Hahahahahah
Good one!
Nice!!!
What jose............... Pity zuniga 😂😂😂
Nothing better than a women's perspective on mens clothing......UA-cam needs more of this!
More please! :)
Glad you liked it! Thanks Jamie 😊 more to come!
Classic list. Frat guy clinging to his youth. You just nailed my weekend aesthetic.
😂😂 you can be whoever you want on the weekends
>Have fratstar brother
>His entire wardrobe is literally this
@@CourtneyRyan is a watch really necessary? it really doesnt fit my personality and i think the whole point is to wear what makes you comfortable and what you enjoy wearing. if im wearing a watch just to please someone else and im uncomfortable in my own skin wearing it, is it really worth it?
@@mehdially I agree, Mehdi. I do like my Apple Watch but any other watch I feel uncomfortable in too. 🤷🏼♂️
@@travisvoss5006 ya im not wearing anything to please another person. I am who i am. I sometimes wear a ring on my right ring finger but not really because i got shit to do and no time for any of this trash. Not who i am. Not my personality. I wear what makes ME comfortable. It isnt the clothes or petty accessories that make the person. It’s how you wear them and how you show up. Confidence is key.
Great tips, Courtney!
I smell some biasness.
Thank you Teddy! ❤️❤️
Awww. Supportive Boyfriend!! How sweet
Yes, but have you watched The Office yet, Teddy?
Bruh you are crazy if you don't propose to this girl. I'm sorry but she's way out your league 😂
Since discovering this channel just a few weeks ago and buying most of these items, my confidence has increased and I can't see myself going back to how I used to dress. I was long overdue a wardrobe change and Courtney's channel encouraged me to do it, I'm so glad I discovered it. P.S I hope Teddy eventually caught up on The Office
Go with a navy suit instead of a charcoal suit, the charcoal is more difficult to look nice in during the summer
Thanks for putting this together. Would really like to see a breakdown of each category with your picks on higher and lower cost options in each.
Advice on videos are dressing best for different body types! Tall, short, skinny, hefty etc. Maybe specific advice for hiding or drawing attention away from "problem areas". As well as accentuating and drawing attention to parts of your body that you like.
Big belly style tips is a great place to start. Most men get one with age but very few men know how to look great despite it.
Women are also way better at dressing in a flattering way for their body. You play the game on a different level.
Great video Courtney!!!! I agree with you on everything. I need to upgrade my wardrobe for 2022. As time and money allow I will purchase the needed items. I want to look great for any occasion. Thanks for sharing. I learned so much.
Great vid! I own all these essentials in my wardrobe except for boots and over coat and that's because I live in Costa Rica where the weather is usually 80 to 90 degrees F all year around lol. I did have my suits custom made and I love how they fit. Thanks for sharing!
Greetings from Costa Rica ❤️
Hey Courtney, great content. Great video, love that your picking up steam and creating videos. An idea Id like to see is a series of videos driving deep into each of these essentials. Like a video about which dark wash denim you'd recommend or don't recommend.
Nailed the white sneakers. I own all those exact sneakers. Only thing I'd add is ALWAYS get ur suits tailored no matter what!! Teddy get this lady to LA or NYC. If ur gonna suffer through winter u might as well do it in the greatest city in the world. Great video!
Honestly yes most guys need some alteration but the (depressing) fact is some men simply can find a perfect fit off the rack. And unless you're spending over 100, which sadly is very few, can be hard to justify tailoring costs
A Barbour waxed jacket is also a nice addition! The older it is, the better it looks, if you take care of it! Thx for the tips!
This was a great list. I'm happy to say I have several of all the items you listed. Always on the lookout for something else to add to my wardrobe. I was racking my brain trying to place your voice and where I knew it from until you mentioned Teddy, great guy. You made me chuckle with "cause I"m bitter about it." Whenever you guys are ready, Atl is waiting for you. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you, Brett! Lol I’m a little dramatic about Cleveland but I’d still happily move to ATL! 😂
safe wishes to you as well! ❤️
its boiling hot outside my brain is too melted to think about suits
this was posted on my birthday!!!
