant, shampoo, makeup, bodylotion, tooth paste, (air), plastic containers, food preservative, face creams, hair products....and sooooo much more.

    • @alicem7668
      @alicem7668 6 років тому +2

      Theonlydays your body produces toxins, it's basically the waste. External factors can also create toxins. For example, if you've been eating meat for a while, because it's something our bodies don't digest that well, a fair amount will line your intestine and start to rot creating toxins. The more fiber you eat, the less build up you'll have. Also any dead bacteria that your body has been fighting will be classified as toxins as well as dead cells, preservatives and artificial ingredients in food. Hope that helps

    • @WilliamGriffinCellsToCells
      @WilliamGriffinCellsToCells 6 років тому +2

      Theonlydays All chemicals are endocrine disruptors. You can Google that, too. Lots of info on them and they jack up your thyroid, hormones and cause a lot of women to be infertile. Not only that, fabric softener and plug-ins are highly carcinogenic and their toxic chemicals get absorbed into your skin and mess up hormone production and cause them to be out of balance. Are you depressed or angry a lot? People always want to claim they're bipolar but the real reason this is happening is because people have jacked up hormones. They need to detox, eat a plant based diet and remove all chemicals from the home and use essential oils to clean or moisturize skin with.
