What is YOUR favorite Steam Deck Feature?

Emualation + the dock. I was just playing PS2 with a friend for hours! It felt awesome to play couch co-op again on a device that could play modern day PC games, can be picked up to play in bed, it's just awesome
The relatively low cost of the machine, the Verified status like you said, the form factor, build quality and great Steam sales. Also the fact I can place all the PC games as well as many of the Xbox exclusives and many PS4 and PS5 games. The Steam Deck just works and it constantly gets updates and support from Valve and the community. I too am a dad. Believe me I get it!
One good thing coming out of this is devs are targeting the deck so games release already being verified since they made an effort to make sure it ran well on deck. It’s not only good for deck users. But it also helps make sure games run well on lots of different hardware other than just the top of the line stuff.
Seeing YOU without a hat, is like seeing The Cat in the Hat without his hat.

The funny thing is that when comparing the Steam Deck with the home consoles, gaming PCs, other handheld PCs, etc the argument is "it's not about the power, it's about convenience etc"
When the Switch comes up though (that's arguably way better when it comes to that) all of a sudden it's all about the power again 😄
The steamdeck is the most powerful convenient device, while the switch is just the most convenient device.
@@Gamer-vs3xl It depends on the point of view, some can say it's not either (convenient or powerful)
In actuality along with the Switch are by far the less capable gaming divides and the Steam Deck it's also way less convenient and reliable
I wouldn’t suggest one over the other. They both deliver similar experiences on paper, the game catalogs is what defer them. Steam simply has more access than Nintendo. If I had to choose one, I would still choose Nintendo because of my affinity with the franchises.

Steamdeck has the hood parts of console gaming and the good of pc gaming slammed together. Swich, xbox, ps, or windows handhelds are not even close to competing with deck.
If you doubt it i suggest you try it and then give your opinion.
As example my girlfriend who was console peasant tried my deck.. Now she has her own deck and xbox is collecting dust.

If Microsoft is making a hybrid handheld and there is a good chance that will be the next console then they have a big problem with the Steam deck because the Steam deck can play almost all their games
Even more games would be compatible if the anticheats had Linux enabled
I just bought a steam deck OLED last month. Really enjoy it, I don’t think I’ll be buying console or pc anymore. Just like the portability of SD and the good deals on games. Never going back.

I think you nailed it, despite me owning the Ally and Legion Go, I still pick up the SD the most.

Blame Apple with the Mac vs PC campaign. You’re not wrong, but you also know that the majority of the time people mean Windows vs Apple.
By that reason a cd is a dvd and vice versa. For a while macs were pcs as they were running x86 processors, but not anymore
@@Skett a CD player literally can not read a dvd. It is physically impossible.
@@vyor8837 I know, that's my point, they're different. It doesn't mean that a cd isn't a Digital Versatile Disc though.
As I said, Macs had a period of using x86 processors and therefore would have been pcs, but right now they aren't. Hence you can't natively run windows anymore

Steam verified can be huge thing for pc gaming once steam deck 2 comes out since there could be finally pc spec where almost every game i known to run and pcs that have more power can just run that game better

Dynamic range on this video is Gucci. Windows are normally tricky. You kilt' it. I bought a mini PC for light gaming like Stardew Valley, and older Command and Conquer
I use a 48” 4K tv for docked Steamdeck. Definitely isn’t the peak visual performance, but it’s workable. The hybrid nature makes up for it though.
Hands down my favorite gaming device since the Gameboy SP or PS2.

You should review the official steam deck dock compared to other docks.
I also use a TV hooked up to my gaming PC! Nice! And Kingdom Hearts and FFX? Hell yeah man.

I got a dock and ran it through my Retrotink 4k......
It's amazing, makes it feel like a portable retro PS4.
Kingdom Hearts at 30 fps through it with all the CRT filters, it looks perfect(IMO)
Persona 3 Reload pops.....CRT mask, interlaced flicker, and a slight blur, takes me back.
and I haven't noticed any weird lag or artifacts that I got with my Switch on the Retrotink.
And I can just pick it up and play it anywhere else in the house.

Not thinking I could properly do this has kept me away from PC gaming because I wanna play games on a couch, not at a desk. But after some research and seeing people set their PC up like a console with things like Steam Big Picture mode has me about to pull the trigger on a PC.
@@EmptyZach You're not alone, i've noticed a lot of people don't seem to consider the fact that you can plug a PC directly into a TV and/or use something like a steam link to stream to your TV for a very typical couch gaming experience. I've got a PC for when I feel like playing at my desk, a steam deck for when I want to take it on the road with me, and a steam link for when I want to have that couch gaming experience.
@@RecliningWhaleI pulled the trigger on a gaming PC hours after I left that comment. Hooked it up to my 65” TV and having so much fun. The performance difference from console is unreal.
How is offline play? Do you need WiFi to play something like rdr2 or can you play your downloaded games offline? I’ve heard mixed reviews
It’s fine. It can vary game to game tho. I had mine offline for a couple weeks and had no problems.
Great. Sometimes I play 100% offline and don’t even know it until I go to open the friends tab to see who’s playing.

How so
I have the exact same setup as yours with the skull and co case and thumbstick covers. Love it so much. I modded my steam deck with an transparent case with a cold plate on the thermal cover/shroud. I also replaced all thermal pads and paste with higher performing paste/pads. In addition, i updated the NVMe storage to 2TB. Such an awesome piece of tech.