I recently started getting rid of clothes. I want to get my wardrobe down to 30 items, not counting the month supply of underwear and socks, and I think there's something sexy about being able to keep all my clothes in one wardrobe that doesnt lead to the Lion, the Witch and a castle full of wardrobes. I'm feeling pretty good about this new decision.
I appreciate your perspective on this and I like your enforcement of "the suit that fits"
Good job Courtney you really guided me, i was lost to build up my closet don't know how to start. but thanks a lot for giving me the basics ❤️
Happy to help ❤️
I think your list is spot on. Nailed it.
I just have to say after subscribing and watching your content for quite some time now that you are spot on! Not only with your style advice, but with advice about dating and such. Keep on doing what you do. 👊🏾 And FYI: That Teddy fellow is one lucky dude. 😉
Essential No.16 : a nice wallet with a lot of cash and an Amex Black in it. Seriously Courtney, great video and thank you for posting!
You described my wardrobe to 100%.
Love your and Teddy's channel, best wishes from Berlin!
Yay!! Thank you ❤️
Great tips, thanks, you've guided some purchases. Very funny: Frat guy just clinging to his youth...he lied about watching The Office. Agree: the watch says a lot. For future: make it lifestyle, it opens the horizon: food, travel, activities, exercise, wine, books, cinema, apartment.
Great tips. Love your delivery.
Courtney: "Frat guy clinging to his youth."
You hit the nail on the head! Although I own some of the items you listed, I do not have white sneakers. For starters, the risk of getting those dirty is too high. Moreover, they require too much maintenance.
😂😂 that’s fair. I totally understand that point. As long as you have some kind of sneaker you’re probably good to go
And common projects are 5x overpriced too unfortunately
You can probably get a decent pair of white sneakers at Nordstrom Rack or somewhere similar for under $50. It's true that they get dirty quickly and will probably only last for maybe a year or so with some maintenance but they are very versatile and look good with almost any casual outfit.
Just buy a minimal white sneaker with the gum sole. It's less maintenance compared to the white sole that soils really easily. The other day I was having this dilemma with myself and decide to get a white sneaker with a gum sole because I can still dress them up or down from casual -->smart casual--> maybe business causal.
But I'm not gonna lie I love the all white sneaker. I just don't think the white sneaker with the gum sole can be pulled off paired with a suit compared to an all white sneaker. Maybe Courtney or someone can chime in on that?
This is great advice! Honestly this channel is Underrated.
This a a great list! Thank you for posting this.
Nice video Courtney, I didn't realize how versatile white sneakers can be. I'm changing my wardrobe adding more pieces, keep it up.
Keep it up Courtney. Well done! I have tons of clothes, shoes, and accessories. Your videos make me want to pare it down to just the ones you mentioned. However, I live in Wooster about an hour south of you so I have to keep a lot of warm stuff. Maybe do a video on that: How to be Stylish in the Cold.
Thanks for the vid - simple and direct to the point. I’m for the classic brown Oxford dress shoes paired with a grey suit...
Thank you, Mark! Me too! 👏🏼👏🏼
Great job Courtney. I sent this to my younger crew at the office.
Awesome! Thanks Craig 😊
Courtney this is very useful, keep doing this. I LOVE IT
Glad you enjoyed! Thank you! ❤️
Damn, Teddy lied about watching "The Office", but still made the cut? OK, I'm all in for a new suit and a watch!
Excellent vid and excellent advice. I thought I had my wardrobe pretty much together but definitely picked up three or four good ideas. I watch real men ,real style which a good UA-cam channel for guys, but getting fashion advice from a beautiful female really makes me want to listen. I am always impressed with your charm, style, beauty and knowledge Courtney. SEIKO IS KING !!!
