"Buy 'em by the sack full!"
In 1972, the burgers were $0.10/each where I lived and my parents would buy 50-60 burgers and 8 orders of fries for our family treat every now and then. Our family dog, a black lab, was also included for a couple burgers and some fries.
That must’ve been rewarding back in the day!
Dogs and Onions, Should never Mix.
@@heisenberg2966dogs and fast food should never mix, people feed their shih tzus and chihuahuas mcdonald’s and wonder why they are morbidly obese.
Every time I see Harold and Kumar go to white castle I crave them for a month
LOL!
Same 😂
I don't watch that movie without eating burgers and fries lol
My favorite movie of all time
Amen
Nothing like a good old fashioned steamed ham…burger
Well it’s a regional dialect
I hear you can see the aurora borealis in the kitchen
@@tconlon251 Aurora borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? At this part of the country? Localized entirely in the kitchen? May I see it?
I said steamed clam.
I thought we were having steamed clams
I'll be honest, I never got the hype around White Castle until I had one. Now I'm all about it.
The way these are made is insane and I hope this company never goes extinct. I love it! 😂
Harlod -" I want 30 sliders, 5 french fries, 4 large cherry coke" Kumar - "I want the the same, but make mine diet cokes"
“Chuck”
I’ve always love White Castle hamburger sliders. Yummy! 😋
ok
Ew
Yo that's crazy
Eat 30+ of them and the smell coming out of your pores for the next couple days will smell just like what they did before you ate them. And don’t get me started on the exit hole.
I grew up in north Jersey and have loved WC since I was a kid. We moved to Vermont 25 years ago, so I only get to have them when we go on "vacation" to NJ. I've tried the copycat recipes...but here's what I started doing (and they really taste authentic!). When I've used ground beef rolled out thin and then frozen/partially frozen...it never really looked like WC burgers. I looked closely at a burger the last time we were there and they reminded me of "Steakums" (the frozen steak patties).
I put a small film of water in a pan with some dehydrated onions and put one frozen steak patty (per burger) in when the water begins to boil. I've tried putting the buns on top of the cooking meat (is it really meat? IDK...but I don't ask questions), but I've had better luck steaming the buns in another pan. I sprinkle some more onion, salt, pepper and garlic powder on the top and when it is mostly cooked through, I add cheese. When it is cooked, I fold it over and place it on the bun (with whatever you want on it).
Sincerely, the best tasting copies I've ever done (and I've tried many time through the years...and, ten times easier than any of these recipes.
Sounds delicious I’m going to have to try that recipe
They do sell them frozen from white castle just so you know
@@jeffadams4590lol
@@jeffadams4590yeah, but they just don't taste the same. I grew up eating white castle, but when I moved to the West Coast I had to settle for frozen. It's just not the same
Have you been to Al's Frys, which is close to the airport? I'm a UVM grad.
My favorite fast food burgers. I even started cooking them this way with holes and over onions when I made burgers at home.
Love your videos and glad to see your adventures as well. Thanks for posting this too. Have a nice day now.
I wish there was a white castle or Krystal’s in my area 😭. I am fortunate that the Walmart in my area sell frozen White Castle cheeseburgers though. They are expensive but I love them.
This video was very informative. I didn't know that the burgers were cooked on top of the onions. Very interesting
There are no White Castle restaurants in the Los Angeles area. But the frozen version (I think there are about a dozen sandwiches per box) is available at many supermarkets.
One father's day, I received Crave Case from my wife and a bag of Skittles from my daughter. I was the happiest dad that day.
I Wish White Castles Were Here in Houston, TEXAS. I was Made in Chicago, IL. (southside) smile.
My grandfathers German staple to our road trip excursions. Buy em by the case!! ♥️♥️♥️
I feel bad for people that don't have a white castle in their state, they built one near me back in 1997 and I've loved it every since
Nah it's a hard pass those burgers were not meant for human consumption. It's something you eat when you Are wasted and wake up with the worst breath thinking "tf did I do last night?"
@@deana6072thank you 🤣 I feel the same way, like Harold and kumar made it look so good, but I was very disappointed 😤
Yum!! I’ve been eating White Castle burgers since I was a little kid!
when I was a kid, WC burgers started out as "meatballs" that were smashed flat on the grill to become burgers.
Absolutely brilliant.
THE SLIDERS ARE SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Closest we have to white castle in my area is Krystal's
I think they're only good because they're small. If they were normal size i think people would notice more of the fact that they taste like a microwaved hamburger
YES WHITE CASTLE!
