My father and I always stay in Norfolk for Christmas and we seem to end up in Cromer on Christmas Eve for a long walk, a trip to the cinema and a meal. It looks beautiful in Summer. I live abroad, so your videos are comforting. I sometimes come back and rewatch. Love your channel.
Cor blimey. This takes me back. I'm only 21 but I used to go on holiday to Norfolk from Yorkshire every other year with my family when I was younger! Cromer, Sheringham, Weybourne. The whole coastline is fantastic. It will always have a special place in my heart.
My home town. Having lived at various other places in Cambridgeshire and Buckinghamshire, Cromer and by extent north Norfolk is by far my favourite. Beautiful beaches to walk the dog, cliff tops, national trust places to visit, nice pubs in area and sense of community. Don’t think I’ll ever move anywhere else (long term). Am away for a few months and longing to go back. Summer can be a little crazy there as lots of tourists but recommend to anyone. Great for families and dog owners
Born and bred in Norfolk, moved to Cromer about a year ago. Without a doubt the best place I’ve lived in Norfolk, incredible place to be. Shame the Banksy has been scratched away even more since your visit.
@@WalkWithMeTim surely it’s worth hundreds of thousands even in that state it’s in now, and a great tourist attraction. I walked for ages to find it and will do next time I return! Great vid by the way. Can’t wait to go back!
You certainly have got to give it to the Victorians Tim, they made everything beautiful & grand! What a gem of a video, thoroughly enjoyed the peek into The Hotel De Paris, I remember seeing that Hotel from the outside & wondering what it was like inside, truly magnificent & it's been there since 1799 & still looks in fine fettle! I think I've been in the Cafe at the end of Cromer Pier near the Theatre, I'd never seen the Theatre inside tho. Remember clearly watching the Sunset on that side of the Pier, in fact the pier hasn't changed at all since I was there over 20 years ago. I've never known anyone go walking under the Piers Tim. It's scary but fascinating as you say to see the way they were made, you can't really appreciate that from walking above. The drawing by Banksy was a puzzle, didn't know what that was about. Banksy did a picture in Camden, London as a tribute to Amy Winehouse too. I think I climbed down those stairs down to the Beach over 20 years ago when I was able! Really enjoyed this blog of Cromer felt like day ja viu having been there before!
Tim, we were in Cromer earlier this year. Absolutely love the place. Heartily recommend Mary Janes fish and chips. We had the haddock. Out of this world. We caught the End of the Pier Show on a rainy afternoon. Really entertaining and surprisingly professional. Great video. Thanks 👍
My parents retired to Sheringham in 80s and lived there for over 25 very happy years great place to visit North Norfolk with Seals at Blakeney and lots to see and do..
Great Video Tim, Yes, please do a critique of the Red Lion at Cromer. I had a great weekend there pre-covid. I had the best room there, about £135, but well worth it. I had the private balcony you mentioned, and the little turret was part of the massive bathroom which had a window seat in the turret with a view of the sea, a freestanding bath, and a shower big enough for two. The bedroom had a lounge area with a big TV and a smaller TV by the bed. The downstairs bar was very atmospheric, with a great crowd of locals and a massive choice of great ales (I belong to CAMRA). The bar and hotel were very dog-friendly, but I love that. Don't miss the great parish church, which could almost be a cathedral. In May this year I went to Potters at Hopton and I have to say (like you did in your review) it was pretty faultless. Happy New Year Tim, Stuart
Just a wonderful job Tim. It is so pretty there . The views are gorgeous. Always love a look at the piers everywhere you go. Just a beautiful place and you captured it Tim . Thanks for a really nice walk today. ☀️👏🏻

Thank you Tim, that's a really relaxing (for viewers, not you, with all those steps!) video 😃 A perfect potted glimpse of gorgeous Cromer 😍 Love this, and the others you have made of Cromer 💙 I must get back for a day trip one of these old days. Thanks again 😊
Infront of Cromer now lost to the sea was a town called Shipden. Once upon a time you could hear the towns church bell ringing out under water at low tide from the beach. Eventually it was blown up I believe due to being a danger to boats with it's close proximity to the surface. Cromer has a fascinating and rich (literally) history. Once a favourite holiday destination of Royalty. The No1 chippy in Cromer used to be on the council estate right out of town it was always award winning back in the day. Off there tomorrow will see if it still is 🤤. It will never be the same without Shrimp Davies. Another point of interest all the green looking domes on top of some of the buildings is actually copper when built they looked golden. There used to be a zoo with Elephants and tigers. The railway used to go from Wolverton the Royal station for Sandringham (still there the station I think) to Cromer and the Royal residence in Cromer. There's still a viaduct in Cromer from the old M&GN railway.