Thank you Ed! This comment make me smile!!! ❤️ #seiko4ever
Courtney Ryan You’re welcome Courteney. I love all your videos and love the new seiko4ever. Is that a hashtag? The #. I don’t do social media so very uneducated in that area.🤷♂️
Real men real style is decent but I'd be careful, do your research in multiple places, avoid anything fashion-oriented and take it all with several grains of salt
Thank you for the advice from a woman's perspective it's helpful.
In general. I like the list and suits my professional background. Fashion school 😇
Very serious considering other channels haven't mentioned those attributes 🤙I'm impressed 😎
On point. I want to see more!
A black or dark grey warm waterproof coat with a hood is an essential, especially where I am in the UK where it's often raining. I've got a black Jack Wolfskin coat that I'll have with me for about 9 months of the year.
It's more of a practical than stylish piece but can still look good if you're out in bad weather and want something that can be relatively formal/smart casual but don't want to look like you're about to hike up a mountan. Something from Carharrt, Jack Wolfskin, North Face etc.
You’re absolutely right! Lol I love the point about not wanting to look like you’re about to hike up a mountain. Sometimes with practical pieces it’s hard to find the balance 😂 Thanks for the comment! ❤️
Good vid, and highly accurate. This should be the baseline of any men’s wardrobe.
Thank you, Mike!! 😊
The white T-Shirt. My best hack, DO NOT sleep in your "dress" white tee shirts (any color really). You'll stretch the neck out and it will look wavy from then on. Wavy=Dorky. If it's wrinkly=Dorky, get a hand steamer. They are great for quick touch-up on all your shirts.
Ms. Ryan, I really like your suggestions. I would like to add a few things: classic sunglasses such as Ray Ban Clubmasters or Randolph Engineering sunglasses. Other things such as conservative neck ties (stripes), tie clip bar, pocket squares are also essentials as well.
What is it you like about the clubmasters? The shape?
Pocket squares are great if you're actually into menswear but they're not needed, and tie bars/clips you're just better without.
Tip: many of your finer shoemakers sell belts that match their dress shoes perfectly. Picking up a matching belt when you get your shoes will not only knock out #7 and #12 in one swing, but will make sure you look sharp when you wear #'s 3 & 9.
But there should 16 items on this list - you need a nice tie to go with that suit, shirt, belt and shoes!
Your tips are really awesome ❤️❤️
Great style advice! Thanks Courtney! 😃
Thank you! 😊
For colors, you can't go wrong with different shades of grey, blue and brown. Not only do these colors occur in nature, which is why they appeal to so many people, but they also have great synergy in menswear. 🙂
Yes! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Pink is also a good color!
My first Sport coat is a Corduroy Brown Caramel. It goes great with Jeans and my first pair of chino .
Just discovered your channel and i am really loving your videos, may be because i am an introvert as well but i know how to style things up. I am on the same line with everything you are saying, a bit conservative and it screams conscientious persona, i can relate 100%. Anyway keep up the great flow of your videos and you come across like the perfect girlfriend 🤩
Great video . . . very informative !
Also, nothing ruins your up close appearance more than the lack of good personal hygiene ! A well groomed man that wears an appropriate fragrance will elevate your overall impression . . . whether it be in a casual or formal setting !
Keep those shoes polished guys . . . the ladies always, always notice !
Thanks for sharing . . .
Totally agree, Arden! Thanks for the comment 😊
I agree with literally everything you said you are so much better then that other womans stylist I watch Ashley Weston and I've only been watching you for 10 minutes
Keyon Brown thank you so much 🥰 I’m flattered!
Hi Courtney.
Regarding suits, I would suggest having 2 staple: black as suggested and navy blue
Both match with the white shirt (and almost all color-in my ignorant opinion)
For the rest, you’re the professional
Keep the content coming please
*staples
This video to me is GOLD.
I spent ten bucks on a Walmart brand denim jacket at Plato's Closet and I get tons of compliments on it. I'm 6 foot, incredibly ectomorphed, and it's difficult to find anything that fits, so generally I opt to spend the extra, but I got lucky.