I just had my first white castle slider!! Delicious
0:58 so it's a live version of steamed ham? Skinner would be proud 😁👍
Every time I go to Vegas from So Cal I always to one at least once on the trip.
They look yummmy wish I could try one
AWESOME !! Yum , Yum , YUMMY !!
My son lives in New Hampshire and doesn't have White castle, but i live in New Jersey and we do! Gets em every time he's here!😊😊😊
I seriously wish they'd expand. I got these and liked them when I took a road trip to an amusement park in Chicago last year, but there are no locations close to my homestate of Nebraska.
You have something much much better.....you have runza.
They are 100% privately owned, there is 1 owner who runs it all, they don't have franchises and control all locations. They expand at a much slower pace to due not having the extra capital like the large chains.
at my White Castle the person that makes the burgers is also the same person that packages them and puts the toppings on lol. this is a very nice White Castle
Miss our local slider castle. It caught fire and they won't reopen. 50 minutes from their HQ in columbus.
Look delicious!
Really wish they had them here in Fort Worth TX. Miss them
It teared up with emotional when I tasted my first fresh cheeseburger from white castle.Fresh one taste better then the frozen one from the store. If I wanted the fresh one I need to drive 4 hours to grab one
Heading back to Kentucky in a few days, not sure which I'm looking forward to more: Spending Father's Day with my dad there or visiting the nearest White Castles.
When I go back to Kentucky the first thing I do is head to White Castle and then go see family. I live on the West Coast now and can't get fresh white castles. So sad.
I was at the Orlando location just last month. I don't get up there often.
There is no denying how delicious these sliders are. Problem is, I'm old. I eat, let's say six of them.. I wake up the next morning praying for death. It sucks to grow old.
I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. That's why I take pills before I eat them. Getting old does stink.
@@cea6600 😄
Sounds like a patty melt on a bun. I make hamburgers where I'm grilling the onions along with them and they sort of steam together.
Patty melt on a bun = cheeseburger or cheese slider. :)
If I think the frozen sliders from Walmart are good then I'm thinking the hand made ones from a white castle have got to be better
Personally I had White Castle in Vegas and they weren’t as good as the frozen ones for some odd reason
to me they taste exactly the same surprisingly
They're essentially steamed in the microwave with the packaging still on them, actually recreating the steps followed when they cook fresh white castle burgers. They pretty much should taste almost similar.
Here in Canada we don’t have any White Castle locations but would definitely like to try their burgers.
Not really missing much. As a canadian living in the states, i tried them and understand why their called "gut bombs".
Probably the worst possible burger you can make with edible food.
also wouldn't the bottom bun soak up flesh juice when it never touches the grill..?
Whjite Castle would make a fortune out here in Seattle!!
THE BEST..
his video created THE CRAVE in me!
I never lived by a White Castle, but I was able to get them at grocery stores. I would down two boxes easily, love them!
I grew up in North Minneapolis & I’d rather have White Castle over ANY other fast food joint!!
I came here after watching ndo champ kicking food shorts 😂
I didn't grow up eating White Castle, they didn't have them where I lived. When I finally went to a state that had them, the group I was with wanted to go.
We went, I had some, and thought they were gross little slimy burgers. So I wanted to see how they were made, and I'm not surprised.
That’s exactly why I came to this I don’t know why I always thought the buns were toasted but got the last time I went and ordered just you said t try he burger was slimy there were waaaay too many onions and something about the cheese was off
Not me thinking those were ice cream sandwiches on the thumbnail
i need this in london
Im super high and im craving white castle so bad, im not gonna give into the urge though 💀
Mmmmm steamed hams!
Yes.... despite the fact that they are obviously grilled....
Did everything including the drive thru mit Dere headset
I do love me some Salisbury SteakBurgers
what temperature is the grill?
He days the burgers cook in 4.5 minutes. Based on my experimentation with making Oklahoma onion burgers on my griddle, that would put the temp around 375 degF.
I guess getting one without onions is out of the question.
i had these once, from the frozen section in Walmart, in Canada(!). because the people who now run White Castle never thought that it would be a good idea to establish a base in Canada...
so - i wait again. 20 years. because they've stopped shipping them here. or, i have to travel very far - since there are none in New York state. i travel south from Ontario. why? - because the movie Harold and Kumar put them on the map as far as i'm concerned. and - they're up to their billing.
man of the fine arts
We have them in the city here in ny not sure about the rest of the state
The only thing that weirded me out about white castle burgers...are the wet buns! I love white castle burgers tho...the ones that are to wet I can't eat!
