And at that outrageous price, I would expect someone there 24/7 as well as the TVs to work. @@haicoh.1219 I went on a running tour there and it was a lovely place to be, if not a little bit pretentious. Sounds like Tim just didn't have the same vibes and felt like an outsider.
I have worked most of my life up Jetty cranes, never ever would I have thought there would have ever been a hotel room up one. What a great Idea , what a great way to make redundant machinery a great location , recycling at it`s best. Me wanna stay there. Mal from the UK.
Can’t believe you did a video on this, I was not long ago looking at it on Air b n B. The price is unreal. Something about it makes me feel uneasy. You are brave man!
Loved this video. Felt as if there. Thank you for finding the weirdest places to stay. Not tempted to stay at all! Claustrophobic in those lifts with the slight fear of getting locked in with no one around would put me off. Needs a refurbish and really needs to be perfect for that price.
This place is known for throwing raves and music festivals, hence the isolation. No, it is not safe. There is a small bar area where the spiral staircase ascends. This 'balcony' is not closed in and a man was killed after falling over the edge back in 2018 during one of their parties. Hearing the creeks of the crane, that clearly isn't upkept, I would not be surprised if it started to simply rust away, especially being next to the salt water. I'd also be concerned with the cleanliness factor, or lack thereof, and would have walked out and stayed somewhere else.🇦🇺
@@weeardguy Take a look at Google Maps and you will see that it is situated right next to the North Sea. The only pieces of land in between are the West Frisian Islands that cannot keep out all the salt from the North Sea. Therefore the water is most definitely salted. Why would you think that a crane that is sitting on a wharf would be 24kms inland?
Where do i begin Tim😮,im lost for words because ive never seen anything as ridiculous as this crane accommodation 🙄,..it doesn't make any sense, feels like sleeping in a op shop...im so very sorry about yr restaurant experience with that guy( a bully )..i hope u are home on safe flat ground by now..thanks for yr video ..😊
Yes, it's quirky, very different. Lighting is low, i agree. It's expensive for what you get, if you're comparing. Definitely un usual. It's too high for me, but great views if you like that. The lift is scary tim i agree. Yes, on the unusual but a no on the height from me, wonder how it feels in high winds !! Great that food is available locally. Thanks Tim 😊
Not my cup of tea but thank you for showing us this interesting Crane Hotel. The views are beautiful for sure. Glad you made it out safe. The so-called contraband on the nightstand had me giggling. My goodness, this wacky world!
See THIS is why i love yotube so much, we get to see these crazy Hotels reviewed by people. This is so crazy, it wasn't even a bad room either. The price was outrageous and even gun to my head you'd never get me in those elevators, but this one was so much fun! You definitely have to bring your food before tho cos going up and down more then once is simply crazy lol.
I didn’t realise how scared I was of heights until I’ve almost cried twice already and were only 6 mins in 😂 well done tim. That lift was actually terrifying!
Truly an incredible experience. I rather liked the quirkiness of the room with the fixtures and fittings. I could understand you not wishing to walk out to the end of the catwalk but would loved to have seen the views from there. Assuming the cost will cover two persons, it is somewhat expensive. As you mentioned, only three rooms and it has to make a profit. You are clearly paying for the very uniqueness of this. A great experience for you, and also for us being able to do so thanks to you.
Yea, as predicted by me, Marie was freaked out by this one, both because she has a life long phobia of Cranes, and also cause that nasty guy threatened you physically, Tim, and we are both concerned when you find your potential safety at risk! You and family, Stay Very Well!
