The difference in the frozen ones is, instead of being cooked onions, patty, top bun and then placed on the bottom bun, they're cooked onions, patty, bottom bun and then flipped and the machine puts the top bun on before it goes on a short cooling journey on it's way to being wrapped.

My dad used to take his dates out to a White Castle in the Bronx back in the late 1940's. My late husband and I bought sacks of burgers from a White Castle near his home in Long Island. We agreed there's nothing like a White Castle experience. The burgers are soft and "cuddly" in texture, but the aroma is wonderful, and they're so satisfying. Now I live in rural Vermont where there are no White Castle restaurants. So glad the local supermarket sells the frozen slyders and I have a microwave oven! I make sure to supply the sliced pickles when I serve them.

As a New Yorker who lives by several White Castles, I have to say their breakfast menu is very underrated. Of all the fast food joints, White Castle is the only one that fries up a real egg with real melted cheese on their breakfast sandwich. It's almost on par with going to a deli for a breakfast sandwich. Also, the option to get a side of cheese sauce to dip the sliders and fries into is awesome. One fun fact is the place is 'white' and the employees wear white because it was to show the customers how sanitary the store and cooking are.

Would have been nice to see how much the Harold and Kumar movie increased their sales over time. Guess I'll google it and write it here in an edit.
Forbes magazine stated that White Castle produced a double-digit rise in sales in the months after the film's release. I imagine in the years since it would become increasingly difficult to quantify but I'd wager that a fair amount of tourists would not have passed up an opportunity to visit one. I know I would go and it would be specifically related to that movie. It could possible be up there with one of the most successful advertisements for a company and still have influence today and in the years moving forward.

Living in Southern California my entire life, I never knew what a white castle was until I saw the movie 😅 then one day, at a grocery store, I saw them in the frozen section, but I hesitate to buy them since they were frozen and probably didn't taste the same so I skipped on them. A few years ago, I saw a white castle in Las Vegas. That's when I tried them, but I guess when you sort of drunk, they tasted amazing 😂. But I'll have to give them another try when I'm sober.

I hope this doesn't sound like a nitpick, because I actually love the video! But there was at least one White Castle in Wyandotte County Kansas in the early 90s. I know because it was my favorite fast food place as a young child! It was located on 7th Street in the neighborhood of Armourdale in Kansas City, Kansas! It closed down sometime around '95 or '96 if I recall correctly (it's now a Subway last I checked). It's a small thing to overlook because as far as I know, it was literally the only one in the Kansas City metro area on either side of the state line! I sure wish they'd bring them back around the KC area.

Strange that White Castle started in Wichita, Kansas when I've always associated WC with the East Coast, particularly in NYC during the 80's and 90's. When I visit home in NY every now and then, I often have a craving for WC and get a whole bunch. It's always a dirty affair filled with regret afterwards but it's super nostalgic.
