I love it when the algorithm introduces me to something enjoyable like this. It only took it 3.5 years, but definitely a better late than never. Very well done arrangement.
as a Muse fan for 10+ years, i must say - this is a truly amazing and epic rendition of an equally epic song. given how much Matt Bellamy loves classical and orchestral music, i really hope he's seen this or maybe gonna see it one day.
The way she looks at her musicians is so beautiful to see. You can see she has pride in every one of them. Excellent performance, beautifully led. ☮️💚🙏♾️
It's a rare thing when an orchestral version can keep the dynamics of a rock song. Big respect for the arrangement and execution! When the singer started, I literally had goosebumps. Congratulations to everyone involved!
This should be seen by BILLIONS of people. Perfection at its finest. Even my neighbours listen to this at 3am in the morning. Idk if they want to but they do xD
I can't decide if my favourite aspect of this performance is the performance itself or the looks of pride and joy in the musician's and conductor's faces as they are performing it. Very brave to take on a piece that is technical as it is, nevermind figuring out an arrangement that gets the balance right for an orchestra! Bravo!!
the galloping drumbeat is one of the most iconic parts of this song, im sad to hear it replaced with this tempo. Savagely interesting concept though, commendations for that much!
The algorithm has blessed me with this one. This is unironically one of the most epic things I've ever heard! Incredible arrangement, only wish the microphone hadn't swapped mid-recording
The conductor can't hide how fulfilled She is to be playing her arrengment in public, is also cute how nervous she look, literally gave me the chills! - BTW, it was an awesome performance...
I can't understand why UA-cam waited 3 years to show me this ! This i amazing ! I'm sure Bellamy himself would love it since how much it really renders the epic spirit of the original song. Congrats to all performers and arranger :)
If there would be a movie that would be using Knight of Cydonia in an orchestra version as an intro, I would have imagine it sounding like this. Especially with the choir part. This is amazing to pull it off!
that drummer is the definition of self-control. the amount of effort it must have taken him to go through this whole song without bursting into a drum solo every second is inconceivable.
This makes me miss playing instruments. I had a music teacher that this one reminds me of. She was always so encouraging and got really excited for us when we advanced and learned and nailed performances. You could see pride every time she directed us, from beginners to advanced she was the same with everyone. Everyone got constructive criticism, everyone for one on one time and everyone got praised for doing the right thing and doing their best. What a cool show!
I would be losing it whether on stage or in the crowd and would be dying to jump around when the solo hit. So much to appreciate in this composition and the performance, and it also adds additional layers of appreciation to the original recording and live performance, such as how just 3 people can so naturally produce a massive wall of sound with some much impressive complexity and emotion.
Ok, now I need a philharmonic orchestra version and Muse along with it! That was beautiful! I'm a big fan of the band! And I really like this song, it’s a true anthem! Please make more versions with Muse's songs! And I really hope Matt saw this! And I want a version of "Survival" from The 2 Law album!
I started listening to Muse because of Butterflies and Hurricanes and I was impressed with the way they used classical influences in their music. Knights of Cydonia is my absolute favorite song of theirs and I'm so happy you gave it an orchestral twist!
Absolutely the best orchestral version of a modern song I’ve ever heard. Watching this just wishing I could’ve been in that choir singing live with these amazing musicians, i can’t think of anything more thrilling. Beautifully arranged and a triumphant performance ❤🎉
Absolutely amazing. I think the conductor is absolutely enchanting! That expression, that facial expression. Great!!!! I would have liked such a conductor in the past. ❤❤❤
WoW - MAGNIFICENTLY COMPOSED! I especially loved the finale, with the skeleton sounding effects, holy shit, just hearing that in the background gave me goosbumps.
Amazing performance! I love seeing in the faces of the students how much fun they had with this project. Great work, you definitely deserved your bachelors degree for that one :D
It's going to take quite a while before I actually watch this video. Chances are I'll have slipped the Sennheisers on, closed my eyes and just felt this magnficant work a dozen times first. Bravo!
I'd love to see another group take a swing at this piece. Love this performance, great work on the arrangement, but I can only imagine if a professional orchestra got their hands on this.
Imagine this arrangement with the right mixing and a full professional orchestra, it would be amazing. The potential's so strong that it *already* sounds great even with just students
Pair the professional orchestra (mixing, instruments, volume, etc) with the visuals of a movie or video game (something to give an amazing, breathtaking visual, but different from the music video and unique to the created universe) and it would be another achievement for the masterpiece it already is
That's what I was thinking too. I love the arrangement, but you can definitely feel the amateur nature of it. Subtle criticisms, but they're definitely there.
UA-cam algorithm is on point once again! This is nothing short of sublime. Amazing arrangement, powerful performance! You've taken a great song and made it absolutely better. I hope more people see this, because the world NEEDS to know about it!
Outstanding. Normally classic covers for rock songs suck, and I honestly wasn't expecting much. But you managed to make the original sound as if it is a cover.
I admit I clicked with low expectations because I have this song in high regard. But fortunately i was wrong. It has its own character and instrumentation and voices are great. Great job and thank you!
I really wish there was a studio version of this. This is so damn good. The choppy sound quality in minute 1 to 2 takes a bit away from it but I've been listening to this in loop for hours now
Every time I listen to this I notice a little more density in the instrumentation. I'm a little bummed the mic switches...but I can't stop listening to this!
She looks so proud of them that's really cute
And she really should be! That was amazing!

2019: Orchestra assembled.
After hearing this version my only question how has muse not written a Bond Movie theme

There's no other way to say it, that guitarist is SUCH a guitarist
His playing wasn't clean and he completely messed up gallop dynamics.
I love the trumpet usage -- a tribute to Ennio Morricone, who wrote the music to Once Upon a Time In the West, which this song references
Beginning sounds for my like a trumpet from Chuck's Mangione Children of Sanchez. Nevertheless, quite a similar genre.
