To be shot and murdered is horrible but to be presumed a criminal without evidence, hunted down like an animal, cornered, taunted, and shot dead without remorse primarily because you are a black man who is jogging is beyond dispicable. In my opinion, they got off easy. They took Arbery's life in cold blood but they will live. God help us. We are all humans and should love others as we do our own self. God never intended for race to be in that equation and we should never make race a factor either.

Wow, the comment that these three men still don't think they did anything wrong by killing a black, unarmed jogger that had caused them no harm, is EXACTLY why these three reprehensible men should spend the rest of their miserable lives in prison.
Your comment is excellent! Most Americans fail to realize we are a hateful and racist society, and always have been. Remember slavery? Remember the Little Rock 9? I do, and I'm a white septuagenarian and saw the same racist behavior in Vietnam. Best of luck to all of us!
why does skin color have anything to do with anything? You people are the racist ones, it has nothing to do with skin! Its just a way for the world and media to make a narrative that suits them, and applies to any of the terrible injustice to black people. But guess what if you just listened and complied, then most situations with police will always turn out good. To qualify for the death penalty in Georgia a person must have a prior felony conviction for violent crimes I.e. armed robbery, rape, murder etc. These men don’t qualify for the death penalty for that reason. But I do understand the eye for an eye mentality. They will all die in prison. Doubt if anything changes during the appeal process. The convicted neighbor has to do 30 years before he’s eligible for parole. He won’t make it.
Its pretty obvious he thought it was ridiculous that he had to sentence Roddie Bryan to 30 years, I don't know if most of the people praising him would agree with that.
Wow, you think this is justice? There are repeat DUI drivers who have killed people and fled the scene who got lighter sentences than this. I hope this gets reduced/reversed on appeal.
I respect this judge immensely. He spoke the facts of the case and to the heart of humanity. I will become better because of his words. We can all learn something from this senseless violent act.
@@Hunee- This judge suppressed pertinent evidence because he bought into the Critical Race Theory fad that's circulating in law schools. He hid Arbery's criminal history from the jury because he believes it was part of some non-existent "systemic racism".
What infuriates me even more than this sentence (justly deserved, in my opinion) is the fact that although this judge CLEARLY explained the law and how it applies in this situation, there are people STILL out here in America that think these thugs did nothing wrong. I'm glad they got LIFE IN PRISON.
That's because the media keeps pushing the bullshit lie that Arbery was out for a jog and wasn't up to no good. They also like to keep covering up the fact that he ran all the way down the road and tried to wrestle the gun away from McMichael.

Sadly Ahmaud Arbery was unfairly judged. Because of his beautiful dark skin color! It didn't matter if Ahmaud Arbery would have been walking, jogging, or dancing. They meant to do the evilness that they did.
Every case that DA prosecuted that involved a Black defendant can now be challenged in court for racial bias. I'm sure the DA's office is thrilled by that prospect. That's what happens when they see racism and look the other way.
@Jody Owen maybe you should review the facts in this case. How the DA stepped in to call off the investigation. How the police then followed those instructions instead of doing an investigation. How that DA recused herself and found another DA with the same pov, who also had to recuse himself. Why would they have to do that? Now, that DA is being charged with violating her oath of office. You sound like you have deliberately ignored any research so you can now quiz me on what evidence I have. Or you seen the evidence and are now being obtuse.

@Jody Owen each individual committed separate CRIMES. Each action they took was against the law. The law isn’t one big pile it’s each individual action that was against THE LAW. Pointing your gun at someone is a crime. Shooting your gun without killing someone is a crime. Shooting a gun with intent to kill is a crime. Chasing someone down against their will in a vehicle is a crime. Cornering someone with a vehicle is a crime. Ramming someone with your car is a crime (which they did). The list goes on and on. Each individual action they took to kill and murder that sweet boy is a crime. THATS THE RULES OF THE LAW IN GEORGIA. Lol you’re not that smart. And let me guess you’re white. The most chilling aspect of this to me is the fact that had Bryant NOT released the video he took, these good old boys would have never been arrested and tried. That DA down there had no intention of taking any action. Sad to realize that in this day and age racism on the part of officials entrusted to ensure justice is still alive and well in some areas. She needs to be the next one to face the consequences of her actions/decisions.
It was Greg McMichael who asked Bryant for the video and he released it thur his lawyer ( at the time). With the video release he paved the way to a cell for the remainder of his life.
Video shows a jogger attacks armed man. We all know commies wanna take the guns and rights. Video shows a man with a gun being attacked by a nutter seen breaking in properties .
The video horrified me as a mother of two sons, I " can" imagine what his mother was feeling when she saw the video of her son being chased and murdered. The image of the video and the sound of the shotgun blast is still in my head. I can't believe that the men who committed this horrible crime thought that it was justified! They got exactly what they deserved, Great job Judge😉
I want every single law officer who was involved in this case (ESPECIALLY the one who offered water to the McMichaels at the scene instead of giving first aid to Ahmaud Arbery while he was lying feet away in his own blood) to be investigated and charged. He did block him, but how was he supposed to know he was going to be murdered? There was no meeting ahead of time, no conspiracy. I don't get it. Beautiful statement from the judge. "Thinking the worst of someone brings out our worst character. It's better to think the best of someone." Three things the murders didn't do: 1. Turn the other cheek when they saw the video. Let the cops do their job. 2. Show mercy when pointing a loaded gun at someone and think about the consequences before pulling the trigger. 3. Be accountable for taking a human life. They could have plead guilty for a lighter sentence. They still think they're innocent. Everything the judge said about them was correct. They have no humanity left. Therefore life sentence is the best choice.

