This episode was littered with Jake-isms. Multim-iter was the highlight because he said it early and twice. Also nice socket work Kyle!
I think what amazes me the most is not the fact that you used F1 sounds, or that you as a BMW owner plan to use turning signals... But that during your whole mowing, on 1 car drove by.
My turn signals are so shocked at being used that one of them melted yesterday.

Dang I thought I was the only one that struggled with the 8-pin connectors. These terminals really are a nightmare to depin, so thanks for making a video to document the process!

Audi’s from the 1970’s had really weird wiring that caused phantom brake lights to flash! BMW’s have always been much more reliably wired!

@@100PercentJake Let's finally get on the Metric system and just ditch fractions! That was a .5 turn, or in Europe, a ,5 turn. I don't understand why they mix up the commas and the periods??
@@100PercentJake I think JR's TechAngle can measure those types of turns.
@@mitchellbarnow1709 In the States they (sometimes) use commas to separate thousand (e.g. 2,000,000,788) while period is reserved only for fractions (2,033,888.53).

At the exact moment you say so lets see that happen ,,fingers in the way and no clear shot as to exact position 😣😣 but im guessing it can be figured out , so was kinda useful as now know can be done.

You just need to start a new channel that is nothing but mowing set to F1 sounds. I’d watch that all day.
How many mil-limiters are those pins? Glad we didn't have any melting wires on our old E46.
it's been awhile since F1 sounded like that. Those were the days.
I had a similar problem in my old Renault Megane, I wonder if it is a failure of this type of system. I ended up soldering a new ground wire to the lamp holder and attaching it to the chassis on a nearby screw. It was also the left taillight. On my case before that it was a Christmas tree, every bulb in the bulb holder blinks in a diferent ratio wen I switch the blinker on. Cheap car, cheap repair.

Strange - on my 2003 these sockets are removed only by lifting the plastic spring tab (no need of additional tool).

I really don't understand how a ground wire can melt a plug.
I could see how an undersized ground wire could burn up. is that what is happening?
Yes, an undersized ground wire was overheating and overtime with moisture etc contacts get corroded this create more resistance, in turn more heat and eventually the connector melts /burns. So BMW issued a recall and all they needed to do is double the ground wire. Everyone with basic electrical skills can do it.
It's that tedious kind of work is why I do not work on cars. My hat off to you and all those that can. Will what you did prevent the wires from becoming a charcoal briquette again? And like everyone else wants to know, 'sup with the Datsun in the brush pile? Looks like a history video all on its own. 🤓🔥 Love the Brigs & Stratton on steroids. Watch 100% Jake go!!
Is the 8pin for the Adaptive brake lights that illuminate the top bulb brighter once you're heavier on the brakes? Or something else over the 6pin type?
I believe all facelift are 8pin
