Can install a boiler, furnace and AC unit on his own and doesn't have to put up with any boneheaded co-workers at a company. This is a good life👍
Steve is good with those boilers. I believe that Steve said in one video that his supply house delivers the boiler to the customer’s home and the driver helped bring the boiler down into the basement. I literally hate installing a furnace w/coil in tiny little utility closets. There’s no room to work and takes almost twice as long (to install it correctly).
Still gotta deal with bonehead suppliers, parts shortages, epa breathing down his neck, running a business by himself..not bad at all. He sure is at the top of his game
Also he doesn't have to deal with joe crisara or nexstar sales tactics.
No none sense approach simple stupid on most jobs , unless dealing with a hack install previously by the Grinch leaves crusty crumbs everywhere..🤔😸😁
I could when I was younger but it all killed my back. I blame it on removing wall hung ci boilers myself and carrying it to the van. When I had a helper he was in the job john on his phone.
50 years ago i guess i watched " the wonderful world of disney" or the early sunday movie..yes there was a late movie too..now i watch a plumber in a moldy basement replacing a boiler. Times have changed for me
Great entertainment Steve's the best
Nice clean install as always Steve
Steven, Thanks for the Tech Tips 👍
perfect install imo. nice pitch on the flu pipe. take a good look, this is quality.
cardboard on top of the new unit while installing so it doesnt get dinged up and looks new. excellent
Nice. You really do a top job and make it look easy. That cellar looks like the 1800s of so. We have a lot of old homes here in DC
I wish the boilers we did were this simple! Nice work steve👍🏻
Nice job Steve that’s why your the man
Top job mate proper interesting way to connect a pump 😎👍
Nice work as usual. I like the way he puts cardboard on top of the new boiler that costs thousands of dollars after installation. I know it's a boiler not a Corvette, but I was not happy when I had a plumber use my new boiler as a tool rest and scratched up the top of it before I even got to use it for the first time. Something tells me if the inspector knows that Steve installed it, he won't be there long.
I kind of miss the phone calls while working 😆
Good afternoon Steve and Miss Molly!
Great work Sir
Looks like the piping wasn't that bad this time. Always like a nice clean look
The mans use of a crescent wrench is amazing! Kind of like vice grip garage!
This was great
Thank you for your content! Never a dull moment!
"Give it a good howyadoin" I love it
Awesome job Steve love your videos.
Nice install, very professional.
Good,job
Nice simple swap out! I didn’t see any type of air separation devices?
I think the Taco MasterMind was just an early version of an outdoor reset controller. Today we would use something like a Tekmar 260 unit to do basically the same thing.
Fantastic job Steven 👍
Do you have a head camera now? 📷 was a a good perspective of you working.. not having to stop and start filming with 1 hand or moving camera to different area. You can work using both hands and film ar the same time..
Great video Steve. I've been watching from the UK for YEARS! Always look forward to your uploads..
i did get a gopro 10 i might try in on some videos as i go along
What do you call the process of taking the oil smell out of the new gas steam furnace once installed ? Thanks
Another great day with Steve
Surprised nobody commented on the relief valve being horizontal and not facing up. Besides that everything looks good 👍
Like how put everything away from boiler so any leaks won’t drip on top of boiler! Except the high vent? Also would the high vent be the highest point on the system to bleed air? Like just above the expansion tank ? I mean it is called the high vent!!
txs for sharing...clean job, no issues
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍. Nice work Steve!
How about shut off flanges for the circ?
Great Job!!
Does that boiler have a built in draft hood ? I noticed you did not install one. But you had a good CO reading Great one man show. Now you and Molly can enjoy some of that great home made soup.
yes draft hood is in front of boiler just below smokepipe you can see a opening if front of boiler above the electronic control
Hi Steve , what would labor be for just exchanging gas boiler if i purchase Boiler ?
I'm about to put in a boiler myself first time hope they have no problems this video is awesome I watch this game all the time he's awesome
Hi!! Seen a few of your videos and noticed you use the testo 320. I just started in the trade and was wondering if the Sauermann is ok and why is the testo better if so
You sound like Michael Myers breathing in his mask 😂
Did they have two boilers and only replaced one?
Nice job/good work.
curious.. ordered a peerless boiler.. replacing older 1992 dunkirk 140000 btu with same btu and very similar looking new peerless.. it’s for an older 1903 1 1/2 story frame.. i’m near chicago.. not in rush but was told by hvac guy i know it would be $3500 for install with $800 in parts sound kinda high? just trying to get an idea. worked trades before (electric) but not very knowledgeable with boilers.. Any advice would be helpful. thanks
What brand was that one?
You do nice work Steve
I'm just guessing you have a Boston accent. I'm rural Pa mountains. I traveled around and worked with people from around the country.
I installed a new gas bolier recently. But for some reson the boiler is running without reading the thermostat. Is this a faulty wiring or something to do with the boiler installation? The thermostat is getting power, it reads the time and measure the temperature in the room, but it doesnt regulate the house temperature set on the thermostat with the boiler . Its set at 70 but the house temp is 90!
Don't know what the hell this shit is. That's coming out 🤣🤣
I see you took out a well Mclain and replaced it with a different brand. What brand was it and do you prefer that brand over Well McClain?
Nice, clean, work…!!!
Hello Sir - thank you for posting your videos. I am a person trying to gain some understanding of boilers, having them installed because I have been told I need a new boiler. If you don't mind and are able - I would like to ask few a questions. 1. How long would you estimate the life of this boiler you installed in this video? 2. Do you have a particular brand that you feel confident has the longest operational life and how long would that be (10, 20, 30 years)? The boiler I am seeking is for a hot water boiler for radiator heat. How would you say one should expect to pay for the boiler installation such as what you put in? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide.
Fearless Peerless
Do you serve Northeast Jersey?
Excellent
Any mechanics out there Near southwest Michigan. I need to install a new boiler. My Wiel_mMaclian of 29 yrs went kaput. Was going to try to do it myself and have been watching videos but have to many questions. Looking for a mechanic to do it as a side hustle.
Old house still has white wash on the stone foundation
Steve got a new can of pipe dope!! you wouldn't think the oil would dry out
pipe dope does dry out unless your using it all the time then no .. if it sits in the box it will dry out .
Do you have to install a chimney liner? We can't just run a vent inside the chimney in Kentucky. We have to run a chimney liner and tie the furnace or boiler vent into the chimney liner.
Sounds safe and sensible forward thinking Install move ..., 🤔👍💪✌️🙏😔💎🖖
it had a clay liner in good shape ..inside chimney .. no need for a separate liner
I honestly hate running chimney liners. I wish we could do that as well steve.. Nice install job by the way
Price?
No isolation valves on the pump? Really nice work though, love what you do.
Isolation on flow and return to boiler plus zone valves, none needed.
Steve usually on point install , nice comment old age creeping on all of us 🤔✌️👍💪
Another satisfied customer mama
Hey Steve, why do those old fashioned expansion tanks last so long? What is so differnt about them compared to new shitty ones tat only last a little while?
california inspectors are 4 hr windows if they show.
Re-did my bathroom this summer. Big believer in the pipe dope / Teflon combo.
Always pumps on the feed , always a spirovent
How much did you charge for this job? Had a guy here yesterday telling me my heat exchanger days are numbered on my Burnham...quoted me 7k to replace. Is that a fair price?
Get two more prices from local contractors. Without looking at your particular job, it’s impossible to know if that price is “fair”.
my uncle basement got one of this, this boiler is for supply heat for the room , right ? not for hot water shower. anyone know ? thanks
a boiler could also be used for domestic water as well, not just for heat
I ask how much will cost this new boiler and labor?
Hello Steve and Miss Molly!
Hey Steve, you are right about "Saving the pennies" price of everything is rising fast!
As far as pump placement, on high mass boilers I'll install supply or return. Low mass boilers I tend to prefer installing on the return to push through the boiler.