Demons don’t have any remorse your Honor. Not even Mr Brian the neighbor who couldn’t mind his business and joined in the chase in his pick up truck. Thank you for putting these filth away your Honor.
He is very remorseful, though! He always has been, never justified what happened. From day 1, his first statement was to the effect of "we shouldn't have been chasing that guy," whereas Travis and his dad felt justified. I know it's a heartbreaking case, but in all fairness, if you can remove your emotions and look at the evidence, this Brian guy was remorseful.
Weeks after Arbery was murdered and the tape was released, certain people had come out and said - "Well, if Arbery hadn't gone for the McMichael's gun then he'd still be alive. Just sayin! Just sayin!" Well, in that spirit, let me say this, "Well, if they didn't go after Arbery then they'd still be free men. Just sayin! Just sayin!"
The judge was a blessing from heaven he handled the situation so good and when he said : "We need to think twice as human beings on how we treat our neighbours " I felt that .
The judge does such a great job describing exactly what occurred. If you look at George McMichael sitting there he completely shows no remorse. My prayers go out to Ahmad Aubrey's family..
Probably because he didn't do anything close to justify the convictions and sentence. That loser was looking for places to steal from and ran across the road into a gun.
I found it funny that only Bryan stood up to hear his sentencing while Travis and Greg remained seated and when Greg heard his sentence just kind of gave a hand gesture of, "I don't care", or he just expected it.

We need answers regarding the first responding officer that never rendered aid to an injured man. He then lied to the next on scene regarding the victim's vitals when asked about whether he had a pulse. The SOB never checked. We will never know if he could have been saved. Even if his chances of surviving were slim to none with the amount of trauma and blood loss, he was still worthy of an attempt. The whole department needs to be under DOJ investigation for allowing a shooter to walk around freely while a victim lay in a pool of blood. They should have been in hand cuffs or at least in the back of the officer's patrol car minutes after his arrival. Not holding this department and officer accountable is sending the message that you can murder an innocent black man if you're white and get away with it, but just don't record it.

Not sure congratulations are appropriate for a judge... he is there to balance the scales of justice, nothing more. I wasn't a member of the jury and have no opinion on the verdict one way or another, but a successful appeal seems likely for all three men here. The judge seemed highly bias, frankly. The judge excluded all of the following evidence: Arbery had a record. He ran from police who saw he had a gun. He had shoplifting convictions, and had a reputation among store owners as “The Jogger,” who would steal and then run away. He was so volatile his mother called the police on him, warning that he might get violent. Arbery was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder and put on Zyprexa, an anti-psychotic; it was not in his system on autopsy. There was a small amount of THC in his blood, which makes people with his condition irritable and impulsive. Arbery was on probation for two crimes when he was killed, which probably made him reluctant to talk about what he was doing in the building that day. Most crazy, the judge allowed jury intimidating by allowing Sharpton, Jackson and the other race hustlers in the courtroom... I mean, wow.
When my daughter was a high schooler, & jogging on our street, a young white man called her racial slurs & other unkind comments. When I found out, I (the ONLY brown-skinned homeowner on my street), I knocked on the doors of ALL neighbors who had young men who lived there. I unapologetically accused all parents & accused their white young sons. At the last house, I found the young man who verbally & racially assaulted my beautiful intelligent teenager; his house had a HUGE cross hanging on the front door. The father was flat out shocked, repeatedly apologized and was embarrassed. My voice was loud so neighbors could hear, I stared at their cross as I spoke & I let them know that I had moved into the neighborhood 15-17 years before they did. I told the young man in front of his father, why don't you leave & go back where you came from? They moved out of the neighborhood within 6 months : ] The young man was about 20 years old, lived at home and I could hear his dad yelling at him after I walked away from their house. I told his father that he oughta be concerned that his adult son is saying threats towards a minor. I don't think 'Dad' expected me to say such a thing. Yeh, they moved out, quickly : ]
It sounds like you accused a lot of innocent people before you found the guilty one. Not sure what significance the cross has. You don't say how you knew this kid was guilty but apparently that was established and the father was shocked and horrified that his son would behave that way. Where did the kid come from? If he was 20 he might have come from right there. From what you're saying is sounds like the father was concerned. The kid shouldn't be talking that way to anyone, minor or not. If I was the father I would have kicked the kid out of the house. My kid would never do something like that so I would also investigate what was in his head that would have cause him to behave that way and I would have had him apologize personally to you daughter. I hope you received support from your other neighbors who were not involved in the incident.

