hi kasper! hoping you might see this comment but as a fellow radiohead fan and music education student (at UBC in Canada!) are you selling your arrangement? i would LOVE to use this piece in the near future! and as a fellow music student who has participated in classes similar to this, i cannot even imagine how much work this piece would've taken to arrange (same goes for your colleagues arrangement of paranoid android!)!!!!! high five from Canada!
Hi! Thanks for your comment! Yes, It is possible to buy the arrangement. If you follow this link (paypal.me/kaspervandijkmusic/25) and add your email address as the comment in the PayPal transfer I will send it to you as soon as possible! I will add a PDF of the Full Score, Full Choir Score, PDF's for all separate instruments, a text file on notes for the arrangement and a Sibelius and an XML file so you could import it in your own software for editing. Thanks a lot for you enthusiasm and if you ever perform this piece and it will be recorded I would really love to see and hear it! Good luck with your studies! Cheers, Kasper van Dijk
I would say 25 euro's (About 36 Canadian Dollars) would be a fair price for the amount of work I put in, but I know life can be financially difficult for a student ;) so send me an email (kaspervandijkmuziek) if you can't afford to lose 25 euro's and we will figure something out!@@skylineto.mp3
Check out Nordpool Orchestra's "Radiohead - A Jazz Symphony". It Features some of their best Songs, arranged for Orchestra. Doesn't include the entirety of In Rainbows unfortunately, but it's still worth checking out.
I have fallen DEEP down the rabbit hole of Radiohead covers on youtube lately, and this is right up there with the best. Kudos to all involved. Why doesn't it have more views?!
Disagree, that was the low point of this amazing performance. They were just not drawn out and not present in the last few lines, could've made a huge impact if they did
Yeah, I reccomend everyone to watch this! And you all should defenitly check out other arrangements made and played by students of the same conservatory here: ua-cam.com/video/vDanF4X3-Mk/v-deo.html
Radiohead fan who has watched this 10 times and really likes it... but is now totally distracted by the tall, elegant lady on the extreme left who picks up a meditation bell at around 4:42. I am filled with questions! That's an instrument so why isn't she in the orchestra? Or why didn't they give the bell to one of the choir? Does she own it and refused to lend it to a chorister?... :-)
you can see the seated percussionist during the final minute hardly containing a smile and nodding along, like "this is sounding pretty good from where I'm seated :] "
Only 39k views.. Although it was uploaded two years ago, if anyone in this orchestra saw my comment, I would like to say: You are all awesome. And I hope I will be a part of something that is so beautifully intertwined with music and art as you are here.
This has some wild School of Rock sequel vibes to it: A hipster music nerd falls ass-backwards into an adjunct professor job at a college of music. He spends the entire semester teaching a group of gifted musicians how to play Radiohead songs so that he can fulfill his nerd fantasy of elevated Radiohead compositions, while taking rips off a bong in the drum closet. The drummer even looks like a 21 year old version of the kid from the first movie.
It's a rainy day and I'm feeling some kind melancholy, so naturally I went through every Radiohead arrangement on UA-cam and this is far and away the best.
oh my GOSH IH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!! this entire thing is incredible i have chills over all of my body i’m crying this is my favourite thing, also 2:12 gave me major chills
I dont understand how no one is standing at the end of that. The second that note had finished ringing I would have gladly been the only person in the room to shoot up to a standing ovation.
Thank you Mr. van Dijk. This arrangement causes tremendous waves of emotion through me as I listen. And though parts are sad or cause introspection, the ending crescendo of voices gives me hope and has helped me through my days. If I win the lottery I wish to gather together another orchestra and choir for you to guide so that I may sit and listen to it live and experience the wonder that the people in the audience must have felt that day.
There are many covers of Weird Fishes and most get a free win from covering one of the greatest songs of all time but this is the first I've seen that really elevates and complements the original with its own creativity and talent. Phenomenal job from all involved and massive kudos for your arrangement. I'm sure your students are very lucky to have a teacher like you.
OMG love that so much. Especially the tone of the singer wow depths. And the girl with the bell who does nothing then wait for it lol. Joking aside mind blowingly good!
I've just discovered this amazing arrangement, and in the last three days I think I've had it pretty much on a loop, it's so beautiful. Everyone involved works so well together, it's just glorious. Goosebumps, chills, tears ... An perfect example of the whole being greater than the sum of it's parts.
Oh my, the piano at 1min28. Superb. And then just before voice comes in again. Seriously impressed with this. So very well done. I'm sharing far and wide. Brilliant.

In the deepest ocean
The bottom of the sea
Your eyes

Follow where you lead
Your eyes
They turn me
Turn me on to phantoms (way out)

If they get the chance (way out)
And this is my chance (way out)
I get eaten by the worms
And weird fishes
Picked over by the worms
And weird fishes
Weird fishes
Weird fishes
I'll hit the bottom
Hit the bottom and escape
Escape
I'll hit the bottom
Hit the bottom and escape
Escape
