How the late great Michael Clark Duncan never got an Academy Award, Emmy, and Bafta is beyond me. He killed the role of John Coffee. Rest easy, king. Gone too soon but never forgotten. 🙏🏾💯💐❤️✝️👏🏾🪦🫡

@@jamesgreenhow108 Nicholson's performance is so good it definitely draws some visceral reactions, but in the end, isn't he just a high ranking military hard ass that took things too far. It's clear he never intended for that man to be killed. Not quite the same level as not soaking the sponge imo.
Slavery was abolished in 1865 with the 13th and to the Constitution of the United States of America. This is set in 1935 racism and segregation were still prevalent.
Slavery was abolished in the North not long after the founding of the country. The slavery that we had was a remnant of the British Empire. It was also supported mostly by the British since they profited off it the most(buying cotton). The British had a massive influence on slavery in the USA. It was only during the Civil War that they stated to distance themselves from Southern slave owners and that was only later on in war. A lot of the South were British loyalists.
If this the only thing you've seen Mike in that means U haven't seen Armageddon. Michael Clarke Duncan, Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Liz Tyler, Billy Bob Thornton, & etc. BANGER!!!!
They actually used 15 mice, each trained to do a specific thing. The inmate Dale raped and murdered a woman. Then, set a fire to cover his crime, which resulted in the death of 5 other people, including 2 children.
This came up on my feed I guess because I have probably reacted to just about every reaction to this film that is on UA-cam!! I am enjoying your reaction very much!! Yes "technically" slavery was abolished with the passing of the 13th amendment of the US Constitution!! But the wording of that amendment left an Open door to use slavery as part of punishment for prisoners, men convicted of crimes!! The former slave states enacted insane laws, such as a black man could not look or speak to a white woman or something to that stupidity, and then proceeded to incarcerate thousands of black men!! This went on for quite some time, probably until the 1950s and 60s!! What you saw at the beginning of the film where "chain gangs" which were basically legal slaves because they were convicted of crimes!!! But they were BULLSHIT crimes!! It wasn't until the passing of substantial civil rights laws in the 1960s that the blatant racism began to slowly disappear or as we know today just went underground!! I say that because in the US racism is rearing its ugly head again!!! I was hoping that our country felt differently but it seems that they're okay with the way things are!! I, personally, am NOT okay with it!! I just can't understand why people can't tolerate each other, work with each other, understand each other, and be kind to each other!! Haven't we yet learned that HATE gets us nowhere!???
Stephen King did not participate in the writing of “Shutter Island” at all. He did write the original story of “The Shining” but did not like Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation and changes Kubrick made to the story.

@@wadumin Make sure to add Godfather Part 3. People who hate Part 3 don't realize that all three Godfather films are based upon Shakespeare's King Lear theme of moral and emotional maturity in leadership. Four words for you: Stephen King. You're WELCOME!
Racism aside, it's worth mentioning that the US justice system was very different in 1935. Without forensics or a fingerprint and DNA database, circumstantial evidence led to a lot of innocent people being incarcerated and even executed. In many cases, they got defense attorneys like Hammersmith who didn't try very hard. It might still happen, but I'd like to hope far less frequently.

It's hard to think of a movie villain more despised than Percy.

I’ve rarely loathed a character as much as I do Percy.
Honestly he is one of the very few people I’ve ever wanted to see die.
Hahah yes i absolutely agree Kurt ❤
