SONY A7S In 2024 : somewhere in NYC

I still use my A7s on a regular basis in 2024. Despite having newer camera's I still love filming with this bad boy.
I used the kitlens that came with the camera for the entire video.
I did not plan for this, hence I just decided to end it with a spec ad for ON running shoes haha!. (dont let them know your next move)
I'm not a pro but I just want to share the Joy of owning this bad boy in 2024.

Hey man great video. I am wondering, have you ever tried paring it with an atomos Ninja? I am thinking to do same, instead of shelling out 3k for the a7s iii

Thanks man!. I haven't tried doing so. However, to be honest I totally think the A7siii or ZVE1 is totally worth the upgrade if you are doing some pro work. I barely use my monitor, i find it cumbersome and intimidating when filming in public. Having the ability to record 10 bit 422 internally has so much value if you plan to use them as a pro. But for fun, 100% A7s.

I used this years ago with an Atomos Shogun and it was a very nice combination. I had a setup where I had the monitor/recorder hooked to my belt and had the camera tethered to it and it was pretty cool. Maybe you can find a Video Devices pic e5 and mess around with the workflow.

Its a wonderful camera. I just used the PP7. I shoot manual 24fps and just basically added some slow motion in post by using optical flow. Slowed it down to 60%. Sometimes it doesnt work, most of the time you can get away with it.