Courtney, you hit the mark! I often am asked by my law students or law clerks what clothes to buy as they start their legal career. I have saved your video and am going to play it for them. I agree with you on every bit of advice. Just a couple of refinements. 1) Make sure your shoes are shined. It truly ruins the look to see a guy in a nice suit with shoes that look like the guy just wore them on a hike. 2) If you buy a good dark blue or charcoal suit you can use the jacket as a blazer in a pinch or on a business trip where you have to pack light. 3) You were as the English would say, “spot on” with regard to your belt advice. Nothing says rookie like a guy who is wearing a nice suit with a beat up old Levis brown belt! Awful. Now, off to eat a Hershey Bar (you may be bitter about Cleveland’s winter weather but I am bitter about how you and Teddy downgraded my beloved Hershey Bar) :-).
You are so right David!! Totally agree with all of that. Lol still sorry I stomped on your beloved Hershey bar 😂😂
I made two mistakes with suits in law school. One was getting a navy suit and a black suit, instead of navy and charcoal. The other was weightlifting too much. I was 5'8" and bulked up to 185 lbs. with a 43" chest. Once I stopped lifting so much, those suits became useless. I haven't touched a weight in decades, and I've settled into a 38" chest. I should've had a less impactful stress reliever during law school.
Oh, I also wish that I had spent more money on some quality dress shoes. Bigger upfront cost, but they last much longer (especially with shoe trees).
Love your tips, Courtney!! I'd really appreciate if you could take this topic a lil' bit deeper like 15 summer essentials and 15 winter essentials, thnx in advance. Greetings from Chile!
It's a great list... Many thanks for doing this.
Also it's great to get a perspective from a woman rather than shouty men who only advertise on their channel.
Please keep these videos coming...
I am a Tshirt and Jeans guy. I was doing laundry last night and had 2 Tshirts and a white, long sleeve pull-over shirt all together in one wad in my hand and bam, it jumped right out at me that my Tshirts were no longer bright white. I'll try bleach, they don't have stains, just lost pizazz, but might have to get new ones.
As far as the list, I still don't have a suit, I have a blazer that I've worn like twice in 10 years. Hard to justify a suit. In Nevada the suit is jeans, cowboy boots & hat, I don't have the hat and cowboy boots, either. Moto boots and helmet. Yes.
I feel you on Cleveland, other than the R&R HoF, it's weather would definitely run me off. I declared Motorcycle season open on Easter Sunday in Nevada and THAT was about a month later than usual for here. And humidity in the summer is quite low. Nice.
I love the video! And some sick watches at the end 👀
Tom Cruise style is my go-to. White tshirt or oxford and light blue jeans.
Loved the list! Courtney can you please make a video on dressing well for college dudes? And woah i didn’t know ur from Cleveland I go to school in Granville oh.
Great video, and the pandemic hair looks great on you!
Couldn’t help but notice the pics of boots you showed were from Thursday Boot Company, one of my favorites! They’re really well made and affordable. I have their Cavalier (a Chelsea boot) in black. I’m not getting paid for this. I just really like their boots.
Thank you Courtney Ryan
Enjoyed this, thanks.
Great tips! Maybe for the next video you can give tips for traveling fashion 🙏🏻
LOL lied about watching the office but still got a nice suit xD
Priorities 😂
This is a really solid list.
Thanks Kevin! 😊
These are all great ideas but I will continue wearing crazy stuff
hahaha your highlighter spikes
Clear and detailed
This is a really informative video!
Nice video, Courtney. I feel we have very similar tastes in aesthetics in regards to watches and clothes. Subbed 👍
Glad to hear it! Thank you 🥰🥰
YES I WAS GOING TO ASK FOR THIS! Enjoyed the women's one as well. NICE! Gonna tweet these out!
Yay!! Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much!! 😊❤️
Awesome video!! Would love a follow up for accessories like socks, ties, scarves, hats, etc! Hard to pare it down to just 15 essentials. I'd have to squeeze in a shawl collar cardigan somehow someway. Maybe do another video also for warm weather like Miami? :D
Good idea! I definitely need to do one for warmer weather clothes. You’re right, it’s difficult to only pick 15! Thanks for watching 😊
That cardigan is one of the traditional Steve McQueen classics.