Nice changeout. Pumping away does nothing for GPM, no matter where pump is its always the same. Helps get air out if you install a air seperator.

Wow…the inspector around here might show up a month or two later to sign off 😂😂😂
why is this type of boiler used in stead of a combi hr-boiler what we have here in europe? this type we don't use anymore. never seen in my life
BECAUSE THEY LAST 40 YEARS YOUR COMBI WALL HUNG JUNK YOU MIGHT GET 15 IF YOU PRAY REAL HARD
How are the zone heads wired in this
new system?
same as last system ..
look up taco zone valve wiring
I use to put the circ pump on the return but you live and learn on a small two family might not make to much of a difference anything bigger and it just won’t be as efficient it will work because water and steam systems are very forgiving
I always heard you should but them on return as the return will be cooler and the pump will last longer...we have modern condensing boilers here and all pumps are on returns.. but to be honest a large house here in the UK is probly a tiny house to your guys in the US
from the UK 🇬🇧
It is not about supply return. It is about pump relasionship to expansion tank. Which he does not follow. Do some research will give you a whole new look at things.

Nice install, ill take an 80+ over a 90 any day
yes 80+ will last 30 years ....90 + your lucky to get 15 years out of them so you do the math .. 90+ will cost a lot more in the long run
👍👍👍🎃🎃🎃
There was a guy who cleaned up old gas boilers on ytube, I can't seem to remember his name?👀
The Dan holahanski !
