How do you climb on a roof with these ladders with gutters? Wouldn't you dent or scratch the gutters?

Werner had a recall of their folding ladders back in 2018. Seemed appropriate, as I had two of them break. I've stayed away from them ever since.
I've been using a Little Giant folding ladder for the past five years with zero problems

Have you ever thought about making the music quieter than the narration. I think that it is called "background" music for a very good reason.

You can’t go back and change music on a video that was published almost 1.5 years ago. This video was published when our channel first started and the music issue has been fixed.

Start at 1:50 for the meat of the video. Good information, but he has a really long intro.
TL;DR: If you don't have a lot of ladders already, buy a multi-function ladder.

What do u think about telescopic ladder vs extension in terms of safety and overall practicality/utility? To me, these two types seem extremely similar and I'm trying to understand more of the difference between them. Thanks.

I personally hate the telescopic ladder but I know many guys in construction who love them. I would say if you have a truck, the multifunction or extension is the way to go. If you don't, the telescopic is.

@@DigitalRoofingInnovations Appreciate the reply. Out of curiosity, what is it that you hate about telescopic?
For me, I don't trust the safety of them. Also, the utility of them. Seems like multifunction does what telescopic does and more, more safely.

Telescopic ladders are very convenient, easy to store and some are light enough to easily carry. However from a safety perspective you must consider the multiple points of failure at every single step.
Most of the potential points of failure are hidden from view, there is often no warning when they fail.
If easy storage is more important than your life, then this is the ladder for you.
Check public records for lawsuits involving these ladders, many folks have had their lives changed forever when the ladder failed.
Sometimes stepping off a roof and onto the ladder, that first step fails, then the whole ladder collapses resulting in death or TBI (traumatic brain injury).
The common problem was there was no warning or indication that the ladder was about to fail. The ladder worked perfectly until it didn't.
Extension ladders are the safest ladders made, all of the hardware is in plain sight.
There are only 2 locks / latches for the whole ladder.
If a lock has not engaged, you can see it before climbing the ladder. Checking out the ladder before each use will expose any damaged or lose parts.

Good video. The multipurpose ladders are not good when like a 20+ foot extension ladder. Their added weight and the fact you cant slide up the top part with the rope makes them unmanageable. So as you said, if have a high area to get to, you want the traditional extension ladder.

I have a gorilla ladder 26 foot version. I'm in roofing sales and have been considering a Werner 24 foot fiberglass 1aa 375 pound load range. Maybe a bit overkill but I don't like the way the gorilla ladder feels "clunky" and "wobbly. Do you think the Werner extension will give a more solid feel??? Also I wanted to know what your thoughts on extension ladder accessories is? Specifically the standoffs and the walk through safety rails". And lastly, do you have any experience or thoughts on the Ridge pro safety anchor? Money is not a factor so I value your input on these items without considering the cost as a determining factor. Thanks.....

    • @DigitalRoofingInnovations
      @DigitalRoofingInnovations  3 роки тому

Hey man, thanks for the comments and questions. In my opinion, the Werner MT-22 or MT-17 aluminum ladders are the best for contractors. Yes, the extension ladders are awesome, but of course they take up more space and those fiberglass ladders are very heavy, but they are awesome when climbing up on an apartment complex or something similar. I did a review on the Werner MT Line (Not sponsored, just the ladders I use) - ua-cam.com/video/sV6Ock9LC_8/v-deo.html
As for the accessories, I like what you have mentioned above. Anything added to improve safety and make you feel comfortable are welcomed. The Ridge Pro safety anchor is a great choice.