A fantastic video! It's a shame I didn't know about it these long.
Super Liked and Subscribed. Thank You and Best Wishes for your future endeavours!
Better late than never! 😎 thank you for the kind comment!
you think Cleveland is cold come to Montreal hahaha great vid Courtney! :) i would add for sure a nice tie and maybe a hat for the flashier guys, i like wearing my fedora when i go out sometimes hehe.
D Vigz Lol I cant even imagine!! 😂☃️
You’re so right! Thank you!!
Hi I’ve only found you just because I subscribed to teddy but thanks ur giving good and honest tips to a guy like me 🙂
Heya Courtney, a suggestion for future vids would be to have some soft background music playing, like some smooth hotel jazz to complement the smooth voice
Great video. A few thoughts. Never wear a button down Oxford with a tie. Always wear a white tee shirt under a white dress shirt. Get a reversible leather belt-brown/black. You can always get a solid blue suit and use the jacket as a blazer. For a few bucks more you get a suit and blazer. If you have both, be sure to get a blazer with shiny buttons-gold or silver. No no no on floods for suit pants. And don’t get pleated pants unless you want to look like you are 90. You are dead right on fit being critical in a suit. If you can afford a custom-and every department store does decently priced quasi-customs, do it. If not, buy a suit in your size and find yourself a tailor. Not someone at a dry cleaners. A real tailor. And ask to have it tailored perfectly. Not just cuffs, sleeves, and waist. You won’t regret it. Agree completely with an Oxford dress shoe but you gotta go black first. It’ll always work with your charcoal suit and jeans and a blazer. Brown doesn’t always. Brown is a great second pair. Great great video. If you want to expand to 16 items, get a “conservative” Robert Graham shirt. Not the wild ones which are cool but a laid back one. You can wear it with a suit and tie with the sleeves down, but then lose the jacket and flip up them cuffs and hit the town. Teddy totally needs one. He might protest a bit at first as he seems pretty conservative, but RG makes ones he’ll like.
Awesome comment, Andy! I think I could learn a few things from you 😂😂
WRONG
@@CourtneyRyan Andy is wrong on many things. Pleats are back I style. And you can definitely wear a tie with an Oxford button down.
Great video. Thanks for this!
Thanks Joe! 😊
Sharing this vid with my boys, 21 and 18.
You look great in your video's, Courtney. Thank you. I'm happy that Chino's are welcome. Always had problems with having big legs, a big butt and a small mid section.

Great video! Loving the high quality production. Any thoughts on smart watches?
Sule_lol thank you! ☺️ I’m not a huge fan of smart watches as an accessory but for their functionality features (working out, etc.) I think they are great!
You emphasize layering from tee shirts to sweaters to jackets. Have tried…literally can’t take the heat of layering and start sweating. Even during winter.
Doesn’t anyone else get too hot when wearing layers?
Yeah, and it is tedious getting them all on too.

Death teddy perkins
Courtney, please continue on tips for guys! we value the most when it comes from girls.
Only 2 things you missed which are crucial are a nice slim leather wallet and a solid color tie....staples and make sure they match the belt and coordinate well with the suit.
Definitely agree with everything on that list! I literally recommend almost all of those during my consultations with clients 😆
Glad to hear it! Thank you! 😊
I subscribed to your channel because your content is so amazing 🤩 and interesting and not just because you are incredibly beautiful 😻. The 2nd is also true but not the prime reason I watch your videos. Thank you 😊
you killed it 100 percent 👌👌👌
Thank you, Owen!! ☺️
Wow Courtney! You led off the watch section with a Junghans Max Bill Chrono. That is so classy. Subscribe!
I was doing well until the double digits haha. Thanks for the tips Courtney!
Haha at least you have some of them! that’s better than most people 😂 thanks for watching!!