The buns get wet from the way they cook them it gets soggy
@@DeathDeclined from all that steam!!!
That's why they call them sliders. They slide in and they slide out.
That's the best part about them.
@MarvelousLXVII hahaha yeah I love them lil burgers but can't get past them really wet ones lol!!!
They are literally steamed hams
did she just put ketchup on a cheese slider? I will come and fight you Florida....all of you.
Must have been a customer request. Ketchup is standard on White Castle burgers in New York and New Jersey ONLY
What did you just say? *rolls up sleeves* How many states am I going to have to fight...@@gitgeronimo9375
Burger flippers 🤣🤣🤣
I had White Castle for the first time last week in Orlando. I’ll never touch another Krystal burger again
Probably one of the best tasting fast food burgers in the World. They were the first so they know what their doing 💯👌💯
White Castle is disgusting. Go to Wendy’s
@@oto-221yeah I've never has one but they just look soggy and gross. Also not sure if putting the bun on top of raw meat is safe
You didn't travel a lot then..... 😅 soggy, wet, that's not even proper meat but yeah let's call "sliders" tasty 🤣
I want to make these at home
I make them in fry pan and just a pinch of onion powder and some minced jalapeño, american cheese, Toast Hawaiian sweet rolls, use bread and butter pickles instead of dill, real ground mustard.
Fam. Is that the one by Orlando? I was just there on my visit to FL. They were alright. For some reason the NY version taste better 😂
You know damn well them employees don’t change their gloves on every order they make.😂
0:45 How this guy rubs every set of hamburger buns on his shirt...
The second best bugers on the planet
Interesting.
What the price for one of those burgers?
I only go to White Castle once in a blue moon.
wonder if the frozen ones are good
They are. Fresh is best but well there isn’t a White Castle in my area. They sell them at Walmart.
They are OK. It gives you the idea. But the fresh ones nothing compares! 😊
I love a good Steamed Ham
We use different onions now still love the food tho
“Well, White Castle is an interesting place, but they do steam a good ham.”
They closed down the White Castle 🏰 near where I live.
Why did the middle beef patty have only 4 holes?
Steamed hams!
The original steamed hams.
Try their fish sandwiches yummy
And their chicken rings! Yummy!
These are the real Steamed Hams.
I just had some White Castle's double cheeseburgers....
There's definitely a difference between what I had last week vs what I remember from years ago. They seem a little healthier but also not as satisfying, if that makes any sense.
Or is it just nostalgia?
I didn't even know they had a white castle down here in the South anywhere!
The frozen ones they sell in the supermarket are absolutely horrible
The ones they sell in the stores are too. Or did you not watch the video where they made the worst choice possible every step of the way?
You left out a step: how do the burgers get the top bun in the right place after they're finished cooking?
The bun knows where to go and when.
Thats a bit obvious isnt it. Both buns are steamed then you just put them together. Lol
@@Badkhela lol. No, it’s not as obvious as you might think. Sure, the top bun is moved to the top, but I’ve seen two different versions of how it’s done. I don’t think it’s all that goofy to ask that a video purporting to show “how” something is done actually shows all the steps on how it’s done - particularly as White Castle has a definite way to do each step.
Lol.
@@hortondlfn1994 uhhh huhhhh
@@Badkhela SO glad you’ve caught on! 😁
How about you come to central Texas and do all this- We had a Krystal's but it's not the same. I'll even work for y'all part-time being as tho I'm looking for a second job. There's your invitation- COME ON WHITE CASTLE💯💯
I can drool watch the little fuggers being made......I was a kid a long time ago they were 7 cents each
Perfect late night drunk food
We don't call them sliders in Brooklyn. We call them "White Castles. Perhaps they younger generation does.
What the difference between Krystals and White Castle?
Krystal patties have no holes in them & are laid directly on the grill. When hot enough to start "dancin", the patties are flipped, then a pinch of onions are placed on top of the patty then topped with the buns like those shown for the White Castles. No raw meat on the patty that way either. Never had White Castle but love Krystals. Worked there for a long while years ago.
I'd rather eat one amazing burger than multiple bread sliders.
Mmmm steamed hams
Everybody’s so creative…
😂😂
It's like someone was challenged to make burgers in the must disgusting manner possible while still technically being edible, and they nailed it on the first try.
Could not have said it better
I dont know why they call it a burger
Yo don't forget the cheese!!
pretty much steam burger
Larry Chester Thomas Aniel I used to work there
My favorite microwaveable food of all time.
It's basically a boiled burger.