Well, Tim that was certainly different, but I couldn't have gone up there, hate heights, you're a brave one, nice to see something different, but at that price, far too much, but thanks for showing it to us, stay safe see you soon bye 🤗 x
We had an old crane like this in the 90's on the riverbank of the rhine in cologne when i was a child and we always climbed on it. the police often came to get us down there. 😁
oh Tim i loved the vlog but hated that place , what a weird dump ! an absolute horror show . The furry bed and condoms was absolutely minging . You are such a brave man ! I wouldn't have paid 30 quid lol
We went to a restaurant in amsterdam that was in an old weather station from the North sea that had been pulled to amsterdam by barge. Similar elevator scariness. It was windy but we took the stairs. They had a rooftop deck that was open in the summer. Fantastic views like that crane. Those unique experiences are unforgettable. Having said that I'd have nightmares staying in that crane.
Another great review, thanks for sharing the experience. For 1200 euro's I can eat like a king and drive around Italy with my motorcycle for 2 weeks, think it's a bit too much, but as you pointed out, the owner should see a return on investment and if you only have 3 rooms to rent out... Take care!
Barry is correct, quirkiness certainly makes this one very unique! Excited as always both by the Patreon preview and the big unveiled adventure here on UA-cam! As always, Great job, Tim!
I would tremble and cry thru my fear of heights to stay there! I love unique places. No thank you to the top level walkway though. My courage has limits.
That's a unique hotel! I've never heard a hotel crane before. The view up there is gorgeous and you can even witness both sunset and sunrise in one spot. Btw, that guy who attacked you must be crazy and drunk. Must be out of his mind. Crazy to know that they don't have any security to settle such mess
Jesus Christ! I live in the Netherlands when I was young (studying), so when i get back last year, I knew that the last thing to do in Amsterdam, is rented a car. So, I will never find this hotel that you show me ha!. I stay just a few metters from the Amsterdam Centraal Railway Station, in a one hotel at the Damrak, with a spectacular view, wonderful breakfast, close to everything just walking or using metro or train. and the three nigth that i stay there? cost me less than this rare hotel :). But is one incredible discover, indeed. Thank you for do that :)
There may be more hotels like this in the future but as it stands ,for the moment, you are without a doubt paying for the experience. It's a lot of money but I would be pushing myself out of my comfort zone so I would do it .I would only pray for a nice day and a beautiful sunset/sunrise to capture as I like photography. Having said that everything on offer should work.
I stayed a couple of times in City Camp which was a big campervan park five minutes walk from there. All closed down now. At the base of the crane hotel was an area where they held events like food festivals (every size of stroopwaffle). The free ferry into the city centre is nearby and slightly further on is the boat hotel (bit like a huge youth hostel in a boat). There was a bar nearby where I remember drinking beer and watching an Australian reggae band (this seemed like a very Amsterdam kind of thing to do). Looking forward to the video.

Wowsers the NYC grifities I remember as a child back in 85 still haunts me and this does it. Greetings from Texas!!!
i want to live there! imagine it painted all pink inside with cute decor , working from home looking out at the veiw everyday😊
Loved this video. Felt as if there. Thank you for finding the weirdest places to stay.
Not tempted to stay at all!
Claustrophobic in those lifts with the slight fear of getting locked in with no one around would put me off.
Needs a refurbish and really needs to be perfect for that price.
Agree. 👍🧡🤔
Is it really safe? Great views but SCARY. You are very brave - well done Tim!
It’s the Titan submarine of hotels
This place is known for throwing raves and music festivals, hence the isolation. No, it is not safe. There is a small bar area where the spiral staircase ascends. This 'balcony' is not closed in and a man was killed after falling over the edge back in 2018 during one of their parties. Hearing the creeks of the crane, that clearly isn't upkept, I would not be surprised if it started to simply rust away, especially being next to the salt water. I'd also be concerned with the cleanliness factor, or lack thereof, and would have walked out and stayed somewhere else.🇦🇺
@@krisushi1 Salt water? You must be kidding... it's 24 kilometers inland...
Creep out and not sanitary. And what if so mething happens, like you fall off the platform? No one and nothing around to know it!
This looks like Saw 11. Jigsaw is around somewhere.
That ‘hotel’ looks extremely creepy! What a horrid place! Dodgy area too.
