Did you guys grow up watching Gargoyles? Or maybe you discovered it later? Leave a comment and tell me you're favorite character or moment from the series!
The best character on the show was Absolutely Demona. She was so multilayered. She did evil things, and yet, it was obvious, that deep down, she was extremely lonely and hated herself at times. That made her sympathetic and part of me was always hoping that she might reform and find redemption.
It's incredibly fascinating that something that was planned to be such a massive part of Disney's brand in the mid-to-late 90s would crumble as quickly as it did. But man, you certainly can't say it didn't leave an impact of its own nonetheless. In fact, I feel the need to rewatch a bit of the show right now. One of your best, DeAngelo.
Dude....i would've loved to see those spinoffs....just to see the other cast get a chance to shine. Also, though it was a long time on a boat, I enjoyed the trips to Avalon! They're were some great stories to share!
I think this show would deserve a revival, if revivals were treated with any decency and respect. So many good memories with this show growing up, thank you for reviewing such a beautiful piece of nostalgia. Truly a gift to revisit ❤
A good show killed by executive meddling. Well at least now might get the respect it deserves. "Pending on wether the mouse decides to repeat history again." Hopefully they give it to the Duck-Tales 2017 people. They really did a good job respecting the franchise.
Stone by Day, Warriors by night! Gargoyles forever! Fantastic to see another worthy tribute for this show! I convinced my mom to make me a Brooklyn T-shirt! This is among my small hand drawn t-shirt collection! I always loved the trio and liked each of their fun personalities!
I love Gargoyles, would've been cool if there was a continuation of the show in the future someday. My favorite characters are Goliath,Hudson,The Trio, and Bronx.
Great coverage and I'm not just talking about Demona's( trust me I love her too!❤). The show invoked such great lore, characters, tackled racism and became beloved even after 25+ years!
Okay. I don't remember much about this show other than my mom LOVED it! Also I am so stealing the immortality unless we kill each other thing! That is so sick!!
As a kid this show was way over my head. I didn't understand much of the show, but I could tell that it was undeniably amazing, serious, and uncharacteristically deep for a cartoon. I loved watching it, even if I never understood what the hell was going on
gargoyles is genuinely just amazing, I remember how floored i was during the arc where they went to that weird time island lmao. also the first time I ever saw a native protagonist as a kid (I think its still the only native protag i know tbh??), which was like, revolutionary for me. i know it got a bit cheesy on the morality stuff but i miss when cartoons were honestly "racism and guns are bad" straight up vs the like alien metaphors or whatever of current cartoons. anyway i wanted to be goliath as a kid and sike i still do
I just wish that Disney would give creative control of Gargoyles to Marvel like they gave them "Big Hero 6". They would fit so well into the world of Marvel. They're based in New York, by the 3rd season they had to deal with same problems that Mutants like the X-Men had to deal with once people found out about their existence, and there are so many Easter eggs that tie into other Marvel properties like The Eye of Odin, The (Marvel) Illuminati, and that African story that Elisa's mother told about Anansi and the girl who was turned into a panther could've been a tale that's even known in Wakanda.
There's a comic book continuation written by Greg Weisman that's out now. It picks up after the first comic run, but the first issue fills the readers in on everything.
Also when looking up the actor who played Macbeth "John Rhyse Davies" don't confuse him for the Motor-Week guy "John Davis". Who coincidentally also has a similar name to the main star from Tenent hilariously enough.
Currently there's a Gargoyles comic being led by Weisman by Dynamite, and it picks up where the 2000s comic left off. Thailog is trying to kidnap Derek and Maggie's baby, the Dracon family are up to something, there's plenty I'm forgetting.
9:49 Yeah i like to think he has like a robe. Its safe to asume he does that as a disguise probably that he got used? Anyway it looks good on him! Edit: *Xanatos also reminds me of Lex Luthor*
Greg Weisman still believes that his creation deserves a come back; and Today's Disney it's getting very bold and daring. This is a good chance #KeepBingingGargoyles
I'm surprised you didn't mention the fact that Gargoyles was going to be represented in Kingdom Hearts at some point. In an alternate universe where it actually happened, we could've gotten plenty of TVA representation like SRMTHFG or Phineas & Ferb in Kingdom Hearts.
This show was pretty cool to me as a kid☺️✨🌸💖 really need to rewatch again tho and more so as an adult.😁 😅Also great video on this by the way^^and your puppet Avatar very cute.☺️🌺💕💗

