My home town! Born and brought up in Sheringham in the days when children ran free and wild.
Lol
I visited this town a couple of years ago on my travels around England. It´s really a lovely place and the local people were extremely friendly. Unforgettable experience.
Thanks Tim, we literally (in fading light and light rain) just did Beeston Bump 😂 after seeing it here ... time capsule, 20:47 hrs, May 4th 2023, we woz 'ere 👍🏻✅
Makes me proud to be born a Shannock. I've lived here my whole life and I'm never planning on leaving. Btw we don't keep the Christmas lights up all year round. I'm one of the crazy buggers helping take them down soon 😂
Lol
Nice place sheringham love the 1940s weekend great atmosphere
Agree

The water draining into the sea comes from The Beck, a stream that flows through the Back Common.
We live in Sheringham. It’s a lovely place.
You are so lucky
My favourit resort on the Noth Norfolk Coast
Thanks for showing me all the places i visited as a child and early teens ,Sheringham Cromer yarmouth sea palling all of which i have watched on your
Absolute love this place, nice one again Tim👍👍👍
thanks H man
Its fabulous ..From the north east its tranqiil calming.
Our loco 76084 lives there.
I have very strong and cherished memories as a kid coming to sheringham at Christmas time to go on the Santa express on the stream trains
I visited Sheringham last Saturday as the same day I went to Cromer I loved the beach here as It was pebbles and had a long paddle in the sea and walked along the seafront looked around the town the shops there were wonderful and the sun was shining too the North sea was a wonderful dark blue color
Yes I could quite easily retire to Sheringham except that house prices are extortionate. I might be able to afford a caravan maybe. Love the North Norfolk Railway and steam trains there, they run through to Holt, another beautiful little town about five miles away👍😎
Holt is gorgeous, went there last year 👍
@@paulshorney3465 I agree thanks Paul
@@davidnm21 we've got a caravan at cherry tree parkdean site at great Yarmouth, love it. Get there whenever we can. Thoroughly recommend getting one! 👍
@@paulshorney3465 thanks yes i am thinking on those lines as I used to own a motorhome but sold it several years ago. I also used to own a Broads motor cruiser so I’m in two minds whether caravan or motorboat??
@@davidnm21 put it this way,our caravan doesn't float! Does that help? Lol
I remember that boating lake very well. My late Grandfather, who lived in Sheringham, made me a wooden model boat with an electric motor on it. Happy days!
wow
Used to live there many years ago
My parents own the Costa building and apartment above it and I like to go down there whenever I get a free weekend, I love it! Great video, Dave’s fish bar is by far the best! And the first bomb dropped in WW1 was in Sheringham, there is a plaque that tells you about it, it was from a zeppelin!
Oh nice!
Looks lovely there
Really entertaining and what a charming place thank you Tim!
Sheringham is definitely worth visiting, as it is a lovely town and as a bonus, does not seem to suffer the cold wind off the North Sea as much as Cromer.
It does get busy in the summer and the car parks soon fill up, so arriving by train is a good option- either by the Greater Anglia trains from Norwich via Cromer, or as we do, the North Norfolk Railway from Holt (car parking available at Holt Station), enjoying the scenic ride on the way.
Another attraction on the outskirts of Sheringham on the Cromer Road is the Priory Gardens. Pleasant walks around the gardens, dog friendly, accessible and some excellent food.
Lovely place. Sheringham Park is also a highlight for me
Got to live here for a year, when I was a tot.
A great tour.
Thank you.
Great walk Tim not been there for years.
Now thinking to return 👍
Planning to go this May! Looks so charming. 😊
Really missed your seaside walks 😊
Cheers Tim, great 👍🏻
you mean in norfolk because I have done loads recently lol
@@WalkWithMeTim definitely mean Norfolk Tim quire enjoyed the Blackpool tour , just nice to be back on the Norfolk coast 🙌👍🏻
I thought so ;-)
The boating lake is used quite often during the sheringham carnival for boat races and also during Sheringham beach life in the summer a church run kids event, where the children make and race boats out of milk cartons and other recycling. It’s lots of fun in this beautiful town!!
agree Imogen
Lot's of amazing views, including Chem Trails!!!
I am doing a day trip there in June. Really looking forward to it.
Enjoyed watching this video. Went to Sheringham earlier in the year and never knew about the two museums. Somewhere to visit next time.
Lovely video. Brought back memories, but also brought this lovely town up to date.
I have heard of Sherringham Tim,it looks a nice place. Thanks for your video.
That boating lake in Sherringham looks deep eneough to swim in,thabks for your Sherringham video Tim.
There’s a 10 year wait for a beach hut ,my family live there and have put their name down .I have lived in Norfolk nearly all my life and only recently spent time there since family moved to the town ,love it .
Norfolk Pie Man!!!!! The best 😛😛😛😛