I hope that the father and son murderers serve their life sentences apart. These animals separated Ahmaud Arbery from all those who loved him and whom he loved, forever! They lied to cover the murder but because they thought that killing a Black man would be considered the same as killing a hunted animal, so they thought nothing about putting up a video to brag about how they chased, captured and killed a N . They convicted themselves with that video that pointed out all of the lies that they had told the authorities. They deserve to serve every second of everyday behind bars til they have died, including Bryant who blocked Ahmaud and making it possible for that son and that father to take the breath of life from such a young, exuberant and very loved man because those good ol boys resented his very existence!
Agreed. The neighbour participated in making it possible for this father and son to murder this young man. It’s easy to show concern about what they did after the cops arrive on scene. @Jody Owen throw away the keys 🙃
@Jody Owen each individual committed separate CRIMES. Each action they took was against the law. The law isn’t one big pile it’s each individual action that was against THE LAW. Beautiful statement from the judge. "Thinking the worst of someone brings out our worst character. It's better to think the best of someone."
Three things the murders didn't do:

Even if his chances of surviving were slim to none with the amount of trauma and blood loss, he was still worthy of an attempt. The whole department needs to be under DOJ investigation for allowing a shooter to walk around freely while a victim lay in a pool of blood.
Outstanding judge! Deserves all of the due respect. Fair, balanced and professional. This judge serves as an example of the finest in the judiciary.
Throw the book at all 3 men, America needs more Judges like this in every Court Room. I see this case as a hate crime
Stay Tune for the Federal Case next month and I am sure the civil case that will follow after that.
You don't just see it as one, it IS one.
A judge who makes you feel like there is hope for the justice system I wish there were more judges like him who seem to care and just want to give fairness and justice no matter who the defendant or the victim is he’s just there to hand down justice and that was amazing to see honestly they literally thought they were just gonna get off cause everyone up to the point they met prosecutors this judge and the jury they felt they were right for their disgusting actions and that is terrifying smh good job to everyone who got this outcome
In my opinion this judge is a true gift in our judicial system I wish we had dozens more like him. God bless and Ty for your service
I'm never gonna forget this moment. RIP my brother.
No one should ever forget. What these people did to this young man is no different than what was done to many beautiful young African American's in the 1800's -1960's.. Only this happened in a time when something like this shouldn't happen to anyone, no matter what race the person is.
@@C.Brown5150this case shows the fact that ppl don't know the difference between right and wrong. Maybe its time we all should. Im sad that black perants has this experience my heart hurts for all that had to live under this condition. I can only promise that I won't allow myself to forget a good brother Mr. Ahmad Aubrey RIP
Smells like justice out here
I do not know Ahmaud personally but spiritually I felt deeply hurt 😢 when I heard about his death ! I’ve never felt someone presence so strong like this young man ! I did fast and prayed for him to get his justice its a sad situation! Rest in heaven Ahmaud 🙏🏽blessings to the mom for her strength and the judge that took on this case!
That is one great Judge. Not just because of the verdicts he handed down, but how well he explained himself and the reasons. I hope the family of Ahmaud Arbery can rest, just a little bit more now…😞
He didn’t hand down a verdict, the jury did. He just did the sentencing.
That's correct ,good job from the jury
Seems like this highly intelligent Judge would make a good President.
This is what I’m talking about👍When he did the 1 min of silence it made me tear up🥲his speech was very powerful!
A phenomenal president indeed.
This Is so sad that there are humans walking this earth with so much hate in their hearts that they are capable of killing someone in broad daylight because they had dark skin. No other reason. Animals are treated better in this country. These got exactly what they deserved. Years ago they wouldn't have served a day in jail because of the racism and way of life in the south. The judge was wonderful.
That's why I try to be the best person I can be, these people have been this way for so long they can't change? So what ever way a person is when they die, they stay that way for al eternity. At least that's what I read.
This judge made me freaking cry dude. What an amazing man. We need more judges