You just show me what to wach now thanks (sry for the bad english)
Grew up watching a few episodes and then watched the entire series back in high-school. Got all the dvds too.
I grew up watching it lol

I did a bit^^i need to rewatch tho when I can😅
I agree with you on Xanatos he's one of my favorite cartoon villains. He's like the love child of Tony Stark and Lex Luthor.
Perfect bad guy

I miss this show so much. It's a massive favorite of mine.
Same here 😀

Get Greg weisman to come back...this is his baby after all.

I just got Disney + and I’ve been obsessed with this show 😍😍I can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on this show.
Disney's answer to Batman the Animated series.
Pretty good answer
I used to watch this show on a VHS tape my mom bought- I'd rewatch it over and over again.
A true gem in animation and storytelling
Gargoyles is my favorite TV series of all time (and I consider the ending to be the last episode of S2) and this was a lovely tribute
I love Gargoyles, would've been cool if there was a continuation of the show in the future someday.
My favorite characters are Goliath,Hudson,The Trio, and Bronx.
This needs to be rebooted
Definitely
@@HatsOffMedias And do a crossover with the now long gone ducktales

It was a super cool premise
I luuuuuurved this show sooooooo much.
Loved this show, demona n xanatos were my favs. Also the gargoyles ref in ducktales OMFG YES!
As a kid this show was way over my head. I didn't understand much of the show, but I could tell that it was undeniably amazing, serious, and uncharacteristically deep for a cartoon. I loved watching it, even if I never understood what the hell was going on
I think a Gargoyles cinematic universe is a great thing better than the MCU
Wait a minute did he say that Goliath had a daughter?
Jordan peele DID pitch a live action Gargoyles to Disney, but they rejected it.
That could be interesting

"Demona made me confused as a kid."
Yeah, same 😄
Also when looking up the actor who played Macbeth "John Rhyse Davies" don't confuse him for the Motor-Week guy "John Davis". Who coincidentally also has a similar name to the main star from Tenent hilariously enough.

"But regardless of it's _rocky_ history" I see what you did there
So glad I get to watch this as an adult, we couldn't afford Disney channel as a kid.
so much character development, for a cartoon at that time. it think it was ahead of it's time.
Gargoyles deserves a reboot/continuation & also a live action movie someday. #Gargoyles #KeepBingingGargoyles
11:22 A Demona fan of culture I see.
The dark horse of Disney that took a chance to do a serious show going against the norm. To this day people still talk about the gun episode.
With the current TNG/Voyager resurgence in Trek media and thus appearances in Picard and Lower Decks, Frakes IS Riker
OJ killed the gargoyles
If the claw fits
Gargoyles is one of the best action adventure shows of all time I believe it should have a sequel series or at least do a movie with Wiseman involved
9:49 Yeah i like to think he has like a robe. Its safe to asume he does that as a disguise probably that he got used?

Disney in the UK marathoned this all the time

Elisa Mazda got a chuckle out of me. lol
Hey, HatsOffMedia. I wish Gargoyles would continue with a new season exclusively on Disney+.
This show was pretty cool to me as a kid☺️✨🌸💖 really need to rewatch again tho and more so as an adult.😁 😅Also great video on this by the way^^and your puppet Avatar very cute.☺️🌺💕💗
😍 Gargoyles Rocked Seriously This Show Was hands Down The Best too this Day Has made a cult following The hard Fans just Can't Get enough
the one franchise I wish would get reboot even if it sucked as long it had that original voice cast I would be happy.
Nope, gargoyles needs all the respect and care that any other reboot would get.
Another great video man
David xanatos remind me of vlad master
Oh I see...
HatsOffMedia is not Hats Off Entertainment but nothing says you can't do a look at Dennis the menace too.
BLOOD MOON SACRIFICES YESSSSSS
Can you do a topic on SilverWing next?
If it does come back, Disney needs to stay out of it!!!
Lexington could not be revealed as gay he was hitting on Angela in one of the episodes where they nicknamed her Angie. Maybe he could be bisexual.