Oh goodness, love them all but steak with the luscious gravy is ❤️

Always love a north Norfolk video
:-)
Really enjoyed that Tim thanks see you Sunday, stay safe and family too x
Thanks, you too!
Heaved my way up the Beeston Bump quite a few times just to admire the view, Tim. Sheringham is such a lovely coastal town, and great for a lull on the beach. Cheers! 😀👍
Lol its a bit of a bump but you get tiered walking up
@@WalkWithMeTim that you do... But good exercise all the same. 😅
Thanks again, that was lovely. Xx
you are welcome Juliet
An awesome part of the world - we stayed at the cliff front Woodhill Park - Caravan & Camping site mid-point between the two towns. Great seafront and beach walks plus steam railways - what's not to like ?
Amazing Walk Tim. 👍👍
Thanks
Interesting video used to go to Cromer quite a lot ,knew a few of the west family ,the coffee shop just up from the seafront used t9 be the best joke shop ,spent many a day having laugh from there the best but was though going to high school and finding out it was owned by my geography teacher
Wonderful Tim. We love Sheringham and it’s lovely to see it again. 😊 thanks
Glad you enjoyed it Bridgette
I've been visiting Sheringham every year for over 30 years and I never learned that about the clock tower! How wonderful. Nice to pretend I'm at the sunny seaside, rather than this dreary grey Autumn morning I've got today in the soggy North! :D Thank you for making this video.
you are welcome
Neither did I know the clock tower was for the waterworks. When my Dad was mayor he agreed to be locked in the clock tower for charity. It was a cold day and my Mum felt sorry for him, so she poked a couple of hot sausage rolls through the gate to keep him warm.@@WalkWithMeTim
Really love Sheringham Tim, thanks so much for the fab walk around. So good to hear all the interesting facts along the way :) x

Sheringham is beautiful Tim, super vlog as always, and even learnt a few things I didn't know about the place. Thanks for sharing Tim..🥰🥰👍
My pleasure!
Beaton bump has a big cross on it at Easter or it used to,love the video
Lived in Sheringham from 95 to 98, one of the most beautiful places on the north norfolk coast. On Wyndham street my friend owned a gorgeous dress shop there in the late 90s, who told me that Madonna herself popped in once... I never knew if she was telling the truth or just mistaken identity, but seeing as we were both massive fans of Madonna at the time, and she is my friend, I believe her lol
Oh, and Black Shuck was a dog!!!!! We still tell the kids about black shuck, though not to scare them, that would be mean =)
Great video Tim, not been to Sheringham for a good few years now, I more or less drive through it without thinking about it now, shame, its a little gem of a town!
Thanks Alexandera .. wow madonna
@@WalkWithMeTim She talks about it to this day still, apparently Guy Richie was nowhere to be seen lolx

Hi Tim. Loved your video if Sherringham today so relaxing after shipping. Wish I was there. Hope you went for a paddle.
Next time! bit to cold for me
I’ve just found your channel, subscribed and hit the 🛎 it’s lovely to watch simple but informative videos about different seaside towns in the uk.
I only came across it from watching your video on the Grand Hotel in Scarborough as I’ve stayed there twice and I guess it is what it is. It would of been absolutely fantastic in its day.
Would love to see more hotel/holiday accommodation videos if you make any.
Wow thanks Natalie
Thanks for the tour, its been 40 years since I've been to Sheringham. regards from New Zealand
hello New Zealand .. hope you subscribed too :-)
Just booked the Lobster for a week in September ! , cant wait !
The best time to walk Sheringham sea front is in a storm in late Autumn. Parked outside the Crown one night in the 80s and the waves were over the top of the car. Nice to see not much has changed although I miss Craskes the Butchers.
Anytime of year is great
Thank you, Tim. This video has given me an idea for somewhere to escape to this Jubilee Bank Holiday.
It looks charming.
You should!
Me and missus had weekend here and really enjoyed it. Weather was atrocious but was a lovely get away.
Glad you enjoyed it

I really loved this video Tim, thanks for your effort. I had never even heard of Sheringham, so this was something entirely new for me and it looks such a charming little town. It's certainly somewhere I'd love to visit. Great job Tim. Beeston Bump looks fabulous too, the views from up there look astonishing.

@@WalkWithMeTim it truly is one of the loveliest places . You do such a great job showing us such beauty. 👏🏻
How lovely. Fab beaches. Ive never been to Norfolk, but I enjoy getting out and about so Ive added Sheringham/Cromer to my list. I live near Liverpool so tend to visit Wales/Lakes /Yorkshire/North East.
thanks for watching it! you should come an visit
Lovely at anytime of year. Love it there really do. Great walks all around Norfolk. From Cley to Cromer. Surly the best costal sea front in the country.
agree
@@WalkWithMeTim thank for the like. I’ve been all over Norfolk. From the bird reserve at cley to the tank museum in weybourne. Even the beach at salt house where there are the 2 rusty old shells of WW2 British Covenanter tanks.
Sheringham seafront and town is really exotic in nature. It is a dream
land of exciting adventure for natural
beauty and an ideal place for building one's art, culture and aesthetic sense and of living with the much needed peace, harmony
and wild imagination.
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful
sight of scenic beauty !! ❤️❤️❤️😗!!

@@WalkWithMeTim Thanks a lot for your kind appreciation !! ❤️☺️
Lovely part of the country. Great fish and chips at Dave’s.
Yes they are!
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
I believe this is where dad's Army was filmed. Episode was the Kings train
It was. Most of the outdoor scenes were filmed in Thetford
That Tesco building reminds me of Birmingham Airports Terminal Building another beautiful building in my opinion.
yes you are right Shane
Great place visit in summer and great beaches ther