16:45 I think the word you are looking for is, “it’s a dump” 😐
No way would I stay there , the area looks very dodgy, I would not of left the car there , glad you got out safe
At least, the toilet and shower were on the same floor. 😂
@@winnied87 No kidding.
Glad you safe Tim as nothing about that "Hotel" looked appealing or safe. It was like a scary escape room, no thank you!!
I didn’t realise how scared I was of heights until I’ve almost cried twice already and were only 6 mins in 😂 well done tim. That lift was actually terrifying!
I had to look away at times! 🫣
Wow. 😂😂😂😂😂
Couldn't agree more! thanks Barry
I actually love everything about this, except maybe that 2nd lift, not sure I could handle it :D EDIT: UNTIL YOUR DINNER EXPERIENCE!
Yea, as predicted by me, Marie was freaked out by this one, both because she has a life long phobia of Cranes, and also cause that nasty guy threatened you physically, Tim, and we are both concerned when you find your potential safety at risk! You and family, Stay Very Well!
I'm not sure fish and wild boar are strictly vegan food!
It is not vegan, it is avoiding bio industry, animals kept in horrible circumstances. Wild boar and wild fish live free.
Well, Tim that was certainly different, but I couldn't have gone up there, hate heights, you're a brave one, nice to see something different, but at that price, far too much, but thanks for showing it to us, stay safe see you soon bye 🤗 x
I'm feeling claustrophobic 😅
And super creepy.
Yes, that was the creepiest hotel I've ever seen!
We had an old crane like this in the 90's on the riverbank of the rhine in cologne when i was a child and we always climbed on it. the police often came to get us down there. 😁
Looks like a post apocalyptic videogame hotel with the most hated sidequests you can find.
Very different but a big fat NO from me 😂 those lifts scared the bejesus out of me 😱 Great vlog as always Tim 👍
oh Tim i loved the vlog but hated that place , what a weird dump ! an absolute horror show . The furry bed and condoms was absolutely minging . You are such a brave man ! I wouldn't have paid 30 quid lol
Absolutely loved the bathtub. I would want it all to myself! ❤😂😊
10:52 is my fav bit! Very humorous 😂
Omg you actually saw my comment! Thank you!
Come to gordie land tim
Everything about it looks horrendous
The title needs to change to"Getting robbed in Amsterdam" I died with that price!
Imagine being alone & hearing the lift come up 😣
You're brave to stay in this place👍
you should turn round and go back down those stairs.. so you did it correctly. Love how that place is just pure Amsterdam!
WHY did that guy want to attack you??? Crazy.
Could be for any reason. Some people don’t like English or maybe because Tim was blogging and this guy has something to hide. Not a place I’d go to…
Perhaps someone was a criminal and was being paranoid about being filmed? Maybe thought he was undercover police or something
@@littlemy1773 I don't think you'd go poking and harassing someone you think is an undercover cop, you'd be locking yourself up at that point.
@@JordanIdk who knows maybe he’d just consumed too much powder and was out for a fight . It can happen
OMG!
Very unusual accommodation the lifts would scare me and the hight wakidu ❤😂
I would tremble and cry thru my fear of heights to stay there! I love unique places. No thank you to the top level walkway though. My courage has limits.
That's a unique hotel! I've never heard a hotel crane before. The view up there is gorgeous and you can even witness both sunset and sunrise in one spot. Btw, that guy who attacked you must be crazy and drunk. Must be out of his mind. Crazy to know that they don't have any security to settle such mess
Hi Tim, that was way too expensive for me, but it was very quirky. The pictures and contraception made me laugh.
I love the quirkiness of everything, and the view was absolutely beautiful.
Thank you for do that :)
you can take the (free of charge) ferry from central station and then walk to this place. The ferry takes about 20 minutes, walking not more than 10.
Nice one Tim. Another adventure into something that most folks will never experience.
Or want to
Cannibal Royale 😂. Sounds like a Bond thriller
just BINGING on these reviews this week, so glad i found this channel !!
