So true. Good day for Justice. Curious why is African American used to describe black people? Plenty of blacks never lived there. Conversely. Why isn’t European American used for all whites? Both sound disingenuous to generalize origins.
There are Africans, and there are Americans, but there are few African Americans--and you never hear of American Africans. You were either born a citizen of one place, or the other (except for cases of dual citizenship).
Racism isn't real it's a made up word to cause confusion and divide there's only one race human beings you can't be racist against your own race there are only different ethnicities.
Is it weird I have a ‘legal crush’ on this judge? He’s so composed and has such control of his court while being kind and soft spoken. This is a drastically different judge than that of the judge in the Rittenhouse trial.
A judge snapping in a court of law is unprofessional and 99.9% positive it influenced the case from that point forward. It was lost the second the judge inserted himself into the trial and reprehended the states DA. There’s a reason for recesses.
But I agree this Judge was great. And knew how to HOLD his courtroom in order by dismissing the person attending who disrupted. Unlike other judges who don’t have emotional control.
@@user-yj3rf1zy7l part of a judge's responsibility is to enforce codes of conduct from the attorneys from both sides of a trial. The prosecutor was way over the line and to be honest should have his license revoked. The judge wasn't the one out of line at all.

I’m not someone who comments on trial results as it’s in terrible taste. However, it was apparent the defence had absolutely nothing when they tried to redefine a legal term (as they basically said they have no defence sans the redefinition) and then tried to paint the poor victim as a bad person because he wore khaki shorts and no socks.
I'm wondering by them eleven white people and one black juror if they thought they would walk scott free. @@windinhishair3512 They also could have ran him over? Like I said they should have never chased him in the first place I don’t wanna blame an object when it’s the people behind them that deserve all the blame.
So now that its over why don't they start going after (or criminally investigating/charging) the local police who deliberately refused to do anything about that until the state picked up the case because it was all over the news? although I think the prosecutor did get in trouble for her role in telling the cop to not press charges on the 3 men at first
There are actual professional standards and rules for attorneys, which includes high ranking prosecutors. For police officers, not so much: they can get fired, but a corrupt union can easily get them reinstated or hired elsewhere, and they effectively can never lose their pension. Reform is desperately needed there.
During the trial, the defense relied on the tactic of trying to appeal to racist sentiments they believed at least one juror might have harbored, especially the "blonde" lawyer, talking about "long, dirty toenails", and they attempted, as usual in cases like this, to blame the victim for the crimes of the defendants. They were looking for a "Paul Manafort juror", at least one who would vote to acquit no matter how ironclad the evidence was against the defendants. They also tried to justify the acts of the criminals by condoning racist profiling, as if it is OK for whites to automatically assume that a Black man can be murdered on white suspicion alone, without due process. The defense exemplified support for racism in America. That was not justice. It would be good if the Bar associations would issue a conduct rule to forbid such tactics, and any lawyers attempting such in the future, be barred from practicing law. Now it remains to be seen if the judge pulls a "Vincent Chin", and gives the lightest sentences possible in the areas where he has discretion.
@Esther .Y lee So those who get the possibility of parole will probably get it, even though they shouldn't. Also, don't be surprised if one or more convictions are overturned on appeal.
@@DanielBowens I don't think an error took place, but after seeing the Rittenhouse judge stack that case, it is very possible they will shop for a trump judge, who will allow all sorts of shenanigans by the defense lawyers. It won't be about the facts, but rather about politics.

Good judge, great lead prosecutor, perfect verdicts.
As good as the judge and prosecution were, the criminals and their defense attorneys were horrid!
As much as I wanted them to be convicted I was concerned until Travis was cross examined and his credibility was destroyed.
His incessant lying and attempts to twist the facts by claiming he was confused when he was questioned proved he was a self serving liar who only wanted to save his skin.
The defense made an irreparable mistake putting Travis on the stand. While the prosecution must have been overcome with glee when the defense put Travis on the stand.

So true. Good day for Justice. Curious why is African American used to describe black people? Plenty of blacks never lived there. Conversely. Why isn’t European American used for all whites? Both sound disingenuous to generalize origins.

Ironically they were charged after the video Roddy distributed went public and unanimously convicted as a result of Travis’s testimony.

So now that its over why don't they start going after (or criminally investigating/charging) the local police who deliberately refused to do anything about that until the state picked up the case because it was all over the news? although I think the prosecutor did get in trouble for her role in telling the cop to not press charges on the 3 men at first
It’s amazing how knowing the right people can have such dramatic changes in one’s life.
They already started with the female DA who refused to press charges.
There are actual professional standards and rules for attorneys, which includes high ranking prosecutors. For police officers, not so much: they can get fired, but a corrupt union can easily get them reinstated or hired elsewhere, and they effectively can never lose their pension. Reform is desperately needed there.

I wish I was that judge. I would’ve had a blast saying “guilty” all those times.

@@brianbatie6650 what makes you think an appeal would overturn this case? You’re saying that based on what? Where do you think an error took place?
@@DanielBowens I don't think an error took place, but after seeing the Rittenhouse judge stack that case, it is very possible they will shop for a trump judge, who will allow all sorts of shenanigans by the defense lawyers. It won't be about the facts, but rather about politics.
