I like the moment that Young Demona refused to harm Goliath and fighting to Future Demona. Though she get crazy and creepy, she still has maternal love after knowing Angela is her daughter. In fact, she knows her faults in her deep down, but she unwilling to admit it.
I loved this cartoon! I remember watching it first run as a kid. I thought this was by far one of the best shows of the time. I really wish they would bring it back. But I also would love to have the entire original series.

The dark future episode is my favorite too. The writers did a great job of at least name dropping nearly every Manhattan character. Even the police cheif is seen as a photograph. I think the only characters not mentioned were MacBeth and the jogger. Great breakdown of the show and episodes.
Future Tense is my favorite episode! I remember it had me shook as a little kid! I couldn't stop thinking about it for over a day! Years later, over 2 decades later, that episode still stuck with me to this day! It also made me start shipping Brooklyn with Demona ;)
Coldstone was voiced by the legendary Michael Dorn (Warf from star trek next generation), and in footnotes on the series the character was given the name Othello, as his lover was named Desdemona, both characters from Shakespeares play of the same name, Othello, though they never spoke the names in the show
I really like City of Stone as well, it's basically a key episode for Demona's character. She's not just a villain, but a tragic character who keeps making the same mistakes again and again despite the good intentions of others. Also, MacBeth is an awesome character and is so different from his Shakespeare counterpart. Fun Fact that's hinted later episode "Pendragon": Technically, MacBeth would be in line for the kingship of England, since King Henry, Queen Elizabeth I, and James I are his descendants, but King Arthur probably holds an equal claim.
I can hear the dulcet tones of Keith David as the end of the video showcases the opening theme song at its glorious crescendo. '"We are defenders of the night. We are GARGOYLES!" Chills, I tell you, Ser. Still gives me chills.
Demona is one of the best Disney villains, just like real main character! She is very complicated, poor and evil. I like her stories, before she turned into bad, she really loves Goliath and her clan, but she used the worst way to “help” them. Besides, her relationships with Goliath, Macbeth and Angela are very interesting to me, they makes her very complicated.
jimmy unfortunately Demona cannot recognize her part in her experiences and sometimes it’s just a tragedy like when she listens in on MacBeth and his advisor talk about betraying the gargoyles. If only she’d listened for a little longer she would have heard MacBeth chew Body out for suggesting this
Amazing job great scene choices and reference to many of voice actors... However I wished you made mention of Elisa's brother Derek being tricked and mutated to Talon against his will. That really made me feel for the character even if he grows into the role fast. It showed how hurtful and evil Xanatos could truly be when crossed. As he was toward Elisa Maza for her involvement in the beginning story line. Also the link between the weird sisters, Demona and Macbeth it made clear of how Demona became such a powerful enemy. She although blind by hatred seemed to be the perfect blend of knowledge is power and how even after high school many people remain in the same mindset.
You saw her use magic in the second part of the gathering temporarily defeat over on which Goliath uses to convince overall Oberon that Alex remain with his parents
the show was ahead of it's time. the way the characters develop throughout the series is impressive. i'll never forget puck's introduction. I just saw online that it has a rating of 100% on rotten tomatoes. Wow!
You might know John Rhys Davies from the epic miniseries Shogun. His depiction of Rodriguez is one of the best book to screen interpretations I have ever seen.
Your tripping.....the Avalon battle where they reawaken Kong Arthur was by far the best. Also, the second part of the oberon episode where he is trying to take the child needs to be on this list as well. It's your list but definitely not my top 10 at all.
In Chicago, I believe this aired on then called WPWR ch. 50 during Friday 3pm I think haha. Would set my VCR to record it since I got home from freshman year High school much later
This had Alumni from Stephen King's the Stand miniseries too. The voice actress from that plays Fox is from that miniseries. I always wondered what was Puck/Owen was doing when he was called by Demona with the mirror. When she calls Puck it seems like she always knew he and Owen were one and the same.

Here's a question I've had for a long time about the series. Figures like Odin, Fox (the Native American trickster deity,) Anansi and others have called themselves the "Children of Oberon." Does that mean to imply that he or Titania gave birth to all of them? If so, what does that make Borr (Odin's father in the original Edda.) Might I also add that Puck, to me, reminds me of Discord from MLP
@@sadlobster1 IIRC I read an interview with Greg Weismann where he explained that Oberon had decided he found the title of King to be too authoritarian, and so decided his subjects would be referred to as his Children to sort of turn him into a more fatherly sort of figure, at least in name? I don't know, it was something along those lines. If you search online, you might be able to find the article.
Oberon and Titania in folklore are basically gods You could argue they are the medieval depiction of nature and pagan deities of antiquity Their domain is pretty confusing since sometimes they are gods of nature and other times kings of everything magical

Sailor Moon Crystal remains me of Young Justice and Gargoyles because it's darker and more serious than the original, Crystal shares the same things that Young Justice and Gargoyles have like the strong deep storyline their strong romance, friendship and most importantly family.

My fave episodes didn’t make your top list. It’s the Demona/MacBeth/The Hunter backstory episodes. But Future Tense was also my top fave episode.

The ending of Vows was admitted as a mistake, and fixed with a new scene later on, yet the DVD release showed the old ending.

Vows actually has 2 endings. The clocktower one which was a mistake and, the castle one which was the correct ending
No mention of "City of Stone"? That is the best episode. 2nd is the one where Demona meets Angela.

No, its more of a title. Oberon is the lord of them all. Before he defeated his mother, Queen Mab, all of them were called "the Children of Mab"

Mutants are beings that were born with their genetic alterations. Mutates are normal people that were mutated later through some artificial means
